This office has very good dental staff, BUT their billing side is terrible!!! We are required to pay for services up front before insurance is billed. My wife and I were both overcharged with mine being $220.00 over and my wife was being overcharged by over $700.00 which is a 120% overcharge. Then when we were told by the office billing dept that it takes 2 to 3 months to receive a refund for our overpayment even though they have already received payment from our insurance company. So they now hold our money for a period of time and draw interest while we are waiting for our refund. We also requested a pre-determination be done on her claim and was told they had done that but after consulting with the insurance, we found out it was that it was never done. So this office is either completely incompetent or just flat out dishonest. read more

In January, I went for a cleaning and was told that I had three cavities. I should have gone to get a second opinion at a different Denson's office, but I didn't. I went in in February and got the fillings for all three cavities. Within a week One of the fillings fell out the following week. I had to go back and get the second filling redone. The pain that I was feeling after the first feeling was replaced after falling out was still hurting, and the dentist told me that it may take a few weeks as my teeth may be sensitive. While at that visit, I pointed out that there was extra epoxy from the fillings around the bottom of my teeth, and in between my teeth, preventing me to floss. She cleaned up the extra at that appointment. A week or two went by and I reached back out to the dentist office, letting them know that I was still in pain from the first filling that had to be replaced. They referred me to an endodontist and I went in for a consultation and had a root canal. The pain continued after the root canal so I went to a new dentist and we found out that there have been a crack in the tooth this whole time. I then had to have the tooth extracted and now I am working towards getting an implant to replace the tooth that the dentist cracked from the First filling that she had done the replacement on that fell out in early February. I am at the point of getting a lawyer as I am almost $4000 into this process. read more

Problem: In business for the money, not for quality dentistry. Beware. This is a cookie cutter dentistry practice put together to make money. These dentists might be trained, but they're horrible sales people. They Just Don't Listen If you plan to visit THIS dental office, you need to ask a LOT of questions, not just some, but many many many. Why? Because the dentists who work here will only tell you about what THEY WANT to tell you about... which is procedures that make them the most amount of money possible. For them, it's all about making the most money off of each visit, not about treating the patient right AND doing what's right for the patient's teeth and budget. These dentists will not tell you about any treatment plan alternatives that are likely just as good in quality, but may cost you half the price and that do less long term dental damage. For example, I visited to get an old crown replaced that had fallen off. Instead of actually wanting to re-glue the original crown, the dentist claimed some kind of "problem" that was never fully disclosed. Instead, they wanted to make a brand new "in house" crown on their glistening new crown making machine. The price for that crown? Over twice the price of traditional ceramic+metal crowns made outside of their office and which take about a week to arrive back to be seated. I was ultimately able to negotiate the cost of that overpriced in-house crown down to near the price of the ceramic+metal crown after I told them I wanted the ceramic+metal crown instead. If I hadn't asked more questions, I wouldn't have even known about the ceramic+metal crown option or its lower cost. While it's great that a crown can be made while you wait, is it really worth it to pay more than twice the price just to get it the same day? One big quality problem I've personally found with those expensive in-house crowns is that they are not nearly as insulating from heat and cold as the ceramic+metal crowns made elsewhere. If your tooth feels more sensitive after placement of one of their crowns, this is exactly why. The ceramic+metal crowns are way more insulating, just like a real tooth. The dentist who served me claimed longevity issues with the ceramic+metal crowns, but that sounded like a sales pitch and not speaking from knowledge. It gets worse. Later, I needed to have a cracked tooth pulled. However, the dentist, Dr. Bouchan, waited until the day of the extraction to give me all of my future treatment possibilities for how to handle the now missing tooth. Instead of telling me about all of the possible alternatives in advance of the visit, I had to sit there coaxing every single one of them out of the dentist right before the procedure. One. At. A. Time. ... when no time was allotted for this kind of questioning. The dentist even seemed to get annoyed by my questions. Why is this important? Because the area needs to be prepped properly for future procedures. It took ages to get him to answer the questions because he simply was not forthcoming. I felt like I was pulling teeth here. Even worse, even when I was able to get the various treatment options out of him, he didn't really give me cost estimates other than generalized costs that were a couple grand. He didn't even bother to talk to the front desk to work up actual treatment cost possibilities so I could make an actual informed decision. Instead, he got fed up with my questions and shut me down by starting the extraction... at which point I wasn't up for asking any further questions. Looking for a new Dentist? If you're looking for a dentist who not only wants to take care of dental health, but who LISTENS to you and wants to work through YOUR DENTAL challenges, this is not the office to choose. If you're made of money and you are willing to accept their "first offer", Lindenwood Dentistry might be for you. Note that this problem goes all the way to the front desk because this is how the entire office staff, dentists included, are trained. These staffers are trained to only select the most expensive procedures, even if you don't need that procedure. In the past, it was about filling cavities. Today it's all about procedures costing thousands of dollars... because filling cavities just doesn't make enough money. When that doesn't work, they'll pull all of your teeth, charge you a mint for bone grafts, then insert dental implants (4 times the cost of a crown per tooth). I don't fully understand what this office is playing at. Well, I do and I don't like it. However, it's more important to find a dentist who truly cares about preserving your teeth and isn't simply using you and your teeth solely as a source of income for their new boat or house or car. It should never be that every single dental issue comes down to a crown or even more costly procedures. Any dentist who plays it this way isn't doing their job as an ethical medical practitioner. At this week's appointment, I arrived SIX MINUTES late, thanks to work. The receptionist was on the phone when I arrived. When she got off the phone after a couple of minutes, her ENTIRE greeting was to tell me I was 9 minutes late. She added that I now had the choice of waiting approximately 50 minutes, or rescheduling-- that the office had extended to me a 5 minute grace period. If there was a warning somewhere that said patients must never to be more than 5 minutes late, it was nowhere obvious. And of course, if I'd seen such a warning, I'd never have used Lindenwood Dentistry in the first place. Well there you go. Problem solved. read more

