An Absolutely Exceptional Dining Experience I entertain for a living and host large professional dinners all across the country, so I do not say this lightly: GG is one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. What began as a dinner for approximately 15 guests quickly grew to 24 attendees, and at no point did GG miss a beat. From the moment we arrived, she put me completely at ease, confidently assuring me that everything was under control--and she absolutely delivered on that promise. Managing a group of this size is impressive on its own, but GG handled an incredibly complex set of dietary restrictions and preferences, including lactose intolerance, vegetarian, pescatarian, seafood, coconut, and shellfish allergies. She navigated every request with professionalism, grace, and remarkable attention to detail. Not only was she knowledgeable, but she anticipated needs before they arose and proactively solved problems before anyone even noticed them. GG was instrumental in helping me plan and order for a large group, ensuring that everyone felt included and well cared for while also expertly managing the budget. Her organization, communication, and attention to detail were second to none. She made what could have been a stressful evening feel effortless. I would trust GG with the largest events, the most complicated groups, and the most demanding clients without hesitation. She represents the gold standard of hospitality. I would also like to give a huge shoutout to the chef and entire culinary team. Often, when a restaurant delivers such extraordinary service, the food can sometimes take a backseat. That was certainly not the case here. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully executed. The quality of the food matched the excellence of the service, creating a truly memorable dining experience from start to finish. GG and the entire team at Deluxe Fun Dining exceeded every expectation. Their professionalism, hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care for their guests were evident throughout the evening. Thank you for making our event such a tremendous success. I cannot wait to return the next time I'm in Charlotte. Experiences like this are rare, and you have truly set the standard for what five-star hospitality should look like. Bravo, GG and team--you absolutely outdid yourselves!

I'll keep this simple. Food was good, service was good, space good, drinks and presentation were fun. Now for the however. There was a 20% service fee included in the bill of $330 which I'm good with and we added an additional $15 because the service was solid. We got sideways looks and huffs insinuating we didn't tip enough. I think there was an implied expectation of an additional 20% strictly for the server. I would love to go back but won't based on the expectations. Know before you go.

Yes, food presentation can be fun! We can were for a birthday dinner and it was truly special. Right from drinks presentation, to popcorn shrimps, to puffs, and our entrees. We loved how our food tasted and the service. Drinks were well made too. A bit too expensive though.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant as a recommendation because we were out of towners celebrating a birthday. Pros: The aesthetics of the environment were nice including the live saxophonist which added a wonderful touch. The customer service was great, I forgot the name of our server but she was extremely sweet, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. Also, the presentation of the drinks and food were fun and instagram worthy! Cons: Though provided with large portions, the quality of the food was lacking. The chicken wings tasted like frozen wings, the lamb lacked seasoning and there wasn't much to them. The fried lobster was also underwhelming. The drink prices were a bit pricey for the amount of alcohol in them. Overall, this restaurant has potential, I just think that the quality of food could be improved.

The vibe of this place is definitely something to experience. We went there to celebrate my birthday and everything served was a beautifully crafted presentation. The food was amazing and the staff and bartender were awesome!

Was so excited for a fun experience but it was really all for show and the food was super disappointing. I wish they paid as much attention to flavor and temperature of food rather than just presentation

First time I have returned since my visit in 2021. This is definitely a place to take someone to impress ! There were 10 of us and one guy was celebrating his birthday. They gave him a crown and a smoking septre. Each of our items were served with ridiculously outrageous presentation. I tried the crab dip with pita bread and it was delicious! I also tried a bite of the steak bites and they were pretty good. For an entree, I got the lamb chops. They were tender and had a cilantro cream sauce and slices of pickled red onion. My cocktail was witches brew ($20) and it was absolutely fabulous! My husband also got a raspberry bourbon cocktail that was also very good. ($18) For dessert, I got the chocolate mousse cake with side of hot cocoa sauce and fruit. The chocolate sauce was amazing and reminded me of one of those chocolate lava cakes. Tip of 20% is automatically added to groups. There is a note on the menu that they WILL NOT SEPARATE CHECKS FOR 12 PEOPLE OR MORE. So be aware of that if you go with a group. The bill for my husband and I for 2 cocktails, 2 lamb chop entrees, and one chocolate dessert including tip was $195. Parking at the lot across the street is expensive ($14.) One guy parked in a garage and walked farther for $10. They redecorated since the last time I was there and it is much more colorful and fun ! Did they change the name too ? Because I thought it was Delux Fine Dining. Now it is Delux Fun Dining. Anyway, I'll be back in a few years due to the cost of parking and the cost of the items here. Lol

