Had a follow up appointment early last week and was prescribed acne medication, however, the pharmacy needs a prior authorization from the doctor stating why this RX is needed. I called the dermatologist office last Thursday and spoke to Prescott in their pharmacy department. I asked if he could send a prior authorization. The next day I called back to see if it had gone through and was advised that he thought the pharmacy would send the dermatologist office the prior authorization paperwork to fill out. I advised them no, that this office would need to fill it out. Prescott said he would call me back once the authorization was approved. I got a call back yesterday from Prescott asking if my address had changed to which I said no, it's the address for the insurance. He said he would put in the authorization yesterday and call me back. I called the office again today at 1:32 pm and left a message asking about this prior authorization paperwork. Again, the doctors and PAs are amazing, but there really is a disconnect in the back office. read more

Oh man, when I show more aging signs I'm going to see if Dr. Vegas can do all my work to keep me young!! My husband was actually the patient in this location, but I was able to see the entire process and interaction between staff, doctor and him. We showed up on time for our appointment, got seen quickly and also left after meeting with the doctor in about 10 minutes. His staff was great from beginning to end and Dr. Vegas' is very zen like demeanor and open arms into assisting reassures us and make us feel like we have a a great dermatologist. I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical because I notice the office has soo many of the accomplishments, services, swags for display/sale in the waiting area, but when I did meet Dr. Greenberg- he and his staff are so caring. My husband needed just a refill on some dandruff shampoo, and also a special shampoo he purchases from the office, which is why we had to schedule in the first place. (Insurance and referrals, and appointments and out of pocket costs type of thing.) We figured it would be a quick appointment- which wasn't too crazy because who likes to be at docs offices forever? His assistant took us in the room and assisted us, then she brought the doctor back. He asked what had changed if anything since my husband's last visit, and gave him the shampoo prescription he needed, and also recommended a hand cream to try and tackle his extremely dry hands. Then full of serenity and asked if there was anything else that he needed help with, or anything that was concerning. I really loved being able to go into the office and meeting the doctor and his staff. I appreciated being in and out quickly and him remembering what he had prescribed before and after, and also the simplicity of the process. Las Vegas Dermatology is top-notch. I booked my first appointment here over the phone with Norah, who was very polite and friendly. I had a different appointment in the area, and so I showed up to check in an hour or so more than when I was expected to arrive just to see if perhaps they could squeeze me in sooner. If not, no biggie! :) They were kind enough to push me up sooner to get seen by Dr. Cotter. Amazing. The waiting room was very clean. The two receptionists up front were very nice. I don't remember the name of the lady who called me back to ask me questions before seeing the doctor, but she was also nice. The room I was seen in was organized and very clean. My experience with Dr. Cotter was amazing. He was attentive, personable, and friendly. He keeps it real, too! That is a quality I look for when it comes to someone treating me, so that means a lot. I see Dr. McLeod at this clinic and wouldn't see anyone else anyWHERE else! He is above and beyond any physician I have been blessed to have as my go-to for skin issues. He never is in a rush to get me on my way but instead, takes time with me to explain in detail whatever is going on. In fact, recently he found something that my now EX-primary should have but didn't. He not only thoroughly explained to me my lab report, but gave me the name of another fabulous Doctor - Ronald Kohn - who specializes in this particular issue, among others. Not happy - I made an apt over two weeks ago with Dr. Cotter, and I was called today and told my appointment is being cancelled because he is no longer taking new clients. I was referred by my facial, laser, and filler gal, and I was excited because I have an existing spot that was precancerous that was removed, and now the spot has come back. To top it off, the office girl who called me had no sympathy and was rude. What is it with these office girls who have attitudes. read more