Scumbags! Went in paid cash $59 using the new patient special. They found some issues, never asked or informed me there was a separate charge for extra services. They charged my insurance on top of the cash I paid. Now I owe them more money. Will be calling or going to their office Monday morning. Will file a BBB complaint. Will file a FTC compliant. Will inform any dental organization that I can about this business. They are shady. Stay away. read more

Got a crown beginning of January this year. Everything was great until I received my explanation of benefits from my dental insurance. This is when I realized I was never even offered the ceramic crown that would have only cost me about $350 out of pocket. Instead, I paid almost $900 for the ceramic crown they make in house. When I called in the beginning of February, I was told that they should have given me the option for the ceramic crown that is made out of office and requires just one extra visit. I was told I would be refunded the difference. I waited for a couple of weeks, called and was told they have a "refund department" that handles this and it can take up to a month. Called back in March a couple of times. Each time I called, I was told somebody would call me back. Not one time was I called back. I made an angry phone call in April, and was told to email my explanation of benefits, with the cost break-down from my insurance. I sent the email on 4/16. No reply. I resent the email. No reply. Now here we are, almost in June, still no reply. The crown was fine, but beware of their deceptive billing and don't expect any kind of communication from them once they are paid. read more

Very great experience. I have had some terrible dentist experiences in the past but this was one of the best, stress free visits I've ever had. Shoutout to my Dental Hygienist Joni! She has amazing energy and talked me through the entire process. She made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. I met with Dr. Miab and while she let me know I had a cavity she informed me of next steps. Absolutely love the staff and service. They're super gentle and even talked to me in the office before I was in a chair. Their prices are fair and they accept payments. The office is clean and bright and they offer complimentary drinks while you wait. I'll wear headphones bc the country music is not my fav but the ladies are magnificent. NOT FOR KIDS! Took my 3 kids who are all 6 years old and under. Each kid was taken separately for their initial visit into their sperate rooms at the same time! They were frightened by the ex rays and I was not made aware because I was in the exam room with my younges. I was told that kids tend to act up more when their parent is nearby. So I was made to bounce from room to room to check on my children who were with strangers! The whole experience was not great and I overall felt like I was nothing more than a paycheck to these people. read more

My previous dentist died from a fast moving cancer and the doctor who replaced him seemed very good. She even kept the existing staff, BUT dropped many insurance providers. What was offered was not as good as the coverage I already have. Two years later and I finally got around to selecting a new dental practice. Lindenwood Dentistry has a great location in the Schnuck's center across from Lindenwood University in St. Charles. The staff are very personable and helpful. They use a combination of digital x-rays and photographs and refer to them regularly during procedures. The result is the most thorough and well explained examination I've ever had. They even did a couple of composite fillings on my first visit and the cost was VERY reasonable. The doctor who performed the procedures isn't listed yet on their website, but I believe his name is Dr. Schaumberg (sp?), young, but professional and knowledgeable. I can't recommend him highly enough. The same goes for Lindenwood Dentistry, itself. They are new and still taking on new patients. If you're looking for a dentist, I think you will be happy with them too. read more

