The plastic casing on my car key broke and when I went to the dealership, they said it would cost $350 to be replaced... even though the fob part still worked!! I bought a replica of the plastic casing on Amazon and went to Lim's to have the key part cut. He did an amazing job and was very efficient. Outstanding service, price and response. His location at 8th and Vermont was easy to get to, about a mile off the 10 or the 101, and he is in a strip mall in Koreatown that has adequate off street parking. I needed two Lexus keys replaced due to the plastic housing breaking in half. He replaced both keys with what appeared to be Lexus OEM parts, cut them, and swapped in the electronics from the old keys and fully tested them. On top of that he made me two backup keys for my Yamaha, and I walked out of there for under $50. The next day he came to my house and completely replaced, cut and programmed a key for my Mazda 6 for $160 in my driveway. The dealer had quoted me over $300 for a new key, cut and programmed, and the dealer wouldn't have come to my driveway to do it! The only downside is he is a little hard (for me) to understand. His accent is thick (Korean) and my hearing is poor. But since he knows exactly what he is doing, there wasn't a lot of conversation needed anyway. I had a lockbox which I had lost the key for and needed to get open. I called ahead to make sure they were not out on a call at the moment, then brought it over, and my box was open within minutes! Mr & Mrs Lim were awesome. I needed to get a spare key made for my car and Mr Lim went above and beyond to help me out. My remote car key situation was a little complicated because of the model, the chip, etc., but he came through and I paid much less than what the dealership would have charged me. I was shocked at the constant flow of customers coming to their little kiosk in the mini mart (the same as baskin robbins). They are also the fastest key makers I've seen...and I've had many keys made throughout my life both personally and professionally and they literally can make a key in about 20 seconds. My BF lost his one and only motorcycle key and I helped him call around to see if we could find a locksmith. After calling around 9 other places I found on Yelp, I finally found Lim's Locksmiths page and called him. Mr. Lim was one of the very few that was able to do a motorcycle key AND his was the best price hands down. Other places quoted over $200. He was able to come to where the bike was which was parked at BF's house and after a couple of tries on making the key, he finally did it and even gave us a spare! I'm not really sure what the process is on how to make the key but my BF said he was impressed because it was all done by hand and not through a machine. Highly recommend this place because they're very friendly, responsive and gets the job done 100%! When Mr. Lim was running a bit late because he was still with another customer, his wife called instead to let us know. We'll definitely be calling again in case we need help with our keys! I came here to get my 2007 Honda Civic key duplicated, as I had lost my initial spare. I bought a key online, and the owner did his best in order to make it work, but unfortunately the chip fob was no compatible. However, he was able to provide me with a copied key from scratch, which likely would've cost around $200 at MINIMUM at a dealer. They did it here for $120, almost half the price, and no wait or hassle of going to the dealer. I have an older model car (2006) and my car key has a chip starter in the key! Long story short, my key was destroyed and the dealership wanted to charge me $400+ to replace my key and reprogram it! I used to live in the area and remembered this kiosk and went and gave them a try! The female owner was very nice and even tho the male owner wasn't available at the moment, she made it her duty to get him there as quick as possible to help me! Boy what a night out, I lost my car alarm, broke my keys in half, what to do? I have a problem with losing my keys all the time and been to many locksmiths at this point but Mr and Mrs Lim are the people to goto. They dont try to overcharge you and continually pursue you to get other things while your there. They are quick, affordable, and simply actually care about what they are doing. They have all types of car manufacturers keys, I have a honda and they got me hooked up with a new alarm and everything! If ever your locked out of your car, Mr Lim will get to you in no time! I save a lot of money coming here to copy my keys. I copied four sets of 4 types of keys and they were only a dollar each. It was a really good price and they're so fast. This place is the only place that makes a true copy of your keys! I've taken it to Home Depot and another Korean key maker (machine made of course) and none of the keys seem to fit. For only $1.50!! and more importantly makes a real copy of your keys! The guy even said if it doesn't fit bring it back. I highly highly highly recommend this place. I had to replace my mailbox lock after losing the keys. I called Mr. Lim and asked if he could change my lock for a price I could afford -- a little on the high side for me but probably a fast buck for him, so decent compromise. He took a little while to arrive, but he was really prompt to pick up his phone when I called to double check he was still coming. He finished in less than 15 minutes after trying a few different ways. I paid in cash. He's on my list of locksmiths to call if I should ever (heaven forbid) lose my keys again! One piece of advice is I would call locksmiths close to where you are, because it makes more sense to ask for lower prices when the locksmiths don't have to spend much time driving to and from you, so they have more time to go to their other customers too. read more

After not finding my usual locksmith this past Friday I remembered seeing this place on Vermont and 8th Street inside the strip mall where Payless and Baskin Robbins is located. I got there and there was this really nice and sweet lady helping two other customers. When It was my turn I asked for two keys. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and only paid $2.50. While I was waiting for my keys another customer came through and had nothing but praises for this place and very well deserved. My keys work perfectly fine and customer service was excellent. This guy is awesome. Best price in town and super fast service. My mom lost her car key and everyone was charging so much money. They also said it would take 1 to 2 hours because it was around 530pm. He told me that he would be here in 30 minutes. He was punctual and gave me a heads up when he was 3 minutes away. Very courteous and patient. He made the key super quick. Second time I used them. They don't try to cheat you out of a couple dollars and then lower the price if you tell them you'll go somewhere else. They've earned my trust regarding price. They gave me a little service since I had to wait for the guy to get back. Plus it was quick when he did arrive. All in all I trust their prices, like their customer service, and he clearly knows what he's doing. I asked why, when he said over the phone just $50?? And the guy explained well thats for after market price and this is original..
