The visit itself was great because Steve is great. The booking process, however, is a different little adventure. Getting an appointment here can feel like trying to secure concert tickets, win a radio contest, and decode a government form all before lunch. At checkout, their computer system was down, and the woman at the desk said she would call me once everything was back up. It has been almost a week, and apparently that call is still wandering the desert looking for cell service. So yes, Steve is absolutely worth seeing, and I would recommend him without hesitation. Just bring patience, emotional hydration, and possibly a backup calendar, because the medical care is wonderful, but the scheduling and follow through could use a meaningful intervention. read more

I had a second appointment with them recently and now feel confident recommending this dermatologist office. I visited last year (2025) for my first full-body skin check and returned this year for my annual check. My visit was with Nasslynne Lenz (APRN) and she was wonderful. She was very friendly and she took her time - I did not feel rushed at all. I also had to take my toddler with me because the sitter canceled at the last minute - he is pretty well-behaved and was in the stroller the whole time and we didn't have any issues, which I very much appreciate. The front desk staff is also very friendly and easy to work with. I can't speak to any of the other services (i.e. general dermatology, surgical dermatology, or cosmetic), but I can definitely recommend them for the full-body skin check. And don't forget to wear sunscreen and re-apply! read more

They do not let you see the receipt for services rendered, that is provided 72 hours after you've already paid. They withheld my prescription refill until I came in person, during which time they charged me $90 for the appointment. They added on another $40 for a different question I had for a total appointment time of about 6 minutes. In total, they tried to charge me $135 for 6 minutes of conversation that could have happened over the phone. read more

They did not consider my allergies. Ordered me medications with the drug I am allergic to. I had to consult with insurance companies pharmacist for a recommendation on what medications did not have the medication I was allergic to and that is covered by them. Dr. Reba Suri wanted me to come in the office again to discuss other options for my rosacea treatment. That is why I went in the first time. I was told the medications and treatment would not cost me any money , was covered by my insurance and would come to my home. None of that was true. I will not be going back. My face is inflamed by an allergic reaction to the cream. It cost over $5 dollars. The solution to wash my face was over $600 dollars. Only thing covered was pill to reduce inflammation. Big mistake going back to that dermatologist group. The dr I saw there last year misdiagnosed me. He no longer works there. Run do not walk away from that place! read more

My husband and I made an appt with Vivida after learning our dermatologist was closing the office near us. Not wanting to drive 45 min to their main office, we checked our Medicare book and found Vivida was listed. The initial appt for us went well and they found BCC on me. After a biopsy was done, I get notified that Vivida is not under contract with my insurance provider, Inner Mountain Health, and I would need a referral from my PCP. That required an appt with my PCP which took a week. My PCP expedited my referral and I get no response from Vivida. After calling numerous times, Vivida cannot find my referral. Now it is 3 weeks after my biopsy, and I still have no response. My finger is almost healed and I still have BCC! Bottom line, we have an appt with my original dermatologist and will drive the 45 min for it. Vivida did email my pathology report to them the same day. Vivida would be better served by confirming insurance before making an appt with anyone. I would not recommend the guys to anyone! Very disappointing! read more

Find a different dermatologist. This place sucks. It's beautiful & the people are great in your face. As soon as you leave you will find they didn't send all the prescriptions they said they were gonna send. Then you have to fight to get ahold of the office. If one of the rx's has adverse effects on you the next best thing is the most expensive thing they can give you. They aren't willing to try alternate route. Then the get upset when you ask to be referred elsewhere. I've been trying to get ahold of Saha Reber for over a month. I've left several messages & she will not call back. Neither will her office manager. You are only good when you are in front of you & they have somethin to charge but they truly dgaf about your health or safety. Shit these doctors don't even tell you adverse effects of the rx's they are prescribing you. LIKE NOT DRIVING A VEHICLE because hyperhydrosis medication dried you out too bad. Came in this AM for the 1st time for my dermatology appointment. Vivida is super clean and the girls at the front were super nice and efficient on my check in process. I was called back by DEMI and she guided me back to my exam room. She was super nice and professional with a beautiful smile. THANK YOU DEMI for taking good care of me. My wife had to have a biopsy done on her arm which required stitches. They were in there for two weeks. She went into the office today to get the stitches removed and they were removed by a medical assistant not even the nurse practitioner or a doctor came in to see how the healing went and that everything was OK. She was there about 45 seconds and that was it never going back there again They're more interested in how many people they can get through there a day not really good patient care like other dermatologist in town. They actually spent time with their patients not these guys. read more

