Bottom line; Don't use this company - they do not stand behind their work. 8/22 - I had a tiny leak in upstairs water pipe, mind you this is a pressurized water line. Lindsay Company was contracted by American Home Shield (AHS) to "fix" the leak. Lindsay Co. technician put a band-aid on a pressurized pipe and after about 8 day half of the ceiling and blown installation had extensive water damage. 8/30 - Lindsay Co. Sent out technician to replace ~12' of pipe. No more leaks. However, the technician left pipe and materials in the room and in the attic. Nice, but not professional. 09/13 - AHS sent out ceiling repair contractor to fix the damages done by plumber and to fix where they accessed ceiling to repair pipe. After the subcontractor assessed the damage they said they could not fix. I was told by AHS that they are not responsible for secondary damages, and they would only fix small patch ~2'x2'. The damaged ceiling included over 52 SF of replacement, tape, float, texture, and paint. I explained the damages were the direct result of AHS's plumber not performing work properly. AHS told me I needed to contact Lindsay, I reminded AHS that I did not contract with Lindsay - my contract is with AHS. AHS said they would reach out to Lindsay and have them resolve the issue. AHS then turned around and charged me $125 to have the ceiling contractor come to the house. FYI - I had an independent contractor provide an estimate of $1,400 to repair/replace the ceiling (not including insulation). 10/9 - AHS agrees to send reimbursement. It was for $220. I told them that was not enough. 10/26 - AHS agreed to send another $280. I settled for $500. Final Recommendation: I cannot say enough about the poor customer service by both AHS and the Lindsay Company. I would not recommend either company. I have spent 2 months and over 2 dozen phone calls waiting hours on end, fighting for AHS to do the right thing. This is contract dispute between a subcontractor and AHS. This should not be an issue for a home owner to resolve. As a corporation, AHS should have reimbursed the entire $1,400 for damages done by their subcontractor and go after the sub for back charge. As a contractor, Lindsay Co. should have owned up to their mistake and paid to have the ceiling repaired at Lindsay Co. costs. I would also recommend AHS remove Lindsay Company from their "approved" vendor list and hire reputable contractors. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I am SO disappointed with the level of service and professionalism from the technician who came out to my home. He walked into my home and instantly started diagnosing my issue without even looking at the problem area. When asked if he was going to at least take a look at the problem, he asked for a the location of the clean out. My husband was not familiar with the location and asked for a few minutes to look for our home paperwork and the technician would not wait. All in all, the technician was at our home no more than 20 minutes and somehow diagnosed our problem without looking at the problem area. Don't waste your time. When they came out they ran the water for less than 2 minutes and said there was not a current leak so there was nothing they could do about it despite the fact I had a water cup that was filled with dirty water showing exactly where the leak was coming from. They were sent by American Home Shield home warranty service to look at a broken toilet. He told us that the issue was improper installation, but he would have leave and "check" if the warranty would cover it. Later, AHS called me and said that the plumber told them the issue was caused by us (homeowners), not improper installation (he specifically put "properly installed" on the sheet), and that it was not covered. They added that the Lindsay Company quoted nearly $600 to fix it for us. I went back and forth with AHS and Lindsay for a while, but couldn't get the decision changed, so I requested a second opinion service call from AHS. This time they sent someone from SAP Home Repair, who fixed the problem under warranty within an hour. Avoid the Lindsay Company. They're scam artists. read more

Our home insurance contracted Lindsay Company to investigate what appeared to be water damage in our master bathroom. The first plumber that visited our home was not able to conclude what exactly the source of the leak was. He stated that he had an "educated guess" as to what the source of the potential leak was but would not be certain until he could see inside the walls to get a clearer image of the piping. He also recommended that we get someone with a leak detector and/or moisture detector come to our home in order to learn the extent of where the leakage may have traveled to because he was unable to identify that by a simple visual inspection. The gentleman said he would call our home insurance company to let them know of his observations and inconclusive results. Fast forward, a second plumber from Linday Company is sent back to our home after a home restoration company opened up our walls and discovered that there was extensive water damage that was affecting multiple rooms in our home. When this second plumber came to our home the first thing he uttered once he stepped foot into my house was that "they", as in the Lindsay Company, had already told us what the source of the water leak was and that it had nothing to do with plumbing. At this point he had not stepped foot in the master bathroom and frankly, appeared to be annoyed to have been sent to our home to re-evaluate an inconclusive evaluation. As stated previously, the first plumber was informative but made it very clear to us that he could not tell us with certainty that the issue was due to plumbing based on the limited view he had of the plumbing system. What I was most applauded at was at how rude and dismissive Linday's plumber was without even taking a look at the issue himself. We had a restoration company open up our walls in order to arrive to a definitive answer of whether it was indeed plumbing or not. The second plumber was in my home for no more than 5 minutes, did not run the shower, and said it was the tiles - end of story. Extremely unprofessional and dismissive. Would not recommend Lindsay Company and will most certainly not use them again. read more

