    We came here for Valentine's Day dinner which is also our wedding anniversary. We made an early reservation at 4pm and it was a nice easy in and out. The food was great! Easily the best pizza I've had in Tucson. It was even better the next day! My husband got the prime rib dip sammie it was 24$ and there was not $24 worth of meat on the sandwich, that was our only negative. Otherwise our server was excellent the taste of the food was excellent and the restaurant is nice with a nice bar and outdoor seating. We will be back!

    Had the opportunity to try Doughbird today. From what I gathered, they've been in Tucson for about two years and are part of a smaller chain operating in three states. The space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully laid out, with an open feel and a cool sports bar area. Service was friendly and attentive--our server did a great job. The food was tasty, but I didn't feel it was a good value for the price. In my opinion, each entrée was about $5 higher than fair. The mac & cheese was flavorful, and the chicken fingers had great texture and taste, but for $20 there wasn't much meat. I understand prices have risen everywhere, but this still felt excessive. I'd be willing to come back and try something different if friends wanted to go, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

    Enjoyed Doughbird as part of Sonoran Restaurant Week. They were offering a great deal with items that can be regularly found on their menu. So first up we picked the appetizer of chicken wings. You can choose dry rub or buffalo sauce and our amazing server Matthew recommended dry rub with buffalo sauce on side. Follow this advice!! The wings are not scrawny and the dry rub gets a crispy skin with good bite, then dipping into sauce gives extra flavor with as my daughter pointed out, less mess. Sauce had nice kick to it. For entrees the daughter picked the spicy pasta and I got a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was huge! Enough for a second meal. It has the smaller pepperoni pieces on it, that bake to that nice crispy fry which is so much better than large greasy pieces. Good crust. The daughters pasta was good, and a healthy recommended serving size (ie, she ate a slice of my pizza after ) but it came with a lot of sauce, which was nice to dip the pizza crust into. The sonoran week special ends with a dessert, and once again took Matthew's recommendation of the butterscotch cake with vanilla bean gelato. The gelato was delicious, nice and smooth. The butterscotch cake had a crunchy outside with a moist inside, covered in sauce. If the daughter hadn't been so full she would have licked the plate. Will be back to try the chicken sandwich, which Matthew highly recommended. Ambiance is also lovely and the patio is great for beautiful days/evenings.

    I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. The food was outstanding. The service was excellent and they have a large dog friendly patio that welcomed my 97 poodle. The staff was super friendly and they even let me order some chicken for my dog. Which was so good that I even had to steal the bite. I will nut. The dog was not happy. Definitely coming back to this place.

    Service was amazing. My mom and I sat at the bar. Attentive and courteous. We ordered Moscow mules on happy hr ($8). It was tasty. I would try something else next time. We also decided on the Black truffle mushroom pizza (Chicago) and the chicken wings (wet). These are my go to and holy moly. Just as good as I remember. I do wish the wings were a little crispier. But the flavor for both were OUTSTANDING. This is the best pizza on the menu imho and the wings are just perfectly seasoned and the buffalo sauce is so interesting. The menu has changed. They've added truffle fries and some cocktails I didn't recognize. I will have to come back to see what is new!

    Pretty expensive for what it is. My friends like this restaurant though so we met for dinner. We ordered a margherita pizza and chicken tenders. Both were very good. Tenders come with an incredible coleslaw, very fresh and beautifully seasoned. Pizza was super tasty. Their Detroit style crust rocks. We topped it off with their brookie. Now that was a mistake. It is unnecessarily super duper sweet. I liked the chewiness of some parts of it whereas other parts were hard and crunchy. Service was pretty attentive until we were abandoned by our waitress after we paid the bill. We set for about an hour afterwards just catching up. It would have been nice if were offered some more water

    This place is a staple in the north side for sure. Today came in at 5:25pm and man did it get so busy so fast on a Thursday. Definitely might have to wait during the dinner hour but inside is nice. Casual but also classy with a large bar and open kitchen. Food is always good, but I do think the prices are a bit high. I ordered the chicken parm with truffle orzo and that orzo was DELICIOUS! Hefty price of $26 for the meal but was very delicious so if you want to fork out the money it's a good choice. We always order the shishito for a starter and comes with a very unique, creamy umami sauce. We will be back!