Been going to the Horizon Ridge location for a handful of times now after switching from LV Skin & Cancer Clinics (due to having over 2.5 hour wait times after appointment time). Each visit has gotten worst than the last. First visit was the only positive experience. I have waited over an hour after my appointment time before being seen multiple times: unacceptable. Regarding cost: they have been running our insurance incorrectly as a "specialty insurance" even though it's a Tier 1 and expressed to me that I need to pay a $90 copay. Getting ahold of someone on the phone is a nightmare. Only way to get ahold of someone is if you go to the clinic in person. They do not call you back after the initial. I had an appointment one morning and left very irritated and upset. Fed up to be honest. The front desk girl with the curly black hair and fuller lips always has an attitude on her and not a good one. She speaks to people as if they aren't worth her time and as though she's better than them. The MA that took me back was very rude (she is the one with dyed dark red hair and false eyelashes), hardly any eye contact, wasn't listening to my concerns/ reason for being there. I explained I need them to check certain things when they do my skin check as I need to have one done every 3-4 months. She replied with "we can't do both we don't have time" and repeated around 6 times the phrase "with a full body skin check, she'll (Dr. Buffington) check thoroughly from head to toe". Not including my skin concerns in which I was there for. The MA was rolling her eyes when she was talking with me etc. I overheard the MA talking with Buffington before coming in to see me and I was everything but pleased. Completely unprofessional and similar to high school drama. Saying "be ready for this one" as though I was a bad person. When Dr. Buffington entered with the MA, I felt as though she didn't really care and that I was wasting their time. Her attitude and lack of thoroughness made me uncomfortable. I felt off the second she came in the door. She explained to me that they do not have time to check both and that I need to make another appointment. Mind you, I was with her less than 5 minutes for the full body skin cancer screening, maybe a total of 3 minutes if that. So there was no excuse to have no time to address concerns. While Buffington was about to check my breasts during the skin check, she pulled the gown down herself (as I was holding/moving it over to the spots she was checking as I am uncomfortable not being covered in some way) so I was fully exposed. Being uncomfortable during a full body skin check is beyond unacceptable and a huge red flag. I felt completely ignored as well as rushed like they had better things to do than deal with a patient. Also, they always run my insurance incorrectly. It's a Tier 1 and the front desk expect me to pay a $90 copay instead of $30. I asked multiple times to make sure they had it right and they insisted they do. Do not trust the front desk at all when asking for a payment in any way. Wait for a bill to be mailed. I will not be returning after giving multiple chances to this facility. Positives: Ryan Sittler NP gets 5 stars from me. He is very kind and professional. Felt comfortable with him immediately. He knows his stuff. The girl checking me out and scheduled my next appointment was kind and professional. read more

After waiting a month for my appointment following a referral from my PCP, I had a terrible experience at Vivida. The office was beautiful and convenient--but the service does not reflect the appearance. I made an appointment early morning, first available slot, so that I could still get to work on time, and I showed up 15-20 minutes earlier than that. When I went to the front desk to check in, no greeting, no eye contact, just "name" and "insurance and id." Then they asked me for payment, which I made, and gave me a form to fill out. I filled out the form in 5 minutes but every time I went up to the desk to hand it to the girl, she was gone, and the other girl had a line of people. People who came in after me were taken back. Because the form had my personal medical info on it, I was not going to just leave it on the counter. I was already there nearly an hour waiting for them to call me. Finally, the girl came back and was free, and I handed her the form and asked if she knew how much longer it was going to be. She rudely said that she had not "checked me in" yet because she didn't have the form--even though she already took payment! I was floored! She was unsympathetic and said she checked me in now. I sat and waited for another 20 minutes and finally got up to ask for a refund of my money because I had to go to work. I stood there for at least 5 minutes before either girl at the desk acknowledged me. Finally went to the other girl to get the refund, she said the first girl would have to do it, and I finally got my money back. As I was walking out the door they called my name. I asked the RA if she knew if I was going to seen right away if I went in (figuring I would just get it done) and she said "Oh no, there's a lot of people in front of you." I walked out then and am never coming back. Now that I see the reviews including that they failed to return 3 messages about results that were CANCER, I feel like I dodged a bullet. read more