My warranty company sent The Lindsay Company for a service request on my dishwasher/garbage disposal unit. The visit barely lasted more than 5 minutes as the Lindsay repairman did the bare minimum in examining the issue. For instance, when I explained to the repairman that there may be a connection problem between the two appliances, he looked under the sink, ran his flashlight over for about 20 seconds, and said that he didn't see any issue. Without even looking at the dishwasher, he said that must be the issue but didn't elaborate or investigate the issue any further. Also, the repairman had a nonchalant attitude throughout the visit with bad customer service to boot. I called Lindsay immediately afterwards to complain, but never got a response. For all of the above reasons, I wouldn't recommend anyone use this company should they have a plumbing issue. read more

Fairly timely and honest. I had an issue with my water heater not staying lit recently and had this company dispatched to check it out via American Home Shield. Wasn't sure what to expect given the reviews, but they called a half hour ahead like they promised, arrived and got to work. Turns out my own handywork wasn't as handy as I'd hoped as I tried to repair it, but after a few minutes longer he gave it the nod and was on his way, water heating once more as expected. Well here goes another AHS/Lindsay Company debacle. Is anyone noticing a trend here? I as with many others would give zero stars if I could! AHS was contacted for a plumbing leak at the base of a toilet! The plumber from Lindsay came out and found a broken flange and washed out wax seal. He called AHS and reports (in his opinion) it was either due to a foundation shift or over tightening of the bolts (I have yet to see this persons Structural Engineering Degree so no bona fides to support his claim). Bear in mind we have lived in this house for over 15 years and no one has touched said toilet in that time. With that knowledge a slab shift of the magnitude to damage a PVC flange would have manifested itself by breaking the porcelain long before the PVC not to mention a myriad of other maladies with the house. An over tightening of the bolts would have manifested itself long before 15 years. In the voicemail I received from AHS denying the claim the respondent stated with a number of "If's" regarding the job the contractor would charge $575.00. It has been my experience that whenever a contractor starts with a bunch of "If's" for the rather straightforward job that he/she has firsthand knowledge of it is usually a clear "Red Flag" that it is going to cost a whole lot more than the estimate. So, I get to ruin my Saturday and for around $50.00 in parts will do the job myself. At least then I can be assured of quality work and not the poor experience others here have had! Here goes with the update. It has taken me a while to come up with as diplomatic an answer as I could. After reading the owners response.... "12/5/2019 The pictures show the flange below the finished floor. The flange should be above finished floor so the horn of the water closet can sit inside the flange......". The flange was above the finished floor! Albeit only 1/8 of an inch and not at the recommended 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. The reason AHS denied the claim is that Tom provided inaccurate statements to AHS! As I mentioned in the original review he stated that the problem was either a slab movement or over-tightening of the bolts. BTW - I have the voicemail left for me by AHS if you would like to hear it. I will be dealing with AHS in a letter. Well I spent the time to do a thorough inspection as I replaced the flange. The actual failure was due to the wax seal developing a leak over time and causing focused corrosion and eventual failure of the metal ring. This led to the eventual catastrophic failure causing the PVC flange to crack. In addition, Tom made a number of additional inaccurate statements to my wife and AHS! I will outline them below: 1. To my wife - He stated he had never seen a toilet flange installed in the manner that this was. In actuality it was a rather standard install utilizing a metal ringed flange designed to glue inside a 4-inch PVC pipe. 2. To AHS - He stated the same inaccuracy as mentioned above that it was a deeper flange. It was not, Oatey makes the replacement! 3. To AHS - He would have to locate the correct flange. Well at this writing a near identical flange (updated with a stainless-steel ring) is available at the Home Depot 5 miles from my house showing 42 in stock on Aisle 12, Bay 12 for $7.29! 4. To AHS - If he would not run into difficulties i.e. having to break out concrete or tile, etc.. The cost to me would be $575.00. Well I was able to use a drill and cutting wheel to remove the top part of the flange. This revealed that I needed to cut through the insert at the top of the sewer pipe. This was handled easily with my Dremel and a plastic cutting wheel. I was then able to notch the insert with a straight hacksaw and chisel out the old insert. So as evidenced with the above facts I would NEVER use The Lindsay Company! I do not feel the person my wife had to deal with was honest or he has not had adequate training. read more