This practice is the worst at communication. I have been a patient for a few years, and I just called to set up an appointment, because my pharmacy said the doctor was requiring me to come into the office for an appointment before the would renew my prescription for a medication that I take once every two months, and it is due in 10 days. So I called, and was informed that they stopped honoring my insurance in August. They never informed me of any change, and now, I will be without my medication until I can find a new doctor and go through the process all over again. Completely unprofessional behavior from this practice. If you go to them, don't expect them to communicate with you, and assume that they will not take your needs into consideration. read more

I highly recommend Las Vegas Dermatology both Dr Greenberg and Dr Cotter are both really good dermatologist. I have been going to Dr Greenberg for many years and he has diagnosed and treated all my skin conditions successfully. Dr Cotter my daughter sees for her acne and he has done an excellent job treating my daughters acne. The front desk always does a good job booking appointments and getting you in right away and the wait times aren't bad at all. LV Dermatology has amazing doctors and staff! I initially made an appointment with PA-C Joe Gurule for some concerns about rosacea. He was very polite and knowledgeable. He listened to my concerns without writing me off, which I highly appreciated. In addition to my rosacea concerns, I wanted to finally address some acne scarring that has bothered me since my teenage years. I made an appointment with aesthetician Melissa to try microneedling. Melissa and her assistant Maria are so sweet. I did my facial with Melissa, and during the healing process the following week, I had more questions. I contacted the office and spoke to Maria, who asked that I send over some photos of the concern in question. Later that day, Melissa called me back and explained that my concerns are valid, and made me feel at ease. I really appreciated that she took time out of her day to call me back. She spoke to me for about 10 minutes while I bombarded her with a bunch of secondary questions I had. After more research, I was able to find out that LV Dermatology offers other procedures that the doctors can perform to address acne scarring. I decided to make a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Cotter and get his professional opinion about what he thinks will be the best treatment plan for me, not only for the acne scars, but also for my rosacea. I brought my mom to the appointment with me, and we were both so pleased with Dr. Cotter and his assistant. Dr. Cotter was so nice and patient with me. I've had bad experiences with doctors in the past that try to rush you out of the office and don't really listen to your concerns. I asked tons of questions and he thoughtfully answered every single one of them. He examined my skin and explained which procedures he thinks would work best for me, and explained how the process will go. After leaving the consultation, I booked an appointment to do the procedure, which will be in a few weeks. I am so far very pleased with LV Dermatology, and I am so excited to start my skincare journey with Dr. Cotter! I trust Dr. Cotter to treat me and can't wait to see my results! Where do I start? I only wish I'd found this doctor first for a devastating skin condition on my face, that was destroying my life. I was so self conscious to go out in public, because I looked so bad. My 18 month search for a COMPETENT dermatologist, finally ended with Dr. Greenberg. He knew immediately what was happening with my skin. Unlike the previous 6 dermatologists, ALL more concerned with the cosmetic aspect of their practice, Dr. Greenberg successfully treated me and actually WANTED to see my photos of the progression of the skin condition I'd had for so long. Ended up here because of my son and eczema over four years ago, ended up bringing my whole family over. My review today is about a hidden treasure inside Las Vegas Dermatology, Dr. Sarah Bovenberg. Had my first MOHS done today. I was a nervous wreck because who wants to have surgery on their face under topical sedation right? I didn't feel a thing. Nothing. Zip. Negative zero pain. I've never had stitches before. From the numbing, to the cutting, to the stitching, I felt -nothing- She explained each step as she was about to do it, explained the whole process at the beginning. The office as a whole has very competent clinicians and assistants but also consistently awesome bedside manner and really make you feel at ease. The whole practice is a very holistic blend of medically necessary and elective skin procedures. I've begun referring to it as a dermatology spa or a dermatology studio vs. a dermatology practice. I wouldn't trust my skin to anyone else. Went in because my husband noticed a bump on my temple and Dr. Cotter did a 30-second glance over my skin and found something else on my arm that I've probably looked at hundreds of times and never caught my attention. Both were basal cell carcinoma. One down, one to go. Was excited when I learned Dr. Bovenberg is also going to do my arm excision. You hear don't go to the dermatologist to close up your MOHS, get a plastic surgeon, but MOHS surgeons are at least as good and probably better than plastic surgeons at stitching up a MOHS. I wouldn't trust my skin to any other other practice. From the receptionists to the assistants to the clinicians and physicians, there's isn't anything skin-related Las Vegas Dermatology can't do. read more

