Great local restaurant! We got lucky and found it as we were traveling south on I-75. It was Friday and they had all you can eat fried catfish which came with hush puppies, fries, and slaw. The hush puppies were just ok, but the slaw was very good and the fries and catfish were A plus!! This place is clearly popular with locals, as the parking lot was full to overflowing, fortunately there is parking on the grass available! Brownie for two dessert special was yummy- cooked in a little cast iron skillet and topped with vanilla ice cream and pecans. read more

We went here last year before a concert at Renfro Valley and had a great meal. We came back this year under the same circumstances and had possibly the worst experience ever. The service was horrible, we had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks and even longer for our food. My wife got catfish and asked for lemon slices, by the time she got the lemon slices, the catfish was cold. We're still waiting for refills on our drinks, and had to chase someone down to pay. I'm willing to say this was an anomaly, and give it another try sometime, the food was great before, but the service has to improve. Very disappointed. read more

Im giving it 2 stars bc our server was awesome! Very nice guy. I ordered my sirloin medium well it came back RAW, then he brought it back To me after sending it to the kitchen and it was a hockey puck (needless to say they gave me a pot roast. There is absolutely NO WAY they are selling Serloin steak. Our server was very apologetic and very nice about it so that's the only reason I'm giving two stars and the appetizers were delicious. read more

Best little hidden place we have ever found. The food is inexpensive, you get huge portions and everything we ordered was very well prepared. The Limestone Bites are my favorite and the burgers are huge. The service is quick and the servers are very friendly. Save room for the cobbler! read more

Do not go on a Sunday around 12 noon (Church people flood this place) because you will wait an hour for your meal. It was worth the wait! I highly recommend this place for Friend Green Tomatoes, blackened Fish and sides. We loved it! read more

The wife had the pork tenderloin w/mashed potatoes and green beans. She loved all.she said the tenderloin was the best and most tender she'd ever had. This is such a great hidden gem....a nice break from all the fast food crap! Friendly and VERY clean including the bathrooms which is a nice change from the sticky, stinky fly infested floors of those fast food bathrooms on the road. This to me says a LOT about a restaurant! Their food was great too...nothing fancy but exactly what we'd expect from a southern grill. If you're on a diet, stick to a salad. My family of 6 all loved their meals! Only suggestion we'd make is a better sign to attract patrons and sprucing up the entrance with some pretty landscaping. So glad we decided not to pass this up!! read more

While traveling north on I75 we stopped to eat a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was clean, the service very good, and the food was excellent. Our waitress was attentive to our table and we never had to ask for a refill on our drinks. We will definitely keep the Limestone Grill on our list of good places to stop at on our travels on I75. read more

My family was on our way back from a long road trip and decided to forgo fast food for something a bit better. I looked on yelp from London all the way to Richmond and decided LG was the fastest restaurant to get to that had the best reviews. That was the best decision I have ever made. The food here was from heaven. Their fried green tomatoes were perfection, so crispy and delicious. The limestone bites were to die for. I had the fried catfish sandwich and it was by far the best catfish I have ever eaten in my entire life. It was not even close to being a bit dry and melted like butter in your mouth. I am so used to catfish being tough but this was far from it. My husband had the ribeye sandwich that he said also melted in your youth, and was gigantic! The fries were perfectly crispy and my kids said the burgers were the best they have ever had. It's really too bad this restaurant is two hours from our house or we would be here all the time. If you are thinking about eating here DO IT. You will not regret it. read more

HORRIBLE service. We arrived about 6 pm our plan was to eat before the Charlie Daniels show at Renfro Valley, it started at 8. We were seated about 615. At 645 we had to find a server to wait on us. We got our drinks and order taken. We ended up leaving at 730. No food. Mind you our order of sandwiches weren't complicated. We had heard how good the food was.. we will never know. read more

