I found Millbrae Pet Hospital in need (see below for the 2 places I went before MPH) as my dog was having uncontrollable sneezing for like 20 minutes and they were able to squeeze my dog in almost immediately between 2 appointments! The Vet looked my dog over, gave him medicine and built out a plan of attack if the problem continued. Really put me at easy... he has my business going forward!! Plus the staff/VET were really nice and worked with me in my time of need. (Check out their specials this month, teeth cleaning for $750, sounds like a deal, normally like $1300) Check them out San Bruno Pet Hospital- was my place for all things VET related, until today when I took him to SBPH and they said they don't take walk-ins.... really. What is the point of building a relationship with the VET if they don't take emergencies, they didn't even ask why I needed to see the doctor.. Never going back!! Next Masson Vet- same thing (but the lady did ask questions)

I've taken her too many places to get her anal glands, excreted,, and this was the first place that they told me that I should sedate her with trazodone and gabapentin before I brought her in. To be honest with you, the Vet tech was quite rude. I was pretty taken a back, considering I've taken her to many other places, and they just put a small muzzle on her and extract her with no problem. Their rebuttal, was that they had a different philosophy and that if I didn't sedate her that doing the extraction could injure her. I laughed because I had a Chihuahua and they muzzled my Chihuahua six months ago. So they are being pretty hypocritical. Basically I'm upset because I had been a loyal client for over 15 years with multiple pets, and since I disagreed with their tactics of sedating my dog before an anal gland excretion... They thought it would be best if I'd go somewhere else. They also said that sofie had deep anxiety and was in a state of fear. Sofie was uncomfortable, but so are most dogs going to the vet. I've never had this problem with this vet team. But, the dynamics have changed and Dr.G would rather drug my dog than put a muzzle on her. Yet.. they felt good putting a muzzle on my 17 year old Chihuahua 6 months ago. Definitely going somewhere else where the veterinarian team are more confident in their skills, professional and know how to communicate. They definitely have a lack of loyalty.

Masson was the only place that I felt was genuinely there to help you without digging a hole into your pocket. They were the only place that could give me a rough dollar amount. And I completely understand quotes can be inaccurate because you can't diagnose over the phone. Jasmine was the first staff I spoke to there, she was warm, kind and knowledgeable. She was the initial reason I chose to book with Masson. And I have found so many more reasons to stay. Dr. Tais is patient and truly cares about your pet. Our appointments didn't feel rushed, she took the time to hear me out with what happened to Boba and answered questions and explained things thoroughly to me. But he's recovered so well after every visit from Dr. Treat! That's truly a testament to the care, sensitivity, and expertise of the team here. Cheerio recently went through a checkup, exams, vaccines, and dental cleaning with Dr. Lee, which was quite involved with multiple shots, screenings, and anesthesia. But the team made sure that the procedures were calm, peaceful and allowed me to comfort him through the initial stages. I'm really thankful for that, and Cheerio recovered extremely fast in a day back to himself! Compared to other vets I've been to previously, it's been quite easy to make appointments at Dr. Treat, and they've always given me transparent prices and quotes to consider before committing, which is much appreciated.

Early Thursday morning around 2:30 A.M. I booked an urgent appointment at Dr. Treat in Burlingame…read morefor my 5-year-old Frenchie, who was vomiting repeatedly throughout the night. I made the appointment in pure panic because I was afraid something was seriously wrong. This review is mainly regarding the front desk staff and the customer service aspect, not the medical providers themselves. By morning, after monitoring her, she was eating, sleeping, and playing normally. I called the clinic to ask whether I should still bring her in or if I could cancel. I apologized immediately because I knew I was within the 24-hour cancellation window even though I made the appointment in the middle of the night and there was no way I could notify 24 hours before. The person who answered the phone was extremely condescending from the beginning. Instead of helping me decide what to do medically, I was repeatedly talked over and reminded of their policy. I completely understand policies -- I work in healthcare myself -- but there is a way to communicate them compassionately, especially in veterinary care where people are often scared and unsure. At one point she told me, word for word, to "be more mindful when scheduling appointments." After staying up all night cleaning vomit and watching my dog gag, that comment felt really insensitive and unnecessary. I wasn't rude, didn't raise my voice, and didn't swear -- I was simply asking if I should bring her in because she seemed fine by morning. She then told me she would "waive the fee this one time, but again, be mindful," spoke over me again, and then abruptly hung up. My issue isn't the policy (every clinic has them). The issue is how the staff communicates with pet owners during already stressful situations. Compassion and customer service matter. For contrast, I also called Sage in Redwood City and they simply advised me to monitor and come in if symptoms returned -- no attitude, no lecture, just clear guidance. I've been to Dr. Treat several times and their facility is beautiful, clean and the treats are endless for our babies, and the medical team has always been great. I really hope management addresses how these interactions are handled, because no one in the middle of a pet emergency should feel talked down to or dismissed by the front desk. I emailed the Manager Melissa but I have not gotten a reply

She took amazing care of Buddy and shows a great amount of genuine care. We followed Dr. Roossien from her previous practice in San Mateo, however we loved San Bruno Pet Hospital so much more. Even if we had to go further, she was worth it and we loved the staff that were equally caring and showed enthusiasm when they'd see all their doggie clients arrive. Even on the phone they'd maintain their sunny demeanor- especially Allie, whom I remember helping us most. That's not to say the other staff wasn't ready to help and pleasant as well. The facility was always clean and I liked the setup in the waiting room. The parking lot is ample, but do leave with caution since incoming traffic can become congested at the light upon exiting.