I had a great experience here with the first provider I met with back in January who was unfortunately not there anymore during my second visit. I truly wish I had not came here again. I came for a few things but one of the reasons was to get a few small skin tags removed on my neck which I developed during and after pregnancy with my first child. Ryan Sittler NP advised that we could freeze one and see how it heals before proceeding with the rest as they could scar, which I do scar pretty easily. Trusting him that he knew what a skin tag looked like, he froze a mole that I've had my entire life that was clearly darker in tone and was obviously a mole. As a supposed expert in dermatology I would have expected him to know the clear difference! If he could not be trusted for a small procedure like this, I would not recommend him or this practice to anyone. Wrong site surgery/procedures are a major liability. When I noticed the wrong site had been frozen and brought it up to the front staff before leaving, they referred me to a medical assistant who wasn't even the one who helped me previously during the appointment. She had bright red hair, false lashes and filled lips (didn't get her name). She was rude and tried to brush off my issue as if it wasn't a big deal. For a medical assistant who cares about how she looks, I would have expected her to have the same compassion for clients. I told her very blatantly that my problem wasn't the healing process of the mole, my problem was the mole was froze off which is not what I came for or consented to. She hurriedly told me to wait in the waiting room, came back and told me the doctor will call me later, which I do not expect. If a surgeon amputated the wrong leg are they going to just tell you, tough luck, leave and the doctor will follow up with you via phone call? Or an excision on the wrong mole, give you a dx that is non cancerous yet the one he was supposed to biopsy was cancerous and left on the skin? No. This was handled very unprofessionally. On top of all this, they never answer their phones and you will have to wait months for an appointment and you could possibly leave with the wrong site and/or procedure done. False advertising. Their website lists my insurance as a provider, however, I'm being billed as out-of-network. After two subsequent billings and followup phone calls, it turns out that some doctors are in-network and some are not. They SHOULD (their words) have scheduled me with an in-network doctor, but did not. They're sorry, but I'm still being billed as out-of-network. Great job. I won't be returning. read more

I had 2 small cysts removed at Vivida Dermatology. Easy breezy procedure...... supposedly!!! They were almost invisible, but I knew they were there and I had them removed ! They came back! And they are gigantic !! absolutely impossible to Hyde! My insurance approved the procedure to remove them again. Vivida Dermatology asked me to pay more than $1500. I was in shock , treated like an idiot by the front desk, and left the clinic with my problem unresolved. I am now going to have it done elsewhere ! Bad experience. When I arrived for my scheduled annual appointment, the receptionist told me that the doctor no longer works there, having left in November of last year. She then told me the front office would have called me. We confirmed she had my phone number correct. I told her I never received that call. (In fact, attached is the appointment reminder I got the day before my "canceled" appointment). What was more frustrating was that her tone was as if it was my fault and her attitude was that she could careless. Just very matter of fact, too bad for me. I asked if someone else could see me since it was a 25 minute drive each way for me. She said they have not been able to hire any doctors since November and that they only have physician assistants and their schedule was booked solid. Her only solution was to reschedule to another day. When I reiterated that this is disappointing, she (clearly annoyed that I didn't just reschedule) tells me let me ask the physician assistant and walked away. She was gone for 4-5 minutes and essentially said they will jam me in. No thanks. I just left. As a business owner myself, I understand employees leaving, rehiring problems, scheduling issues, etc. But, there is no excuse for a bad attitude in business. No excuse for not ensuring the customer gets the notice of cancellation. No excuse for sending an appointment confirmation the day before a canceled appointment. read more