    Had a great experience at dough Bird! The kids meals were very generous and they were elated to see that it came with a choice of a lemonade or a soda. Do barbecue chicken pizza was very good. The sauce wasn't too sweet, the chicken was moist and the crust had a wonderful texture to it. We had ordered a salad as an appetizer, I believe it was a brussel sprouts driven dish and I would say was bad but it wasn't very memorable either. Either. I think the pizza is what really shined, and I'm eager to try them again and maybe sample some of the more chicken forward food. The ambiance was beautiful inside. We had to have them remove the wine glasses because our kids were with us but they felt very fancy. Overall it was a delightful evening and I will be back

    I said I would go back to Doughbird and did so with a friend that had never been to this place. We were greeted by Austin (Mixologist) and seated, with our menus. Friend wanted to try a cocktail but hadn't decided which one so Austin brought our water and then came back after a few minutes. We ordered our food and the cocktail. Austin was really nice and patient with us. Friend said the drink was good. The food came fairly quickly. The Parmesan Truffle french fries were delicious; hot, crispy, and flavorful. The truffle sauce was really good. I ordered the Tuna Sashimi salad; friend had the Caesar salad with crispy chicken. My salad had a touch too much dressing but was still very good. This place is consistent with its high quality of food. Having Austin take care of us was an extra bonus. Our lunch was a bit pricey, but with the cocktail it did drive the price up. Love this place!

    Still a big fan of Doughbird (love the mozzarella sticks, pizza and pastas,) but this time I want to shout out the seasonal special that will be back in the fall, the Grateful Plateful. This meal includes rotisserie chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts and winter squash, rosemary stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce and it's absolutely delicious. It also includes generous portions of all for a really nice price. I'm already counting down the days until Grateful Plateful makes its way back onto the menu.

    Because of my career responsibilities with travel, we always celebrate Mother's Day one week later. This year my wife wanted to eat at Doughbird, so with my mom and son we came here for a pleasant Sunday afternoon and ate outside. Our waiter was pleasant, and our food was flavorful. Some of the names for the dishes are questionable. For example, naming a salad "Ingredient" is neither creative, clever, or helpful. The stars of the course were the truffle cheese bread, and what I think is the best dessert in Tucson, the warm butterscotch cake.

    We did a group event here for dinner one night. We were all excited to go as none of us have ever been here. It is a large restaurant, and the seating is great with spacing and not bumping in to one another. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean as was the rest rooms. Hostesses seemed a bit confused though when we walked in, even though we had reservations. But they quickly got everything together for us and it worked just fine. The service on the other hand was horrible! The waiter forgot two of our orders completely. He took only part of the tables' orders and then walked off! We had to flag him down to get him to resume taking our order. I was so disappointed in the service here. The only thing i can say is go in with high expectations on the food, but not the service. This makes for a pleasant dining experience.

Everything was flavorful, our experience would have been better if we were able to get in and out a little quicker.

Once the pizza came, we got up ourselves to ask for more oil and parmesan, since our waiter hadn't come to check back. We got the oil instantly since we brought us the bowl, but no parmesan. At one point my son asked for bread, again, finally it came and the server literally tossed it on the table without a word. We said thank you and he completely ignored all of us. It didn't get any better from there. The bill was dropped on the table without a word either. My husband and I kept looking at each other with confused looks. We turned the bill in with our CC, and once the server returned it, same thing, not a single interaction. We also watched the same server make another table feel like an inconvenience over something as simple as asking for a bottle of Coke instead of a can. The customer ended up backing down just to avoid the hassle. The server then told the guest, "it's fine, I can get it for you!" On top of that, staff were wearing gloves while handling food, but also touching chairs, phones, and other surfaces; kind of defeats the purpose I think? My boys also had a weird interaction with a staff near the bathrooms who was very rude to them and accused them of cutting the line, despite no one waiting. It was very strange. It wasn't busy when we visited, and it seemed like the employee rotating pizzas was a little more focused on chatting with FOH coworkers than keeping an eye on the oven. I've worked in pizza restaurants for nearly a decade, so I may be a bit more particular than most customers. Realistically, if our pizza had come out even a minute earlier, it would have been a 10/10 meal. That said, I enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. The quality is there, and I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

