He is personable and really does a great job at making the residents feel seen and known. It's always a great night when you see Dennis working the front desk! This was such a fun stay! Last Thanksgiving we were cramped and kind of far from the two sides of the family we needed to see while in town. This is centrally located allowing us to visit attractions and family easily. It had plenty of room for privacy from teen kids and them from us. Full kitchen, two bathrooms, washer and dryer, plus game room and pool on the top floor. Great views. The front desk was super helpful and kind. Clean! Beautiful! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! There a multiple TERRIBLE occurrences that have happened here. I was PHYSICALLY ASSULTED by my neighbor and the management company Common and Leasing Office has done nothing to address this. I did file a police report but what is the building doing to ensure safety and security? Absolutely nothing. Which brings me to my next point this building used to be managed by Lincoln property which was great and has now been taken over by Common. Common is "coliving" so like hostiles but for apartments. I imagine anyone that ever lives with a suitemate will have NO security or support from the Common/management. It took a month and a half for them to add my boyfriend on the lease. There was MULTIPLE emails, phone calls, leasing office visits. At certain point the phone number on the actual Common website was out of service. You can NEVER get a hold of anyone. The app/website is outdated and crashes. After a whole month of going back and forth with leasing my boyfriend moved in because he was out of his lease. It took two weeks after that for them to finally add him and get him a key. I had to go to the leasing office multiple times to make sure someone was doing something to resolve my issue. It's a huge inconvenience calling each other to go down and open the garage door day or night because we had to share one key. Especially because I get off of work at 5am. Nobody ever seems like the know what they are doing. Only two people at the front desk are helpful. Everyone in concierge could careless about their job. And most of the time will give you a run around and a different story. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT live here! I cannot wait until my lease is up. read more

Our first year was great with Linea (as it was with Lincoln management prior to being taken over by Common). It was a positive experience - the apartment complex was being maintained well, with good security (during the riots) as well as great sanitary practices (during covid). Staff was great, as you can always get an actual person to talk to and help you (even sometimes informally). It all went downhill when Common took over (and it was actually surprising as to how it was so drastically). You suddenly cannot talk to any staff - everything is via tickets and emails, and you sometimes have to set an appointment weeks in advance ( I hope this changed now). What the most frustrating part was when they had an issue with their billing system during transition - I told them about it personally, made sure I can pay on time - when their system came up online, they started aggressively collect on me (which I already paid, and had to justify I paid ontime). That was a red flag - so we started looking to relocate. We properly notified them months in advance that we're relocating (and we're willing to pay premium month-to-month, so we don't extend another 13 months in this now subpar apartment), then moved away never looking back. Now almost a year after moving out, Common is now "collecting", and saying I have some past due amount (i moved a year ago now). ??? Was never late, even paid premium, and now they're collecting this measly amount for what?. Well, all of this is just a warning to those who intend to stay here. Security here is stellar! Frances, Veronica, Briana, and her team are super nice and go out of their way to help. Same with maintenance, Amel is a legend. Got a minor issue fixed with the hot tub in like a week, which is impossible. Leasing office needs a lot of work. I've lived at linea for about 6 months now, and I can tell you that we regret choosing linea. We came from another Lincoln property in Kansas. Grab some popcorn because this is going to be long. I want to first start out with a positive. The front desk staff are great. We especially LOVE Tonette. She has been nothing but amazing since we have moved in. She is extremely helpful and always kind. Denzil is also extremely helpful and always kind. Okay, let's talk the negatives. Even though we pay for electric, it is a 2 pipe system which means that we don't have full control over our air and heating. By the way, this is not in the lease. For example, they switched over to the heat at the end of October(ish) when it got chilly one day. The week after that it got warm again. This made it extremely uncomfortable in the apartment. We didn't find out that it was a 2 pipe system until after this. My husband and I thought our air was broke or something. The maintenance staff then came up and told us to "open a window" if we were hot. There are 2 windows that open, and they do not open very far. Which leads me into my next complaint.. The train is right under linea. It is EXTREMELY loud. (And we live on the 26th floor) Since we have been uncomfortable without AC we have had to keep the window open on a lot of days and my husband and I have to basically yell at each other if we want to talk. If you are sensitive to sounds I highly recommend looking somewhere else. Next, the elevators are extremely slow. There have been times when my husband and I have waited 15-20 minutes for an elevator. If someone is moving in or out the wait is much worse. The comments about people not wearing masks are accurate. There have been multiple times that staff and residents aren't wearing masks. If the staff aren't wearing masks, do you really think they're going to enforce residents wearing masks? The parking garage entrance is located in an alley. There are constantly moving trucks & cars blocking the entrances. On top of that, my husband and I pay $600 for 2 parking spots and there have been 3 times where someone was parked in one of our spots. There are never any resident events going on. I know multiple people in other Lincoln properties in Chicago and they do weekly Covid safe events. (Coffee carts, virtual trivia, virtual pizza night, etc) I think there has been maybe 2 since I've lived here. Lastly, and the biggest reason you should never move here is the fact that the owner and leasing staff do not care what situation you are in.. they want their money. This month our sweet beagle (my ESA) was diagnosed with a disease and we had to pay thousands of dollars to try to get him better. Unfortunately, he passed away. I emailed Quentin 3 different times and my husband called the office and we did not get a response for a WEEK. Finally when my husband was able to get ahold of Corey, he told us that "he saw the email, but didn't know how to respond." He then told us we had to wait till Quentin could get ahold of us. When we finally talked with Quentin he was extremely inconsiderate on the phone. We asked if we could do a payment plan, and he stated that the owner wants their money. He said if we didn't pay rent by the 28th (2 weeks later) then we would have a 10-day eviction letter. We are people that are NEVER late on our rent, but due to the pandemic and my dog being sick, we were struggling financially this month. Quentin, Corey and the leasing staff were very inconsiderate and made things 10x harder on us. If you choose to live at Linea, you better hope that an emergency doesn't happen or Linea will NOT work with you. They will refuse to do a payment plan or work with you and they will threaten you with an eviction letter. Please please please do not move here. We are people who LOVED living in a previous Lincoln apartment complex, but this place has been a nightmare. read more

