We eat here at least once a week. The food is always great! Burgers are perfect, chicken tenders are amazing, the fried green tomatoes don't get any better and I LOVE the peach cobbler with ice cream. read more

I think the food is pretty good, but we definitely had to wait for it. We waited 15 minutes for drinks and an hour for a simple order. When we asked our server to check on our food she came back and told us "It's coming". At the one hour mark we told her we would pay for our drinks and leave if the food wasn't ready. She went to the kitchen and came right back with our order. My husband's dinner arrived with the wrong side item, but we couldn't spend any more time waiting for a replacement. There were no apologies for the wait, so slow must be the way they roll. Save this stop for days when you have plenty of time. read more

I've ate here several times and the food and service are great. The bade reviews her are just sort of stupid. Bad chix for a heart patient? Maybe don't eat fried foods spanky. Maybe try a salad or one of thier grilled checkin or steaks.What short bus did you arrive there in? I'll agree the TAP WATER is not of bottled quality. I hardly can fault a restaurant for the water that is in their pipes. The chix tenders are hand breaded in house, the fries are do not sit under a lamp because they are cooked to order. Just ate the ribeye tonight. My wife had a chicken salad. My (medium rare) steak was prepared perfectly and the wife's salad was great as well. The place was pretty busy but our server made sure to take great care of us. I honestly could not ask for a better meal for the money. We also had an appetizer called Limestone Bites. Roasted jalapeno rings with a nice seasoning, (real)bacon bits, and a light shredded cheese. It comes with a ranch dressing on it but we opted for it on the side. Really tasty little dish. They have grilled options of r many of their deep fried meals. The not so good reviews show me a lack of this task. They keep their menu simple as possible but will do many things upon request. All in all I have yet to have a ad experience in The Limestone Grille. From the owners tot he server staff they have always been very friendly and helpful. My steak tonight was even better then normal and that's honestly hard to believe being the are so good to begin with. I worked in kitchens back when and understand food-service from all angles of production as well as service. It's usually people like me that are harder to please as we know what you are doing. I have ordered my steaks the same way for over 40 years and at least half the time they are not prepared correctly. The cook staff at Limestone Grille do not have this problem. Every time I order a steak it is prepared correctly and presentation is excellent. It is not a 5 star restaurant. what it is is good family sit down dining. I would think any grown up would understand the difference. Bottom line is the Limestone Grille has: Good management, Good service, And a good production staff. You really can not ask for more. The time I went there it took almost 30 minutes to get drinks. I order my steak medium and they bring it back medium rare the first and the second came back rare. The waitress was rude and acted like it was my fault. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had to pay outrageous price for my meal even though the screwed it up not once but twice. read more

We were returning from a few days camping and had our dog with us, so we asked for a menu to get our food to go. We didn't see a patio but there was a lot of road construction going on and cool weather. We decided to split the Hillbilly Tacos. Great idea with cornmeal pancakes as the bottom then smoked pulled pork, slaw then barbeque sauce. Only one of our tacos actually had a little sauce though and the slaw was dry not allowing the flavors to blend. Think I'll steal your idea and make good ones at home next time. We really love to stop at non- chain restaurants and hope that Limestone Grill takes more care with all orders. I'm sorry that I left a nice tip with this carry out. read more

Well I have read most of the reviews on here and they all seem pretty good.however I wasn't please at all with the breakfast. and I don't think the cooks know how to read simple directions from the wait staff. I guess you don't get your food the way you order it but how they want to cook it. Was not impressed by the food at all. Now for serving staff. Absolutely wonderful, smiles every where. Pleasant and friendly. My server Jessica was amazing. But when I asked her if there was any other place besides here to eat in this town she said that this was the only sit down restaurant in town. First visit today with the family on a spring break outing. Attractive venue; friendly staff; nice menu; very reasonable prices. Of the seven in our party, four really liked their food (fried catfish, blackened catfish, pancakes & BLT); one loved the salmon but not the sides; one liked the soup beans & cornbread; one did not like the hamburger (but it went down the table to another and quickly disappeared). I love Limestone Grille. When visiting Renfro Valley after a long drive and a day of work Limestone Grille is so relaxing and comfortable. The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. All that is good about Limestone Grille is a testimony to it's owner Ben. Ben's vision and hospitality is so well executed by his staff During this last visit on Friday I called ahead that we would be unable to get there until just before closing time and we were welcomed and greatest with smiles by all. I had the ribeye steak sandwich. It was everything you would want a steak sandwich to be. It was a ribeye steak. Not a shaved Philly steak style sandwich. The food was hot and delicious. Came with green peppers and onions and was well seasoned. Our surprise was learning that been had enclosed the patio and the AC was super. I love the tall glass Ball jars that the sodas were served in and they were icy cold. And our service was efficient, prompt and friendly. We stopped overnight at the Baymont in Mt Vernon and ordered curbside pickup. The food is fantastic! We had chicken tenders dinner, Buffalo s sauce, green beans, Mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes (with brown gravy). All this for $20, which included a $7 tip. Eat here! read more