My child's appointment was at 345pm so we came in at 330pm. They didn't get us into a room till 430pm. I started getting upset when I started seeing the waiting room clear and other people who had gotten there after us get seen already. When I brought it up to the lady up front it seemed they forgot our file and we were seen right away, after I had said something. No apology, just said they were busy or short staffed. Very unprofessional. We finally got into our appointment which took 5 minutes and finally left. We would've been out of there sooner if we weren't left in the waiting room for an hour! read more

Update: 1/10/20 I was correct. I got my 2nd opinion thank goodness. It's much much more serious than this guy said ("it's a rash"). NOOOOO! This is the 2nd time I've been referred to Greenberg after I'd asked not to be referred to him after the first time. To him, everything is a rash, even Purpura, which is actually a sign of other problems as most medical professionals know. He tried to sell me lotion, which would not work btw. It was over the counter. He tried this last time. It's 3 times more expensive than CVS or Walgreens. I've asked my PCP to stop referring anyone to him. 1.5 minutes in the exam room. Before he got through the door "It's a rash." Oy. My wife has been suffering with a rash on both ankles and periodically her back breaks out. This has been a problem for about 1 year. She had seen our primary care physician and 2 different dermatologist. Each Doctor prescribed prescription medication which relived the itching but none of the medications eliminated the rash. One recommendation was to take a medication by injection but we decided against it. !0 years ago my wife was treated by Dr Greenberg at Las Vegas Dermatology for a totally unrelated problem. Recently she made an appointment. After the first visit and a thorough exam he recommended an over the counter cream named Bioderma. After 2 weeks of use on the back and ankles the rash and itching disappeared and remains gone. Sure wish we had thought of seeing Dr. Greenberg much earlier. He certainly had better insight to this problem then the other Doctors. read more

Diet made my acne worse, so I did see improvement after cutting dairy, gluten, coffee, alcohol, But I still struggled w my skin. I thought it was hormonal because no diet or essential oil would help me 100%. I had tried out other dermatologists in town that were awful and pill pushers for oral antibiotics and Accutane. I finally found my current Dermatologist, Dr. Greenberg, Las Vegas Dermatology, I told him the first day at the office visit, that I did not want to take any pills, he was so respectful and chill about it, so he prescribed me two topicals: topical clindamycin plegets and I just wipe my face off w them 2x day and a topical cream (Azelic acid gel for 9 months, re-evaluate, and then Soolantra gel for 6 months). The Soolantra gel helps to kill parasites that burrow in the skin... I did this for 6 months my skins rosacea diminished and my texture of my skin improved. My topical medicines have completely cleared me up and kept me clear for a couple years now. I don't use the creams anymore just the clindmycin plegets and my skin is smooth and clear as of today with only an occasional pimple! In most recent times, Dr. Greenberg has improved my red c section scar w his laser! Now the appearance is better. I feel I am in good hands with this Doctor read more

