I am also dealing with having a deformed left breast due to what this doctor has done. I had a breast augmentation December of 2021 and a year after that my breast began to change. I went back to see what was happening and Dr. Swanson told me that I would need another breast augmentation! I couldn't afford that nor did I expect that I would need a new augmentation considering it had only been a year! I have severe pressure in my left breast now and it looks like a pancake. If I don't wear a bra then it hurts like I'm carrying a rock in my left breast. I don't know what to do, but try to see if my doctor will take them out as an emergency. If anyone plans to file a lawsuit please include me! Now I'm seeing that she is retired and all these cases where customers are suffering like me. This is terrible. read more

I am surprised to see the negative reviews. I have used Dr. Linda Swanson on two different occasions. One was for a nose job and then a few years later for a breast reduction. I was very very satisfied with her work and I'm really sad to see that her office in Torrance is closed because I wanted to look her up again. She has retired now, but about a years ago I had a face lift which included an eye job. During the surgery I guess she forgot because my eyes were never done, but I was charged $3,500 for it. I went back to the office sometime later but a new doctor was there. I tried reaching her office manager but received no response. I feel totally taken for a ride. read more

I was referred to Dr. Swanson by a friend who is a retired plastic surgeon. I was getting a tummy tuck plus some liposuction on my flanks and thighs. I checked out a few surgeons, and I'm very happy I went with Dr. Swanson. I did a lot of research and had a lot of questions, which she answered succinctly. Very friendly yet professional. First, no beating around the bush, and so sales pitch. Just straightforward answers that helped me make an informed decision. Second, she uses a technique that doesn't require the use of drainage tubes post-surgery. None of the other surgeons offered that. Third, she said that, since I don't have children and was not significantly overweight (my weight was relatively normal, but gravity was taking its toll), I may not need to have the connective tissue in my upper abdomen sutured together, which is often part of abdominoplasty. A simple check during a pre-surgery exam confirmed that. (And I did research this, as well as the no-drains technique.) Again, the other surgeons insisted that I would need the upper-abdomen sutures regardless. Her fee was very fair, and her staff was very friendly and professional. Any time I had a question, I could call and get a straight answer. Debbie was especially helpful. For example, I'm very active and couldn't wait to get back to working out after a few months. She told me that, while the swelling will go down, the more active I am post-surgery, the more time it will take. With that information, I eased into my activity in a way that was comfortable for me yet allowed the swelling to recede by about six months after surgery. It's now been a just over a year, and I couldn't be happier. My clothes fit without bulges, I've gone from pear-shaped to an hourglass figure, and I even feel more energetic, not like I'm hauling around a bag of excess fat around my middle. Even my dermatologist was impressed. When I went in for my annual screening six months after surgery, she asked me who my plastic surgeon was so she can refer patients. If I decide to do any more plastic surgery, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Dr. Swanson, even though I live 25 miles away, closer to plenty of other plastic surgeons. read more

My life sadly has been changed forever from the surgerieI had performed by Swanson. The negligence in my neck lift and breast implant replacement both had to be corrected. I had emergency repair for my neck lift do to an artery Nick which with cauterization and nerve damage has left me with painful neuropathy in my head. Daily pain for life. My breast implants replacements were not placed or secured properly. These results are corroborated by Stanford and Torrance doctors I understand Swanson is retired. ***DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR** I highly suggest you do not spend your time and money with this Doctor. Office staff is great helpful and friendly. OR, surgery staff and anesthesiologist were great but the surgeon who is the one that will make you happy or not was not great. The worst bed side manner. I unfortunately had the worst experience. What seemed to be a fairly standard breast lift with implants and tummy tuck has turned into a physical and financial nightmare. I had my original surgery in September. 2.5 weeks later I had complications from what she thought was a bleed, it was not treated and at that time I developed an encapsulation, the left breast was very deformed, high and very very uncomfortable. In addition my right side had absolutely NO cleavage. No upper roundness, no fullness, leftover skin and with a drastic slope. It was a very very "natural" looking breast which is not what I paid so much money for. Her response was "that is what a natural breast should look like" After 4 months she agreed to do a revision, increased the CC from 355 to 505 to give me the fullness I was looking for (because she could not do another lift) while at the same time repair the left side. I am about 3.5 months post second op and I am still unhappy. My left side is larger, droopier, and very wide. My implant falls to the side and causes pain under my arm on a regular basis. Cannot sleep with out support because the implant falls to my armpit and it causes discomfort. When I told her this she said "well then sleep with a bra." Her bedside manner is terrible. My right side still has a lot of skin and now she says I have a small encapsulation on that side. Overall not only are the results NOT what I was looking for they are NOT what I paid for. Her response at my last post op was "there is nothing I can do" "it's like eating milk and cookies" to try and fix this "small" problem. It's not small in my opinion. In addition I have expressed concern with a point in my stomach at the center of my tummy tuck, she never wanted to address it. It doesn't look good, extra skin at a point that should not be there. I went for a second opinion and bottom line is there IS something that can be done to get the look that I had originally paid for. And it's going to cost me as much money as I have already paid her to do a revision. Her opinion is I should be happy it's better than what I started with. That means NOTHING when you pay a lot of money hoping to love something. I hate them every time I get dressed/undressed. It's SO upsetting & frustrating. Please please do not waste your time and money. **** Update -I have since had 3 other doctors tell me there are options to fix the results. It's a lot, a lot needs to be done to make it right. It will cost me approx an additional 22-25K. I need new implants, a full lift, pocket revision and internal bra. read more

