    A bowl

Honestly, it's a decent place to get a meal either before or after your whitewater adventures. It's good food, but nothing stellar or stand out. The salmon on the salad was good, almost too dry and could have used some more seasoning. I also wanted more beets - overall the price to what you got ratio wasn't there for me. Same with the bowl, you just wanted more of what was in there for the price. You can't beat the views of the restaurant though. You can see all the whitewater activity and the zip liners going across!

Chicken tenders were very good but the fry's were ok but not that. Good and service was amazing

This place has a pretty low average. I don't see it that way. The food is good, the service is solid, the views are amazing, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. If you sit inside, it's blah. But you don't go here to eat inside. You must eat outside for the real experience. Burger = Good Fries = Excellent Cucumber Salad = Decent Beer = Excellent Cool spot, especially if sitting outside with a beer while watching the whitewater. No way it's a 3. If you're an atmosphere person, go for it!

    Falafel Burger (Vegetarian)

Score : 3.5/5 Honestly not bad! I was VERY hesitant to eat at an outdoor recreational center but it was much better than expected. The wait was 20ish minutes and we were able to get ciders / beers at the drink area right next to it while we waited. I got the Falafel Burger ($13) - tasted great, falafel wasn't dry (so rare), and the broccoli side was GREAT. Only complaint was the falafel was a bit small for the bun. There were a handful of vegetarian options as well which is appreciated. My friends got the hot honey chicken sandwich ($16) and they really liked that as well- also those sandwiches were HUGE. Overall, definitely worth stopping in before or after your day at the White Water Center.

Honestly overall great experience! I took my dog Odin over to the Off Leash Dog Park earlier today and figured as we were wrapping up we can stop here to get a bite to eat before we head home! I tried to peak my head in the door (to not just assume I can walk in with my dog) and they welcomed me inside while they gathered a menu and other seasonal menus before escorting me outside to the patio. Emily very quickly asked if she could get Odin a water bowl and top if off with ice for him since its so hot outside! She brought out the dog bowl for him and while I was browsing the menu, I saw some great options! I ended up with the raspberry wheat beer (ABSOLUTELY delicious) with a 16oz pour (no head - was a full pour!) and the California burger. The burger has carmelized onions with arugula, some sort of spread that was so tasty with a white cheese! I would definitely come back and try some more menu options since this was so delicious! Figured this burger was a "safe" option since it was my first time here and now cant wait to try some more options! The 3 star rating I dont believe is a fair rating. I was welcomed and seated so quickly, Emily was attentive throughout my entire time here and I didnt feel rushed! I sat on the higher patio in the corner with great views over the property! This was overall an incredible experience! Food is great! Drinks wre great! Customer service is great! Location is great! I dont see where this restaurant went wrong according to other reviews?? Odin and I will be back!

Stopped by during the summer jam music event that Whitewater hosts during the summer. Had to wait ~ 20 minutes for a table outside which wasn't bad at all considering how many people were there. Once seated, we were given menus and our drinks. No cocktails unfortunately! Plenty of beers though and a few wine options. My husband ordered the 12 oz NY strip which he really enjoyed. The mashed potatoes were really good! I had the chipotle chicken sandwich (modified) with french fries. It was pretty tasty. The chipotle seasoning definitely made this quite spicy! Our waiter was attentive and very friendly!

Nice little restaurant in the white water center. Good place to stop and refuel from an action packed day doing activities at the park. Our stay was brief, but was provided great service. Ordered two orders of the wings, so yummy! It had a nice Carolina dry rub which really complimented the crunchy texture. Probably top five wings I've had in Charlotte. If your visiting the white water center, definitely stop here to get some food. I can't attest to the rest of the menu but I can say the wings are a must!

Decent beer list, the menu is definitely the right size. Service is fine, not fast or slow, the waitress forgot things, but we're all human and she corrected the situation promptly. My salmon was yummy! But the salad as a whole was a salad. The dressing was bland, not very citrus-y. Overall glad the restaurant was there, and the experience was fine. Nothing extraordinary, but hey, grabbing a beer while watching the rafts and kayaking? My kind of post white water recovery!

Was told it was a 45 minute wait but it ended up not taking that long to get a table. I recommend the nachos! (Sorry, no photo) The citrus salmon salad was just ok.

Food was pretty good but not great. The steak sandwich had an odd flavor to it we wouldn't get it again. The fried chicken wrap was good, we would order it again. Onion rings were great!

We have enjoyed their patio events on Saturdays - their outside space is amazing. We split the meatballs, empanada and pork belly. I was so excited to try the pork belly, but sadly it was my least favorite. The pork belly was overcooked and challenging to cut with the knife provided. The grilled watermelon had a nice taste though, and I loved the candied walnuts, I just wish the pork belly wasn't tough. The empanada was delicious and I loved the pepper coconut dipping sauce. I didn't get a chance to taste the meatballs because my children devoured them (that speaks volumes) but the sauce was light and flavorful. Our server was delightful and the space was great!

