It's not a gigantic spot but they manage to pack a lot of items in a small-ish store with 2 levels (there are only a few steps separating these levels). They've got Harry Potter themed candy along with some other brand of disgusting flavored jelly beans (you know...like vomit and booger). I also spied some fun lunch boxes and cool mugs. Oh...and remember those ice box individually wrapped chocolates?? I had to buy one and eat it right away. Holy crap...those are sweeeeet. Guess I'm getting old....almost too sweet for me. The store clerk was friendly and welcoming as she greeted me and every customer in the store, offering assistance and information on the vast array of items. There were toys (mostly nostalgic toys and also unique games that you wouldn't find at a brand named chain store), items that were locally hand crafted, candies, tea, candles, books, kitchen knick knacks ....and the list goes on. The prices were average/the same you would see in a similar store, but this country store probably has the most varied items I've seen in one place. It's definitely a "must see" especially if you're looking for a gift or souvenir.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Krause's Homemade Candy for many years. We've bought…read morechocolates for ourselves, holidays, and gifts, and visiting Krause's has always been a tradition whenever I returned to New York after living in Florida. In fact, it was the very first stop my husband and I made because I couldn't wait to enjoy my favorite chocolates again. Unfortunately, this visit was incredibly disappointing. The first thing I noticed was the new logo and packaging. While I know businesses evolve, the new design loses the classic, elegant feel that made Krause's so special and instead looks much more generic. More importantly, the chocolates themselves are not the same. Many of the pieces are noticeably smaller than they used to be, and the chocolate tastes different. Several pieces even had bloom, which affected both their appearance and texture. I purchased a variety of chocolates, including individual pieces from the display case, chocolate bars, and peppermint patties, and every product seemed to reflect a decline in quality. To make matters worse, many of my longtime favorite pieces were no longer available. I've happily recommended Krause's for years because it consistently offered some of the best homemade chocolates in the Capital Region. This time, however, I left feeling disappointed and honestly saddened. I truly hope the owners will consider returning to the quality, recipes, and traditions that built Krause's outstanding reputation, because many longtime customers remember how exceptional their chocolates used to be.

I purchased an even (must be even and not including the #4 according to Chinese tradition) number of the coins and had the friendly Sweetie's employee wrap them up for me. Red is a lucky color for people who are Chinese. Especially with gold. I purchased 2 small boxes of the gold coins in boxes for under $20! Sweetie's is a fun sweet store to shop in. There is something for everyone, even if they don't eat candy. There are cards, mugs and other fun items. Highly recommend!

I myself being a coffee drinker am partial to the coffee bean dipped in dark chocolate. Between the chocolate and caffeine, it keeps me going during the day. Store is located next door to a jewelry store. Don't bother buying candy off the shelves at a grocery store or big box stores. Who knows how old they are. Try it, you'll love it!

Entering the shop you are welcomed with a waif of irresistible smells of high quality chocolate that is being freshly made in the kitchen area that you can observe being molded and boxed. They always have a friendly and patient staff who will gladly follow you add you point and make choices from the seemingly endless variety of creative confections. Their chocolates are made right here on site…read more Every morning, the solid chocolate is melted 100 pounds at a time in an antique copper kettle, tempered, and prepped to become a dizzying assortment of chocolates. Think  handmade creams, truffles, mints, cordials, butter-crunch, caramels, nut clusters, turtles, chocolate covered orange peel, ginger, apricots and pretzels. Want more? How about fudge, white chocolate, barks, clusters, pops, and sugar free chocolates. We paid $38.22 for a bagful of goodies - 2 boxes of hand picked chocolates (sugar free and high test), a piece of bark, a chocolate bar, and two turkey shaped chocolate pops for the grand kiddos. A small gift bag of nonpareils was  tossed in gratis. The store is quite large, so walking around and checking out the goods is quite a fun experience. The only disappointment we had was that their chocolate apple season just ended the week before.

I pass by it everyday going through the rotary, but for years could never figure out how to get there. One day, after years on wondering, I asked my wife how to get there, and she told me the entrance is behind that gas station on Pleasant Street. Well today, I did it, I successfully found my way inside In search of sugar free chocolates for my crazed diabetic mother-in-law. It's a decent size shop, with some nice displays, and a variety of different candies, but it seems everyone is there for the chocolates. Service was very nice, and willing to accommodate my special request of a custom sugar free gift set. They took the extra time and effort to decorate the two gift sets I bought in Valentines Day red ribbon. It's strictly candy, and much more of a variety of chocolates than Pete's Sweets down the street. P.S. To the old man(must of been Maureen's father)who was blatantly watching me as soon as I walked in. Chill out dude, I didn't rob them or steal anything, but did give them a $50 sale, and a four star Yelp review. Stopped in a second time and the place was in disarray. The carpet was dirty, and needed to be vacuumed. The chocolate cases were all messed up and low on supply. Maureen wasn't in the greatest mood. My wife was less than impressed with the state of the place, selection, and especially the prices.
