It was $107 for two double beds on a Saturday night, which seemed super reasonable for the area on a Saturday night. The Historic Strasburg Inn was very popular when I was a child, but it seems that the Clarion is allowing this historic hotel to fall into disrepair, although the rooms are much cheaper than they once were. While the hotel's charm remains, the wallpaper is falling off of the walls, our sheets had blood stains, and the furniture is being neglected. The mattresses were terribly uncomfortable. The water pressure in our shower was great, and the charm is still there at least. This is a no smoking hotel. This isn't a hotel with a lot of amenities, but the continental breakfast was delicious. They had fresh bread, including rye, which made a great egg sandwich. The outdoor pool was closed, but that was the only other real amenity here. The staff was clearly struggling. The front desk people all seemed to be very stressed, and people clearly had a lot of complaints. One employee opened with, "Did you hate your stay too?" It was really sad. The woman working the breakfast counter was nasty and rude and was yelling at guests throughout our breakfast. I would not stay here again, even to just pass through, because the uncomfortable mattresses made it hard to sleep. But it was nice to see this historic property once. It's always nice to not get the full chain experience at a hotel.
