My work requires I have short nails which was one of the biggest bummers given I've done long, design packed, nails my whole life, but, Annabella has completely changed that limiting reality for me when she showed me short nails can be just as great. The health of my natural nails goes without mention. Sometimes I can't even believe it myself. I look back and thank god that I have to transition out of long nails because they were DESTROYING the integrity of my naturals. My nail beds have grown significantly and overall, it's a lot less maintenance to have short nails. I've attached photos of some of my favorites she's done for me and now I'm itching for a new set (though I love my current). 10/10 recommend Annabella. My fingers were in pain, and it felt like the nails were lifting or separating. I called the next day and spoke with Samantha to explain the issue. I asked if I could come in to have two nails fixed and the set filed down because they were unusually thick (I've had Gel-X many times before and never experienced this). She told me to come in, but when I arrived, she dismissed my concerns and said it was "just the glue settling" and that nothing was wrong. Despite clearly seeing how thick the nails were, she didn't offer to fix them. By the very next day, the nails started coming off. I called again and asked for the set to be redone since the issue was clearly due to the application, but they refused. This is unacceptable, Gel-X sets typically last me at least 3-4 weeks, not just a few days. I ended up going to another salon to have them redone, and even that technician commented on how poorly the original set had been done. Overall, this salon showed no accountability and no respect for my time or money. I would not return.

My nails ended up looking decent but it is unacceptable to cut your clients skin so bad they are bleeding on multiple fingers! I paid $50 for a gel manicure. No acrylics or anything fancy. My customer came in" -- like what excuse me?....finish what you started aka my nails. So whatever she leaves and comes back and only does two layers of dip powder. And then she kept filing down my nails. I told her to stop but she kept filing them down..nails look horrible. I got a light color and light colors require multiple dips NOT to where you basically see my nail. I should have NOT gone and just kept my natural nails. Btw: she asked me 2 other times if I wanted pedicure and my eyebrows. I said, "no thank you" I went in for dip powder and was TERRIBLE... -Length was too short -- didn't ask for this short. I understood exactly what your technician was saying. I've encountered this same attitude while traveling in Thailand. My tour guide openly explained that darker skin is viewed negatively in her culture because it has historically been associated with people who work outdoors, while lighter skin is preferred. She then told me that my skin tone was "fine." It was uncomfortable then, but I was a visitor in another country and chose to leave it there. That experience is precisely why I recognize what happened in your salon. Your technician did not simply use the words "dark skin" and leave room for me to misunderstand her meaning. She told me that she doesn't like dark skin, said that it was part of her culture, and then specifically distinguished my brown complexion by telling me that my skin was "fine" while darker skin was not. Explaining the cultural origin of a preference for lighter skin does not make that preference less colorist. Calling it a cultural or linguistic misunderstanding does not change what was said to me or what it meant. I also find the reference to your employees having "yellowish Asian skin tones" troubling. Being a person of color does not prevent someone from holding colorist attitudes toward people with darker complexions. What makes this explanation particularly concerning is that, from what I have observed, your salon serves a predominantly Black clientele. If you operate a business that welcomes and profits from Black customers across a range of complexions, then those customers should be able to sit in your chairs without hearing that an employee doesn't like skin that looks like theirs--or skin darker than theirs. Cultural context may explain where an attitude comes from; it does not excuse expressing it to a customer. I appreciate that you acknowledged the incorrect polish, the attempted charge for a service I did not request, and the unprofessional way my concerns were handled. But I will not allow the most disturbing part of my experience to be explained away as though I simply misunderstood what I heard. I didn't misunderstand. I heard her clearly. I understood the cultural context. And I still found it offensive. I see the distinction you're attempting to make, and I don't accept it.

This place decor was beautiful and the shop looks clean and sanitized but it was definitely empty which raised my antenna right away. I was nervous that she wouldn't be able to deliver but surprisingly Kim did a really good job. Now here's the problem, her prices were ridiculous! She charged me $165 for services from $75 - $60 for an overlay full set and $15 for the French Design. Then she charged me $90 for a pedicure? $60 for a basic pedicure and $30 for the French and the callous removal. The $60 for a basic pedicure where there wasn't any extras like hot towels, foot scrub, stones, milk and honey, no wax or intense foot massage. Just a basic water with no jacuzzi, cuticle cut, callous removal $15 and a dry towel and French design. I will say I did get what I paid for but it was okay.
