Unfortunately, after establishing itself in the neighborhood, the quality and service at this market have gone extremely downhill.
Last year, I wrote to Lincoln Market via the business website, stating that the sale items were ringing up at higher prices than the listed sale price. I mentioned that I hoped this was a mistake and not Lincoln Market's participation in a predatory business practice (which other markets in the area have definitely engaged in, in my experience). The Lincoln Market representative who replied to me assured me this was a mistake and that Lincoln Market does not engage in such deceptive practices. However, since my complaint a year ago, I've experienced even more of the same issue. Additionally, some items that are listed as on sale, ring up at the register with the regular (non-sale) price. Furthermore, I noticed that sale prices aren't as low as they used to be. The sale price of one pint of Ben & Jerry's used to be $4 (two for $8). Now the sale price is $5+. Lastly, this market has started removing the more affordable items from the shelves. For example, last week I went to buy a box of macaroni and cheese. Among the brands listed, one was much cheaper than the rest (Mac A Roni by the Rice A Roni company), which was the one I bought. When I went back yesterday (9/6/25), Lincoln Market had taken all of the Mac A Roni brand boxes off of the shelves, seemingly no longer carrying it because customers would obviously opt for the cheaper priced item and are now forced to buy the more expensive one (Kraft Mac & Cheese). I noticed this happening with other items as well, such as the Amy's Brand 4 Cheese Pizza (listed at $9.99 while the other flavors were all $12.49), as well as the ricotta cheese (there used to be a $3 brand, in addition to the Galbani and Polly-O brands which are $6+). Two of my most recent negative experiences happened last week, as well as earlier today (9/7/25).
Last week, I ordered a sandwich at the deli counter. I ordered the #12 on a roll which is listed as $6.99. When I went to the register to pay, I noticed that the deli worker put a label on my sandwich for $7.99 (which I immediately brought to the attention of a cashier in the check-out area who agreed with me that the sandwich was mis-priced). The other items I purchased that day were three cans of Poppi brand soda which are listed as 3/$5. Typically, the items ring up $1.67 for the first two cans and the last is $1.66 (which in total adds up to $5). However, the cans all rang up as $1.67, making them 3/$5.01 instead of 3/$5.
Today (9/7/25), I had more issues. the Nature Valley Biscuits with Peanut Butter (sale price listed as 2/$7) rang up $5.99, while the Almond Butter flavor rang up at the correct price ($3.50). When I called the cashier over, I told her I didn't want the peanut butter flavor as they were mis-priced. When she went to take them off of my bill, she tried to take off the almond butter flavor instead, trying to leave the mis-priced peanut butter flavor on my bill, until I called her out on it. I also rung up Stouffer's frozen Fettuccine Alfredo and Mac & Cheese which were all listed as 2/$6 on the freezer door. The fettuccine rang up as $3.50 and the mac & cheese rang up at the correct price of $3. I had to call a different cashier over to void the fettuccine, as the other cashier had left the front area. The same thing happened with these items that happened with the biscuits. The cashier tried to leave the more expensive mis-priced fettuccine and tried to remove the mac & cheese instead. Based on the fact that two different cashiers used the same deceptive tactic to void items off my bill, I'm concluding that Lincoln Market is both engaging in and training employees in deceptive business practices - customers beware. read more
