They did a good job with my tuxedo I had purchased that needed to be taken in a bit. I wanted to share this review because there weren't many that had an alteration for a nice suit but they did a good job and had it done in a couple days. They are very kind and patient. I hate to post a less than positive review for a local business. I would say this Tailor shop is fairly low-priced and the owner? and her staff are friendly. I've used their services twice. The first time I had a dress altered to shorten the length of the straps. It was done acceptably although I could feel one side was a bit shorter when I was wearing the dress; however, it was not noticeable in looks. The second time I utilized their services, I was looking to tighten the sash I had for my wedding dress. This would be done by moving the buttons over. I took it to the shop and they suggested that it would be better to not sew it in a straight line parallel to the side as human waists will have a curve. This made sense to me and I still agree with their reasoning. However, I was extremely disappointed with their sloppy work in sewing the buttons on (please see pictures). I am a beginner amateur sewist so I theoretically could have just done this myself, but I received my dress just a few weeks before my wedding and I just preferred to pay someone more experienced to do this. Unfortunately I felt it was money wasted as I ended up redoing it. I think their work is passable and low cost, but I've visited seamstresses that have work that is far higher quality for not much higher of a price. read more

I had a very tricky uniform jumpsuit that needed altering, and I wasn't sure anyone would be able to get it right. The fit was complicated, but she did an amazing job! She took the time to really look at the details, explained what adjustments needed to be made, and made sure the finished product was both comfortable and professional-looking. When I picked it up, I was so impressed--the jumpsuit fit perfectly, like it was made for me. The craftsmanship was excellent, and you can tell she really cares about her work. They do a wonderful job here (I had a dress and some jeans hemmed and it was beautifully done) but highly overpriced for the services they provide. I later brought in a bridesmaids dress to be hemmed and she took one look at the dress and quoted me $95. When I asked if she could go down on the cost she said no but that I could think about it. Took it to another tailor in Sac who did the same job for $55. Don't be afraid to negotiate or ask for better prices. They do provide good services but honestly don't think their pricing is very fair. read more

Visited for the first time this week. The shop was busy. Non stop. Dawn however worked through their customers and was so friendly. The lead time was reasonable and the cost was as well. For the caliber work they are reviewed for doing consistently I am optimistic all will go well. I also heard Dawn manage expectations about lead times, as well as costs. I have a slight build. Shirts are often too baggy. Eden smalls. Looking forward to picking up my shirts and not having them look like hand me downs due to not fitting properly. read more

I brought in a dress to be hemmed and shortened slightly, and Linda Lee's did exactly that. For a dress with a few layers and straps that needed to be shortened, it came out to about $80 (slightly more than I expected). Overall, I'd return for any other articles of clothing that need to be altered. read more

I had a pair of tux pants and brought them to another tailor, and the result was not the best. I was never satisfied wearing them for my performances. I finally bought a new pair, and brought them to Linda Lee's as it's closeby to where I live. I was VERY happy with the result! They just seem like pants that were made just for me. The look is good. The fit is amazing! While they had my pants, I brought in a jacket a couple of days later, which they were able to match the timing to my pants avoiding a double trip for two different pieces of clothing. The jacket looks simply beautiful. Overall, wearing both those clothes, I just feel confident and can't wait to attend the gala I intend to showcase the outfit. The cost is a bit pricey. For me, hemming the pants and taking it in a bit was $46. The jacket sleeve shortening and taking it in a bit was $105. Total: $151. However, reading through average ranges, they fit within it. This tailor is located in a small shopping center with its own parking lot. The lot is small, but I had no issues finding a spot. I recommend calling before you go to ensure they are open. However for the past few weeks I've came and always stumbled on a sheet of paper like this where they list hours that are really variable. I'd suggest you text the number here for hours to confirm that they're open in the time that you plan on coming in. Linda was so nice and helpful! I brought in a dress that needed to be hemmed and seemed a little big on the top. Linda helped me adjust the straps at the top and gave me some suggestions so it could look less droopy on me, and we didn't need to end up hemming the dress or doing any alterations. I took in two blazers, a tan and a blue, that I wanted both of the arms to be shortened & tapered. She very politely explained that the tan blazer could only be shortened because of a double stitch and therefore couldn't be tapered but that there would be no problem with the blue blazer. WhenI came by to pick them up, I tried them on and noticed that the tan blazer with the double stitch was shortened as expected and fit perfectly. But the 2nd blue blazer that was supposed to be shortened and tapered, was only 'taken in' around the arms, but not tapered all the way down to the wrist. So the arm look like a 'bell' like bell bottoms. I explained that this isn't what I wanted. She proceeded to explain to me that what I'm asking for is a different type of alteration so it would be an additional cost. Of course I took exception and explained that it is not my responsibility to know exact procedure. I expect that the professional listen to my request, be clear and provide the necessary service. If anything, I was hoping they would recognize that they could've been more clear in explaining where the miscommunication is make the alteration. She seemed more interested in being correct over $20 rather than understanding my point of view and has now lost a customer. read more