If you are looking for a safe and secure building to live in then Linea is NOT the place for you. The majority of our security system has not been working in the building for weeks now. There is a door leading back to the elevators that is supposed to be closed and locked at all times, and only accessible with a resident key FOB. This door has been open for quite some time because Common hasn't sent someone out to fix it, so essentially anyone who confidently walks into our lobby can get to the resident elevators. Additionally, the key FOB scanners in all 3 elevators do not work- meaning that anyone can get up to the resident floors. Seriously?? With all of the crime going on in the city recently, and with residents paying over $3k per month to live here, I would expect that someone would be sent out immediately to resolve the issue. Yes, there is a 24/7 front desk attendant, but it is not fair for them to have an unreliable security system for a high-rise apartment building. The front desk staff seems to be the only people who know what they are doing. They are always so kind and helpful to residents & I would give them 5 stars if I could. read more

My opinion on Linea is mixed. Pros: 1. The building is very nice with nice spacious floor plans. 2. The staff is very helpful. Cons: 1. The train noise is horrible. It does not stop at anytime of the day or night. 2. While the location is good, the moment you step outside, the train noise is so loud that you can't talk or enjoy walking outside. I signed my lease before moving to Chicago and did not know that 2 of the main train crossing streets in chicago are basically adjacent to Linea. I have lived here for about 6 months now and am very pleased with the apartment community here at LINEA. The maintenance staff is attentive and the amenities are some of the best in the area. While the train noise mentioned in other reviews is certainly prevalent, it is to be expected when living in this part of the loop. Overall a great community and a good management company. I moved out of Linea recently. I DO NOT recommend this building. The location and maintenance staff are the only redeeming qualities. Concierge staff is hit or miss. The BAD: 1. Majority of residents are very young month to month renters. It often felt like I was living back in my college dorm. 2. There is no community feel whatsoever. It feels like you live in a hotel. This apartment building is pretty awful. Find another place to live. First of all, no one masked up during Covid and despite numerous complaints (one from my very pregnant neighbor who was terrified of catching Covid) -- the building really didn't enforce masking. The building residents are younger and still crowded elevators and didn't mask. It is also SUPER HOT and the building just won't turn on the air conditioning on. My poor pregnant neighbor is suffering heat strokes essentially-- I went to her apartment and it is so hot it is inhabitable. Terrible building. No regard for basic comfort and health of residents and they could care less. read more

