A tech came on a Monday for diagnostics; said I need a new motor for the air handler and someone would call with a definitive estimate. By the end of the day, no one had called. Tuesday, no one called, so I called and talked to their AI bot, who said someone would call. No one called. Wednesday afternoon I noticed they sent an email that morning with a ridiculously high quote. Have service contract and warranty on both of my units. Motor goes out on one of my units that is covered by warranty. Takes an hour and half to fix. Pay nothing for part, but $780 for labor for a 90 minute job. Fortunately received a 15% discount..... They have been very good over the years and technicians are good, but the hidden charges and constant upselling by technicians is alarming. $935 for UV lamp in unit to kill mold, go to Home Depot and have handyman install for $60. I called Saturday at 7 PM because my AC drain is clogged, water is leaking everywhere, and it's getting electrical cables wet--clearly a dangerous situation. And what do they say? We have used Lindstrom to service our HVAC unit with a service contract. Their maintenance person came out to check everything. Next thing I know, had a $1300 bill and he suggested a technician visit for a potential leak. He shows up the next day after another $300 charge, telling me we need a new unit. I then get a visit from their sales person who wants me to buy a new unit for $19,000. I ask a friend for another company as a second opinion. Boca Cool came out to assure me everything is fine for now. I called Lindstrom to ask to speak to management since I also renewed our maintenance contract asking for a refund. The plumber was a joke and cried because my toilet install was upstairs. He said he couldn't do it and had to come back with more people and tried to charge me $ 99 for coming out to cry about it. No service was completed. He also tried to charge us $ 1200 to install 4 toilets. I called someone else who was able to do it for $ 800 and only one person. He didn't cry once. The AC man came out and didn't do anything. He didn't try to service at all and said that I needed a new AC. I wasn't home and my elderly mother-in-law was there. He said I owed him $ 99 for the service. Again, he did nothing. I called the company to get that refunded and they said no, that just him breathing air at my house was $ 99. We have been customers of Lindstorm AC and Pluming of Pompano about 10 years. They installed our Trane system new. We have always maintained the twice a year service contract with them. Approximately 6 weeks ago the system was serviced, and they convinced us to install UV lights. This was not cheap, and they spent several hours trying to get the system back up and running after the UV light installation. Not sure if this is related or not. Last night the AC system quit working, we checked all the circuit brakers, reset system, and validated no water buildup in the tray. We called the Emergency number, as stated on the Maintenace agreement for "priority service." We were told the earliest they could be out was tomorrow between 3-5. However, they put on us on list if they get a cancellation. As the house continues to rise above 82, I called back. The woman on the phone hung up on me when I asked if there was any way they can come sooner? I've always written them 5 start reviews but hanging up on me was unacceptable. I'm not a nasty person, I just wanted to understand the "priority service when needed" as stated in THIER maintenance agreement. I waited to see if she would return the call in case she accidently disconnected. NO call! So, I called back and sat in the que again for another 5 callers to complete. Yes, I'm now hot in more than one way. We have recommended this company many times over the last 10 years. The sad part is they have failed us when we needed them most. I guess they have grown so much over the last 10 years they lost touch with treating long term customers with respect and dignity. I had a new HVAC system installed by Lindstrom, and the experience has been extremely frustrating due to both poor workmanship and a lack of accountability. During the install, Lindstrom failed to reconnect the fresh air damper that was part of my original system (likely code-required, as the home was built in 2013). This issue was caught by the city inspector during the final permit inspection, who told me Lindstrom would be required to fix it in order to close the permit. When I called Lindstrom, they sent a "supervisor" who incorrectly told me the motor was dead and blamed the water buildup on a possible roof leak. I then hired a licensed roofer and a second HVAC company (Air Ref) to investigate. The roofer found no issues, and Air Ref confirmed that the motor was fully functional. The actual problem was that Lindstrom had simply failed to wire the system properly during installation. I ended up paying over $300 out of pocket to fix something Lindstrom should have diagnosed and resolved themselves. Despite multiple calls and emails, no one from Lindstrom's management ever got back to me. I was told their installation manager, Travis, would contact me--but he never did. The only person who communicated with me at all was Val, the original salesperson who gave me the estimate. He eventually told me a refund would be issued, but even after that, I've received nothing. Bottom line: The installation was sloppy, the diagnosis was incorrect, and the customer service from the management team was nonexistent. A longtime customer treated like a nuisance. Shameful. I've been a loyal Lindstrom customer for years across multiple properties, and what happened recently is not only disappointing -- it's unacceptable. One of my property's AC units stopped working. I called Lindstrom, was told it was a bad motor, and paid over $1,000 for the repair. I was also strongly urged to purchase a maintenance plan, which I did. A few days later, the unit started making a LOUD noise. Called again -- they said it was a faulty motor they had just installed. So they replaced it again. A few days after that, the same loud noise returned. Another tech came out and this time said the fan blade was now bad and needed replacing. My mom (trying to help) gave them a $90 deposit for the part, which she shouldn't have -- the damage was caused by their install. But Lindstrom ordered the part and returned to install it... then billed me for it. Here's the kicker: I later got