    She crab soup

I have been to this restaurant many years ago and I don't remember it being much to write home about. However, I went here again for restaurant week and it was delicious. The service was also great. I got the she crab soup with had good size pieces of crab in it. It also has a great flavor. For dinner, I got lobster ravioli which was also delicious and had plenty of lobster in it. It also came with asparagus. The meal was very good and full of flavor. For dinner we got the chocolate cake to go and it was a bit dry. Not my favorite dessert but the rest of the food was delicious so I do not base my review on the dessert. The place was also packed when we got there on a Saturday night which speaks volume. Overall a great meal and great service

My friend and I are traveling from out of town and were excited that we got to be here for Charlotte restaurant week. We chose this place based on the menu. We showed up for our reservation but there was about a 10-15 minute wait. I ordered a Paloma to drink (tasty watery) and for the 3 course meal, I ordered the Queso-spinach dip (it was bland and had a weird taste to it), the crab stuffed flounder (it came with rice pilaf and asparagus) and I upgraded to the oreo cheesecake for dessert. The food was OK to me. It could have used more seasoning. My one friend did enjoy his blackened lemon chicken that came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. My other friend did not enjoy the she-crab soup (it was so creamy, it was separating and didn't have a lot of crab in it). All in all, the food was mediocre. I probably won't be back the next time I'm in town

First visit at Red Rocks Cafe on Charlotte. Loved there was so much to chose from on the menu - steaks, seafood, pasta and chicken. We tried the she crab soup that was thick and flavorful. The coconut shrimp the was crispy and cooked perfect. For our main course we had the filet with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli and chicken sambuca. Excellent service and food. Highly recommend!

Met a dear old friend for dinner and a catch up. We dined on an outdoor patio which had a heating unit which was nice as the temperatures began to drop at nightfall. The food was great, I ordered CHICKEN QUATTRO FORMAGGIO and added shrimp. It was a creamy, cheesy delight! The perfect amount of everything!!! It's a very large serving. I wasn't even able to get half way through when I had it packed up to take home. My dinner companion and I shared a HUGE piece of carrot cake which was absolutely divine! Yummy yummy cream cheese frosting and the perfect amount of ingredients and moistness. I would have rated a 5, but our server just wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. I ordered a cocktail, which I never received. I wasn't charged so no harm no foul, HOWEVER, I was looking forward to tasting their spin on a Moscow Mule. Unfortunately, we had very few check-ins, and when we asked for coffee (regular), we were brought decaf. He made it right, but attentiveness matters and is observed when you are a server. Overall, it was a great place to dine and a wonderful place to catch up and spend time with someone special.

Red Rocks was mentioned a few times in the Charlotte Foodies Facebook group, I figured I'd try it out. Service I was greeted by Erin at the entrance pastry case, who was friendly and quick to seat me. My waiter Garrett was attentive, helpful, and didn't even flinch when I asked too many questions about the sides like I was taking a pop quiz. Starter I ordered a cup of She Crab Soup to start. It comes with a drizzle of sherry on top and a packet of saltines, classy and nostalgic at the same time. While it doesn't quite top the She Crab Soup at Eddie's Place, it definitely puts up a solid fight. Let's call it the Pepsi to Eddie's Coke. Main Course I went with the 1/2 rack of ribs. They were fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a sticky, sweet sauce with just a hint of heat. Not quite a Carolina reaper situation, more like a polite tap on the shoulder. I didn't need any extra sauce and found myself going full caveman, cleaning each bone like it owed me money. The wild rice risotto was good. Cheesy, flavorful, and a smarter side choice than baked beans if you don't want to fall asleep by 9. Sweet potato fries were fine. Definitely the standard frozen kind, but they served their purpose. Dessert I didn't have room for dessert, but I took a slice of Oreo cheesecake to go. It's made by Queen City Pastry in Mooresville, and based on past experience, it's probably going to ruin my self-control later tonight. Overall Vibe Red Rocks is the kind of place that works for nearly any occasion. The menu is huge: burgers, pasta, steaks, seafood, salads. You could bring your picky aunt, your steak-loving cousin, or your friend who only eats chicken fingers. It's casual, but the food is better than you'd expect from a place this broad. Solid experience overall. And as for Aqua e Vino, lock your doors and update your voicemail. Some of us are out here hungry.

Went here for the queens feast. I ordered a chopped salad, the blueberry pecan salmon, and the toffee bundt cake. Everything about this was soo good and I look forward to the queens feast here every year. The toffee bundt cake was the best part as it is a must try.

My first time here, I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of our seating and service. After a brief explanation of today's specials we were munching on a deliciously prepared meal set for a king. A true dining experience!

As always; the food, drinks, and atmosphere was AMAZING. I love eating on the patio cause it's warm and quiet, and my friends and I can chat using our inside voices. Oh, waiter was A1

I had a glass of white wine. I ordered the red beans and rice....the andouille sausage that they use in this dish is so good. A taste of New Orleans without the road trip. Bethany had their tomato bisque soup. Fenwick's version is exceptional. Don't believe me? Try it! The muffin they have on the side is NOT store bought. It has great flavor and texture. Worth taking home if you don't finish it. I wasn't planning on dessert but they had a piece of homemade blueberry pie. I could hear it calling, "don't leave me." Thank gosh I didn't. Their blueberry pie took me back to the 1960's in Michigan. A delicious blend of fruit, crust, and flavor. Fenwick's is located on Providence. Not far from the Knight's ballpark. If you are going to a ballgame, we suggest you eat here, first. The food and the menu are so much better. The same holds true for performances at the Belk. Fenwick's is not far from the theater, their food/drink prices are reasonable, and the menu will satisfy anyone. We go here before an event downtown.

I always enjoy coming in and sitting at the bar, waiting for my table because of how busy it is. I could get a reservation, but I'd rather hang out, and order an app, and people watch or have some conversation with the locals. I don't often drink, but the prickly pear margarita on the patio in the spring/summer is 10/10. The bartender Jay is always on it, he has a great memory, and will put in your order before you get the words out. I've had everything from the filet mignon to the sushi, and seasonal fish options during the holidays. Everything has been pretty great every time. The only critique I have for the food is, with the calamari. Stop adding peppers onto the pile, you can't tell what's calamari and what's peppers. There are often more peppers than calamari. All in all this place can live off word of mouth alone. If you go more than once, you typically see the same groups of individuals every week. And in today's volatile market, that's how you last. Pro tip: You can't go wrong with any dessert, the sundae, carrot cake, or brownie...it's all worth the calorie splurge.

It was easy to make a reservation on their website, and I recommend a reservation as it was very busy on a Saturday night. The interior has quite an upscale feeling with dim lighting and an overall premium feeling. I was seated right away, and the server was quite helpful and friendly. I had the charred grapefruit cocktail which was flavorful and balanced. Delicious! I was curious about the deviled eggs, and the server mentioned that I could try a half order. They were delicious! The sugar bacon accompanying them was truly delicious as well! I also had the house salad with honey mustard dressing which was a delicious salad with fresh vegetables, eggs, and bacon! For an entree I had the "prime meatloaf" which had a very nice presentation (see photo). I substituted a baked potato with bacon and chives. The potato was delicious with a perfectly fluffy filling. The meatloaf was flavorful and tender, but the sauce was a bit salty and overpowered the meatloaf. Maybe ask for the sauce on the side if you try this dish. For dessert I had the key lime pie. It had a wonderfully tart, custardy filling. The macadamia nut crust was almost a little bit too crunchy, and I would've preferred a more traditional graham cracker crust. Overall, this was a very tasty dining experience!
