While waiting for a table, one of the workers directed us to a corner table. But a solo diner was already sitting there-apparently miscommunication between the staff. Staff had to redirect them to the bar. Once seated, we had to ask 3x for water and despite asking for a straw 3x for my salted margarita, I never got one. In fact, I directly asked the owner/waiter/manager if he had a straw on him-his response "it's probably good that I don't" ‍‍. In general, they appeared very overwhelmed and scattered. My husband stated "almost felt like we were interrupting them ". I asked twice for our check & finally walked up to the bar to pay. Thankfully, the food made up for most of the disorganized service. Funny thing is, I woke up this morning and knew it was gonna be a beautiful and hot day in the PNW. Hopped on a trail and walked 4 miles, grabbed an overnight bag (just in case), and sat in the car contemplating whether I drive east or west. A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Which led me to try something new and ended up here at the Garage. The atmosphere here was electric with Mariners on a screen over the bar and the FIFA World Cup games on the other screen. Love the open patio area, where a cooling breeze can be felt all throughout the Garage. They were a bit busy, so it took a minute to greet me, but at least I was able to find a table. I ended up ordering their Fish & Chips, and a cup of their chowda! DAMN!!! That's a mighty fine cup of chowda! And the baked buttered crips was spot on. Never had it that way (just the usual soft sourdough or oyster crackers) but them sliced crisps were perfect and I'm going to have to try serving it that way at home. I started out with the Hot Honey Old Fashioned, and surprisingly, there was some heat. Thoroughly enjoyed it! The Fish & Chips were breaded a bit differently. Reminds me of the cornmeal you'd find in the south with fried catfish and what not. The cod was flaky and perfect. It came with three pieces and it was just right. The fries complimented it well. The tarter was legit. Not the standard white sauce, but seemed to have a hint of dill in it. All in all, a great experience for my first time. The staff was busy, but they ensured I was tended to. We were quite happy with our meal here. To be honest, there aren't alot of great places to eat in Ocean Shores and we were happy to find The Garage. Nice to sit outside in their enclosed patio so we could have our dog with us and get away from the chilly ocean breeze. Friendly, welcoming staff. We went in at 4:30 to beat the dinner rush. When we entered there weren't many people inside (or out). Our server took 9 minutes to get a menu to us and longer to take our order. She was rather rude to us (when I asked about any possible happy hour items, when another customer simply tried to walk pass her in the crowded area). Anyone can spill a glass of water - which she did on my wife and her purse, but she was still not friendly when she did so. We figured she was having a bad day (or Friday). My wife got the gyro and a salad. It took 25 minutes (after we ordered) to get the salad. When the gyro came, it had two unseasoned small meatballs. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and a burger. Took 25 minutes (after we ordered) to get a cup of chowder and longer to get the burger. The owner came out at the end and made us feel like we did something wrong for asking for our soup and salad. Our beverage glasses sat empty for over 35 minutes without anyone asking us if we would like something to drink. The beer was priced high and under poured. We wanted to like this place and kept trying to over look some negative experiences here, but at the end, I could not recommend this. Great find!! We are so happy we checked out this restaurant. The food was really good. We had the beef nachos and the beef dip both were delicious. They had several TV's to watch sports. Friendly and helpful staff and a place for us to sit outside on a beautiful day with dogs. I ordered the Alfredo Cavatappi with chicken and my husband order the fish and chips. We stayed here longer than planned because the food and drinks were so good! I could not finish the pasta. The waitress told us later she always splits it with her BF because it's so much! Great newer place for 21+ the chick pea salad YUM !!!! So good would come back for that again . The chick peas are fried light and airy with a real nutty flavor . Then we got the cut steak and chicken parmigiana sandwiches , the bread was nicely toasted the sandwiches are on the smaller side and that was nice for the hot day we were there. Great flavor ! Are we stopped for lunch. Husband had the burger he said it was very good I loved their cornbread fish and chips so tender you had to definitely make sure to have a fork. Succotash was very tasty but the start of the show was the chicken wings. The ginger soy wings were fantastic. I could have eaten a dozen of those so easily. As lifelong visitors to Ocean Shores, we will definitely be back again. Oh, as a bonus they serve alcohol! The owner was super friendly and we loved the new atmosphere. It was a picture-perfect day in Ocean Shores for Memorial Day weekend, and I was looking forward to a nice meal. I ordered the Garage Burger and an oyster shooter. After a long wait, the oysters finally arrived, but unfortunately, they didn't taste as fresh as I'd hoped and had a noticeable aftertaste. When it came time to check on my main order, I received my receipt from a different staff member--a young man who seemed in a hurry and left before I could ask about my burger. After another 10 or 15 minutes, my original server returned. When I inquired about my burger, she didn't seem surprised and simply asked if I had ordered it. At that point, I decided to pay my bill and leave, feeling disappointed by the experience. I truly hope this feedback helps improve service for future guests, as Ocean Shores is such a wonderful place to live. read more

