The registration staff were fast, efficient, and made the check-in process completely smooth. Before I knew it I was being triaged by an outstanding nurse, RN RYAN, and was then assigned to my primary nurse, RN Brian, who was professional and attentive the whole time. Dr. Nguyen and the entire emergency department provided excellent care. The team worked seamlessly together, communicated clearly, and treated me with respect and compassion. I'm highly impressed and deeply grateful for such an amazing team at La Palma Hospital. Highly recommended.

Despite bringing my concerns to the attention of at least six different nurses, no one appeared to properly document the issue or initiate treatment. To make matters worse, her essential medication for tremors was discontinued during her stay. Neither the family nor our care team was notified of this change. As a result, her condition worsened significantly. Because of her tremors, she requires assistance with meals. On multiple occasions, meals were left for her without adequate support, leaving her unable to eat independently. Our caregivers had to come to the hospital in shifts just to ensure she was fed. After escalating my concerns, I spoke directly with Risk Management and the House Supervisor. While they stated they would investigate the situation, no one ever took accountability for the breakdowns in care or communicated any meaningful findings from their review. As someone responsible for coordinating care for vulnerable seniors, I found the lack of communication, documentation, and follow-through extremely concerning. Patients and families deserve better. I sincerely hope the hospital reviews its processes to ensure future patients do not experience similar gaps in care.

Immediate is defined as "occurring, acting, or accomplished without loss or interval of time." My wife's visit to the emergency room makes no sense to me. Her primary care physician's nurse told her to make an appointment with a doctor (with first available appointment in 4 days), or go to the ER. We chose the ER, but, not before sending me to the gym to exercise, so that she could fix her hair. I understand the ER has more equipment than doctor's office, and even urgent care. It seemed wrong to go to the ER when it was not an emergency. St. Jude ER was vastly different from the ER in Canada that we just visited, where it was a real emergency. We showed up at 5PM and registered. The triage nurse saw us almost immediately. We saw the doctor within an hour. The doctor followed up on the care that my wife received in Canada and ordered a CT scan and some bloodwork. Everyone that we interacted with was nice and professional. They all knew what their job was. I'll take this over universal healthcare in Canada any day where it took 6 hours just to be triaged! Even though we spent four hours at the ER, the time went by quickly because the the process here at St. Jude is just so much better. It was a good experience. I don't want or need to experience them any more. Hopefully, I will never come back.

St. Jude Fullerton's ER demonstrated a serious breakdown in basic patient care. After misdiagnosing…read morethe same symptoms on 7/31 as a "pulled muscle," we returned on 8/10 with lung fluid confirmed by urgent care. The patient then endured seven hours of untreated chest pain because the ER doctor refused to act without radiology, which took ten hours to respond. Pain relief and antibiotics were only given after multiple complaints, and the doctor admitted he was "finally making a decision without radiologist confirmation." The pneumonia diagnosis confirmed after discharge. This level of delay, misjudgment, and lack of urgency is unacceptable for any emergency department. It's too bad I can't give a negative review. In addition, try speaking with Patient Care Relations only to be directed right away to voicemail with a message that call will be returned IN two days, not within two days.

I told them I was in the hospital in a bed with tubes connected to me. No toilet paper in any lobby restrooms, threatened by one bossy nurse when I questioned signing for the procedure that they weren't sure about which procedure they were giving me and she threatened to send me home. They even forgot to take off the EKG pads. Tried reaching someone to follow up after the fiasco and dealing with the unsafe environment , disorganized people and total confusion with individuals that should not be working there . Called the supervisor ( the person did call later that day), GI Dept., Risk Mgt., Quality Control and no one answers the phone, returns calls or you are told they are not sure who you should talk to. I felt unsafe there, knowing they didn't know what they were doing. I had filled out/given information 4 times and they had me do it again when I got there. When I asked why I was doing it again for the 4th time they ignored me. They couldn't figure out how to access it. This kind of horrible treatment happened a few years ago when Dr. Verma put 7/8 screws in my back and they came out within 2 weeks. The place is terribly managed, no supervision, lack of coordination and patients are treated like file numbers and in my case and my opinion, twice, unsafe for procedures and employees following responsibilities and having the proper knowledge .

I went in for a blood test and later received results, only to be told afterward that the results were incorrect and the test needed to be repeated due to an error on their end. Despite this, there was no clear explanation or follow-up from the clinic. After more than a month, we received a bill, which is what prompted us to call. During that call, there was no apology for the mistake, the delay, or the inconvenience we experienced. Instead, we were spoken to in a confrontational and argumentative manner, being told that because a visit took place, payment was required. It is deeply frustrating to go to a medical facility, pay for care, and then be left dealing with mistakes, poor communication, and an unpleasant attitude. Medical offices should take responsibility for their errors and treat patients with basic respect. I am leaving this review so others can avoid the same upsetting and uncomfortable experience.

If I could, I would only give Anaheim Global -0 stars for the facility and care. First... when he was checked in to the ER, he sat there for 14 to 15 hours waiting for a bed in the hospital. the only Dr. that saw him while he was in the ER was the ER Dr. and an occasional nurse. We meet up with him after he was checked in the ER, and I couldn't believe the condition of the facility, the area where he was being kept. His gurney had paint peeling off with rust showing at base of all of the supports that keep the patients from falling off the gurney. The rubber baseboards in the room were peeling from the wall and lifting from the floor. There was raw wood showing on the base of the cabinets. How do they sterilize this area with everything is deteriorating. Where is the Health Department on inspecting this ER? Second... when he was finally admitted into the behavior health section. We came back to visit with him. I couldn't believe the chaos in this ward. We couldn't go to see him in his room, so we had to meet with him in a communal rec room. No privacy, and he was so stressed from this place he walked out and left us and went back to his room. Both of us were so upset and stressed from the conditions and atmosphere of the facility we couldn't talk to each other on the way home. Before we left, we asked the charge nurse when the 72 hours started. she said when the Dr. evaluates him. Which wouldn't be until tomorrow sometime. The next day we contacted the charge nurse to get some more information regarding his stay, i.e. when does the 72 hours start? Has the Dr. seen him? This nurse said when he was checked in his 72 hours started, and the Dr. still hasn't seen him. Total Confusion with all concerned. On his suppose final day of stay, his case manager called my wife and said he will be checked out at 10 PM tonight, but they can't release him to go home until the following day. Why? Just to get additional money out of OC Health? I don't understand! The following day, in the morning, the case manager called my wife and told her the Dr. is going to place our son on a 5250 hold on him (an additional 14 days) for he is not ready to go home at this time. This was disappointing, because he was to return to work on the following Monday. We stressed this along with other concerns to the case manager. Then later in the morning, 11ish I believe, the case manager again called my wife and stated they were going to release him today, and we can come and pick him up at 12:15 PM. Which we did. This was a rude awaking for us as parents.... when we returned home, our son was totally stressed out from his stay at Anaheim Global, he told us what had been taken place in the ward, which was shocking. Patients were getting into fights; he stayed in his room the entire time he was there to keep away from all of the violence. He couldn't have a toothbrush to brush his teeth, so he never brushed his teeth while he was there for 4 1/2 days, he had 3 other roommates, one of the roommates was using the shower for a toilet, so our son didn't take any showers while he was there, because of the un-sanitary conditions, and one other roommate all he did was walk around the room talking to himself. Why does the Orange County Health Crisis Assessment Team contract with a facility of this nature? With the condition of the facility, un-sanitary conditions, and violence. It is totally unacceptable! If anyone reads this and has to have someone committed for a 5150-evaluation hold, ask where you are taking them and if they say Anaheim Global, request another hospital.
