We stopped in here for breakfast after spending the night in Keene, NH. I ordered a custom omelette: Pepperjack cheese, Chorizo, onions, bell peppers, spinach, and mushrooms - with a side of bacon, coffee, and water. Omelette was rather average, not bad. And it was filling. I asked for hot sauce - they have squeeze bottles on the table filled with what I think is Frank's hot sauce. Would have been nice to have an option for a much hotter hot sauce! Bacon was tasty! Coffee was rather meh. Service was good. Your traditional old school diner. The booths still have those small individual jukeboxes - I asked our server Sam if they still worked. She replied that some did, some did not. Be aware - cash only! No credit cards! I'd eat here again when staying in Keene. read more

So please allow me to begin by saying this place has SO much charm - Our waitress was a sweet younger girl with long dark hair. I didn't catch her name, but props to her for doing a great job! They have cute juke boxes on every table (that actually play). They have a very extensive menu with some AWESOME options! Their mural on the side of the restaurant is GREAT for insta photo opps! However, they don't accept ANY cards! After our meal I have to go ACROSS THE STREET to use the yogurt shop's ATM. That's the main reason I won't be back. Also, the two older ladies (one with a bandana and the other with some variation of blonde hair) had awful attitudes. Any time I walked up to the counter they finished their conversation then half heartedly addressed my inquiry. My two pieces of advice: get a square and lose the boomers. My sister moved to Keene, NH from Newport, NH and I came up to visit. We checked out Lindy's Diner and sure happy we did! It has that old diner ambience and friendly service! The breakfast menu is large and the prices are VERY reasonable! Where else can you get two eggs, meat, potatoes, toast for $7.00! Seriously. And I'm quite serious that we both enjoyed our meal! Sis had pancakes and eggs, their own bread toast their home fries and bacon. Everything was perfect. I had two over easy, the hash fries, link sausage and toast. Our server, "Sam" was a gem! So I run to the store that's a minute away and come back before 15 minutes and said oh we already called you, okay fine, I put my name in the second time told me I would have the first booth available, it's been a little over 20 minutes so we go in and check and some fat lady says oh we called you twice when I was WAITING outside and told some blonde chick exactly where I would be. Stopped in for brunch on Sunday. Well worth it. Small location big food. They were running shorthanded thanks to Covid laziness that's hit some workers. I got the Lindy's Hungry. For yrs we have been going to Lindy's w. coupons from AARP Rewards and Verizon Rewards. The new owner would not honor it. She sent a message via the waitress that the old owner should not have signed up for it knowing she was selling. Putting the waitress in an uncomfortable position. Regardless she should have made the effort to come out of the kitchen to discuss it with us. We also think the food and prices are different which is expected with new owners (but not for the better). Poor customer service from the owner. Very nice establishment. The building for the diner looked very nice, although we sat outside under the tarp that was set up due to Covid-19. They were definitely understaffed, but that did not keep the service from being performed at a timely manner. The food came out shortly after it was placed, and it was delicious, exactly what we wanted, diner food . The price is also very reasonable, and the quantity of the food was sufficient. I found this on the map while planning a vacation trip. It was just about the right distance into our drive and sounded like fun. Despite some mixed reviews, we decided to check it out for ourselves. It is a beautiful vintage diner with good parking and beautiful gardens outside. There is some outdoor seating that looked promising, but was not yet open, since it was breakfast time. The tables were full, so we had a short wait. There was really no area designated for waiting, so we huddled inside the front door, trying not to infringe on the first booth's space or the waitress stand. It gave us a chance to soak in the nostalgia. However, the place is badly in need of some TLC. The floors beneath the counter were particularly nasty, cracked with age and the dirt had managed to become a part of it. I have eaten in cleaner establishments, let's just say. as the line behind us grew, the staff kept asking that people close the door, as the AC was on. But there was no solution, since there was nowhere to stand. As that first booth was vacated, someone came in from the other door and immediately secured it, by sitting down before being noticed, as it had not yet been cleared. His party soon joined him, right under our noses, so we felt less inclined not to lean against the booth a bit and make out presence felt. (Sometimes, it's the little things). A young waitress noticed and came over to assure me that another table would soon become available, which it did, and we were seated. Our waitress arrived, pad in hand and asked what we wanted. I politely suggested "a menu - and, I'd love some coffee." Both were delivered swiftly. I ordered an omelette with cheese, mushrooms and bacon, and rye toast. My grandson ordered chocolate chip pancakes and a double side of bacon. The food arrived quickly, minus my toast. I had observed a designated toast maker behind the counter and she personally delivered first one, and later a second, slice. It was worth the wait, being a very good seeded rye. My meal was tasty. My grandson's pancakes were huge and reportedly delicious. He was not crazy about the bacon, but managed to eat some of it. The pancakes did not come with syrup and there was none on the table. The waitress was nowhere in sight. My coffee cup stood empty. Still no waitress. Finally, she came over and asked if I had my "ticket." Assuming she meant the check, I said no. (Apparently, she also assumed we were finished, as there was no offer of more coffee or anything else). She then scurried about, checking her pockets, until she came up with the check and dropped it on the table. Not willing to wait an indeterminable amount of time for her return, we went to the counter and paid ourselves, taking the toast lady from her duties. Don't recommend eating here anymore and here's why: The menu was revamped which is generally a good thing, but they ripped out about 90% of the menu. I told this to the waitress and we changed out minds on eating here and she became very standoffish and said "well everyone else here seems to really like it." Then when she checking on the customers behind she keeps mentioning how "everyone really likes the new changes here." Then when we decided not to purchase any of the food and just leave for another diner, as I was paying for the coffees, I explained that it was specifically the menu change I'm disappointed in and once again the waitress just got really loud saying "everyone else really likes it and I didn't even give the food a chance." I was trying to be polite and discreet about it. I wasn't even worried about the taste, I was worried about the options! I told her for almost 22 years now I have been coming here and getting the Irish Benedict and she said that it was still on the menu and points to the omelet section and says I can modify it. Really? I don't want to modify an omelet, I want a menu that has all options clearly labeled. And besides where would the hollandaise sauce come from? Just going to whip some up real quick? Mr. Timoleon who founded Lindy's and his kids who ran if for years deserve better. On the plus side the cleaning and paint jobs look great. But those changes are common sense and not a reason to keep eating here. read more