Pretty solid restaurant in Ocean Shores. I remember when they were building it when I first moved to the region and the building was an old ugly red. They finished and opened in September but I did not finally get out and try the place until today when I took my mother for her birthday. The restaurant does not have the best parking situation but there is a decent amount of parking all around the area if needed. The restaurant is a little on the small side, strikes more as a bar before a restaurant especially as the bar is front and center. I found it pretty cool how they use glass garage doors along the side of the building and I think there were 3 total. I can see how this really opens it up for the night scene and to the patio area and it brought back memories of an upscale bar and grill I worked the kitchen at in California many years ago. There is not a ton of seating but for the space they have several small tables plus the outside area if its not too chilly outside. They also have a wall mounted smart jukebox that allows you to download an app and play music. I did not test this or check if it cost. Now for the food, we both opted to buy a cup of the clam chowder to try. While this was not the best clam chowder I have had.... it is one of the best for Washington, im also not a fan of how many other restaurants out there do the slab of melted butter on top so I was happy to see The Garage does not do that. I liked that the clam chowder had a good amount of pepper spice to it. I do wish it had more clam meat and for it to be just a little thicker. I worked on the wharf in San Francisco, I got spoiled by their chowder. The chowder also comes with 3 pieces of toasted baguette that had a nice flavor to it and I wish I had more of that for the chowder. My mother decided to try the fish and chips. They use cod and lightly bread them in a corn meal, they are nice and light and not too heavy on the fried like many places. My mother raved about the fish the entire time and even into the evening and said she would eat it again and that it was so flaky. I did not try their slaw but she liked it. I decided to try the chicken parm sandwich. I liked the bun and I liked the way it was toasted. Overall it had a decent flavor but to me it was pretty generic when it came to the seasoning and the sauce. it was good, I just do not think it lived to its price. The service was pretty decent, the server is very friendly and the place was very clean looking. I find the prices to be a bit high for some things, a can soda for example is $3. I do not drink so I cannot tell you how decent the drinks are but they do have a full bar, the prices are a bit high too looking at the menu. I do wish they would have a website and also list their menu along with daily specials online. I would be willing to come back to try some of the specials. Only a couple of restaurants so far in Ocean Shores I will even consider going back to again. read more

This restaurant is fairly new. We waited a few weeks to come in and visit. We meet up with friends for some drinks/dinner and stopped in. Location is cozy. It has a few large TVs around and speaker music located outside. They had a nice outdoor seating area as well. The food was fresh and tasty. The adult drinks were delicious. The server's we kind and came around several times to make sure we were all good. That is such a great feeling. Restrooms were clean. Would recommend and will be back for sure. I ordered a vodka red bull and they gave me the whole can of red bull. I hate when places do this. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of our dishes, but the food was good. I had the pork sliders and curly fries and my husband had the burger. We both enjoyed our lunch. The ambiance was nice. They had MLB on without sound. The seating arrangement was nicely spaced out. The was outdoor seating. This place is dog friendly. The service needs to be worked on. We waited about 10 minutes before they even acknowledge. Then about a good 5-10 minutes before we got menus and drink order. The girls were too busy chatting it up with folks at the bar. We waited awhile to place an order and even longer for the food to come out. Once the food came out the girls were gone. It was hard to get a ticket, could have left without paying, that's how important the people were at the bar. We started building our house in Ocean Shores just when they were building The Garage. We waited a couple of months before eating there. The location is perfect, we live blocks away. The mood and environment is top notch. The food is very good, honest, fresh and well prepared. The service is truly great, friendly, know the food and great at helping pick your choices. The diners are many locals and that feel right. They offer special regularly. The bar is full services and can make anything well, great brews available.
