Not fried too hard but perfectly crispy. Would definitely order these again. I had the cesaer salad. Hell yes! The anchovies were big and gave it the right amount of saltiness. The roman was perfectly covered in dressing. I'll definitely order that again. Scraped the plate lol. For my main I ordered the 6oz filet (medium well), the lobster tail, and the lobster mac n cheese. Here's where things get a little sticky... The filet was immaculate. Cooked just as I asked, flavorful, and tender. You don't even need any sauce. It's good as is. I should have gotten some just to try and see if it would enhance my tastebuds even more. The lobster tail tasted like cleaning products. As if someone had wiped down the counter than sat my lobster tail on the same counter before cooking. I had to sent it back after the first bite. Couldn't risk it. The truffle lobster mac n cheese has no truffle and no cheese. It's soup based, meaning creamy but not cheesy. Can't be cheesy since there's 0 cheese in it. Just noodles and cream. The lobster meat is minced and minimal. You can't even tell it's in there. And the flavor was trash. Don't waste your money ordering that. Parking was in a parking garage. The weekend brunch scene can be hit or miss, I've been when it's poppin and the mimosas are flowing, and I've also been when we are the only ones there. Our first time at Link & Pin did not disappoint. Date night out was perfection. Started with delicious cocktails and the tuna sushi plate. Lots of flavors to pair with the tuna and salmon between the slaw and sauces. My favorite was the mini ahi tuna tacos - the waitress nailed it when she said the flavors were incredible with each bite. Then we both went for burgers. The House Burger and Backyard burger were both incredible. It's hard to find a place that will actually do a good rare burger these days that isn't over cooked, but they nailed it. Paired with truffle fries, it was the perfect combination. The ambiance was lovely as well. Beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly and attentive. So I've been to Link & Pin South End for brunch many times and always loved it. However, I'd never joined them for happy hour....until today. Well, better late than never because I've been missing out! Their $5 happy hour menu is SOLID. You heard me....$5!! if you leave here broke and hungry, baby, you did it wrong. The $5 menu (daily 4:00-6:00pm) includes hearty offerings such as Candied Jalapeño Bacon, Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Oysters, Hummus Trio, Mini Ahi Tuna Tacos, Truffle-Garlic Fries, and House Burger. The candied jalapeño bacon is just that--candy! Sweet, sticky, smokey, salty--it's the perfect little snack before diving into something more substantial. It comes vertically bundled inside a mason jar and is large enough to share if you're feeling generous. The breading on the oysters I could eat by itself. A squeeze of lime on the ahi tuna tacos really brought them to life. For all my international noshing, my favorite food on the planet is surprisingly simple--french fries. So, ordering the truffle garlic fries was going to happen. They arrived crispy and hot which I love because I like my hot food to be hawt (!) and can't stand a soggy fry. They were addictive. Truffle can be overpowering but there was just enough used to make the point and the garlic flavor was appreciable punchy. A sprinkle of parsley finished the dish and they were served with horseradish aioli. Although I still opted for some good ol' ketchup on the side, the aioli was deliciously pungent. Really nice accompaniment. *still drooling* Do NOT leave there without trying the Brussels sprouts. These ain't your grandmama's! They were perfectly cooked (so as to avoid their sulfuric nature) in a rich orange caramel glaze. The red onions provided a nice sharpness and toasted almonds gave an added crunch. Ordered them twice. Lol. The General Tso's cauliflower featured nice big chunks of vegetable and remained tangy & crispy even under the pile of slaw. Not to be left out, all day on Mondays and Thursdays (I went on a Thursday), there are $10 featured cocktail deals which include the Link & Pin Margarita & the Fireside Chat. Since I'm not altogether a margarita drinker, I tried the Fireside Chat. It contains a spirit, Rittenhouse Rye, and a herbal liqueur, Becherovka Czech Amaro, with which I wasn't terribly familiar but they worked so well with the rest of the ingredients--sugar maple smoke, a darker Amari, and mole bitters. Very balanced and smooth. A total bargain at just $10! As always, I appreciate the maze-like layout of this space. A convenient patio; a dining room with semi- sectioned off areas; and don't miss the chic lounge just past the bar and down the ramp toward the back--perfect place to wait on your table or enjoy an after-meal libation. Service was outstanding as well. The food came out almost as if it was choreographed, and we never waited too long for any requests we made. Really yummy food, good service, and very chill environment. Also there is a parking garage and they will validate your parking! So I really love the Grandad's Deviled Eggs, Candied Jalapeño Bacon, and and the Backyard Burger. The eggs had a delicious ratio of ingredients in the deviled egg part (it's perfectly yellow in color with some paprika on top - my fave), and the trout roe with candied bacon is so yummy. Just pop a whole egg in your mouth for a wonderful combination of flavors. The Backyard Burger was also really yummy. I did ask for it to be medium and it was more well done, so will probably just ask for medium rare next time. I also added more candied jalapeño bacon to my burger. It was really great. Plus it was a lot of burger, so I