a text to schedule my maintenance appointment (which, again, was already paid for). I scheduled it and had my mom wait -- but no one showed. When I called, I was told they wouldn't come out until I paid the balance for the fan repair. So now they're holding pre-paid services hostage over a charge that resulted from their own mistake? That's predatory and dishonest. I contacted customer service and was passed to a supervisor who just parroted back what someone else clearly told her to say. No accountability. No resolution. No one seemed to care that I've been a paying customer with multiple properties over the years. Lindstrom used to be reliable -- not anymore. After several attempts to fix our A/C issue with a company that failed three times to identify and locate a leak, ( it took them more than "ONE HOUR" each time ), we decided to try Lindstrom... and glad we did! On the first visit Technician Sam found where the leak was, gave a gas charge until he could return and repair. The problem was remedied in about four hours by Technician Sam and we were able to enjoy a cool night's sleep! We had a maint agreement with Lindstrom for our AC unit that they installed orig. Three days ago, service guy comes out, services our unit, has me sign a few things at the end and leaves. Later that night my kids call and the house is 84 degrees, I troubleshoot everything I can and everything checks out. I then called Lindstrom and they tell me they cannot have anyone come out and look at it until the morning, (what a HOT night). Guy shows up next afternoon and finds the breaker on air handler was turned off for maint and never turned back on. I've lost confidence so I called three days later to cancel, was on hold for LITERALLY 14 minutes after my cancel request, and was told that I would have to pay for the service appt three days ago where the guy came and turned my unit off leaving me without AC. The first technician named Brad told us the problem was the coil and the real problem was freon pipes, and left us without AC for 3 days WITHOUT telling us about a portable AC unit they could have rented to us. Another technician named Albert was practically useless and told us he didn't have a boss who could approve a discount for dragging us around for a week and said we had to call their customer service and wait on hold 20 minutes just for someone to begrudgingly give us 10% off. In 2024 Lindstrom installed a Trane AC unit in my house. A year later (2025) compressor didn't come on. I was told me the parts were covered under warranty but not labor ($99). A technician responded to fix the AC. He soon discovered that two wires weren't connected. The primary technician apparently didn't properly install all the components which led to the AC not functioning over time. This is a shameful situation because if the technician who responded today was dishonest, this service call would've ended up costing me $99. Lindstrom needs to train their technicians to do a better job. Oh and might I add that the wires were cut so short that today's technician had a difficult time accessing them to fix them read more

We had an excellent experience with this company. My husband chose them because of their proximity to our condo. We'd been using another A/C company, unhappily, for years. We even had a service contract with the old company. Lindstrom was a real "breath of fresh air"! They answered the phone; if you had to wait on the phone at all, they let you know the wait time and position. They made appointments right away. They confirmed the appointments by text. They called to remind you on the day of the appointment again. They called just before the technician arrived to say he was on the way. Each person actually showed up within the time frame you were told. Our problem was diagnosed. We were given a reasonable quote. Sam, our technician, came back at a convenient time for us and worked diligently to correct our problem. And within a short time, it was fixed. We now have cool air! Afterwards, They sent a copy of the invoice and pictures by email. We were so satisfied that we signed a new service contract with Lindstrom. We paid approximately $24,000 for 2 new Carrier units in Nov 2024. As I write this, it is Sept 2025, so it has not been a year. We were on a 4 night trip and upon return, one of the units was not working. This is the first occurrence. As my husband was still out of town, I asked him for tips. As he wasn't there, and the unit was still new, he wasn't as familiar with it. He looked up the Lifetime Warranty and informed me there is to be no charge for failing parts or replacement of parts, according to their website (pasted below). I called the customer service number at 5:24 pm on Monday, Sept 22, 2025 as the company falsely advertises 24/7 emergency service. The operator said no one was available and I'd have to wait until 11 am - 1 pm tomorrow for a tech to be called out. So that emergency service was a lie. Then the person I spoke with went on to say it will be a $99 charge. I said, I shouldn't be charged as we haven't even had the units for a year and this should be covered under warrant. She said she was unable to discuss any charge and that I could handle that with the tech. The tech arrived at 12:30 pm the next day within the time frame, was courteous and said the unit just needed a "reset". I asked why the person answering the call didn't give trouble-shooting tips like this? I asked how to reset it for future reference and he advised what to do. Still he "had to charge me $99". I advised of the warranty and he said his hands were tied. