I could not find any issues and I am super picky when it comes to quality of work. Absolutely professional work. Overall, Nelson, and his installers Lee and Keith did an amazing job. After talking to several contractors about my exterior remodel, some taking hours of my time, I met with Rick from LS&G. We went over my goals in about 15 minutes, he took some measurements, and sent me an estimate a few days later. No pushy sales tactics! His price was very competitive, but I was weary of working with the smaller company. After reading many great reviews I decided to move forward with LS&G. We did Acadia Windows (a local window company), ProVia doors, and Alside Ascend siding (a composite vinyl available in a wide plank). The windows and doors were done by one crew in one day! The siding crew was also fantastic - great attention to detail. Rick and/or the Owner, Dayson, were at my house daily to check on the progress and ensure everything went smoothly. The only delays on the project were my own fault - we decided to get custom shutters which took over a month to arrive. The guys came back out to install them and pointed out to me that the shutters I ordered were a little too large. So I ordered another set of shutters, and Rick was very accommodating to have the guys come back out again to install the right shutters, nearly two months after the rest of the work was done. I can't say enough good things about LS&G. A lot of their reviews are for one door, or a few windows, but I can assure you they can handle a major exterior project, at a highly competitive price point.

This company has no idea what they are doing and the worst customer service. We are building a 4 season room and ordered 19 Weathermaster windows ($19,000). Series of events / dates: * Dec 8, 2023- contact signed, 1/3 payment ($6000) made. * Jan 8, 2024- windows measured and to be ordered, 2/3 payment ($6000) made. Contract said ~7-9 weeks completion. * Feb 26- received call from company, foreign person, saying measurements wrong and need to come/measure again * Feb 28- new measurements done, told the order form never listed what size/where the picture window is and which was tempered glass, questioned why not noticed before and was told they just saw wrong measurements looking at the order form. Expressed being upset my windows were never ordered and sat there for the last 7 1/2 weeks. * Feb 29- called office spoke to Donna complaining we were told windows would be another 4 weeks since re-measurement. Explained that my 4 season room construction (IE: completing entire inside of the room, ceiling, insulation) cannot be finished or even worked on until the inspector comes + see's the completed window installation that this setback is costing us time/money. Asked to have manager call us. * March 1-manager Alen D- called to tell us cannot do the 2 smaller triangle windows and would have to do 2 custom windows. Change order to be emailed. He said a different manager was on my job before but is no longer with the company and my order was just sitting there. Complained they dropped the ball and asked what they were going to do for us. Said he would speak to his supervisor and get back to us. * March 13: called left VM- said never got change order and Alen never called back. * March 18: called asking what is happening with windows was told they did not know and would call us back tomorrow. * March 29: called Alen- was told the windows are in and was going to call us today, scheduled installation date, will get a discount but still has to speak to his manager and will call back and supposed to email change order. * April 9- partial windows installed, they noticed THAT morning that 2 of the windows were wrong. Complained that why on March 29 when the windows came into their warehouse that no one from their company checks orders to make sure they are correct. Windows were also not padded at all (just loose windows/frame) to get from warehouse to my house (installer Rick was commenting was trying to use his own blankets/clothing to try to cushion our windows during delivery). * April 10-spoke to Rick (installer), he confirmed suspicion that the company sold and are new owners as to why we are getting the run around since January. Called to speak to Alen. Was instructed it would be 2 weeks to rush order 2 incorrect windows and would be TOP PRIORITY to get installed due to the mess up, complained that we never heard back from him before and that he always says he will get back to us and never does. He complained its hard to get a hold of his boss ... but will get back by Friday. * April 12: Alen called said most he can do agreeing with owner is 500-700 discount and will send over the change order. * April 24: called following up where the windows were and that change order was never sent - spoke to Austin - he said he would speak to Alen and call me back in 15 min - never called back. * April 25: Called Austin said he left voicemail w/Alen to call me. Spoke to Alen said the windows are in production still waiting to get and will probably come next week, said 700 discount will be sent over via email adding in details for lifetime warranty/no labor/materials/call fees * May 2: emailed saying we havenot heard yet if windows are in and sent edits for contract to Alen. Told company windows need installed by Monday as leaving out of country. Alen called and said windows came in an hour ago and tentatively lined up Saturday for installation. Alen will call back when confirmed. * May 3. Alen called back said waiting to hear from Rick (installer) but should be on for Saturday and he will send new contract. Rick called later that afternoon and said that it is supposed to rain Sat / Monday and will watch the weather and if clear will install. Explained leaving country on cruise vacation and needs in asap for inspector so we can move forward with finishing our addition. They have done windows and siding for us. The windows were first. It took forever for the windows…read moreto arrive because of an ordering snafu. The windows arrived, and when unloading the bow window (which was quite heavy and large), they almost dropped it, and put a small dent in the bottom edge, it isn't fixable. Nothing that interferes with the structural integrity of the window, but it is noticeable if you look right at it. When installing the bow window, they damaged some of the stone wall it rested on. In fairness, the stone had some minor damage before they did anything, but after the window was installed, it had to be repaired. We had to get another company to fix the stonework before the siding could be finished. Excel put in a new sliding patio door, but had the wrong hardware for the door and lock (said it was an order snafu), so we had to wait another two weeks for that. The siding crew were going along fine until one of them managed to cut his hand wide open, necessitating an immediate trip to the ER. After all the stonework was finished, after some prodding, they came back and finished everything. The owner made an adjustment on our bill because of all the delays, which was appreciated. Everything (aside from the dent)looks ok. Today, we found metal scrap pieces and a box of nails in the side yard, and about 1/2 a box sprinkled through the grass in the side yard, and that was just what we could find ourselves. The owner is coming over this afternoon with a magnet to sweep the yard. This should have been done the last day of the job. Unprofessional to say the least, and I'm tired of the excuses. If you want to babysit grown men, hire this bunch. They do ok work, but take forever, and it's one thing after another, excuse after excuse. Just think about how high your bs tolerance is, and hire accordingly. Knowing what I do now, I would have chosen differently.