I signed an 18 month lease at the Linea before moving to Chicago and have now been in the building for 3 weeks. Below are my thoughts: Pros: 1) Convenient location if you work downtown or want to be close to River North 2) Beautiful building with great finishes and amenities 3) Excellent concierge and maintenance staff - they really go out of their way to make you comfortable Cons: 1) The train noise is horrendous, from any floor height I realize that 3 great Pros with 1 Con seems like an overwhelming 'yes' to this building, but the magnitude of the Con should not be underestimated. Given that I signed prior to moving to Chicago, I was unable to experience the train noise first hand, but did express that I was noise sensitive and needed a quiet apartment. It is therefore unfortunate that the frequency (can be multiple trains per minute) and intensity of the noise was not disclosed, as this is a key element in ensuring that any tenant is able to make an informed decision on their rental. Furthermore, when selecting an 18 month lease over a 12 month one (to obtain a better discount) there was no caution of 'see how you handle the train noise given your concerns raised'. It is important for me to say however, that despite what I consider to be omissions of vital informed decision-making information, the rental agent was incredibly helpful and responsive during the lease signing. I can also fully appreciate the challenge of renting units next to a major train line, but feel strongly that for potential tenants who cannot view the place first hand, full and clear disclosure on the extent of the train noise should be made. Disappointingly, my request after less than one week of occupation to change my 18 month lease to 12 months based on the omission of this critical information and the impact it is having on my occupation was turned down. Some flexibility here should be expected given how early in the lease we are, and the omissions discussed above. In closing, a great building with great staff, but I would strongly discourage anyone from signing a lease here without seeing the place first hand. Update: Following from the above, I was subsequently granted permission to shorted my lease to 14 months (which I have done), and I have moved from my 2 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom in order to be better positioned in the building from a sound perspective. While this unit is certainly not silent, it is significantly better than my previous unit and I am much happier here. It was good to see that I was accommodated in the end. read more

The building is new but everything in the apartment is cheap. The closet doors are flimsy and the blinds are poorly constructed and cheaply made. They do not block out the electric flashes from the trains which makes it feel like you're in a nightclub when you try to sleep. The train noise is tremendously loud. It's actually ridiculous that they didn't put in soundproof windows. If you open the window it's only slightly louder than with the windows closed. The gym is poorly maintained as the peletons don't work and tv controls are almost always broken so that you can't change the channel. The bikes and treadmills don't have tv screens so you can't watch or listen to anything. The amenities in the building aren't worth having as they are not properly maintained. The pool table cues are garbage and there isn't enough staff to maintain the building. I would strongly not recommend this building. The train noise is deafening and the amenities are not properly maintained. Given that the Linea claims to be a luxury building and charges a lot of money you are much better off getting a classic apartment with thick doors, real windows, real blinds, nice finishes and join a gym separately. Don't get fooled by the shine. It may look like gold but it's just yellow painted tin. Cheaply made and over priced. read more

LINEA is a great place to live. The staff has repeatedly gone above and beyond to be accommodating since I moved in, from painting my walls to installing a ceiling light. I love the proximity to the River North area and the easy access to the highway and Lake Shore Drive. The amenities in the building are excellent, and there's no shortage of activities to participate in with neighbors, including weekly fitness classes and monthly happy hours. We've been living at LINEA for two years (2019-21) and in general don't recommend it. There are good and bad things, and I'll try to summarize it all. I believe many of the issues are quite common, since we lived in two units here (+ used the guest suite). TLDR Bad: Extremely noisy area, unit's condition, Lake street is not sympathetic, high cost, management company. TLDR good: Great amenities, close to public transit, maintenance team and availability. Noise - Probably the biggest problem. There is noise from outside and from inside. The building is located on a CTA junction and so trains pass by the building all the time. The junction area makes extra noise, and with addition of the high rises that surround it, the sound amplifies. With 3 nearby stations the trains also slow down and sometimes stop so the noise lingers. Knowing that, we took a unit at the opposite corner to the junction, but W Couch Pl (the ally behind the building) is where the 5 buildings position their trash and the garbage trucks collecting it come at different hours (around 11 PM, 1 AM, 3 AM). The noise from the inside is because of tenants. The building location makes it more attractive for young people who love to throw parties (even during COVID). Although the walls are good for keeping noise from the neighboring units, the entrance door is not, and many parties leave their door open or go to the hallway to talk. The building does nothing besides ask them not to do it (and the party ppl don't give a shit). Public transportation - The cause for the biggest problem is also the biggest benefit in a way. Because of how the public systems works in Chicago (and in most of the US) buses and trains are designed to bring people in and out of the loop. There's also easy access to the airport with the blue line. Building area - The streets surrounding the building are not highly maintained (cracked sidewalk, sometimes no streetlight, snow is not cleared sometimes) and with the constant noise from the train it makes it very uncomfortable to walk there (especially at night). In addition, the area has a lot of homeless people that would harass us occasionally. I personally witnessed a homeless man stealing alcohol from the 7elevan next to the building, despite the cashier seeing him and protesting. Unit condition - The building is relatively new but has some flaws in the design and some places where the owners skimped. We have been dealing with multiple problems including smoking smell from our wall (!), including marijuana smell, odorous standing water under our shower tiles (recurring issue), water seeping through the wall during rain and snow  (and between our bedroom floorboards) creating a puddle. Moving into our second unit in the building, we got an unclean unit with dog hairs that we had to clean ourselves. Maintenance availability - to the building's credit they always have someone to look at and try to fix these problems quite fast (of course, you are paying for this service every month). Ernesto, specifically, is phenomenal! The cleaning staff are also great in keeping the common areas clean. Amenities - The building has some great amenities, unfortunately, many amenities were closed for months during 2020 (because of COVID) but the building didn't give the tenants any reimbursement for the lost value (which was not cool). Service - If any problem occurs it is best to talk with the head concierge, Sebastian - he is super professional and just awesome. The leasing office however is NOT (after the staff has changed multiple times). They are very inflexible and their policies are draconian. When we recently had an issue and needed assistance we spoke to Melissa, the new manager, who was ultimately unhelpful and did not go one step out of her way to help us, stating there was nothing she could do, where there clearly was. Price - Before moving here I was not aware of the many issues this building has and I thought the price was reasonable - it is not. I recommend that you shop around and find better places in the neighborhood. read more