Service was great and everything tasted super fresh. We ordered the Meatballs & Jalapeño Cream, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Garlic Knots, Papas con Queso Pizza, Penne Arrabbiata, and Tiramisu. Everything was amazing but my favorites had to be the meatballs and the pizza. Only downside was that they were out of lemonade, which I really wanted to try. The atmosphere is quaint and quiet with nice private booths for a very relaxing dining experience! We also 'LOVE' the fact that kids under 12 years of age are not allowed in the dining room but can be seated outside on the patio. Our waitress for the event was no other than 'Renee' the long time owner and she was AMAZING! So thoughtful and funny to chat with about her amazing food selection. Guy Fieri with 'DDD', also know as 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives visited her restaurant in 2018 with great reviews......he kinda knows Great Italian! We loved all the dishes as the 'Renee Sauce' is so tasty and delicious. The pizza was awesome as was the lasagna.....but the 'Flowerless Cake' was OMG total 'FLAVORTOWN' as Guy would say! After a bit, a customer at the bar greeted us and gave us a tip on how big the slices of pizza were. Soon after, we realized where the menus were, followed by a server at the bar greeting us and giving us information. I was glad for his help, but there was a good whike in between that I feel was a little weird and lacking of service. They have a small indoor seating area where you can also get fountain drinks, as well as an outside covered patio that has a couple ceiling heaters throughout . You order at a window near the bar, then seat yourself. Your food is done brought to you. We attempted to order a couple slices of the specialty pizza, only to be told that the specialty pizzas could only be ordered as a whole pie. So we ordered a 12 inch pizza half company combo and half carnivore. We also got an order of the sweet chili wings . The sweet chili wings were cool, not bad, but also nothing to brag about. The pizza I was actually disappointed in... it reminded me of pizza from the frozen aisle at the grocery store. It was thin and had a crunch at the bottom. I will say that I like my pizza dough, thicker, so that probably affected my opinion of their pizza as well. Glad I tried it, but don't think I will be back.

    Clearly Anello has taken the crown for the best pizza in Tucson. They are hard to find (no…read moresignage) and have a limited menu, but what they do, they do extremely well. This is not the kind of pizza you want to carry out. The bottom crust is so thin and delicate, it will wet out in 15 minutes. This is pizza you order and eat on-premises immediately. I ate my pizza in a fashion I have never done before - I broke off a piece of the outside crust to use as a carrier for a piece of filling. This worked well. The crust is perfectly light and airy. Next time I have to try a loaf of their bread - it looked incredible. If you are a pizza purist you will love this place.

I have had Italian chickpea based Farinata before on it's own when I made it at home or inside a delicious sandwich on a connection at the Rome airport and I thought they did a really good job frying the Pannisa here. I also liked the sauce they serve it with here: tart sauce with basil and herbs. I felt the the serving size was small for $8 . I enjoyed trying it here but will probably not get it more than once at that price per serving size. They serve it with cheese typically but I asked for no cheese to make it vegan. The guy that took my order at the window seemed very confused/ weirded out when I asked if they charge a fee to pay with credit card. He generally wasn't very helpful or communicative and seemed generally bothered by questions. He also didn't think to mention they don't have disposable silverware for to go order (my pannisa was drenched in sauce- delicious but I definitely ended up going inside to eat it with a fork). Another staff member seemed more pleasant though and more willing to answer basic questions politely. On another earlier visit I tried their focaccia. It is a sourdough focaccia with roasted red pepper jam, rosemary and garlic. Typically it has ricotta too which I asked to remove. I loved the dough and garlic. The jam was good too, maybe a tad sweet for me though. It reminded me a tad of sweet and sour sauce. They have a margarita pizza without cheese available on the menu too. I didn't try these yet but liked seeing that they served some interesting non alcoholic beverages like cocoa soda with cocoa husk or cola dosa with Guajillo chiles and citrus. From what I tried and seen on the menu it feels that they serve good quality food and drinks. Service can definitely be improved. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
