The bagel was soft yet crispy on the outside and the combination of flavors from the red onion, capers, cream cheese and tomato was just right. The space is roomy enough with several tables to dine-in and it is also kept clean, which is optimal. Look forward to visiting again to try a different menu item, perhaps during lunch.

Walked in, saw that menu says $4.00 for an Egg with Ham Sandwich. Asked, "Can I please have ham and egg on a...do you have whole wheat wraps?" Worker said "yes" and I said, "OK I'll have that." Upon being rung up, I was charged $5.50 plus tax. I asked why I wasn't charged $4.00 and the worker says because "I threw an extra egg in and that's another dollar." I say, "OK, and there's an extra charge for a wrap, too?" He says, "Yes" and that's where I assume the extra 0.50 came in. It would have been nice to have been informed of the extra charges in advance considering I didn't ask for the extra egg, nowhere else charges extra for a wrap, and neither charge is listed on the menu. Who knows how much ketchup would have been? I kept my mouth shut and walked out hoping for a good sandwich. Unfortunately, the oil they used on the grill tastes terrible and the wrap tasted like play dough. Shady practices, mediocre food and seemingly high prices elsewhere on the menu will make the visit described above my first and last. I didn't have a bagel, but having worked in a quality shop as a kid and eaten many since, I know what good bagels look like and theirs don't seem up to par. I am standing here for 35 min literally waiting for 1 bagel! Do not come here if you are in a rush. Service is slow as hell. You will wait in an incredibly long slow moving line. The lone counter man, who will shamelessly flirt with every girl that comes up to order, will lengthen the wait. When you do get to say counter man, expect him to walk away from you, mid order, to flirt with someone else. He'll return, and you'll have to start your order again from scratch. Then you will wait for your food, expect to wait anywhere from 30-45 minutes before your food graces you with its presence. Said food will be missing several key attributes, or improperly cooked, or, not at all what you ordered. When you attempt to bring the poor quality of your order to the staff they will either be flippant about it, or take even longer to fix the problem. I once had a bagel take half an hour to reach me, and when it did, the bagel was not toasted. I've waited for ages and have the food come out ice cold, meaning it was sitting around somewhere. The problem seems to be the staff, they are more interested in talking to each other, having fun, flirting and being cool than serving their customers. I don't think I'll be back to this place. read more

Horrible wait staff. I went twice to give them a fair shake, but left with the same impression both times. The staff is unprofessional, under-trained, and probably underpaid. To be brutally honest, the first time I went I wondered if the owners simply picked up laborers at the nearest Home Depot and put them to work. Based on the Yelp photos and reviews, I treated myself to breakfast a few weeks ago. I ordered crepes, eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee. The meal was forgettable except for the coffee simmered in cinnamon and brown sugar. But, the service was begrudging at best. I took my husband the second time around, and he quickly bristled at the poor service, too. Mind you, the place was nearly empty. We ordered a coffee and dessert, which they didn't seem to appreciate because we didn't order a full dinner. We got the coffee with spoiled cream and unremarkable desserts. DISGUSTING!!! DO NOT GET THE BAGEL OMLETS. I ordered an omelet and the kid behind the counter couldn't read the menu and put all the wrong ingredients on there. He over microwaved the eggs and all together I couldn't take more than one bight. I threw the whole thing away. Very average coffee as well. I have been to the here twice this week and all I can say is never again. I bought bagels at 7:00 AM and when I brought them to the office, they were COLD. I don't mean, "Not hot from the oven" cold. I mean COLD like they had been there since yesterday they were also hard. The service is terrible. The first time I went, there were no knives for bagels and cream cheese to go. I am so used to bagel shops automatically slicing the bagels as a service, I forgot to ask and the place doesn't look quite clean or picked up. Go anywhere else. This place deserves no star, unfortnuately I could not make that happen. First of all, their phone person has no patiences what so ever. I understand it gets busy but because they rush so fast they made a mistake on my order. I called them and they told me it was going to be another hour before they can redeliver. Again, the person was rude over the phone. The experience would of been fine if they just took the time to be friendly and just listen before just automatically taking my order assuming I want certain my items made a certain way. I have been ordering from this place for years and it's usually tolerable, but this time I had to write a review because it just doesn't make sense for someone to be so rude on the phone when we are trying to order from your company. This place is horrible, waited more then 20 minutes for two bagels with cream cheese, had to ask me 3 times what I wanted. Bagel was horrible, wasn't even toasted, and I wasn't the only one with a messed up order. They used the same cutting board and knife for everything. Bagel tasted like a sausage patty I guess they don't clean their knives. To top it all off the guy couldn't even wrap up the bagels properly. After 5 piece of wax paper and foil, still didn't get it done... Worst place ever!!!!! read more

Most disappointing dining experience I've had in NY. Good food but not as good as it used to be. Has gotten overpriced. Was there recently and now they've started charging for rice! The bagel wasn't fresh. When I see the bagels covered in plastic I know they were not made that day. It was dry and had no taste at all. It was about 10:00 AM, so they should have been fresh. But we're all thankful it's not a nickname rooted in any other kind of incident. What I know about the Bagel Pub is that it's a bright and nicely laid out shop with a solid staff, and when I need a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel, they're there for me. I personally feel as though it's borderline too cheesey, but that's not really a legitimate complaint. They aren't my favorite bagels ever (that is a legit complaint), but they are very solid, and they get the job done. It's also a little too pricey for me; I think it was $40+ for three BECs last time, including tax and tip, and that feels a little steep for breakfast sandwiches. Then again, the world is too expensive these days, and they're just keeping up.
