My son loves buffets, so he invited me to lunch at this place. I'm not particularly fond of buffets, but I couldn't turn down his invitation. You come in and pay in advance, then wait to be seated. Lunch was $18 plus tax. The place was very clean, and the dishes looked appetizing. I ate a lot of salads--they were very fresh, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to salads. Some of the food items were on point, while others were just okay. The best dish, in my opinion, was the chicken teriyaki. They also have a Mongolian grill where you can customize your noodles, vegetables, and choice of protein, and they cook everything right in front of you. I really wanted to love this Lin's Grand Buffet because the Tucson Mall location is much closer to me than the original location on Benson Highway. Unfortunately, after trying it, I can confidently say that it's worth the extra drive to go farther south. This location is not what I would call "grand." It's much smaller and feels pretty dinky compared with the original. The biggest difference is the quality and variety of the food. There's a wok station and a sushi bar, but the sushi selection was very, very limited and what was available seemed a little stale. I was also disappointed by the lack of vegetable options. Some of my favorite things at the Benson location are the steamed mushrooms, Chinese fried potatoes, and green beans, but none of those were available here. If you're someone who likes having plenty of vegetable choices at a buffet, you may find this location particularly lacking. The seating is another drawback. There aren't a lot of seating options, and the tables are packed fairly close together, which makes the dining area feel crowded. Honestly, I found myself thinking that I would have preferred if this space had simply remained a Sweet Tomatoes. I think that would have been a better use of the location. If you're craving Lin's, I'd recommend making the drive to the Benson Highway location. The Tucson Mall location is convenient, but the original is worth the extra mileage for the much better selection and overall experience. read more

So this is the new location where sweet tomatoes used to be at by the Tucson mall a little smaller than the buffet off of Benson Highway. The food selection was still very good. The food hot and the service was very good as well.. if you're in the mood for a nice 10 steak over by the Mandarin Grill area you can ask for a steak they season it pretty well and was very tasty. Came here for dinner wanted to try this place out since it was grand opening. Just like any other buffet.. They got seafood,sushi,salad bar , dessert, ice cream machine, etc. Food here, they had different varieties to choose from, they did have crab legs. Overall some was alittle salty. Service was ok. Ambience is really nice inside had a lot of tables and chairs. When you walk in they would ask you for how many people then you pay at that time then they will seated you. What a difference from the grand opening to now!! Food was not real hot or fresh I found a hair in the Sushi! Ice cream machine was broken! Caesar salad was all wilted! And there was no dressings they took them to fill them and we had to wait until they were done,instead of having backups all ready.The service sucked we had to flag down our waitress to get a refill of coffee. Very clean and inviting atmosphere when you walk in. We went for an early dinner and they were still quite busy. They have a huge assortment of foods to choose from. You can do your own stir fry, choose assorted sushi, make your own poke bowl or choose from a huge variety of hot stir fried food. Everything was very good and the waitress who refilled our drinks and cleaned our dishes was outstanding. I didn't choose dessert but they have all sorts of pastries and cookies as well as soft serve ice cream. Overall, the quality for what you pay is quite decent. Meh. Not bad but not very good either. For $20 I'm not looking for too much but I've had better for $20 (especially coming from other states). I liked the Mongolian grill area - the sauce was tasty. However, there was a lack of seafood and the sushi was subpar. The rice was musty on some pieces and rolls were full of rice. My favorite thing was honestly the hot and sour soup. Service aways friendly and not slow despite there being a lot of people. This is not in the business itself, but there were a tonnn of children. They were loud and rowdy and honestly made the place unsanitary as they dropped food everywhere and touched the utensils/plates while eating at the food bar. Might go back if I'm really desperate but right now I'll go explore other Tucson eateries. read more

It appears they may be experiencing some staffing shortages, as water refills took a considerable amount of time, and there were delays in clearing our plates. This could potentially be attributed to the recent opening. I found myself needing to retrieve a clean plate from another station. The sushi booth seemed to be consistently low on items. I like going to buffets for the variety of food but I usually never leave impressed by the quality l. However, this time was different. Everything was very fresh, hot and served the way it was supposed to taste. Meats were moist and juicy and not hard and dried out like many other buffets. They have a great selection of traditional Asian dishes well as a sushi, poke and stir fry station. The place was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I know they just opened yesterday but in my experience those are the roughest days since most businesses are still tying to get the kinks out. Price was what was expected for a Sunday dinner buffet. I went to Lynn's grand buffet this morning about 11:15 AM. I was so looking forward to some excellent Chinese food. Unfortunately, my experience was not stellar, it wasn't even ordinary. I couldn't get into the grand buffet because the doors by the handicapped entrance were locked. No problem I figured I'd just call and ask someone maybe they could help me out. Unfortunately, when I called the person who answered the phone was very aggressive and told me that I wasn't parking in the right or the correct handicap spot even though there were signs right in front of where I parked handicapped parking. So I asked her can you tell me when you'll ever open those doors or do you just open them later during the day because as a disabled person I can't walk in. No reply just like she was reading off a script. She kept stating where some of the handicap spots were located that was odd. I didn't ask that question. If you're disabled or handicapped in any way, you might have second thoughts about going to this buffet. There are so many other great Chinese restaurants in Tucson that actually care about the handicapped people that visit them. read more

The handicapped parking is on the south side and the entrance is on the north side---I found this out after I had already parked and disembarked on the south side ( I am disabled btw). I am Celiac, so buffets are typically a NO!! I went in planning to go right home just in case. It was my kiddos 20th birthday and I would not be a bummer for the evening, so I planned and ate what I hoped would be safe foods. I also cannot eat much at once, so the price for me alone would not normally be worth it. However, I ate the shrimp from the salad bar and some crawdads. I had some jalapeño shrimp also and some fruit and veg from the salad bar also. I had no issues with allergens. Not nuts or gluten. It was fairly close to the opening week and things may have changed. I would say if you're smart and cautious it may be okay for a celiac to eat. I enjoyed my food. All of the past reviews that have said that this place has decent service, great ambience, and good food is pretty true. Service could've been better, but overall it was good. There were a few times that our cups went completely dry and then it took the servers a few minutes to get around to us. I blame that on it being really late at night. The ambience is bright and clean, but it is very cafeteria. Not much artwork on any of the walls. Just white walls and glass. Clean. Food was cooked all the way through, tasted pretty fresh. And again decent. The reason I give this place three stars is because it's not the best. If I'd never gone to wok 'n' roll, then I'd probably love this place. Sadly the bad outweighs the good from our experience, that's why I'm not generous with the star rating so the manager cannot ignore it. The individuals at the front desk who took us to our table were very nice and respectful, nothing bad to say there. But when we got seated and headed to get food, there was a lot of (what looked like) good options. I tried multiple chicken dishes, but everything I got and cut open, was PINK, undercooked chicken. It made me nervous to try any pork or seafood. There's no rhyme or reason to the flow of the lines, I did what I thought was directionally correct but kept getting intensely rude stared from other people like I was in the way. Our server would touch base with every table besides ours asking if they needed drink refills and how their experience was going. It took walking back to the front server desk to get my tea and water refilled because our actually server didn't pay us any attention. On top of him being a server, it seemed he was also a busser. Touching many dirty dishes, putting his fingers into 5 dirty cups to carry them, not washing his hands one, but continuing to serve 'fresh drinks'. What a health code violation is the undercooked chicken didn't win that! Not even an hour after me and my grandma left, we had the worst stomach ache and our food basically went right through us. Gross food and environment, piss poor table service, and disgusting mannerisms. They don't deserve your praise or $. They deserve an F rating from the health department. read more
