We are so grateful we switched to this vet -- our very first visit confirmed we made the right choice. Our senior dog woke up with an infected eye, and when I called, they were able to see her the same day. From the very beginning, the experience was completely different from what we were used to. We were met in the parking lot, welcomed warmly, and immediately felt cared for. The entire staff was kind, calm, and attentive -- and the vet was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. She spent real time with us, not only addressing the eye issue but also talking through our dog's overall health, answering questions, and making sure we felt informed and reassured. It never felt rushed. We previously went to Banfield and were often left feeling like just another number -- with our dog spending hours in a kennel for what should have been a simple visit. No one likes going in for a service, let alone it supposedly being a service for your very close loved ones, and simply getting a couple of seconds and a very inflated bill. I was concerned about something that should have been an easy fix. I was actually told to go to Costco to get the prescription instead. You would think that they would just do the most basic things for your pets that you brought them in for. Nope. They don't care about your pet. They care about dollars. Ridiculous. I brought my dog in for a lump that concerned me. I saw two different vets here, both decided it was nothing to worry about. I trusted their expertise--and that trust cost me. By the time I sought a second opinion elsewhere, it was too late. The lump was cancer, and it had progressed significantly in the months I was led to believe it was nothing. This clinic might be ok for a simple ear infection, but I would strongly caution anyone against trusting them with anything more serious. PLEASE READ THE LATEST REVIEWS. --------------------------------- I've gone to Linda Mar once ... and thats enough to prove that the current reviews are right: this place isn't a vet, they just administer vaccines. This is the only vet I know that refuses to send their prescription approval electronically. PetSmart called me that they approved the prescription but I have to go physically pick up the paper work and mail that prescription myself. context: My other vet wouldnt approve the prescription because they needed this year's test results and Linda Mar administered those annual tests this year. So I changed the vet from my normal to Linda Mar to reduce the amount of back and forth between vets. read more

The way a veterinarian visit is supposed to work is that you bring your pet in for an exam, you sit in the examination room with the vet or vet's assistant, and you go over your concerns with them. After Einstein had his first checkup he happy and calm, and being a small dog you vets haft to be crazy and overwhelming, I'm sure it's like going to the dentist for us humans! The team of doctors are there to help you and NOT sell you. For a real life example; On This past thanksgiving 2019, our pup got attacked on the trail and Maria (Dr. Depunzio) was out. A gentleman by the name of Dr. Wilson saw us. He examined Einstein, comforted him, and made him feel better. He's so gentle and truly cares and loves for animals. You can see it in his demeanor. The vet tech even let ya hold Einstein so she would not haft to take him back to give him his shot (he needed doggy Advil) due to bruising from the attack on the trail. Sadly, my wiener dog, Max, of almost 17 years passed away a few weeks ago, and his passing was quite traumatic. He was diagnosed with kidney failure from another vet, and just the night before his death he was in that vet's care and told us he had 1-3 months to live. That night, he deteriorated quickly. He couldn't walk, started losing his bowels, vomiting, and we knew the end was coming soon. The next morning, I came home early from work because I knew that he wouldn't be with us for much longer. As soon as I got home, he looked terrible. I knew it was time. I picked him up and held him and kissed him. He seized in my arms, and at that point we knew (well thought) he was gone. I don't know if you've ever seen an animal pass away without euthanasia, but.. they're just there. This seems creepy but their eyes are open, and even if you try to close them they won't, so we thought he was gone at that point. We couldn't feel any heartbeat. We ran down to Linda Mar Vet (which is down the hill from us), and someone came out to see us immediately, e without calling beforehand. The vet came out instantly and was super kind and understanding, and took Max inside. She came back a few minutes later to let us know he still had a very faint, weak heartbeat but we knew we needed to put him to rest. She took him to get him ready, but as soon as she put the catheter in his arm he passed away. Everyone was so incredibly sweet, helpful, and supportive. They had no issues with our family members visiting over the next few hours to say goodbye to our baby. Thank you Linda Mar Vet for your compassion and flexibility during this difficult time. I have been going to Linda Mar Clinic for the past 25 years. All my pets have been seen and treated by Dr. Cucaro and Dr. Wilson. Both Veterinaries are compassionate and Knowledgeable. Great staff and plenty of parking. My cats and dogs receive great care here. Whether, it be a yearly physical or emergency care. They have been there for my pets! We almost lost our kitty after he consumed my daughter's medication that he found on the floor. I called at 7:30 am and Dr Wilson met us at the clinic and started emergency treatment of oxygen etc. if it wasn't for their immediate care we would have lost him. Their expertise and knowledge in immediate care was outstanding! I thank them for their care and compassion for my pets. They deliver the best care and work their hardest to prevent and save their patients (pets). I highly recommend them and will always take my pets there. Not only is the care excellent but they also accommodate prices. I have never been charged for something that was not needed. She is open to alternative medicine when appropriate and takes the time to ensure I understand what's going on or what the recommendations are. they should change their name from "veterinary hospital" to "vaccine clinic". This is not a real vet and certainly not a hospital. They are too booked with check-ups and vaccines to see your animal when they get sick. instead they send you to an "emergency" - ie REAL vet. Why not reserve 2-3 appointments per day for animals in need of urgent care like EVERY OTHER VET AND DOCTOR DOES? Instead they fill their calendar 4-6 weeks out with checkups and shots so they never have to deal with an actual sick animal and send you scrambling elsewhere looking for care when your pets get sick. When my pets are sick I want a vet I can rely on to be able to see my pet! Seems like the bare minimum to me!?! Do yourself a favor and choose another vet. read more