When we first entered the restaurant, I will admit that I was a little skeptical that we would get a good meal. Was I ever wrong! My party of three was VERY pleasantly surprised with the rich menu that was filled with very good food At amazingly reasonable prices. I got a chef salad that had everything it needed to be delicious. My friends got sandwiches that they found to be very tasty and well seasoned. And the sides were just as well done. Great stop while waiting on some freeway traffic. Had the blackened catfish sandwich with a side salad and it was real good and affordable as well. I love that they ask you if you want extra ranch on anything as that's what southern people do. Kentucky ha. Great and fast service. Id recommend over any of the fast food spots. read more

This is without a doubt one of the best Country casual restaurants I have ever ben to. I had the chopped steak smotherd in onions and gravy w/ mashed potatoes. Don't stop here. They seem to have a large carry out business so if you are driving through you will be waiting and waiting for a simple breakfast. The two of us were the only inside customers and we needed to ask for coffee refills. The food was ok with the exception of the pancakes which had a tough texture like bubble gum. read more

The hostess was very accommodating when we walked in and our waitress also went out of her way to ensure we had a nice time. We were regulars who come in at least every other week. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and we had quite possibly the worst service you could ask for. The service was poor, all the servers had horrible attitudes, not to mention we didn't get part of the food but we ordered. We went to the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Museum and the gal working the ticket register suggested we come here for lunch. The food was good. The portions large. Prices reasonable. We enjoyed our meal and ended up taking some with us because we just couldn't eat it all. The place was a bit on the dark side...not a lot of lighting and it seemed a bit dirty and unkept. When we got up to leave my shirt peeled away from the back of the booth because it was sticky...the table was sticky but had been bussed...the booth seat was coming apart. I think with a good cleaning and some TLC to the dining room the place would get my 5 stars. read more

Excellent fried catfish and green tomatoes! Had some delicious fried pickles for a starter. Our waitress, Regina, was the best! Made sure we weren't on our way to the nearby concert because they were so busy she was afraid we'd be late. Luckily we weren't going. This place is obviously loved by the locals and it was a Saturday night. Go early!! My only negative is the house wine is Barefoot & both my Chardonnay and hubbie's Pinot Grigio were sweet. This place came recommended by folks at an area attraction. They definitely did not put their best foot forward today. I arrived, was seated promptly, took a few minutes to look over the menu for the 1st time, drinks were delivered and the order was taken within five minutes. At the the time I came in there were 4 other tables seated, I made 5. There were at least 3 servers, 2 girls cleaning tables/bringing clean dishes from to the kitchen, and a greeter, plus whoever was in the kitchen. A table of 8 then came in, a group of 5, a couple and a table of 3 -- all after me. ...and we waited. After 10 minutes the server refilled drinks and 10 more minutes later came back to refill drinks and said they were short-handed, but it shouldn't be long. Another 10 minutes the table of 8 was served, and then the couple. A different server asked if I needed anything --- food... She said she would check on it. A few minutes later she said that it shouldn't be long, that they were short-handed. The comment was made that other people were already getting their food before me. She assured us that my food would be next. 10 more minutes -- the table of 3 got the same dish that I ordered. We decided if they also got their food before we got our appetizer, we were leaving. You guessed it. Here came their food. I left $6 on the table for drinks and walked out. There wasn't even anybody attending the front of house to ask what was wrong. I would have preferred that they just own up -- they lost the order, they got out of order, they burned it or dropped it, or whatever. Own up, don't cover up. Thank you, Arby's (across the street)! 5 stars tasty food with healthy choices. Who would have guessed a family run restaurant up on a hill next to the freeway could be so good. Look up the hill behind the Shell Gas station. We loved this family run restaurant. You can even bring your dog to the beautiful stonework patio. Friday nights they have live music. The food, ambiance, price and service is spectacular. The large servings of food was so good we talked to the owner afterwards. He told us they shop local farmers markets for the food. He also said it's all home made, not processed. We could tell a lot of love went into this place. The stonework, handmade chairs, tin barn doors and the authentic barn wood trim was all quality crafted. If we lived anywhere nearby we'd eat here all the time. read more