Came here on a weekend despite the reviews on Instagram it was quite empty. The place was clean and well organize the had several awards on the wall from 2020 to 2023. They were no current awards. Paid for parking upon entering was greeted and had a reservation. We were seated and waited for a very long time. No one came to the table not even even bring water. So we left the table because I was so hungry and went to the bar area as it was empty. I grabbed some food from the bartender. I enjoyed the lychee mimosa the popcorn shrimp. The shrimp and grits, lacked vegetables and real flavor and only had four shrimp. I quite enjoyed the Godiva brownie. The food came around a good time. The temperatures and textures were good. The service is where they lost everything. When checking out they wanted to charge me for two meals made the correction. Hope they get organized so much potential.

The good exotic & unforgettable in appearance and vey tasty! Our host Curtis and saxophonist Shablee provided superior fun and entertainment our entire dining experience. Entire staff seemed nice although the manager seemed bothered. However, the aesthetics and the entire dining experience was beautiful and unforgettable. This is my new " got to do this on the regular and especially for special occasions! I love the smoke effect all over my food and drinks! I was thrilled to be able enjoy the edible drink decorations!

So let me start by saying that whoever is making videos of this place has been doing an amazing job promoting this restaurant. I saw this restaurant first on a video that someone posted on Instagram. It looked fun and exciting and we had some friends that we wanted to bring with us and have an outing together at a cool fun place. The menu is a little tricky. They promote a $45 brunch that gives you one starter, one main course, and one desert, but there are only a few items on the menu that match the $45 fee. As you look over the menu, the items on the menu have a "+$x" where "x" is a dollar amount to add to the brunch fee. For example. The burger was additional $24 so you pay $69 for the burger. The chicken wings are additional as well. So there are only a few items in the main course that are "included" in the $45 brunch fee. The representation of the food is really creative. I've never seen food displayed this way. So it was quite an experience and made that part of the brunch very fun. Popcorn shrimp brought out in a popcorn maker machine was one of those. The food, however just wasn't making the grade. And there was a mistake where the table beside me ordered the 24k gold chicken wings and I did as well and the kitchen brought their plate to me. After they sat it down, the lady beside me said "I think that is my plate" and I said "you can have it, I didn't touch anything and all I did was take a picture". But she insisted on not taking it. That made it weird for both of our parties. She was the only one at her table without food and I was the only one WITH food. The staff really screwed that up and for what you pay for this experience and the food, that was a big issue. The chicken wings were dry and not very meaty at all. More bone than meat and just not something I'd ever try again. I regretted not getting something else. The burger had lobster on it and we shared the lobster with others at the table and it just wasn't up to par with a $69 burger with lobster on it. You have a choice of ordering water only and it was warm to barely chilled, which added to the dryness of my chicken. There were 5 of us. My daughter had a $12 Caesar salad. I had the 24k chicken wings, there was a child with us that had the chicken nuggets, and the two others in our party at the shrimp & grits and the burger. When the bill came it was $292+ and I realized there was a $45 surcharge on the bill (tip is included by them). That's sad because I give a HUGE tip for good service and less if it's not up to speed. But enforcing a tip on ALL sales is really odd. I can see this for big parties. But not a group of 5. We took the desert home. It was a brownie for all of us. The brownie was not fancy restaurant style brownie. It tasted like something you'd buy at the grocery store. I'm not trying to be this critical. The food just simply didn't match a $292 meal for 5 (when one was a kids meal and one was a salad only). That's pricey for such low quality. Another interesting thing that turned weird was that during the start, a guy comes up with an SLR camera and says "can I take your picture?" By the time the meal came out, he walked up and showed us a very fancy frame with our picture in the frame. He said "you can buy this for $25". What? I mean in the 90s this was probably a cool thing. But it's 2025 where people can take a photographer grade photo with their phones now. And surely nobody would want to pay $25 for it. We chose NOT to buy it. But as I was leaving the waiter approached me and said "hey sir, did you want this picture". And I said "no thank you". I would give them 10 out of 5 on presentation and cool ways to display food. I would give them a 2 out of 5 on the food - it just didn't satisfy me. Maybe it was just the dry thin wings. But it just didn't do anything for me. I would give them a 1 out of 5 for how they price their food and how they add a tip to every ticket. I may come back. But I'll have to really think about that before doing it again.