Upon close examination of the work once completed, I discovered they had nailed the siding straight into the side of my house (instead of installing furring strips). In skipping the furring strip step (for which I had paid), they materially changed the terms of the contract without clearing the change with the homeowner and saved themselves two days of labor in an effort to maximize profits, quality be damned. Excel Remodeling's actions were dishonest, and as the owner of the company admitted in the aftermath, a poor business decision. He explained to me that they weren't trying to pull one over on me, but that his foreman had made this business decision and informed the owner two days into what was supposed to be a four day job. Nonetheless, the owner never bothered to mention this important fact to me at any point after he was informed of this change, so judge for yourself. To be fair, once Excel Remodeling was caught skipping steps in their work, the company did return to my home, took every piece of siding down, installed the furring strips they were contractually obligated to install in the first place, and reinstalled the siding. They did this without trouble, quickly, and the owner was quite apologetic. Regardless, "Caveat Emptor," as the saying goes.

I finally had enough as Skip does nothing but make excuses and actually no longer responds, so I replaced several windows that thankfully I didn't let him do. While I was doing these, I decided I needed to replace this bathroom window that builds up ice every winter. Wouldn't you know it...there is a HUGE gap between the bottom of the window and the jamb. We were given a price and the contract was signed that same day! The agent came the next week to measure her floor for the exact measurements and once Chris had the info he called back & the price did change by about $1k but still an excellent price! She put a deposit down when we first went there then paid the rest of invoice when they scheduled the installation. We don't know time frames for ordering products but it took over a month before she got another call to schedule the install. The installers came yesterday & were very professional & did a good job. They even matched up the molding coming into the kitchen & around cabinets and walls and it was perfect. It did take all day but overall great work and again the floor looks amazing.