My problems started here just as Covid was hitting. I had a crown put on from a tooth that broke. I was there for a few hours as they could not seem to get the numbing medication in the right spot. As I was running out of time and patience I opted to have them continue even though I could still feel everything they did. They suggested I get the in-house ceramic crown. After the crown was placed I continued to have pain in the area for about 1 month. Since then the crown has broken. Because of the Covid and my bad experience I did not return right away. Recently, on the other side of my mouth, I had a tooth chip which formed a hole which trapped food in it . This has caused me a lot of pain limiting my diet. My wife said I should give them another try, as she liked the Dr. she saw when she was there. When I went back they said I had a cavity and proceeded to fix that. However, this did not fix the chip/open space. They did not try to schedule anything to fix it or say anything about it. They did say their crowns (from the other side) are warrantied but they would have to talk to the business manager. Apparently no one did. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment to get it done which I explained in detail my reason for my appointment. Today they tell me they did not schedule enough time to get the work done and I would have to pay for the replacement in full because it has been to long since I had been back. Had I have known there was a warranty with restrictions and there not been a pandemic I might have come back to a place that offered me a service that resulted in pain for a month afterwards. I tried to give them a second, second chance (the hole and crown) to make things right and demonstrate the quality of their care. They did. I will not go back! Dental work was done and is fine. Staff at the office is lousy. When I initially had my appt I set up a dental payment plan and was told it could only go for four months but I could change that at a later date if I needed to. I paid the down payment then the first month payment. I called and requested they stop charging my card and I would come in and pay the payment. The payment was submitted and withdrawn from my acct. I have been trying for over a week to have someone extend the payments for six months and lower the payments. Was told two days ago that she would take care of it and email me a copy of the agreement and also call me back about resubmission of insurance claim. Never received either and called today and she had already left for the day. No one else in the office can take care of this. Would never recommend this office to anyone. read more

Worst dentist I have ever been to. Had an old cap on a back molar pop off. Went in to get a new one. They glued a temp on. It popped off first time I ate. Glued the old one on. It also popped off. Used a more permanent glue which worked. waited 3 weeks for permanent one. after lots of trys during a 2.5hr appt it did not fit right. So they said they would make the better stronger more expensive one in house at no extra cost. they then changed there mind for some reason and made me a temp and ordered a new one to be expedited from the lab. the first time I ate the new one popped off and broke. i didnt bother going back in a 4th time since it was supposed to be expedited. 2 weeks later I get a call the new tooth is ready. I was flying back from vacation and called the day I got back. They were supposed to call me yesterday to reschedule but no call back. So called the following day and waiting again for a call back. worst nightmare experience w a dentist ever. read more

Every time I have ever called I'm on hold for at least twenty minutes. One time it was 42 minutes and then they hung up on me. Now I find out AFTER they've scheduled my latest appointment that my doctor isn't even in the office that day and I would have to pay a fee to see some other doctor. Are you kidding me? Something ain't right about this place. Tried using this place as the new dentist when we moved to st Charles but it's hard to get a hold of them and haven't been able to actually get an appointment booked over months. They always say they need to check with "the schedule manager" or someone else, and I never get any where. They seem to be completely unorganized so if you are looking for somewhere that you don't have to call 10 times just to initiate an appointment as a new customer, I would steer clear. read more

I need a LOT of work done in my mouth- I'm not gonna lie. I walked in there with a bridge GORILLA GLUED in my mouth. My first appointment here, I waited 3 hours....yes 3 hours, to see the Dentist...NO ONE came in to check in, or apologize for my wait. DESPITE my experience, I made a second appointment for a consult to get an estimate on the work that needed to be done, because- the Dentist and her assistant were both very kind, considering I had to wait. Making someone feel comfortable is an excellent trait for Dentist to have, and you don't always find that. SO back for #2, and I am there to see the Periodontist. He comes in, barely looks in my mouth and tells me I am looking at probably 30K to get my smile back again. OF COURSE- I am in tears. I mean, I get it- they have to do what they can to make the most they can from what little you have left in your mouth? But I am a single mom putting her son through college- I make decent $, but I don't have 30K chillin in my savings either- SOOOOO since I had been there -close to 2 hours- (after assuring me it would only be 45 minutes) I was now crying, convinced I would never smile again, and late to get back to the office. I asked him to please give me an estimate for cheapest VS the 30K I was quoted more than once that day, and they told me it would be emailed to me by the end of the day. Cut to over 3 weeks, a half of a dozen calls, and a stop in on my lunch hour, later- and I STILL have no estimate. I mean- I get it....after I was asked the third time, and by the 3rd person what I did for a living that day, I knew it became more about the sale, and less about what was best for me, and my budget. This is the very first YELP review I have ever written, good or bad. If this saves anyone else from going through the experiences that I have gone through with this place? Then it did it's job.