Based on how Deluxe Fun Dining is advertised and the pricing I expected an elevated dining experience from the area, ambiance, food and service. However, I feel like only 2 of the 4 were met. The area is downtown Charlotte but on the edge. It looks a little run down compared to the photos. Additionally the inside of the restaurant looks a little DIY when it comes to decor. But the food was absolutely delicious! I thought the salmon Wellington was a unique and flavorful dish! The flakiness of the pastry was just right! I also really enjoyed the seafood pasta. The sauce was super yummy and the chunks of lobster and shrimp were perfect. I'll mention that the lobster stuck to the inside of the shell a bit which made for messy hands. So if you trying to stay cute, maybe choose a different dish lol. The customer service was also good! I'd recommend this spot for a good meal but it's not the swankiest of places. Some parties were dressed up but there were others in t-shirts.

The Deluxe Lamb Chop came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. The lamb was cooked medium-well, tender, and juicy.

We had a great time at Deluxe Fun Dining, sampling both regular menu items and some special offerings for Restaurant Week. The portions are generous, served on large platters that really tie into the fun, thematic atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout the meal. All our entrees arrived at the same time, so no one had to wait. This spot is perfect for a date night, a girls' night out, or a birthday celebration--everything is presented in an exciting, over-the-top style.

It's valentine's day and you need to give a fifty dollar deposit per person for your reservation. You get to the restaurant and you're told that they're running thirty to forty five minutes behind. And now you're stuck, your money is taken and you got nowhere to go.Because it's valentine's day and everybody else has reservations. Why are they running so far behind?I hope the food is much better than this reservation process has been.

The ambiance is what I would describe as a "modern cigar box." The lighting resembles a modern bedside lamp and the room itself feels small and subdued. When we visited there were only five guests being served in the entire restaurant. If you're looking for a place to see and be seen, this probably isn't it. The meal began with the amuse-bouche courses listed on the menu, but an unexpected bread service appeared later, after the opening dishes. The bread itself isn't listed anywhere on the tasting menu and the execution felt oddly disorganized. There were three guests at the table but only two plates, along with a mismatched amount of bread. We also had to request bread plates, which weren't initially provided. It didn't feel like a thoughtful accompaniment to the meal so much as something that appeared without much planning. Course-wise, nothing truly stood out. The Rainbow Trout was probably the best dish of the evening, but even that wasn't extraordinary. The rest of the menu leans heavily on luxury ingredients like toro, truffle, A5 wagyu, and foie gras, but the execution didn't elevate them in a memorable way. One course that particularly puzzled me was prime beef with mashed potatoes. Steak and mashed potatoes is something easily obtainable at countless restaurants. If you're going to put that on a $275 tasting menu, it needs to be exceptional. Unfortunately, this version simply wasn't. Service throughout the evening was inconsistent. Toward the end of the meal I sat with an empty water glass for roughly nine minutes, which shouldn't happen in a restaurant operating at this level. There were also some training issues with the host. During one presentation he placed a guest's dish facing the wrong direction and then attempted to explain the components left-to-right for two guests while reversing the explanation for the third guest rather than simply correcting the plate placement. His delivery felt awkward and rehearsed. This isn't meant as a criticism of the individual personally, but it suggests the staff could benefit from more training and refinement. At $275 per person, this was actually the most expensive base tasting menu of my last three fine-dining experiences, and unfortunately it was also the weakest. I'm giving Sora a generous 1.5 out of 5 stars. I'm open to the possibility that this was simply an off night, but considering how empty the dining room was, it does make me wonder if this is a more common occurrence than it should be. At this price point, diners deserve a much more polished and memorable experience.

The interior and overall vibe are really nice, and the food was good -- but nothing especially memorable. What completely ruined the evening, though, was the service and how an accident was handled. A server from another table accidentally dropped an entire chocolate dessert shot glass behind me, and I got covered in chocolate -- my neck, hair, sweater, jeans, and even half of our table. Accidents happen, and I totally understand that. What shocked me was that neither the server who dropped it nor my own server reacted or even apologized. My server saw everything happen but didn't hurry to help or check on me. I sat there for more than 15 minutes with chocolate in my hair and all over my clothes. Eventually, I had to call the manager myself and ask for napkins or something to clean up. To the manager's credit, she responded quickly and was helpful. Ironically, my server only came over after the manager had already handled everything. In the end, I left the restaurant with a dirty sweater, stained jeans, and chocolate still in my hair. Instead of properly following up, they simply handed me a business card and told me to email or call about the incident. Honestly, after what happened, why should I have to chase the restaurant for a resolution? A much better approach would have been for someone to ask for my contact information and proactively reach out. Overall, it was a very strange and disappointing experience, especially for a place that presents itself as upscale. Sadly, I wouldn't come back again.