Beautiful new building in a great location - steps to the Lake/Clark train, Riverwalk, River North, West Loop, and major downtown office buildings. Loft style interior with nice finishes and relatively quiet for being above the train. We have beautiful views of the river, and the floor to ceiling windows let in so much light even with the surrounding buildings. A private garage is a plus (extra if you use), and the 5th floor patio and dog run is a favorite for our two fur babies. The staff has been exceptional: - the leasing office was great in reviewing the different floor plans and spending time so we selected exactly what we wanted - Rafael and the rest of the concierge team is friendly and attentive - Sarge and his maintenance staff are quick to respond and resolve any issues or lend a hand Nothing is better than being the first to live in an apartment. We have been loving our new home and so happy we decided to move here. And Monk's next door is a great perk. Don't hesitate to come and look at this new building in the Loop and make it your new home in Chicago. read more

Very disappointed after living at LINEA , it is my worse situation got at USA in this place, I have issue with them and all staffs being together against me and so obviously they are hating me and hate to hear my issue and together agreeing and they asking me 1500 $ to pay after I moved out just because the blinds my child was playing with it but not broken any part of the blinds , after one year they want oven is to be new it is so normal to be used we are cooking by it , i even didn't broke or damage anything , they are asking me to pay for not even damages or broken , Please I need help right now they will never understand your circumstances as first time to come America . Train is very noisy and rent is extremely expensive and they are going to charge you for everything you use it at the end of the lease, inhuman and bad management. If you have any issue all staffs will never empathize with you , They will ask you a huge of money after you go out at the end of your lease, they asking me to pay for oven because get used after one year of staying isn't normal to not being look like new oven? , they also want me to pay for 1100$ for the blinds because my child 2 years old only was playing and squeezed it , Really inhuman and heartless people, take care of them I swear I am having bad feelings towards this kind of people, never being kind with you and never understand your situations . I moved into Linea in September, and have nothing but amazing things to say about my experience thus far. I live in a one bedroom with my boyfriend, and we LOVE the layout. Everything is brand new and modern. We also love the floor to ceiling windows, tall ceilings, large closets, in-unit washer, and amazing kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Aside from our apartment, the amenity space is top of the line. There is brand new equipment in the gym (including Peloton bikes), a heated pool, hot tub, office/study space, outdoor grills, a fire-pit... I could keep going! The location is also great... it is right next to all major train stops, which has been a major convenience. Lastly, the staff at Linea is beyond accommodating. Kyle, who leased us our apartment, was professional, responsive, and continues to check in on us even after moving in. The concierge and maintenance team are available at all hours to answer questions or help with anything that may come up. Overall this is an amazing place to live, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new updated place to live with amazing amenities! read more