Called to have my shower fixed because it was spraying water out of the valve- put the knob back on wrong so the cold is really hot and hot is cold(no attention to detail) and it still sprays water out. Came into contact with this company through American Home Shield for a toilet repair. This has been one of the WORST customer experiences I've encountered. Plumber "Eddy" came to address a toilet leak and left the job without re-sealing the toilet, without connecting it to the bolts AND left the water supply in. Significant ceiling damage has occurred. The Lindsay Co. is dishonest and claimed to AHS that I altered the tile floor (wrong, it's 15 years old), needed over $1100 of modifications to correct the issue (wrong), and that they didn't cause the noted damage after I sent them timestamped and dated pictures of the water damage within 15 minutes of Eddy leaving the job. Lindsay Plumbing - #Unit 20 - Plumbing Near Me - Harris County, Texas

The Lindsay company was dispatched to my house for my hot water heater, by American Homeshield. I will be honest, I was concerned at the number of negative reviews that they have Yelp but didn't have much choice since they were dispatched from AHS. I opened the ticket on Saturday and was told by AHS that someone would call me within 24 hours to arrange a service call, never got a call, so I called AHS on Sunday. They said that contractor was closed (so did TLC voicemail but I left a message anyways). Called in to TLC early Monday morning, got voicemail again, had to call AHS to get someone on the phone. Got afternoon appointment and tech came out to look at hot water heater, he determined it needed to be replaced since it was 24 year old and was leaking. In addition to that due to the age of install, multiple items needed to be done to bring up to code. 4 people at AHS said all costs were covered, but their approval dept said no. Still arguing with them. Replied to the email from TLC on Monday night telling them to move forward with the repair since it had been days without hot water. Since I responded to the email Monday night I expected to be scheduled Tuesday for install. That did not happen. When I finally was able to speak with someone from TLC (after having to call AHS to get them on the phone again) they schedule my replacement on Wednesday. Andrew was the tech and had a helper onsite too. He called in the morning to let me know they were on their way. They removed the old water heater, performed the code update work and installed new water heater in decent time. No mess was made, they were professional and he took the time to talk to me about the whole ordeal as well as operating instructions on new heater. The only negative I have for The Lindsay Company is that it is extremely difficult to contact them via phone. I never did receive a response from the email I sent but that may be because I kept calling the following day. Andrew did his job and did it well. I can see some of the negative reviews being extremely similiar to my situation but that is not TLC fault it is AHS employees fault for not knowing their customers contracts and coverage. If they tell you it's $100 service fee, that does not include any code update work. If you have an older home, expect to need some of it done. They said my gas line was "out of code" and to replace what is maybe a 10 foot section of CSST running from my cut off valve in the wall to the oven connection was going to $1500.00 plus the cost of cutting out then replacing the back panel and bottom of my cabinets. I just moved into a new home and on Day 2 I've noticed the water connection where the water line goes into the refrigerator leaks when you attempt to turn it on (we never turned it on, so currently no ice). Also, one of our two water heaters does not seem to be working (although it was yesterday). I've called AHS and I see they've assigned Lindsay. I wasn't familiar with Lindsay so after googling them I've stumbled onto these reviews. I'm hoping for the best, and am rating them 5 stars now. Hopefully my experience with Lindsay/AHS will live up to the preliminary rating of 5 and I'll avoid the trouble it seems many others have experienced. We have dealt with The Lindsay Company twice for plumbing issues (2 different issues). They were dispatched via our home warranty company (AHS) in December, and we requested them again last week. On both occasions, the representative that schedules the technician to come out was very timely, calling to set up an appointment less than 5 minutes after we placed the service request. Both times the plumber arrived within 24 hours of the call. Per their policy, we were given a 2 hour window of arrival, and contacted 30 minutes prior to arrival. Both plumbers arrived and immediately assessed the issue, called into AHS with the diagnosis, and repaired the issue immediately. They were respectful of our personal time, and professionally completed the work. They defintely provided 5 star service. read more