HORRIBLE RUDE EMPLOYEES - OWNERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED. After booking an appointment online for a new pet, I was called by Alexandra (?) at the clinic who proceeded to admonish ME for correctly following the prompts on their website and asking me to send paperwork for my pet to an external email even though I uploaded to site per the instructions. When I inquired and expressed frustration at having to register/book appointment online, after having been directed to by staff to my husband on a previous call, I was told I registered under the wrong area - "registration" vs. "booking appointment." When I suggested it seemed like they did not want my business and that I could go else where, I was told good, you should do that and was promptly hung up on. When I called the clinic to complain to a manager, an employee Nick was similarly rude and dismissive. Nick told me there was no manager there and after expressing my dissatisfaction with my encounter with Alexandra, and expressing to him that I have brought all my pets to this clinic for many years, he too seemed apathetic and dismissive. Disgusting customer service - of which I will continue to warn people about. I hope this behavior is indicative of your overall customer service and you continue to lose customers. read more

Our usual vet shuttered so we were desperate to find a new place and boy did we luck out! There's a known shortage of good vets in the area and Linda Mar met all of our expectations and then some. Our little pupper had some sort of tummy bug where she couldn't keep anything down so we emailed the center on a Thursday night and got a call the very next day with an opening for an emergency appointment. They have a small parking lot outside that you drive up to, then call. They then retrieve your pet and we were able to wait while they did the check-up, and were consulted before proceeding with an x-ray to approve the cost (appreciate that!). Nothing showed on the xrays, but they did give her some fluids via an injection in her back where it slowly absorbs into her system (pretty interesting technique!). The BIG thing we appreciated most of all was the consult from Dr. Cucaro, who came to our car and explained in great detail what they saw, what they did, and what we could do to make her comfortable until the xray techs could get a good look. At the end of the day, our pupper stayed in great spirits and eventually got better with a changed diet for a few days. THe vet also followed up by phone a day later to check in. Really appreciated the hands on care. All the staff were friendly - GREAT service by the Linda Mar Vet Hospital - highly recommended! read more

