Supermarket. EXCELLENT. A local neighborhood institution providing quality GREEK Foods for the community. Established in 1974 with another location in ASTORIA on 30 AVENUE. Usually prefer to purchase Baked Goods, Cheeses, Coffee and Sweets from this Supermarket. RECOMMEND.

The supermarket has a little bit of everything including some produce. They also have a great variety of baking needs, I would say a lot more than most local supermarkets. They have many Greek delicacies here and they also have a bakery section with some divine sweet and savory items for purchase . Around the holiday season, you'll find the infamous coin cake available . It's very close walking distance from Ditmars Boulevard and they also have a small parking lot in front which is nice if you have a quick run to make or you purchase a cart full.

This supermarket has such a great selection in the area, and the prices were super affordable (ex. I got cans of Harissa here for 1.55$ each while at another store they would have cost 2.00$). Moreover, everyone, staff and customers, were really smiley and kind. It made for a great shopping experience that was low stress. It also seemed as if the customers knew each other, and made it feel like a community staple.

Great selection of items, especially cheeses (multiple fetas!) and super olive/peppers bar.

It's one of those cheese shops where you'll smell the cheese before you see it- that wafting smell is indeed incredible haha. There is a very generous selection of cheeses here & I'm sure anyone can find a cheese that they like (& if you don't like cheese, whyyyy)! The employee & I believe owner Abraham was amazing & super attentive & patient with my indecisiveness. I chose a variety of cheeses to take home with my favorite easily being the 3 year aged comté. All in all, albeit this cheese shop is a bit secluded it's worth the visit!

Don't expect warm conversation -- unless you're the cheddar. There are free samples, which I respect. If you're feeling broke and brave, you could turn it into a little snack crawl. And the cheese? It's fine. Not bad. Not transcendent. Just... cheese. Maybe you'll find something aged and interesting, or maybe you'll walk out wondering if Trader Joe's would've hit the same for less. This class just did not need the standards of other classes I've gone to. The reason I gave this 3-stars is because what you get for $100 is just not worth the price, plus the final product was inedible. The class consists of giving you flour and eggs to make the pasta, then roll it (which was super rushed), a "cheese tasting" (three tiny portions of cheese with some pesto) and unlimited wine (sparking white and red). You then bring the pasta home to cook it (with the instructions to use a fork if you haven't had enough time to roll your dough, which some didn't). I made the pasta when I got home and it was completely inedible as was the person's I went with. The instructor was nice and the room is beautiful, which is why I added a few stars. They're also great about making sure that your wine is filled up. Overall, I would not recommend for this price, especially when the end product was a throwaway.

I've been coming in here since I've lived in Astoria (that's almost 15 years) and every time I visit I find something new to try. Their heroes are delicious - the Italian sub has everything you could want on it, the eggplant parm hero is big enough to feed a small army. Service is friendly even when it's packed. Sorriso is an Italian deli offering tons of Italian products, specialty meats, homemade mozzarella, sandwiches, snacks, and more! We were in the mood for some delicious Italian subs and came here to satisfy that craving. I got the Italian Turkey Combo but swapped out the Salami & Ham for Roast Beef since I don't eat pork. The turkey and roast beef were sliced fresh onto the bread, the toppings were all super fresh and added so much depth to the sandwich. I will say the bread was a bit hard and didn't seem like it was made fresh that day. The sandwich also could've used some mayo and pickles. I added some mayo when I got home and got a side of pickles which were actually outstanding! They were briny, salty, and crisp. It added a nice texture and flavor the sandwich was lacking. As we were finishing up, the worker stopped by and offered us some complimentary Fresh Mozzarella which melted in my mouth immediately. I would absolutely come back for that and try out their other speciality items. Great try!