Terrible customer service. Forget about getting a call back from a "supervisor." i am still waiting...3 months later. The problem started with a clogged toilet. I called my home warranty company, and was sent a plumber from lindsay co. They arrived two days after I called. The person who arrived was SO rude, said he didn't see a problem since the toilet flushed. then he proceeded to throw a roll of toilet paper down there and said oh, you have a clog because you use too much toilet paper and your toilet is a low volume toilet. When I yelled at him for being an idiot, since low volume/flush toilets have been working just fine for the past 6 months since I have lived in the house, and asked him to snake the toilet, he decided to do a rush job, snaking and didn't get the clog. He wanted his money and left. I refused to give him the check since he had NOT unclogged the toilet ... and he yelled back at me and left. I called immediately to him company and said I never wanted to see this guy ever again and to have the supervisor call me. No one ever called to hear my side and I imagine this idiot is still out there pretending to know what he's doing. I feel sorry for whomever gets him next. So, do yourself a favor and don't hire these clowns pretending to plumbers. read more

Due to this leak, I can't use the washer/dryer or the only shower. With a family of five including three under 5 years old, this is not a feasible long-term plan. Terrible service!!! I've been waiting for 2 weeks for an "expedited" faucet shipment w paid extra for. Called twice with no return calls. Called another time and the message was to call back when it arrives. Today we call and apparently the faucet is no longer in stock and we need to call manufacturer to have replaced. American Home Shield sent them out to repair my tankless hot water. The guy reset it, it worked & he left. it stopped working again, when my husband called him he said he wouldn't come back out and that we had to file another claim through AHS. At this point he said the manifold needed to be cleaned for $875. Why didn't he mention this while he was at my house? He made $125 for not fixing my water heater. After fighting with AHS another company came out and fixed my water heater. It turned out there was moisture in the drainage line which affected the gas flow, and the heater was displaying error code 11.... The guy that came from the Lindsey company could have fixed it if he was a competent plumber, he just didn't give a damn since it was through AHS and from what I understand they don't make as much money when you go through AHS vs calling them out yourself and not going through AHS. The manifold had absolutely nothing to do with our problem. He obviously didn't check for an error code or just didn't know what he was doing. Really want my $125 back since the Lindsey company did not do what they were supposed to do. Maybe they're good if you don't use AHS but I will tell everyone that they are horrible bc they took my money & ran and couldn't care less if my issue was fixed or not. read more

If I could give 0 stars to complete a review on this company I would. I had an appointment scheduled today with a 4hr window for their arrival (which I was fine with). The plumber calls me and says he can be at my home in 20 minutes but I was about 35 or 40 minutes from my home. His words (Chad) were "well I'm not gonna wait for you so you will need to call the office and reschedule". I call the office and spoke with Michelle preparing to reschedule when she decides to tell me "well sir a 4hr window is our policy so I'm not sure why you are complaining". This was odd because my displeasure was in the way the plumber responded to me being about 35 minutes from my home and then I get a similar response from her. The technician came to my house and said that our issue was the rusted toilet flange, it needed to be replaced, but American Home Shield did not cover it. After reviewing our contract and seeing that it didn't mention anything that may indicate that we called AHS and they said all the technician reported was that the toilet was leaking due to a cosmetic issue. I woke up on Sunday to water coming into my bedroom from my attic. I assumed it was from my decades old water heater and called American Home Shield. They assigned my work order to The Lindsay Company. Domingo was at my house within hours. I have no complaints about the timing as I was grateful to have someone at my house to help me on a Sunday. Domingo very quickly identified the leak was actually from a pipe, not from the water heater, however, the water heater was also leaking. He fixed the leaking pipe in under 20 minutes and filed the claim with AHS for the water heater without my having to ask. AHS called me the same day to let me know that, due to the extreme age of the water heater, my plumbing connections would have to be brought up to code. These costs are not covered by my warranty. I called on Monday to get the details about the additional costs and spoke to Stephanie. She explained that someone else would have to help me and took my name and number. Shortly thereafter, Matt called me. He was very helpful and provided me with all of the information I needed to be comfortable with the work to be done and scheduled the install for today, Wednesday. As promised, Domingo called to let me know he was on the way to my home. He is currently in my attic installing my new water heater. I see that others have had problems with The Lindsay Company, but I have no complaints and have been very pleased by the service and courtesies I've received. read more

AHS sent this company to my home for my water heater! the tech was there 15 min max and I happen to call mid way of the 15 min. he told me that the tank needed to get serviced (flushed) and the elements needed to be changed. he then stated he could flush it for $300 and that the only thing covered by AHS services was getting it turned back on. I told him that the tech before him had to flush it a bit to get those elements changed and he stated that there was a maintenance charge of the $300 for that services. I told him no thank you. he stated he will be putting on the service notes that I never did regular maintenance and that he changed the elements to get it working again and that AHS would deny any claim to replace it by him putting those notes. again he was at my home for literally 15 min! my father watched him and asked him how was he able to change the elements without spilling any water? he stated he can do that. my father said it will be going off again in about a month and the tech stayed it will be less time than that. it was NOT conducted correctly at all and the tech was rude and lied!! needless to say im having them send out a different company and put lindsey on the do not call list for my account. read more

