Ok. Stop the presses!!!!! As a lover for some good egg foo young, finally a place where the gravy is brown and not that deep dark soy sauce gravy. If you like egg foo young like I do and Gen X, you know the gravy is brown. For the past decade or more, the gravy has changed and became some nasty salty dark soy sauce at a lot of Chinese restaurants. You can find the brown gravy at old school restaurants but they are hard to find nowadays. But I found it at Lin's Kitchen. Not only is the gravy brown but it's the perfect brown gravy. Not over salty. Not too much corn starch thickening and it isn't dark soy sauce looking. The roast pork egg foo young I ordered was delicious and perfect. The beef and broccoli extra extra extra spicy was delicious too. Finally when asking for spicy, the food is actually spicy so thank you for this. The fried pork dumplings were delicious too. Plump and the skin thick and fried perfectly on the bottom. The dumpling sauce it came with had a nice flavor. The general tso chicken was good. It's just your typical general tso's chicken. How am I finding this place just now. Someone needs to kick me. lol read more

Heart officially broken. 10+ year faithful consumer of the steamed pork dumplings. A recent change in recipes to include something resembling/reminiscent of cilantro requires an official parting of company on this specific dish. Otherwise, all good with the garlic eggplant and wonton front. read more

Best takeout I've had since I moved to Jackson Heights. I have ordered pickup twice through Grubhub and have been so please with the service and food that I am walking over at least once a week now for my Hunan chicken. Came here to get some appetizers. When I entered, the place is smaller than King Wah on Northern Blvd. The place wasn't busy when I entered as the restaurant just opened. I saw there was a take-out busboy coming in and out for orders. The tables and chairs were full of condiments and utensils. After making my order, the cooks were fast and one was making dumplings. Unfortunately, while the staff is very nice and the prices are affordable. The Sichuan chicken was bland, thin and flabby. But the low mein noddles were pretty good. Some of the veggies has spots on them, not sure that was about. I didn't experience food poisoning or anything like the other reviews said. But it's certainly an interesting place. read more

I like that they have fresh choi sum when I get Chinese veggies with rice. They are great with delivery and have other tasty options. Sometimes certain dishes have a lot of oil, but the ingredients taste fresh and yummy. My family visit often for chicken and broccoli on white rice. Don't get the sesame shrimp. Oddly huge balls of dough with a tiny bit of baby shrimp in them. The other food seemed generic though! Friend got the chicken and broccoli and she really liked that. Just had my hopes up for the sesame shrimp, they're better off just subbing for baby shrimp, I'm scared to order that again anywhere :'( read more

Update March 2019: No more, Lin's. The past few times have been really, really bad. The quality has really gone downhill. Last time our food arrived quickly (as always) but the General Tso's was a bit cold. Within two hours of eating, both of us got violently ill with what I can only attribute to food poisoning. I'm on a mission to find the best Chinese food in Jackson Heights; a similar mission is underway for Grandma Pizza. Staples of my life apparently. For what it is, Lin's deserves four stars. I got hot & sour soup which was standard and beef with Chinese vegetables. The vegetables could have been of better quality. I'll keep looking and will adjust this rating should I find greener pastures. IMO this fared better than Peking Kitchen solely on their meat quality. read more

Easily the best thing I ate in all of 2019! I order from Lin's almost once a week and pretty much get the same thing every time (Pork Egg Roll, Crab Rangoons, and Spicy General Chicken with White Rice, and sometimes a can of Coca Cola). Tonight on New Year's Eve was their fastest delivery yet in barely over 10 minutes! As usual, the food was super hot and fresh. What more can I say? Had been ordering from this place for years now and it was ok, but now that they just re-opened....OMG.... it was AMAZING, the food is at another level, is really, really good. My family & I enjoyed the food so much. This restaraunt is not stuck up unlike New Peking. 5/5 for service 4.5/5 for food: Kung Pao chicken, it's good. Seasame chicken is great! Chicken with Broccoli is good. Crab Rangoons are very good, chinese style a bit too oily though. Hot and Sour Soup is good. Egg rolls are okay. Fried rice is good as well. Spare tip ribs are good. I love their food, but whenever I order through seem less it's always wrong. When I called to say the other was wrong, (they sent me sesame chicken instead of General Chicken) they told me it was the same thing, only difference is the sesame seeds. I told them that I didn't want sesame chicken and they were annoyed to resend the order. When the delivery man showed up he wanted the original order back. Not my fault they made the mistake. *sigh* Ordered a lunch special here. Pros: food was hot and came very fast. Cashew Chicken with white rice - the chicken was not diced, like cashew chicken usually is. Also there were probably 10 cashews in the whole container. They filled it with CELERY. It was literally just a ton of celery and some chicken. WTHeck? Rice is rice. Lin's is a classic hole in the wall Chinese takeout/delivery place with the lurid photos of entrees above the counter. HOWEVER, they put together very good Chinese food and Cantonese noodle soups. This place delivers (both literally and metaphorically). Also, a free soda with deliveries over $12 is a nice touch. read more

Pretty good Chinese takeout place in the Jackson Heights area. Recently with new ownership. I always get their Cantonese style dishes - Roast Pork over Rice with $1 extra veggies. Was looking for a place that served roast duck over rice for delivery. Generally i will go to shun wang on broadway in elmhurst. This place had it! It's not the best but it did the job. Good, quality, local Chinese take out. I have tried a couple of others around JH, but Lin's Kitchen is consistent, which is really what you need. The place is not fancy, and has the standard take out menu w/ your standard lunch specials. I recommend you try it out. read more

I live in the neighborhood and Lin's Kitchen is my go to! Its hard to find a really good General Tso's chicken but my search is over! They have it in mild, medium and spicy and I'm Thai so i go with spicy! Its delicious and saucy and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! The shrimp version is good too but the chicken is my jam! They have a huge menu so I'll try to branch out and see what else is good another day. read more

A solid Chinese fast food place. Food is consistent and quite good. It's kind of awkward eating in because the place is pretty small, so majority of their customers are from pick up or delivery. They also have an online ordering website which I think is pretty neat. Everyone there is working very hard to make this place stand out from all the other Chinese fast food places. They are doing very well, especially on a place like 35th Avenue where shops come and go every few months. (Trust me I know - I live a block away.) It's also open quite late. All in all, this is a decent fast food place. I recommend it when you're craving some cheap take-out. read more
