I've seen both Dr. Strimling and Dr. Handler at this location over the past decade (possibly longer).  For both, I trust their decades of  experience. However, I do favor Dr. Handler.  He is a professional that is also personable.  It takes a  while to get in to see him (appointments are booked out months in  advance!) because he's so popular.  However, he takes his time during  the appointment.  I don't feel rushed or that he's rushing either.  He  answers all of my questions.  Staff I've interacted with have been consistently very nice and efficient as well.  The only down side is the very busy parking lot, but there is a parking garage nearby, so I just give myself several extra minutes arrival time in case I have to walk a considerable distance from the car to the building read more

Terrible office & Dr. They were to busy to take my copay and then I get a call two days later that if I don't pay right now over the phone that per Dr. Handler, he will not see me anymore. I obviously paid the $35 on the spot, but was insulted over the threat to not see me anymore when I was following their instructions. I am a diabetic with cardiovascular problems. Therefore, I am on blood thinner medication and was very concerned about having surgery. Dr. Handler performed Mohs surgery on my left thigh without any problem. NO excessive bleeding. In the past I had minor surgery on my right thigh by another dermatologist and and I had major bleeding. Dr. Handler is not only a great dermatologist, he is also very personable. read more

Dr. Handler has been my dermatologist for years He has always been cordial and prompt. He takes the time to explain what things are that you are concerned about. If he finds something suspicious on my skin he takes the time and does the procedure right then instead of scheduling another appointment. Thankfully though nothing has been serious enough to warrant coming back to do more extensive treatment for me. This is his correct address and contact number 04/09/2014 Dr. Lionel Handler is not only rated in the top 10 dermatologists in Las Vegas, he should be number 1. In 2002 I had what I thought was an irritating pimple above my right eye, turned out it was Basal cell. Dr Handler was kind, attentive and soothing during my Mohs surgery and the scar almost completely disappeared after he suggested Mederma. Yesterday I called his office because I was supposed to have Mohs surgery again on my scalp for a squamous Cell the day before at Desert Dermatology, but as I prepared to walk into the surgical room the nurse advised me they would not suture me till the following day. I asked why, and the girl replied "Because that's the way Dr. Kim does it". I could not go home with an open wound so I walked out. Dr Handlers office was very caring and squeezed me in a few hours after I called him. He looked at my lab report and scalp and said "We can do this right now if you want" or we could do it when I was ready later in the week. I was so relieved, I said yes, let's do this. It took less than 2 hours and I was on my way home with antibiotics!!! Dr Handler does not mess around, no unnecessary extra visits, and again he calmed me down and made me feel like I was welcome at any time. He was supposed to leave early and stayed just for me, saying to me that I had been through enough already. His staff is very sweet, understanding, and they listen. I will never stray again. If you want an KIND doctor who is GENUINE and is willing to go the extra mile for his patients then Dr Handler is your guy. I have been seeing Dr. Handler for 2 years. He is one of a kind. Not only a great physician but extremely personable. He has taken interest in my ongoing dermatological and personal life. I don't think I have ever run into a Doctor that always takes interest in my life. I have extensive skin damage from the years out in the sun and his help with this has been 5 star. I have been struggling with issues for 3 years. 3 years, 26 different doctors and 3 hospital stays and no one had an answer or diagnosis for me. Went to Dr Handler in April of 2014 for a slight rash I was getting, he went about giving me a biopsy and came back that i had the Sarcoids condition. No one in 3 years had even given me an idea of what it could be and kept passing me on from doctor to doctor. In a matter of a month I had an accurate diagnosis and now a treatment course thanks to Dr. Handler. I was referred to the right Doctor this time that specializes in Sarcoids and am on my way to getting back on with my life in a positive way. Dr Handler has always taken the time to explain things thoroughly, amazing bedside manner, and on 2 occasions has called me directly just to see how I was doing. This is one amazing doctor. Would recommend him to anyone. He has even helped me to find a new primary care physician when I asked because I wasn't getting any good answers with mine and was very disappointed. I want to start off by saying that this review is from 4 years ago... After taking birth control for 6 months it completely changed my hormones and I began having terrible cystic acne on my chin. I saw Dr after Dr after Dr between Phoenix and Las Vegas. One Dr, can't remember who, but I think he had an office in Summerlin off Cheyenne, made me come in ever month to get another prescription for something I had already been taking for a year. His nurse told me "he never gives refills or writes for more than a 30 day prescription" can you say rip off?! When I told another dr about how painful the acne was she said "take some Motrin" really? After pretty much giving up hope that my skin would ever clear again, I was highly recommended Dr Handler by a coworker. When I saw him he said he had no problem giving me a prescription for what I'd been taking OR we should try accurate. YES!!!!! Finally someone who gets it. He was caring and listened and even asked about my husband. I want to comment that I never had any issues with the staff there, appointments always ran on time and he always spent a good amount of time in the room o our check ups. Months later I sent my husband in to get some spots checked out and have him inquire about some spots on his face. Dr Handler did a full head to toe on him and removed quite a questionable moles. He never tried to sell him on expensive peels or treatments. The reason I am writing this review now is because to this day I still highly recommend him and everyone I send to him RAVES about him. Also, on q neighborhood forum when someone was asking about. Good dermatologist, about 80% of people recommended Dr Handler. I'm not sure what the deal is with that guy who wrote that very odd one star review, but I doubt it's ever real as the guy only has one review and his profile says he lives in MA...just odd.