The worst. Total crooks. AHS sent them out so I didn't have a choice of using another contractor. First time guy never came back to fix my faucet as he said he was checking for parts. The second time the same jerk came back to fix a leaking pipe. Unlike the other joints this leak had no solder around it and was obviously poorly constructed. But he concluded my pipe must have been hit by some traumatic force and that must've caused the leak. Thus it wasn't covered by insurance. There's no way that could have happened. The pipe is completely solid. Because it wasn't covered by insurance he now has free reign to negotiate any price or option to repair the leak at his discretion. So he said he wanted 800 to fix it and said he'd have to tear out the brick wall on the outside and would need to bring back help. I asked him why he couldn't just solder it. He said because there's water in the pipe. No duh. Guess he didn't think about turning off the water first. Total nonsense. And totally rude when I disputed his conclusion as to the cause of the leak or options on fixing it. It was obvious what his agenda was. Never again. Update: I got my problem fixed for $150 by a local company. This compared to the $800 Lindsay company wanted to charge me to rip out my wall. Lindsay intentionally misdiagnoses the problem so they don't have to go through the warranty company. If they go through the warranty company they don't make money. If it's misdiagnosed so it's "not covered" then they get the full profit without having to discount it. The other reviewer who claims its all home warranty repair complainers just doesn't get it. It's about honesty. These guys are dishonest. Plain and simple. They shouldn't be in the business of home warranty repair. read more

Like many people effected by the recent cold weather, we had broken pipes. The company was referred to us from friends and responded very quickly to our request for service. The company sent Domingo Lopez and his assistant. They showed on time, were polite and very professional. Not only did they repair our broken pipes, they took time to check all of our other internal pipes and external faucets. During their review, they pointed out our hot water heater in the attic, needed replacement by looking at its serial number & date, noticed rusted water and gurgling noise. The last thing we needed was another water problem in our home. Our hot water heater was replaced one week later after the pipes were repaired by the same workers. In summary, I highly recommend The Lindsay Company because of their prompt service, reasonable prices and professionalism. read more

The tech told AHS that both toilets were "forced to the back" causing a crack. These toilets have been in my house for over 15 years and have only had normal use. They find faults that fall outside of AHS coverage, over charge for services, and then threaten to shutoff gas over an invoice that was waiting approval. Andrew the technician - at least spoke english. He charged $685 for 2 hours of work, thats over $250 an hour for him and a helper! The main part was provided by Rheem and the vent parts by Lindsay. They also dont pick up their phone outside of 8 to 3:30 from monday through Friday...good luck trying to get them after 3:15 on Friday even after multiple messages. it took 6 visits for a water heater fix with American Home shield which is another story. read more

The Lindsay Company visited our home to repair some leaks. They were assigned to us via our American Home Shield warranty. This review is specific to the services provided by The Lindsay Company. The technician that visited our home was not very timely and, when he arrived, was very brusque in explaining the repairs and what he could, and could not, repair via our AHS warranty. He was proficient in doing the work, much of what I paid for out of pocket, but had a rather poor demeanor in terms of communication and customer service. Overall, this made for a rather uncomfortable experience. The tech assessed the issues and started working, and then I think he took a lunch break in the middle of working? I noticed about an hour after he arrived, he was sitting in his vehicle eating while I was waiting inside for him to finish repairs. Note I took off time from work to drive 30 minutes home to meet the tech to make the repairs. Ultimately, my experience with The Lindsay Company was a negative one, and I would not recommend nor contract their services again. If I request plumbing repairs again in the future via AHS, I will kindly ask to use a different contractor or I will find another company on my own. read more

I too have been dealing with The Lindsay Company through AHS. THEY ARE TERRIBLE!! I have had to schedule them to out 3 times in two weeks. Each time the girl on the phone to schedule appointments is super rude and very unaccommodating. Each time I have had to miss work and they are unwilling to work with you on scheduling conflicts even though they should have done it right the first time. They use AHS as an excuse to do poor plumbing work. They told me when my sink line clogged for the third time that they should probably run a camera down to see what the problem was, but would not do it because AHS probably wouldn't approve it. So you know how to solve the problem but won't....AWESOME. YOUR THE PLUMBER... FIX THE PROBLEM!! I would not recommend anyone to use this company whether you use AHS or not. If AHS tries to assign this company to fix your issue, ask for a different company. read more