Linda mar vet sent an exit survey after a recent visit in which I expressed my frustration with being unable to be with my animal during the visit. Instead of taking in the feedback and understanding the concern - they told me to find a new vet as they don't want a client who wants to be with their pet during visits. Why send a feedback email when you don't want to listen to your clients who spend thousands? I went to LINDA Mar Vet for the longest time I can't even remember date I started. All my 5 American Shorthair Silver Tabbies went to Linda Mar. Now since they changed managements & I had an Emergency they refused me. They insulted me with rude antagonistic & rude language. I was so hurt but realized they were not the same . There language both insulting & rude. Don't even give them a try. I would not even consider going back for even a Hello . They refused to send me my Babies charts for other vets to have on file. Dr. Cucaro is honestly hands-down the BEST vet in town! I've had my dog since he was 4 months old and we kept switching vets. I am 100% certain that we'll stick with Dr. Cucaro because 1) she cares, 2) follows up, and 3) does not try to force you to take unnecessary tests just to make money. Before coming, the receptionist on the phone took down all the names of the vets that we've gone to in the past. Dr. Cucaro likes to review patient's charts to learn more about their history. I truly appreciated that so much because there is concrete evidence and data to best ensure appropriate treatment. On the day of the appointment, Dr. Cucaro spent about an hour with me and my dog to go over everything since he was a senior dog! We've done some chest x-rays and she called the next day with the results and determined next steps. In the past, I literally had to hunt the vet down just to get an answer. Dr. Cucaro is the best! I thought I had found a professional vet clinic, turned out to be a DUMP ! Covid was a saving grace to this place , not allowing customers into their facility to see that they haven't invested a dime on technology or pet comfort since it opened in 19canteen .Just gross ! Though there fees suggest otherwise. The place is a true money making business only, they don't care about the welfare of pets, they just put on show to get your money ! This, the only vet clinic/dump in the world that does not hold open slots for emergency pet visits. This is the first warning sign of a dump . No real veterinary work takes place at this dump - check-ups and regular vaccine and nail trimming only - you will need to go to a real/another vet clinic if your pet gets sick without a pre-booked appointment - because at this dump you need to book three weeks ahead of time for an appointment - they have no emergency slots ever ! - so I hope you have a crystal ball that lets you know exactly when your pet will be really sick. The owners and staff put sales/profit as the priority over pet care, they do not have the wherewithal to deal with pets and family - they just don't care ! - everyone is treated like a number - if your pets have specials needs or requirements go somewhere else , where they actually give a damn about pets/family ! It used to be that humans got into veterinary to do best for animals - not this dump of a place, they are just walking paychecks . No compassion, no respect, no common sense - its like they are doing you a favor and they take advantage of you. Understand that we raised issue with management at the dump previously and they said they would do better - they did worse ! Take it or leave it ! We left it ! Thankfully we only used this dump for a few visits, and only because our fantastic "real vet" was on an extended sick leave. If you really love your pet , never go to the Linda Mar Vet / Dump ! This is posted by a person who treats pets as treasured family members who deserve respect and the best quality care. She is an angel, great at her job and amazingly experienced She found very early stage melanoma in my dogs mouth which probably saved his life. For over 12 years I had taken both of my dogs to Linda mar veterinary. 16 months ago after a very expensive year of medicine and test to keep my poor girl alive we had to put her down because of heart failure. I was so distraught and grieving ( still am ) that to my surprise I recently received a bill for putting my dog down .I called them and asked how after 16 months this is the first time I am getting a bill with a nasty note of not paying ! What shocked me it said I was to have a paw print of my dog . I asked them about this and I was told that yes they have had it this whole time . I was so shocked that for 16 months as I am grieving over my beloved dog they sat on my paw's print !!! Well I paid my bill and got my paw print and I will never use them or recommend them at all . I frantically called this vet because it was closest to my location to see if I could come get the vaccine I needed. The veterinarians and staff at Linda Mar Hospital have been treating my animals for decades. They are compassionate and highly skilled and I never doubted a diagnosis or ignored their advice. I once took them two abandoned cats so near death I fully expected both to be euthanized. But they offered me hope instead, and weeks later to my astonishment they returned two healthy, beautiful and very grateful cats. They also showed incredible patience with my little rescue dog, Yoshi, who was a dubious patient at best. And after he recently passed away at 18, they sent a lovely miniature white rose plant in condolence. I thank the doctors and staff for their wonderful care over the years, and highly recommend this hospital to anyone who loves their animals and wants the very best for them. read more

This place is a joke. One of the pictures included is the invoice of what I was charged to be told my dog has a sore muscle somewhere. The invoice also increased, without my approval, $100 from what I was told was a "worst case scenario" bid. The second picture is of my dogs rear end that was shaved into his second and third layer of skin. The dog is 20lbs and was sedated when they attempted to just shave hair. It has been a week since that visit and my dog is still dragging his but on the carpet to itch the scabs. I brought my puppy into Linda Mar Veterinary Hospital for a routine spay procedure which resulted in me not wanting to ever return there again. During that time, she was mistakenly nicked by a razor when grooming the dog. The nick needed surgical glue to repair. I understood it was a mistake but there was no apology, empathy, or responsibility taken. In fact the opposite happened. When I asked to make it right and make a possible deduction from the nearly $1,400 bill, they essentially double downed and said that they "could have chose not to tell me about the nick". I figured if I were to nick my dog which needed surgical glue to repair, it would have resulted in at least a $150 bill (minimum). I was hoping for about a $100 deduction which I asked for. The vet also said that she "basically nicked her throughout her spayed incision" which was her defense. I agreed to the spay incision and I understand mistakes happen but they did not make it right. Three different employees came to my car to deny me a credit. It was a scene and made me very uncomfortable. read more

