We went here because the other 2 places we tried going to were too long of a line (they just opened). We were pleasantly surprised with this place. I had heard about it once in passing but never really looked it up or anything. Every employee we came in contact with was so very nice and helpful when it came to our kids. I loved how the interior looked and it's nice and bright inside from natural lighting from the windows. The food was outstanding. There was not a bad thing to say about anything in our experience. We came here for Valentine's Day dinner which is also our wedding anniversary. We made an early reservation at 4pm and it was a nice easy in and out. The food was great! Easily the best pizza I've had in Tucson. It was even better the next day! My husband got the prime rib dip sammie it was 24$ and there was not $24 worth of meat on the sandwich, that was our only negative. Had the opportunity to try Doughbird today. From what I gathered, they've been in Tucson for about two years and are part of a smaller chain operating in three states. The space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully laid out, with an open feel and a cool sports bar area. Service was friendly and attentive--our server did a great job. The food was tasty, but I didn't feel it was a good value for the price. In my opinion, each entrée was about $5 higher than fair. The mac & cheese was flavorful, and the chicken fingers had great texture and taste, but for $20 there wasn't much meat. I understand prices have risen everywhere, but this still felt excessive. Enjoyed Doughbird as part of Sonoran Restaurant Week. They were offering a great deal with items that can be regularly found on their menu. So first up we picked the appetizer of chicken wings. You can choose dry rub or buffalo sauce and our amazing server Matthew recommended dry rub with buffalo sauce on side. Follow this advice!! The wings are not scrawny and the dry rub gets a crispy skin with good bite, then dipping into sauce gives extra flavor with as my daughter pointed out, less mess. Sauce had nice kick to it. For entrees the daughter picked the spicy pasta and I got a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was huge! Enough for a second meal. It has the smaller pepperoni pieces on it, that bake to that nice crispy fry which is so much better than large greasy pieces. Good crust. The daughters pasta was good, and a healthy recommended serving size (ie, she ate a slice of my pizza after ) but it came with a lot of sauce, which was nice to dip the pizza crust into. The sonoran week special ends with a dessert, and once again took Matthew's recommendation of the butterscotch cake with vanilla bean gelato. The gelato was delicious, nice and smooth. The butterscotch cake had a crunchy outside with a moist inside, covered in sauce. If the daughter hadn't been so full she would have licked the plate. I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. The food was outstanding. The service was excellent and they have a large dog friendly patio that welcomed my 97 poodle. The staff was super friendly and they even let me order some chicken for my dog. Which was so good that I even had to steal the bite. I will nut. The dog was not happy. We also decided on the Black truffle mushroom pizza (Chicago) and the chicken wings (wet). These are my go to and holy moly. Just as good as I remember. I do wish the wings were a little crispier. But the flavor for both were OUTSTANDING. This is the best pizza on the menu imho and the wings are just perfectly seasoned and the buffalo sauce is so interesting. The menu has changed. Pretty expensive for what it is. My friends like this restaurant though so we met for dinner. We ordered a margherita pizza and chicken tenders. Both were very good. Tenders come with an incredible coleslaw, very fresh and beautifully seasoned. Pizza was super tasty. Their Detroit style crust rocks. We topped it off with their brookie. Now that was a mistake. It is unnecessarily super duper sweet. I liked the chewiness of some parts of it whereas other parts were hard and crunchy. This place is a staple in the north side for sure. Today came in at 5:25pm and man did it get so busy so fast on a Thursday. Definitely might have to wait during the dinner hour but inside is nice. Casual but also classy with a large bar and open kitchen. Food is always good, but I do think the prices are a bit high. I ordered the chicken parm with truffle orzo and that orzo was DELICIOUS! Hefty price of $26 for the meal but was very delicious so if you want to fork out the money it's a good choice. We had ordered a salad as an appetizer, I believe it was a brussel sprouts driven dish and I would say was bad but it wasn't very memorable either. Either. I said I would go back to Doughbird and did so with a friend that had never been to this place. We were greeted by Austin (Mixologist) and seated, with our menus. Friend wanted to try a cocktail but hadn't decided which one so Austin brought our water and then came back after a few minutes. We ordered our food and the cocktail. Austin was really nice and patient with us. Friend said the drink was good. The food came fairly quickly. The Parmesan Truffle french fries were delicious; hot, crispy, and flavorful. The truffle sauce was really good. I ordered the Tuna Sashimi salad; friend had the Caesar salad with crispy chicken. My salad had a touch too much dressing but was still very good. This place is consistent with its high quality of food. Having Austin take care of us was an extra bonus. Our lunch was a bit pricey, but with the cocktail it did drive the price up. As if really good pizza wasn't enough, Doughbird provides THE BEST customer service I've experienced in a very long time. The staff/management are all so friendly, professional, knowledgeable about the menu items, and accommodating. We had the Pepperoni with Fresh Mozzarella, Copper Hat, and BBQ Chicken (GF crust) pizzas and they were all fantastic. The Copper Hat was a standout for me. They should change the name to "Slowbird"! I made a reservation for myself, asked for a booth and sat down and waited and waited and waited. Finally after 15-20 minutes a perky waiter showed up and said "How's it going "? Answer" Not very well!!" This waiting continued through my drink refill and pizza. The pizza is drowding in dough. We were greatly disappointed yesterday with our experience at Doughbird on Campbell. We've been here before and looked forward to great service and wonderful food, but this didn't happen. I understand the brunch was busy but please prepare for crowds. Our service was mediocre. No checking on our table of six. No refills offered. The milk for my grandson never arrived. The food was not anything special. The Mediterranean salad was drenched with dressing and no pita bread ever arrived. The carmelized cauliflower was a disappointment as too much watery liquid made it soggy. It was an unfortunate experience with both service and food quality. read more

