Lobster Croissant with fries. Yum. A special.
    Katherine A.

I had the best lobster croissant at this adorable and historic diner in downtown Keene! The diner is a Paramount constructed diney made in New Jersey in 1961 and moved to Keene. Three couples have owned the diner since 1961. We tried on a whim. From the outside, the diner has shiny steel sides, like you'd expect. The sign is vintage above the diner. Inside are booths and counter seating. The place was packed when we arrived, but the hostess found a booth for two quickly. The menu offers breakfast or lunch options. There is a daily menu with specials, as well. I selected a lobster croissant with fries off the special menu. Food came out fairly quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. Water glasses were kept full. My lobster croissant sandwich was packed with big chunks of lobster claw meat. Other than a slice of lettuce, there were no seasoning, so the lobster was the star. The sandwich was excellent! The croissant was fresh and soft. The shoestring fries were crispy and hot. The lunch was excellent and at $18, a bargain. My cousin had a Monte Cristo which is a ham and cheese on French toast. The thin sliced ham was packed thick on the sandwich. She said her sandwich was delicious. There is a covered patio outside, but it wasn't opened during our visit. There is free parking on the side and in front of the diner. There is a step up into the diner, so I'm not sure that there is wheelchair accessibility. Lindy's is adorable, historic and has great food. Well worth a visit.

I don't know about you, but if I go to a diner I am going there for the diner experience. I'm not expecting gourmet dining, elegant surroundings, or finely dressed servers. I'm expecting good food, cleanliness and comfortable seating, and efficient service: And that's exactly what you'll find a Lindy's Diner. The eating highlight for us when we popped in for breakfast was my partner's omelette. What made it stand out was the thinness of the outer egg. It was more like a crepe, than a pancake (if you know what I mean). That's the way we like an omelette, and how we make them at home. I had the half portion of the "Souther Benny" -- sausage gravy and a biscuit instead of English muffin & hollandaise. Either they mistakenly gave me the full portion, or the full portion is gigantic. Interestingly, the home fries look super boring. Little square potatoes that look like they have doing on them but paprika. Don't be deceived. Try them. They are deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked. It was good but if I and known how they prepare their omelettes I would have gone that route. One final note: Out sever was awesome. I wish we wrote down her name so I could use it here. She was super busy, rushing around in a whirlwind, but had had a broad smile every time she stopped by our table and was super helpful and friendly the whole visit. A very solid classic diner choice for breakfast in Keene if you ask me.

Highly recommend Lindy's for great food and service. I know many like to wait for a booth but counter service is great as well. Since the service is so good sitting at the counter adds to the expierence speaking with the waitress and wait staff.

Amazing service and amazing food. Metered parking about $1.50 for one hour. Homemade breads. Indoor and outdoor seating. Takes credit cards.

Sure floated my boat. Had a build your own scramble: eggs, shredded potatoes, ham, bacon, pepper jack, jalapeños. It was super.

I walked in with two people, three more friends were on their way to join us, but, given the lack of food options, we all decided to leave B&B early and reconvene at another local place that had both beer and food we all could eat. In addition to not having anything vegan to eat (not even potato chips!),we were not allowed to order food to be delivered. Although this was communicated politely, it's actually a very rude thing to impose on customers. So, on one hand, if vegans aren't this businesses main focus, its totally understandable not to go through great lengths to cater to us- But, it is an extremely poor business practice to both not serve vegan food and not allow customers to order their own food. Given the number of areas businesses that value vegan customers, it shouldn't be too hard to replace B&B in our rotation.

My partner had the short rib ravioli which was also excellent. We are whiskey/bourbon drinkers and the one thing that whiskey/burboun drinkers like in their old fashioned type drinks are single, large ice rocks and not the little broken ice chips that easily dilutes your drink. These are so easy to make yourself. Just buy an ice tray that makes them. The other thing whiskey/bourbon drinkers like in their drinks are the bourbon cherries and not just the plain maraschino cherries. Just two easy recommendations to elavate the experience. The staff was also very friendly.

The spot is located in a humble building downtown - a good size but not huge. Pretty ideal for the type of service they offer (order at the counter & they bring the food to your table). The service was great and the place was well kept & clean. The food was outstanding. I got the chipotle chicken panini; fresh ingredients and a great sized sandwich. Their Belgian fries are seriously out of this world, not to mention their amazing dipping sauces to go with them (I myself had maple mayo and curry ketchup, both awesome)!! Their prices are also very reasonable. With everything raising in price lately, it's not uncommon to be spending a ton even on a quick lunch nowadays. This place keeps the cost reasonable for the times while still providing good portions and quality ingredients. They are also extremely "gluten free friendly" for anyone curious. I plan to drive back up to Keene in the very near future, based around having Fritz again!!

We were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. Ambiance: It's a smaller, fairly echoey restaurant, but it's a pizza joint... it's kind of to be expected. After a few, our waitress came and I ordered waters. For some reason our table was missing the drink menu... all others had one. It took a few minutes for our waitress to find one for us. I ordered the Galaxy Lemonade, Jennie chose the Bahama Mama. We were both very disappointed in our drinks. Minute clearly had the Blue Curaçao in it, but there wasn't even the tiniest hint of the Empress Gin... a gin with a very distinctive flavor. It was so lacking that I actually asked our waitress if it was forgotten. I think the drink should've been great, but the curaçao was overpowering the gin. There was 1oz of each liquor. I think 3/4oz BC and 1.25oz Empress might've made it better. While Jennie prefers sweeter drinks, the BM was VERY sweet-forward, lacking flavor from either rum. We are all about the "well-balanced beverage"... neither of these were. Our appetizer (5 Buffalo wings) & pizza arrived at the same time. I thought the wings were great. The heat/flavor ratio was damn-near perfect. Jennie felt they had a bit too much heat... I disagree :) Our thin-crust pizza was also great. Toppings: garlic, tomato, banana peppers, & pepperoni. I feel there should've been much more garlic on it, as it was ordered as a topping, but overall, the crust had a perfect crispness all the way under, so it could be picked up by the edge. We both enjoyed it! The food is worth picking up, but if I'm going to sit in a restaurant for food and drink, I'd like to enjoy the drink. For that reason, we probably won't be back.