I have been a customer for over a decade, with my dogs. Over the past couple years things have really gone downhill there in my opinion. The Doctors are good, some of the front desk and most of the techs are awesome, but this is a corporate vet operation and it is starting to show. Our issues with this manger started when we found one of their "chips" on the floor. Yup, the microchip was on the floor. We went back to the vet, she argued with me that it was there. I said, no, it came out, she was adamant that it did not. I asked to have them scanned over and over just to check. When she finally gave in, they did the scan, one did not have a chip. Glad I saw that tiny little chip pod otherwise one dog would have gone his whole life without the protection I was paying for. The manager's attitude was snarky and rude. No apology. In fact, get this, she said, "No charge for the new chip". Seriously. From then on she was rude--in a control-freak kind of way, slooooooooow (spend more time waiting to pay the bill than seeing a vet). I have tried to discuss my concerns with the manager, but she really seemed to carry a grudge against me and my dogs after that. It is sad really. I loved taking my dogs here for years before this manager. I wish I could just bypass her and the attitude and see the doctor. read more

I'm been going to Linda mar Vet for many many years and they were so kind and loving to my fur babies then things changed a couple years ago they're rude and misdiagnosed my Pomeranian they put her on antibiotics and said she had a bladder affection when she had diabetes then they were treating her for her diabetes and they no longer had the dry prescription food she needed and I understand things happen but one lady there told me not to feed her anything but that food then they put me on hold another person told me the vet said to feed her the food before the diabetes I was concerned crying because they passed me around to 5 different people that kept giving me different information & was short and rude so I called and looked online for her prescription food for hours and called over 35 places looking for the prescription food I didn't want to give my dog a food that would hurt her and I admit I was upset because different people there was giving me different information and I was scared for my fur baby she'd already had 4 curves there and they upped her insulin every time I didnt want to lose my baby and they acted like nothing they didn't care and then I find out they have the wet prescription food that I could of bought in first place without going through all this torment and worrying & they didn't even check just rude telling me to go to pet smart or feed her a regular food that could of hurt her or worse after them passing me around one good person was there & told me they had the prescription wet food and I went and picked it up found the dry food in Oklahoma online Thank god and realized I needed a couple more cans to last and called them and the lady ( she said she's manager ) told me they no longer will see my dogs because I was rude to them & hung up on them which is completely false I never hung up on anyone yes I was frustrated because i was worried about my pet & they were very unsympathetic to me & my pet I even asked can you please give me the food for her & all find a different vet she said no I was shocked that's not caring for animals which I believe that's there business theyre a corporation now it's all about money I just lost my husband last year and they know that I didn't want to lose are baby as well she's been my savior through my pain and I love her so much ..they're ruthless and should be ashamed of there behavior not towards me but by my fur baby they wouldn't even let me buy a couple cans of food for my innocent fur baby they shouldn't work with pets don't bring your pets there they don't care and have misdiagnosed my pet twice & still charge you for their mistakes please find a compassionate well trained place to take your fur baby .. read more

Current old fashion paper system takes 2 weeks or longer to get medication from online pharmacy which is sometimes cheaper several times. Having a pet with chronic condition it is a big deal. I have been going to this clinic for 20 years with a variety of dogs and cats and, in the last eleven years with my rescue Yorkie Tam. I have trusted every doctor there (Dr.s Cucaro, DePunzio, Wilson and Fliehr) at one time or another to treat Tam and their excellent care and empathy have helped him to reach the age of 23 despite myriad complications and ailments. If you want your guinea pig to die, this is the place to go. I knew Loki wasn't doing well several days ago and the vet gave me no real answer to what was wrong with him. He wasn't eating, wasn't pooping right, and I was told to buy antibiotics, vitamin c, and eye ointment (totaled $128.00). I called today and they recommended another place that specializes in smaller animals. I came home from work to see Loki suffering like I'd never seen before (face buried under the pellet feeder, mouth opening in a weird pattern and legs twitching). Our last guinea was put down at this place, so instead of coughing up another $100 for a shot, I had to put Loki down myself. All I could give my little buddy was less suffering. Dr. Cucaro is special, tho, and really does care, is considerate of all the factors (money, quality of life) and takes the time to explain things. The staff are absolutely wonderful and super kind, caring, even when you can tell something is up and everyone is trying to keep it together. I am with my dog 24/7 (work, errands, etc) and obviously if I'm taking my dog for a check up we are uneducated of the skin symptoms my dog is experiencing.