The transformation only took the Kaya team two weeks to complete, and the result is a stylish and inviting spot that keeps some of the best elements of its predecessor. The heated patio and outdoor picnic area remain, making it a great place to enjoy live entertainment in the warmer months. Kaya offers a unique setup with two kitchens serving different styles of food. One focuses on upscale tapas and entrées, while the other serves more casual fare like flatbreads and handhelds, both priced accordingly. You can order from either kitchen, giving plenty of options for any craving. The beverage program is also well-rounded, with beer and wine by the glass and bottle, a creative cocktail menu, and a full selection of non-alcoholic drinks. They will also offer brunch on the weekends, making it another reason to stop by. I started with the Bone Marrow from the tapas menu, which came highly recommended by the staff. If you like meat butter, this dish is for you. The rich, roasted marrow was topped with short rib marmalade, pickled onions, Fresno peppers, black garlic, truffle oil, and a sprinkle of Maldon salt. It was served with toasted crostini slices. If I could start every meal with this, I would. Next, I ordered the charcuterie spread, which included three types of fresh meats, three cheeses, honey, Kalamata olives, granola, and toasted crostini. You do not get to pick your selections, but the variety was well-balanced and enjoyable. Another tapas item I ordered was the Mussels in White Wine, which were steamed in a garlicky, charred onion broth. The toasted crostini were great for soaking up all the flavor, but if you are sensitive to garlic, you might want a breath mint afterward. I also ordered the Grilled Oysters, which were plated on a bed of coarse salt. The oysters were topped with charred onion butter, Parmesan cheese, panko crumbs, and onion salt. They were on the smaller side, and while I was not sure of their origin, they were well-prepared and flavorful. My dining partner ordered the Paella, which arrived in a cast iron skillet. The dish had a generous portion of rice, sausage, shrimp, mussels, and cilantro, with a drizzle of a delicious saffron crème fraîche. I managed to steal a scallop from the plate, and it was cooked perfectly. This might be my entrée choice next time. For my main, I went with the Adult Mac N' Cheese, which was a rich take on a childhood favorite. It was made with gemelli pasta, short rib, bacon, panko, and Parmesan in a creamy sauce. It was indulgent and well-executed, but I grew up on boxed Kraft Mac & Cheese, so my preference leans more toward mac and cheese without a cream base. If you enjoy elevated versions, this is worth trying. By the time dessert was offered, I was too full to eat another bite. The house-made options sounded tempting, including Oreo Cheesecake, Tres Leches Bread Pudding, and Café Crème Brûlée. The server should have brought them out first, because I probably would have ordered all three. Kaya Gastrolounge officially opens March 6. Parking in Belmont can be tricky, but it is free and manageable. I cannot wait to return on a warm spring afternoon, grab a seat on the patio, and enjoy live music with good friends and great food.

I'd been here once before late night in the taproom with the smaller bar menu. That experience was fine. Not amazing, not bad--decent food, decent drinks, decent service. Very low-key and very different from this visit. So when we were nearby again before heading out to see Christmas lights, it felt like an easy, familiar option. Unfortunately, this time was a completely different story. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get drinks and an appetizer, and water refills were basically nonexistent. I eventually got up and refilled our water myself while watching the server refill other tables. We were there for almost 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given the pace and crowd level. Food was all over the place. Three meals had to be sent back. My BLT showed up with maybe two strips of limp bacon, soggy toast, wilted lettuce, and red peppers instead of the onions I asked for. Rather than remaking it, they just brought out two more equally limp strips of bacon. Two burgers ordered medium/medium-rare came out well done--even though the menu clearly shows doneness levels with photos, which made that miss even more confusing. On the bright side, the potato soup was excellent--probably the best thing we had--but it arrived lukewarm after a long wait. Other dishes like the scallops, Cajun Alfredo, and chicken sandwich were genuinely good, which just added to the confusion. A manager did drop off food and briefly acknowledge the issues, but there was no real apology or follow-up. I don't expect comps, but with this many problems and slow service, the lack of accountability was noticeable. Used plates from appetizers and sides that were clearly finished sat on the table for most of the meal. When dishes were cleared, the server often asked people who were still actively eating rather than removing the empty or stacked plates that were ready to go, which only added to the overall lack of attention and awareness. Between the inconsistent food, very slow service, and an overall lack of attention to detail, this visit just didn't work. It seems like one of those places where you might get a great meal--or you might spend hours wondering what went wrong. For now, it's firmly in the meh, proceed with caution category for me.