First, some business. They do now take credit cards (Visa, MC, Discover) but only on $10 or greater. They also have a TV. So yeah, it's an old prefab diner. So what. The hollandaise sauce on the benny was terrific. The home fries, while homemade, were not as crispy as I prefer and just a little dry. Sausage benedict and a small glass of OJ, and you're done for about $10. That's hard to beat these days. Check them out, they're not going anywhere. read more

Sat down at outside dining area on sunny morning with my pup laying beside my chair only to have an unfriendly woman holler from the door to leave because of the dog and how insurance does not allow. Here on Labor Day so very busy and a bit disorganized (Sat party of 2 who came in behind us before us (2) accidentally.) Wait for table and wait for food but it was well worth it. Homemade hash and eggs cooked (to request) perfectly. Chicken fried steak, biscuits, and gravy were all homemade, fresh, and delicious. Home fries are battered and fried; served toasty and hot. I was in town on some business yesterday and ate breakfast at Lindy's diner. I ordered 2 eggs with some well done homefries. First the homefries were deep fried. I know this is a personal taste thing but to me a home fry is cooked on a grill not a deep fryer. But the eggs came out cold. When I told them the eggs were cold I got a nasty look and when they came back out with new eggs the lady from the kitchen gave me a snide comment saying you better eat faster and this is ridiculous. I think what is ridiculous is the rude attitude especially when it was your fault I didn't make the eggs and they were cold the second they came out. It wasn't like they sat there a while. We came as the restrictions of COVID were starting to loosen so we weren't able to sit inside, but they had a very cute and shaded outside patio area with between 6-8 tables. They have a good menu with a mix of everything you could want. Their homemade hash is delicious. My eggs were cooked perfectly and I'm picky about my eggs! Oct,4 Change off rating.... I gave them 4 star before I notice they added an extra 1$ to my tab. Its came out to 38 and change. I rounded it off to 40. On my account it says they charges me 41$. I am usually a good tipper but will not do so if service is off. I will never eat there again and I suggest you check you bank statements after dinning there. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have been there twice under the new management. Staff is friendly and service was ok. Went there today and was not impressed with my Waitress. She was nice just forgot things and did not prepared the food as asked and had to ask again for Condiments. My waffle was damn near perfect - light, a bit of a crispy edge, with fruit filling. The sausage gravy should be bottled and sold separately. A little pricey but worth it. We got there just in time on a Sunday morning - around 11:00 am. As soon as we were seated the line started to appear at the entrance. They are serving outside and in the restaurant. Ate dinner here at a time when it was not busy which may have contributed to better service and a nonexistent wait time. Walked in the door and allowed to choose our seat. Waitress showed up with menus and an order pad almost immediately and took our drink order. Our coffee and hot tea were brought quickly and since we had never been here, were given a few extra minutes to look over the menu. Had a couple questions on the fish and chips due to my wife's food sensitivity issues which the waitress quickly asked the chef and got us an answer for. Went with the fish and chips for my wife, grilled Reuben for me. The fish was about as good as it gets - fresh fish, light and tasty batter, deep fried without being a greasy mess, what tasted like a homemade tartar sauce, and pretty good french fries. Limited seasoning which is what we prefer so that we can add what we want. Was given the option to replace the sides, but stuck with the standard fries and coleslaw and happy we did since they were both fine for my wife. Reuben was good, nicely grilled on rye without an overload of thousand island like some restaurants do. Nice thick cut on the slices of meat, tasty sauerkraut, and there but not overpowering Swiss cheese. The homemade potato chips made me want to try to replicate at home. Again, nicely fried without being greasy - almost melt in your mouth. Did not know about the "no cards" because our total check was far less than expected so I had just decided to pay cash because it was faster and easier. Not a small child friendly atmosphere. A waitress actually told me, and other patrons they don't like children. And they mean it. Zero patience for children. Due to that statement, I refuse to go there. My family and close friends have also stopped going. Their food isn't that great, I've had to ask them to heat my food several times.. I can go on..