I am vertically challenged. So a good seamstress or tailor is imperative. My previous tailor retired, so the past year I have been coming to Linda Lee's Alteration on Freeport Boulevard. She and her daughter, does an awesome job. Pricing is affordable. $9 for non lined pant hems. $14 for original hems. $24 for altering interior inseams. Which alters the pants to actually look like the intended silhouette (e.g. ankle, bootcut, etc) instead of pants that look lopped off. They ask for a deposit at the time you dropped off your clothes. Can't knock them for that, believe it or not there are some folks out there that never come back for their items... Intentional or not. My altered clothes come back nicely hung on dry cleaning hangar and plastic wrap. If you don't want that, tell them. Dawn does the measuring and greeting while her mom is hard at work at the machine working her magic. Both are skilled seamstress'. Plus they have two well behaved Yorkies on the premise. Too darn cute. They are good with people. The shop is in a teeny tiny 4 store front building with a handful of tight parking spots (1 handicap). So it's mainly neighborhood parking, parallel parking in the nearby neighborhood, which by the way is in the gorgeous historic Land Park 'hood. You will probably have to park several blocks away and hoof it in. Just don't be a doofus and block driveways or drive like a speed demon. Plus mind the time limits posted on the street parking signs. I forgot once but lucked out on not getting a ticket. The shop is a block away from other popular businesses ... Freeport Bakery, Maries Donuts, DADs, Cycle studio, Subways, nail shop, blah blah. So it gets busy in this area. The quality of their work is so worth it though. read more

This was my first time having any clothing altered but it was definitely a positive experience for me. I found this place just browsing on Yelp and it was pretty close to my house. I gave them two pair of jeans to work on. One was a brown color washed denim that has broken teeth on the zipper. The other was a blue motorcycle riding jean that needed to be hemmed 3" shorter and at the same time I wanted 2 extra belt loops sewn on the back for extra support. The nice lady took my order and consulted with her mother on what could be done. They took the jeans and I picked them up 3 weeks later. Usually the turnaround time is 2 weeks but I was busy and forgot to pick up on time. After taking the jeans home I scrutinized the workmanship and was very impressed! The brown jean now has a new YKK zipper and they used matching color threads wherever possible. It looks just like it was never repaired. The motorcycle jean was neatly hemmed to a 30" inseam like I wanted and the 2 extra belt loops felt solid and stronger compared to the original belt loops. Once again matching color threads were used to make their repair work as undetectable as possible. I'm definitely going back to Linda Lee's for any future alterations! read more

Decent good service. Slow turnaround. Cash only. I've taken a few stuff to get fixed and it's been good, but just had one recent experience that left a sour taste in my mouth and won't be going back. I took in four pants to get altered. Since they were all similar style she only had me try one on and then said she measure the inseam and do the rest. She did have a line of customers waiting. I trusted since she had done a good job on others. When I go to pick up like two/three weeks later. I try on my pants and two pants are off. I let her know and she basically says she doesn't make mistakes and I needed to bring her the original pants and prove she made a mistake. At the same time another customer comes in, she starts attending to them, and just leaves me there. It was odd and off to make me not want to go back. read more

I am a fan of this place! I bought a wedding dress online for $65. It fit me perfectly, aside from the length of the gown. The dress needed to be taken up by quite a bit and it was about 4 layers of cloth that needed to be cut and sewn. I took it to Linda Lee's. The girl at the front desk was very sweet and accommodating. Her mother was one of the ladies who did the sewing and they both helped to make markings on the dress to have it hemmed. It came out to be $150. Do I think this is pricey? Absolutely. But for the good service and for since it's my wedding gown, (not to mention I already saved so much money on it!) I figured paying that amount isn't too bad. They got it to look great and did it in about a week. No complaints here. read more
