The oyster shooter with Bloody Mary mix also delicious! The fish sandwich was just okay. I added cheese which helped immensely. The filet fell apart as soon as you bite into it which was annoying bc it was very messy. The fries were okay. I wanted a side salad instead of the fries, but it was a $4 up charge which I thought was crazy! The monsoon spicy margarita was good. The plain margarita not so much. Server was great! Solid spot for good food and excellent drinks Stopped in at Trident Grill recently and had a very enjoyable meal overall. The food was really good -- the burger was nicely charred with fresh toppings and came out hot and flavorful. The fries were crispy, and that big pickle on the side was a nice touch. Everything on the plate hit the mark. Service was attentive and friendly, and the drinks were excellent. The beer was perfectly poured and ice-cold, and the soda was refreshing -- exactly what you want with a meal like this. The atmosphere is classic sports-bar vibes with plenty of TVs showing games, which is great if you're there to watch. This restaurant is often mentioned on foodies of Tucson Facebook group, especially when somebody asks for recommendation for fish and chips. So I ordered it but I was disappointed. My daughter and I stopped by Trident Grill for dinner after our workout, and we were genuinely impressed. The atmosphere was lively with the football game on, but the highlight of our visit was our server, Thalia. She was outstanding from start to finish, patient while I took my time deciding, incredibly informative, and genuinely personable. She never rushed us and made excellent recommendations. I kept going back and forth between the Paleo Bowl, a salad, the Reuben, the clam chowder, and even the chicken tenders. In the end, I went with the Reuben, and Thalia suggested adding a cup of soup on the side. Perfect call. I also tried the tenders, and they were delicious. I was coming in from Colorado and wanted to watch the Nuggets game while we waited to check in to our hotel and a friend suggested this place a s a great sports bar for a game. I feel like I have been here before many many years ago before I moved to Colorado but it felt like the first time because I don't remember anything about it. We were greeted immediately and the service was great the whole time. She was always checking on us to make sure our beers didn't get low and if we wanted more food. We had the chicken skewers with a Thai peanut sauce that was to die for. I could drink that sauce. It went to well with the tender chicken bites. We didn't order any other food, but based on that dish I would go back for sure. Good location and ample parking. Worst service and seafood food ever! As for the ambiance, daily old men drinking at the bar. I tried many times to get the bartender's attention but they were more interested in the seemingly 'regulars" at the bar. I didn't come for the bar. I came for the seafood. It's a narrow long bar with tables along the wall. What I've read, the fish dishes were supposed to be very good. So we went for it. For an appetizer, we ordered the wings and fried Calamari. Both were beyond horrible, dry as the desert sand and over cooked. On to the our main lunch, my co-worker had the clam chowder and I had the "Crispy Alaskan Cod". My co-worker from NY stated that the clam chowder tasted like it came from a can and the Alaskan Cod seemed pre-frozen prepackaged from any supermarket. Frozen food is not an issue, but I asked my server if it was fresh or frozen, she said fresh. Hardly. I should have stayed with my original choices of going to mexican seafood places when in town with actually fresh fish. South Tucson has amazing seafood if you are willing to try them. The shrimp skewers were deemed delicious, while the chicken were tasty, but on the dry side. The bacon BLT was enjoyed and had lots of bacon. Fish and chips best in Tucson? Maybe, but nothing compared to dining on the coast. You just can't replicate "from the fishermen". I mean the fish was very good. Crunchy batter and somewhat flaky cod inside. But they weren't fillets, rather they were shaped like giant fish sticks. You could get 2 for $18, or 3 for $20. Order included a huge side of chips, fried perfectly, actually the star of the show. Maryland Crab cakes were delicious! Best part of the meal. Fish tacos were swimming in coleslaw which I have never imagined on a fish taco. My husband ordered the fish and chips, substituting sweet potato fries. But the food was great, calamari was nice and crispy and cooked well, came with marinara and cocktail sauce, and fish and chips was amazing. Crispy and delicious and very meaty, and the burger. OMG the blue cheese and the horseradish sauce was perfect. Definitely my new burger. All in all food was great, AC worked great, had lots of TV to enjoy and was relaxing. Prices could be better, but the service is completely lacking. If that's one thing that will mess up a good food experience and that's poor customer service. Although we'd recommend the food, be prepared to wait and to get lack luster service. A really solid place to watch a game. It's a fun atmosphere with lots of TVs although not all of the booths are very well positioned to see them. I've been a few times in the staff has never been short of excellent. They are kind and attentive every time. The food is great too. The prices are a little bit towards the upper end of your average sports bar, but you will not be disappointed with the meals. The burgers and buttermilk tenders are flavorful and always have been cooked perfectly. Buffalo style Mac-N-Cheese was a big hit as well. read more