I financed the breast surgery for $7400 for the woman I was seeing. She had her surgery done at Linda Swanson, MD, 3440 Lomita Blvd #150, Torrance, CA 90505. (310) 695-5379 I had reason to have second thoughts about tying up my credit for 60 months at 14.99% interest. So I called the office manager at the practice. The office manager was rude to me when I called, disregarding my concerns and told me repeatedly to talk with the woman getting the surgery. Then the office manager told me that I would lose $1400 of my financing if we cancelled. I told her we weren't cancelling, but postponing. She showed no regard for a paying customer and was only going to cater to the patient. I took exception to this treatment from a "professional" manager and did get upset at her rudeness. I would stay clear of this practice. The manager had no regard from me, the one PAYING FOR THE SURGERY that pays her SALARY. Also, she was rude during any negotiations. I'm certain, due to COVID-19, elective plastic surgery is down and there should be room with the INFLATED fees they charge. THEN she was very unprofessional and rude. Upon a suggestion from a dermatologist to have 2 moles removed from my 17 yr old daughters chest and back, I decided to take her to a cosmetic surgeon, to reduce the possible scarring. Thinking a dermatologist would just use a round plug and a couple of stitches. BIG MISTAKE. DR SWANSON WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I HAVE MADE IN REGARDS TO THE CARE OF MY CHILDREN. I FEEL SO BAD. I SHOULD HAVE JUST LET THE DERMATOLOGIST REMOVE THE MOLES. some details: I explained to Dr Swanson I was bringing my daughter to her because she is young and beautiful and the location of both moles were extremely visible. I wanted professional who would reduce the possible scarring. Dr Swanson agreed that alot of people elect to have moles removed by a surgeon rather than a dermatologist and she could absolutely remove the moles. We returned a week later... The first mole to be removed was between my daughters shoulder blades. After Dr Swanson slid the scalpel along her back, approx an inch in length and 1/2 inch deep, she stated full voice, " Oh....This is really going to scar."...... I kid you not.......AFTER a deep slice...... she says that. Finishing a large football shaped incision she starts looking for the right size needle to sew it up, asking her daughter assistant to look for another size needle, which her daughter could not find. She used a very large fishhook shaped needle and all the while saying, because my daughter has young skin this will pull open, and for sure scar. I about passed out from both the bad news and the blood. But, I tried to keep it together so not to scare my daughter... or pass out. The second mole immediately removed was on my daughters left breast/cleavage area. Dr Swanson again states, AFTER slicing deeply into my daughter, "this too will scar due to the skin being so young and elastic". Well, she was right! After following Doctors instructions exactly and taping these incisions for 6 months daily, using gel scar tape another 3 months, and keeping sunscreen on them for an entire year, they are huge scars. The scars are literally one inch long and 1/2 inch wide each.. on her back its a little longer than an inch. Friends always ask her "whats that?!" whens she wears anything slightly low cut. My daughter doesnt scar any more than the average person. She has had significant injuries that healed way better than these simple mole removals. I'm going to plead with Dr Swanson if she will give laser treatment or anything, to help reduce this scarring. Keep you posted........... read more

I decided to get breast implants from Dr. Swanson after years of looking at different portfolios of plastic surgeons. Her work was the most consistent and every case was a huge improvement. I've known 3 other women that have had implants by her and they are the best 7y6u54r, natural looking that I have ever seen. I wanted to look like I had been born with perfect boobs and not like I bought big fake boobs. To me, a surgeons skill and care of my body is the only thing I am concerned about, not their bedside manner or people skills so I won't even talk about it as I think it has no bearing on how you choose a surgeon. Although I will say that I got along very well with her and she is very professional. I've worked in a top accredited hospital alongside surgeons and radiologist, and the best ones were always the worst to talk to you. I just needed to bring that up since I see a lot of bad reviews for other surgeons solely based on the person not thinking the Dr. was nice enough. Saw Dr Linda L Swanson at her Wardlow Rd address in Long Beach. I had a ruptured implant and wanted it removed, and replaced with the same small inconspicious size. After the surger, while I'm still groggy, she says, "I did not have the size you wanted, so I made them a little bigger, about a soup spoon bigger." What?