had enough for dinner later too. The burger is a bit juicy, so just watch the bottom bun of your burger so it doesn't get soggy and soaked. The fries were also really yummy - loved that they were fairly thin and crispy with yummy salt and pepper on them. I don't recommend ordering a mimosa by the glass here as the one I was handed was mostly orange juice and tasted flat (terrible orange juice to sparkling wine ratio) - though you can get a tray order and make it yourself, which is cool if a bunch of people are drinking mimosas. But our waiter was very kind and exchanged my mimosa for just a glass of prosecco, which was perfect. The prosecco was very lovely and bubbly, with a fair pour. And I did not get charged for the bad mimosa that I did not drink. Service is a little slow, but it's nice that they don't rush you out of there. Walked in and experienced a warm friendly greeting from Host, Manager and several waitresses. I was impressed and enjoyed the vibe in this beautiful chic restaurant. My waitress Tiana was 'above board'- perfect!! The appetizer was out in less than ten minutes and the hot mouth watering Entrees on our table in less than 20 minutes. The handsome manager is from Atlanta (Morehouse Graduate) so he knows the entertaining and great dining experience quite well. I felt I was back in the ATL the entire time! What a fantastic waitress we had this evening. Everything was explained very well and offered good options from the happy hour menu, as well as various cocktails. The manager came by and spoke with us to explain some of the intricacies within their mix Ology. They have some very unique drinks. We ended up ordering seven appetizers for our meal. Everything about this visit was a YES!!! Parking is available in the garage immediately next door. The restaurant validates up to 2 hours. Although it was brunch time on a beautiful Saturday, we were seated pretty quickly. They offer a mix of tables, booths, and patio seating. Great for intimate meals or large group events. We started with the General Tao Cauliflower bowl. FYI, it has rice under the cauliflower. It was delicious. Perfect for sharing or eating as an actual entree. Next we shared the Chicken & Waffles entree as well as the Shrimp & Grits. You can't go wrong with either. The Chicken & Waffles comes with juicy Mint Watermelon slices, which was a perfect pairing. Loved this spot for a quick early dinner! Walking in, we were greeted and the host let us know that the happy hour menu was for the bar only, so she put us on a waitlist and let us know we could sit in the lounge to wait. The wait only needed up being a few minutes which was great! Once we were seated at the bar, the bartender was super friendly! She was engaging with everyone and very personable. You can smell the fine wood attached to the backdrop. All I have to do is give yelp a few words and my homie always knows exactly what I'm looking for. Sometimes I don't even have to finish the sentence. We came in during Brunch hours but we wanted things from the dinner menu. I wanted the pictures I saw on you. My waitress said no problem. Went and got the dinner menu and she said just tell me what you want. I felt safe. I had to get my wife a very expensive steak. This is what she loves the most. A nice restaurant in a perfectly prepared steak. Things like these will get me cool points for at least two to three hours. Lol. I ordered the avocado toast. In my mind if I ate it and liked it I would be walking out looking like Tom brady. It was very good and spicy. But the Tom Brady thing did not work unfortunately. We also ordered a few drinks. They have a full drink menu and whoever wrote it should write poetry. Every single drink sound like a different experience. Suckered us and immediately. I ordered the lobster roll and I don't usually order any type of sandwich and such a nice dining experience but something told me it would all work out. It was probably the price of the lobster roll. Wifey ordered a steak, some kind of salad, and some kind of potato hash. The lobster roll was very rich and full of lobster. My bread was toasted a little too much but it was okay. Nice condiment of butter on the side to keep everything caloric in a bed of French fries. It was one of those meals that you eat when you know you're enjoying the last few hours of life with no responsibility AKA Monday is approaching. It reminded me of how I want to live my life in retirement. Without major care in the world, fine dining, living life to the fullest. There was a local bakery I wanted to visit but we will hit that next time. We were super full and ready to hit the road. I've always been a big fan of the South end. Which has both tail and claw meat from a 1.25 lb Maine lobster! The lobster was warm and filled a perfectly toasted, buttery New England-style brioche roll. Served with a side of clarified butter for pouring or dipping, and hand-cut French fries. This was hands down the best lobster dish I've had in Charlotte, and I'm already planning my next visit. Link & Pin is honestly hit or miss. I've dined here about 5-6 times total. The last two times were subpar. Ordered the fried oysters as an appetizer and the breading overpowered the oyster. It was like playing hide and seek to find the oyster in all the breading. Ordered the pork chop entree. The pork chop was thick and dry. Parking wise they offer credit for up to I believe two hours of parking which is huge in South End where parking can get pricey. What an amazing experience. Our server Matthew was impeccable. One of the most knowledgeable and professional servers I have experienced. The kind of guy that you would find at an exclusive, high end NYC steakhouse. I recently discovered a vodka