Came upon this restaurant by chance traveling home from vacationing in TNN ..pulled into the Denny's parking lot looked up the hill across the street AND there was "The Limestone Grill" Quickly got back into our car & drove up the hill to "The Limestone Grill" What an EXCELLANT choice! The staff was excellent showing real southern hospitality! Food was homemade We order the 1/2 order fried catfish dinner, it came with hushpuppies& 2 sides!! (We ordered the Homemade coleslaw (yummo) & green beans! The portions were so big we had a take home box! Enough for another entire dinner meal! Wow! A must try restaurant!!!! Great southern fried food. My wife and I had the catfish with fried green tomatoes, fried okra a salad and a hush puppy. Loved it and one of best catfish dinners ever. We're not big fried fans but this was great and local. I'd give it a five but no wine or beer. Great cherry staff with Lots of southern charm. Ok decor and kinda southern dumpy, but fun. I was getting gas at the Marathon, passing through from Cincinnati on my way to Dale Hollow. I looked up and saw this place and had to give it a try. I'm not sure how they maintain such a nice place on the low menu prices and quality of the food. I had chicken fried chicken, mac & cheese, and a wedge salad. With a drink all that came to something silly like 8.99? The wedge salad was on par with what you would get at any mid-range restaurant and was a quarter of the price. The chicken had a great breading, was cooked perfectly, and served with delicious cream gravy. The mac and cheese was good but I'm a sucker for some white cheddar mac or something a bit more exciting than american cheese..of course those cheeses come at a higher price--it was definitely tasty for the money. If I ever find myself on I-75 in East KY around lunch, I'm coming here! read more

Stopped here on our way from Great Smokey Mountain National Park to Louisville. Wonderful little hidden gem just off I75. Potato skins were crunchy outside and moist and flavorful inside just like they should be. My boys had a burger and a chicken bacon ranch panini. I had the hillbilly tacos and boy were they delicious! An unexpected tasty combination of corncakes with pulled bbq pork and coleslaw. The homemade desserts were just as delicious (chocolate pie and peach cobbler a la mode). Staff was super friendly and attentive. If you are ever in their area or even just driving by I suggest you stop and have a yummy bite to eat. read more

Best place in town to eat. Use to always eat there when passing through, in part due to a crazy waiter who make the meal and service a 10. Not sure what happened to him, but the last three times it just wasn't the same. The last visit we told the waitress we were in a hurry and it turned out she forgot to put in one persons order. It took a few minutes to be waited on for take out as they had a large group just come in before us, but the food and service was great. Simple, clean rustic farm style decor. My family liked their marinated chicken, Limestone burger, and hand breaded chicken fingers. All the sides were great, especially the fried green tomatoes. Everything looked homemade. Great price. Please keep driving if you are tempted to stop on a Saturday evening! This was our third visit to Limestone, and sadly a repeat of our first. They are slammed on Saturday with show crowd from Renfro Valley, but are ill-prepared after several years . . . Once seated, we ordered our meals and drinks. After 14 minutes, we did receive our beverages. After 45 minutes, still no food; not even the salad. Two parties seated after us finally received their food, and I hope it was better than what we received. A cold hamburger & fries, tepid beans in brown water , cornbread, and rubbery "fried potatoes". The plates were hot but food was cold. My Hillbilly tacos were edible, so the 3 of us shared those. We shared our complaints with the same manager from a year ago; who shrugged his shoulders and said sorry about your experience. Obviously did not care. Our waitress, Tequila, asked everyone not to blame her, and probably did not receive any tips all night long. Whatever the problem is, management should care enough to fix it. My family and I eat here all the time and every time we go the food is great the service is fabulous and the staff is very friendly. They aim to please!! Tried this place on a hiking trip to TN- terrific! Will definitely come here again on future trips. Right off the interstate (kind of hidden behind a gas station) and DELICIOUS food! My fiancée's jumbo shrimp was the best he's ever had. I had the turkey and dressing special with sides of fried green tomato and sweet potato- yummy.