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He couldn't let me talk to them directly but he called his supervisor, who escalated to another supervisor named "Dolce". Dolce refused to talk to me and would only talk to the tech. I advised the tech I wasn't paying for this as there should be no charge. What poor customer service is this! This company is horrible. They send out unlicensed plumbers and HVAC techs to do the work that should be done by someone who is licensed. I know this for a fact because I am the mother of a previous employee. When your AC breaks you expect someone that is licensed to come to your house. Not with Lindstrom. Thankfully my son has another job, but if you are thinking of working for them RUN as fast as you can! They will make promises that will never happen, they will tell you you'll receive a raise, it wont happen. Then when they want you to quit so they don't have to pay you unemployment they will just reduce your hours to 5 a week. Then its time to find another job, only to not get your full final paycheck bc they say you now owe money for the uniform, which guys, we all know can be turned in as the patches with the names are removeable. So a final paycheck for 20 hours is $50.00. I am a CFO to a national General Contractor and we would NEVER use Lindstrom for ANYTHING. Pay a little extra and lets get someone licensed to fix your problems. As for working there, there are so many better companies out there that actually value their employees and their well being. I am hoping Doug Lindstrom resolves my condemns as noted below. I am not the type of person who writes negative reviews. This event truly disturbed me. The tech was polite and neat but my issue goes behind the scenes An apparent price gouging We had our scheduled maintenance today and was told we need a new capacitor-after going on line the same capacitor costs between 22 and $27. We were charged $350 and that was with a discount price of $500, as we were told. It's outrageous and will be asking them to return and discuss this issue and validate if I actually needed a new capacitor and why was the price so inflated. Outrageous - it has now become principle and honesty. I have used this company for years. Even if labor was high, the tech was already here on a scheduled maintenance call. There was no travel. I will repost the outcome of my complaint and type of response I get from the company. I also recommend you follow any tech outside and watch their work and question any inconsistencies. That is a lessons learned - I also notified the better business bureau just in case I do not get a professional response in settling my concerns! The more I think about this the more disappointed I am with Lindstrom. I am a loyal customer and feel we were ripped off! My goal is not to cause bad service review but to get our issue corrected - I purposely keep the capacitor that was replaced and would like this be rechecked by Lindstrom. Had service on both the ac and plumbing. For the plumbing: Will was great, needed work done under the kitchen sink. Upon his initial visit he explained the service contract and the discount for parts he was very nice really good customer service I did sign up for a service contract for the plumbing and they subtracted the $99 he flushed out the water heater and made the necessary repairs for the supply line under the sink. For the air conditioner: I had Dwight he couldn't have been nicer, he was very detailed and thorough on the maintenance, which was very much appreciated, as it could be miss or hit with some technicians, because of that and I did sign up for the ac maintenance. The one suggestion I would make is to simplify the maintenance contract by making it inclusive for both! read more

Run as fast as you can to another AC company. Lindstrom was gutted of their former high quality service when they were bought by a private equity company last year. If you read only this - know this wrecked their 'family run' business into a profit only oriented company (who cares about the customer?!?). I scheduled Lindstrom to have a tech come do their $129 annual service appointment, which quickly turned into a HARD SELL for a new AC system even though mine is functioning I just wanted a piece of mind. No actual service was done. After the appointment, I tried calling for help at their office, after 4 times being told I'd get a call back and never got one I contacted my Credit Card company and they opened a dispute. A few days later, magically Lindstrom called me, apologized and offered a refund and the dispute was closed out. Great... then the HELL started. A month and a half later they sent me to collections for the unpaid, refunded, service that was not completed. Lovely. I tried calling them 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times to get ahold of someone over a weeks time to sort it out. "We'll have a supervisor call you" never to get a call. After doing some searching online asking leadership names at the company I got someone to call. And once again, I got negotiated to pay for the service I didnt actually get... again. Fine, I paid the bill and they promised they'd sort out the collections and I could move past this insanity AGAIN. Nearly 2 months later ANOTHER collections notice, they never informed the company (per them) that the account was paid up. Another 5 calls to lindstrom, promised call backs, over a week no go. The collections agency finally stepped in, after a plea to them, magically Lindstrom calls me and closes it out. Needless to say, unless you're buying a new AC from them, they don't care about the customer, good luck getting ahold of anyone, and generally they are just terrible to deal with. Oh and as a customer just looking for service, be ready to get sold something you dont need. Finallly, please hope you don't land in a viscious hell like I did going in circles with them, wasting 10-15 hours sorting out phone calls to close out a bill for a service not even rendered. Please, I wouldnt have written this if I didnt care about the next customer, please try a different company, they are not the same company as they were a year ago. It included a 10 year labor warranty from Mechanical Air on top of Carrier's parts warranty. My fault- I forgot about the labor warranty. Based on recommendations, I signed up with Lindstrom for a maintenance plan. December 2022, we needed to replace the evaporator coil. The part was covered but Lindstrom charged me $1144 for labor. Fast forward to May 2024. The evaporator coil needed to be replaced again. I had a small company come and diagnose it. He looked up our unit and saw that it was covered with parts and labor warranty from Mechanical Air. He recommended we use Mechanical Air since it would be totally covered and walked away from a big job. June 2024, we're having problems again with the same unit. Mechanical Air said I need an evaporator motor and an air purifier door. I mentioned that Lindstrom had charged me for labor in 2022 and he said it was illegal because they should have disclosed the info to me as the small company had. I spoke to Lindstrom and they are taking no responsibility for the non disclosure. The manager,Stella, was rude and arrogant and blamed Mechanical Air for not reminding me about the warranty.