drink called an Ice Tea Lemon. It has Sweet Tea Vodka, Sweet Tea, Lemon Juice and a finish with Sprite. It can also be made with plain vodka. Matthew hooked me up this drink and the mixologist made it perfectly. I think they should add to the menu. Call it George's Ice Tea Lemon. :-) For apps, we had the dumplings, brussels sprouts and candied jalapeno bacon. Dumplings were ok but not great. The sprouts and bacon were fantastic! I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. It was one of the best ribeyes I have had anywhere. Cooked perfectly to a medium rare and so flavorful. I recently went to a famous steakhouse in Indianapolis and the steak at Link & Pin runs circles around that place. See pic. I ate the whole thing. Nothing needed to be trimmed off. We ordered the delicious cauliflower appetizer, the arugula salad (I added salmon which was smokey and yummy), and hubs got the kale salad with grilled chicken. I thought it was all super tasty. I also had their signature blackberry tequila drink with the buzz bud flower that makes your mouth numb for a few minutes. I'd tried it before in Vegas so I knew what to expect. He was very prompt, helpful and didn't miss a beat with us, or the other tables he waiting on. My 7 cheese board was so good I stopped eating it and took some 2 hours home to my son. Who also enjoyed the well thought out selections. Would recommend to any one in the area for a top notch meal. Only gave them 4 stars cause the A/C was out the day we went. Should had set in the patio area where the air seemed to be very cold. Great place highly recommend we spent about $150 for 2 people on Father's Day. I want off the most popular first is the Crispy Oysters for the shareable, should have known anything deep fried tastes good. I would rather go get real oysters for sure. The ceviche tasted fresh but it was just blah. So the appetizers were a let down. But the Lobster Roll saved the day. My husband and I decided to try Link & Pin for our anniversary dinner. Everyone we interacted with from the second we walked in was very kind and friendly. Our server, John, was great! We liked the vibe of the restaurant, upscale but not in a stuffy uncomfortable way. We tried multiple things and everything was great: - My husband got the PB&J Old Fashioned: he liked it a lot! The ice cube is frozen fruit / jelly so the flavor develops as it melts. - General Tso's Cauliflower: SO GOOD. Basically a whole dish in itself because it comes with an asian slaw and rice. - Filet Mignon: This was the only thing that was even slightly disappointing. It tasted good but was cooked a little over the medium rare we asked for. - Brussels Sprouts: We ordered as a side dish instead of a starter and it was delicious, good balance of fried and crunchy with a tasty glaze. - Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans: Amazing. I think this was a special or maybe is just not added to the menu yet but it's a must order. The sauce that comes on it I would eat on everything, and the meat was cooked to perfection. - Nutella Budino: We got this as a free surprise for our Anniversary, and I would order it again. We had a great time as a party of 6. We came here for Sunday brunch and enjoyed ourselves. We walked in and immediately was taken to our table (we had previously secured a reservation online) outside on their covered patio. With Covid still lingering, we were happy to be on the patio. Although there was no heat on, the temperature outside did not call for it and we were extremely comfortable. I ordered the burger today. I kind of was in the mood for fries so that is why I chose it. The burger automatically comes medium unless you want it mid-well or well. I like my burgers medium so that is how it was served. I ordered the Rum Tum Tum. I am actually not really sure about the name. I did send it back because the ginger was just too overpowering. Instead I got a red sangria. Last time I went to Link and Pin, I ordered the chicken and waffles. Now that was great and I definitely left full. I would come back here again. You will find something good to eat on the menu and they do not skimp on the alcohol when making your drinks. read more

What a wonderful night cap I had here a few weeks ago with my plant friends!!!! This was my first time here because I just had no interest in coming for some reason. But I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke and it was pretty great! I had a few cocktails and I don't recall the name but it was fall themed with ginger and it was lovely! Our server was kind and attentive. The inside is beautifully decorated and nicely lit. It made for a very enjoyable and fun time with some great people. I've heard they have an amazing brunch too, so can't wait to try that. Parking was easy in the lot attached to the building. I think they validate, but I was being a rebel that night and didn't even ask. Came here solo on a weekday night, specifically for the scallops. Enjoyed the ambiance and perfect patio weather, appreciated the attentive service, and liked - but didn't quite love - my meal. The unique combination of items on the plate worked well (scallops + fennel bulb + cauliflower + cherry tomatoes + mash), and was nicely presented, but I felt the cauliflower and fennel were both a little undercooked, the sauce on the veg was a little too sweet, and the scallops were seared a touch too long. I would definitely return, but would likely try something else on the menu. read more

Enjoyed a nice lunch at Link & Pin this week. I ordered the arugula salad with mixed berries (minus the blackberries) and added salmon. It was a nice salad. Service was good. They validate parking for 2 hours in the attached parking deck. read more
