The main downside is the wait during the taco Tuesday rush, which is worsened by the fact that their wait list system is not automated. The first time we went there, we had a really nice experience. We had all-you-can-eat tacos and a lovely server. He was totally respectful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. we recently went again at 5 PM when the restaurant opened for the evening and told the guy who greeted us at the doorthat we were meeting a friend and we needed a table for 3. He told us he couldn't seat us until all parties were there which I would understand if it was a busy hour. There was literally no one else in the restaurant. It was a very hot day outside we stood outside for a few minutes, went back in, and my husband if we could just sit down and have a drink. We stood there for 20 minutes and the nice server from last time came over and said do you guys sit ? and we said we would love to sit, but unfortunately we were told to stand in this corner. He walked away and I realized he had no authority and the other guy obviously did so after 20 minutes we decided to leave and go down the street to Ainslie where we've always been treated nice and the atmosphere is lovely and the food is excellent. We were seated near the entrance on a chilly night, and the door kept staying open, so halfway through dinner I had to ask the bartender if it could be closed because it was getting pretty cold. Our waiter was very polite and friendly, but I do feel the service could have been a bit more attentive, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy. We also went to order one of the steak dishes to take home for our husbands and were told it was unavailable, which was a little confusing considering they still had hanger steak available for the fajitas. This spot has been on my list for years and I finally went but it was disappointing. It took about 40 minutes just to get our appetizers, and the tortilla chips were incredibly greasy. I came here for their AYCE taco deal on a Tuesday (they also run this deal on Wednesday) and had a fun time. When we went, their system was down, so it was cash only but there was fortunately an ATM around the corner. Their AYCE taco deal has a base rate of $20 for 5 different tacos (carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, chicken tinga, and veggies), but for an additional $5, you can add birria OR fish. For $10 you can add both. We decided to add their birria and I enjoyed it. The portions here are solid, they give lots of meat, and service is pretty quick during busy periods. When we first sat down, there was no wait so it took a while between plates. However, by the end there was a wait, plates were coming out significantly quicker, and they were even rushing me out by touching and moving my belongings so they could clean the table (we got up AS SOON AS they notified us there were people waiting--I didn't appreciate that they were moving my belongings). What a gem. I pass this place all the time and never noticed it. I was looking for a place with good prices for margaritas. On Monday, they have $8 margaritas with 8 different flavors. I tried at least 4 of the flavors and I will return for the rest! Cynthia the bartender is so nice and welcoming. She is also a fantastic bartender. She let me sample the passion fruit margarita. I found this place on TikTok that offered $20 all-you-can-eat tacos on Tuesdays, so my five friends and I went on Cinco de Mayo, which was also on Tuesdays. We arrived at 5:20 p.m. and waited in line until just before 7 p.m. to be seated. Although we anticipated a wait, we were surprised to find that they were offering a "special holiday menu" for Cinco de Mayo instead of the all-you-can-eat. We placed our drink orders first, followed shortly after by our food orders. Considering that the restaurant was packed with customers both inside and outside as well as those at the bar, the wait time for our food wasn't long. We decided that "it was worth the long wait because nobody in my party had any complaints or negative feedback about their food, until we received the bill. Our total was $288.68, but we had to pay $300.23 because we were using a card. Everyone sent their share of the bill and shared the tax to the person using their card; nevertheless, there was a $11.55 operation fee and a 20% gratuity ($44.80). I asked the waiter why we were being charged a gratuity because we were a party of five and what the operating fee was. He replied, "We have a gratuity for parties 4 and up and the operating fee is for people paying with card."