Top notch place - wide open waiting area, with friendly girls at the front desk. They are definitely going for a high end vibe. Rooms were average sized, but clean and had large TVs mounted to the wall (as did the waiting area). I didn't wait long at all, maybe 10 minutes, as the medical assistants were constantly calling in the patients, to at least get them in the room. From there, I talked about my concerns, and then a few minutes later the dermatologist came in. She was very kind and easy to talk to, but like most doctors, it's hard to explain your history and concerns - especially if it's a new doctor - because they're more interested in assessing the issue than listening to what you previous/current methods of treatment are. While that has its benefits - doctors needs to review the issues from their own standpoint, not another doctor - I wish she had taken into consideration that I know my body, I know how it has responded to treatment for years. That should ALSO be a factor in my treatment and not ONLY what she prefers to do. I have keloids and cysts/HS. In NY/NJ, I have always treated them by injections, to flatten the bumps and eventually they would go away entirely, within a few weeks/month. However, she said she didn't want to do that, didn't explain why, and even when I tried to explain my concerns again and push for what I KNOW works for me (had these issues on/off for 20 years), she talked about medication, but didn't give me a prescription. Only gave me information and a coupon for an OTC body wash. I was pretty disappointed that she didn't listen to me or my concerns, or offer any real treatment. I know the brands of body washes and have used one of them before. I don't think paying $60 for a co-pay just for a coupon for $10 body wash is beneficial at all. AND of course, 1-2 days after the cyst/HS issue I had, it flared up! It had become swollen, a hard red bump that was painful. If it had been injected immediately, it could have been prevented. It took several months before it finally went away, and that was AFTER I went to a different dermatologist. I think for some patients, this office will work for their needs. But for me, I won't be going back. It's too expensive, even with insurance, not to have any help whatsoever. read more

Went in multiple times after being cleared to have an appointment for Accutane and was dismissed because it wasn't the correct time frame. Tried to switch my appointment to a video appointment because we had to move last minute out of state due to family death and they were unable to respond within a week of missing my calls and leaving a call back number. I asked for a refund because I was never seen for my appointment and they said it takes two weeks through mail because the refund wasn't issued the same day. My family of five has been a loyal customer of Vivida for years, visiting it's various locations for various skin checks, and issues that arise. We have had encounters with great doctors and staff like Dr. Brett, Dr. Hawkes, Dr. Farley and the best Nasslyne, APRN! Dr. Pretzlaff was amazing too, but no longer around. We have traveled from Sunset, to Flamingo locations over the years and have had excellent care. The doctors are friendly with warm personalities that we recommend. Well, today, I had to take an appointment with Dr. Buffington at the Henderson location. I had a skin issue come up on my back. While I was waiting in the room, a woman walked into the room, whom I assumed was an office assistant in black dress. Similar to my previous appts. to ask me a few questions about the visit. After telling her why I was there, she asked to see my back. My first response was to ask her if she was a doctor as I would have to lift my top to show her the problem area? It just felt strange, unprofessional as I she didn't introduce herself as a nurse or even her name, like by saying I'm nurse such and such. So I was put off by the request. My simple questioning seemed to set the tone of how I would be treated. She agitatedly said, "No, I'm a nurse." So, I proceeded to show her my concern, but she was cold and walked out to get the doctor. Dr. Buffington was just as cold and direct when she entered. She said why are you here today? I proceeded to tell her the reason, and she asked to see. She said she only saw a scratch and it wasn't an issue, she felt I had a scratched a bump, not a mole. I asked her what I had felt below, she said it was also a bump. She used a medical term, not bump. I asked her if she could please look over my back area for any issues, and she responded, "you were here in October for a skin check already." She didn't want to look me over on my back, clearly annoyed with me. I told her it looked like some more moles appeared. She said I don't see anything quickly, so I turned around and she just stared at me. So, I asked if she could look at the side of my nose where a spot had grown. She said it was a ketosis. My previous visit I was told a sun spot. She wasn't going to explain anything, just a blank stare again. I don't know what a ketosis is, and why I shouldn't be concerned. Oh, let me go home and google! Why did I even go to this appointment. I should have held out for Nasslyne, the APRN who wasn't available for two more weeks! The meeting took 5 minutes, and I was dismissed coldly. I was so confused by the energy in the room, that I was trying to over compensate with friendliness for their coldness. I took the time to sit and wait 40 minutes to meet the doctor. Paid the $60 deductible because I have a legitimate concern, at least give me an additional 5 minutes to talk about my skin. This doctor and her nurse are not of Vivida standards I am accustom to better service. DO NOT go to Buffington. I hate that I even took the time to complain on YELP, but we all deserve better treatment. read more