We did a group event here for dinner one night. We were all excited to go as none of us have ever been here. It is a large restaurant, and the seating is great with spacing and not bumping in to one another. The food was very good. The restaurant was clean as was the rest rooms. Hostesses seemed a bit confused though when we walked in, even though we had reservations. But they quickly got everything together for us and it worked just fine. The service on the other hand was horrible! The waiter forgot two of our orders completely. He took only part of the tables' orders and then walked off! We had to flag him down to get him to resume taking our order. I was so disappointed in the service here. The only thing i can say is go in with high expectations on the food, but not the service. They specialize in pizza and chicken hence the name. Definitely try out their thin crust pizza, I got their Hawaiian version. It has a kick to it but it's not that hot. The place is very popular that parking is hard to come by so arrive early. I think it's because they are next to Flower Child, another restaurant so it's easy to get confused on which restaurant to go to. They have outdoor seating as well which I highly recommend while the weather is cool. For our group of 6, we were lucky to get a sample of their thin crust pizza because their kitchen staff made one extra by mistake, it's part of the reason why I ordered one for myself. If you have a sweet tooth, they do offer a small selection of desserts, I got their peanut butter cookie. It's a combination of a brownie and a cookie, it's definitely worth a try. read more

I had a great meal at doughbird! The atmosphere and service was great. I ordered half Hawaiian, half barbecue chicken on detroit style pizza. The crust was amazing!! The edges were crispy but the center was light and soft. I appreciated that the pizza wasn't too dense- something i've had an issue with other Detroit style pizzas. I wish there was a little more sauce, but not a big issue at all!! My boyfriend ordered the aviator. Nothing too special with the toppings but very tasty! Some die hard napoleon pizza fans may disagree, but I think the flavor and crust are perfect, when cooked a little longer and there's some char. The pot pie has a yummy buttery crust. Brought a friend here for lunch yesterday. Was yapping to her about how great the pizza was when I went last. We ordered deep fried mozzarella as a starter. They were perfectly hot and crispy and came with a standard marinara sauce. Very delicious! She ordered a margherita pizza hand-tossed and I ordered, hands down, the best salad I have had in a long, long time. I usually don't steer from my yoozh, which is a caesar salad, but I felt like shaking things up a bit and experimented. Best recent decision of my life ordering the Ingredient Salad. I expected big chunks of sweet potato, weird quinoa, and too much sweetened stuff and just all these separate flavors. But the menu copy is very basic. The salad is a chopped salad so you can gather a perfect bit of everything. The dressing is perfectly balanced, not too vinegary or mustardy. I can't say enough, about all things, a frickin salad but I honestly cannot wait to have it again. Caesar, I love you, but I think it's time to dump you, at least here. The restaurant wasn't unmanageably busy for a Monday lunch imo. The parking lot seemed crowded as always but there we found space. Our server was on point. People sitting at tables next to the window either get a view out the window or in at other tables. This is so much better than restaurants where one side of the table gets stuck staring at a wall. Service was truly excellent by Zander. He even was able to get the ingredients of the dessert options so I could choose one without a specific dietary restriction. The truffle cheese bread was good but that's the only culinary choice I liked. I ordered the grilled Chilean salmon dish. The salmon eaten alone was drenched in salt. It tasted like they poured a bottle of salt on it. The accompanying sauce and couscous eaten alone was so sweet it made me nauseous. The greens that came with it were drenched in too much lemon. The BBQ chicken pizza my friend ordered was too sweet as well. So was the lemon pie. The spicy blackberry margarita was good but too spicy. The next one we ordered without the spice and was not good at all. Very syrupy. I guess the spice took away from that. We both ordered their delightful gin and tonic and thought it was extremely bitter. The Raven and Geary Margarita tasted like salt water. The Local without grapefruit was super bitter. read more

Would definitely order again. My entree was the chicken parmesean. Another nice sized portion that I was able to split and take home. Consistent thickness with the right amount of sauce and cheese and not too much breading. Only problem was this one was also very salty, but I would try it again. The orzo was also cooked perfectly and was nice and creamy. Also have a picture of the chicken tenders which were positively rated and the butterscotch cake. Others at the table spoke favorably about the salmon amd th3 rotisserie chicken as well. It's a nice change if you're looking for some variety. Give them a shot. We had a great experience here for lunch, with our pups, on NYE. I like that you can make a reservation, I also like that their patio is dog friendly (and so are the servers!) Super cool vibe and tables spaced out (yeah, that is a thing for me). Our server was fantastic and took great care of us, and brought water for our dogs. I ordered their cocktail "The Local" which was delicious. We ordered the Brussels appetizer, a burger, a Detroit style pizza and topped it off with the Butterscotch Cake.