LASER HAIR REMOVAL. OH, AND DID WE FORGET TO MENTION, AND SKIN REMOVAL? I recall the early stages of laser hair removal not being available for African American skin. Several years later there have obviously been some advancements. I already had Doctor Greenberg as my dermatologist who recommended laser hair removal, so I can end the battle of ingrown hairs from shaving, and the dark pigment that soon follows. After watching their laser hair removal video, I saw an African American man whose skin was just glowing after. So I thought if I did it, I would start with my neck. Thank god I didn't do my face! The day of my appointment, the aesthetician gave me the disclaimer that I could be rashy for up to two weeks. There is no mention of MY SKIN BEING BURNT OFF. It definitely wasn't a comfortable experience. Something to the equivalent of brief jabs of a tattoo pen or being snapped by a rubber band, as they describe it. The only saving grace is that it was just three minutes. But when checking out, I started to see the signs that something was not right. First, I smelled like burnt hair (and skin), maybe I would have thought this to be normal and familiar to the staff, but when the girls at the front desk were commenting that they think something is burning in the break room, then I knew something was NOT normal. As I write this, it sounds like something straight out of a sitcom, but it wasn't funny a couple of days after when my burnt skin started to peel away and exposed a pink layer underneath. Maybe someone with fair skin can get away with this being obvious, but not in contrast with my dark skin. By day-2 my neck looked like the beginning of leprosy. Day 3, so much pink was showing it looked like I had vitiligo. I called and scheduled an emergency appointment, only to have Dr. Greenberg try to play it down, that this is normal, and everyone's skin reacts differently. Knowing my skin, it would've taken two weeks to heel, and the severely burned areas with pink exposed would then be spotty dark marks, only to repeat this process again six weeks out. Are you crazy? Like someone wants to walk around looking busted up to 9 treatments. RIDICULOUS. Maybe if Dr. Greenberg was in the room the day of the procedure to determine what settings the machine should be on, instead of trying to diagnose it from a picture taken by the aesthetician while multitasking, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Who knows. I asked for a refund and Dr.Greenberg refused and said, I quote, "The damage is already done", so he only gave me back the deposit I had given for the next laser appointment. That will be my last attempt at hair removal. I am MORTIFIED and have completely lost respect for how this was handled and Doctor Greenberg's casual attitude of their negligence. Along with NO RESPECT, comes NO TRUST in Dr. Greenberg and Las Vegas Dermatology to manage my skincare. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! Proceed with caution. 8/24/21 IN RESPONSE TO DR. GREENBERG'S JUSTIFICATION BELOW - Yes, you did have a consultation with the aesthetician, however, you chose to pick out my setting based on a picture she took with a digital camera, which by the way, I didn't see a flash. If you don't know, African American skin in photography requires a specific kind of lighting compared to fair skin. So with that being said, and taking into consideration any shadow from my chin, you based your setting on this picture, instead of coming in the room to see my skin tone. And don't try to claim you remember my skin tone from in-person six months prior. And the nerve that you think I don't know the difference from skin discoloration to actually having my skinned BURNT OFF. Shame on you trying to justify and compare this reaction to switching from straight razor to electric razor or epilating to waxing. Well, guess what Doctor? I've done all of those, and the most I've gotten was razor bumps. Which makes it more insulting that you think I'm that stupid. Well, I'm not. And you, sir, should concentrate more on making sure your client's settings are done in person instead of phoning it in. read more

Today is my fourth visits to see Dr. Greenberg. He is an excellent dermatologist with lots of experience and knowledge at his field. I suffer skin issue several years ago. After I moved to LV seven months ago, the symptoms became more seriously. All my previous dermatologists, only prescribed me with steroid medicines. After so many times of using steroids, it developed many side effort to my skin and not even working. But Dr Greenberg prescribed me non-steroids to my skin, with just one visit, his treatment works effectively to me. I highly recommend him. He is very friendly and patient too. My journey with skin care has been long and oftentimes frustrating. I have acne prone skin and have recently been dealing with some allergic reactions from topical medications. Over the last several years, I have visited many dermatologist offices in the Las Vegas area. I believe I have finally found a Dermatologist that I trust here at Las Vegas Dermatology. In my previous experience (at other offices), I have been made to feel like my concerns (over certain medications/treatments) were not being taken into consideration and just felt like I wasn't being heard. That is not the case with Dr. Greenberg. Today, I had my second visit with Dr. Greenberg and I have to say that this is the first time I walk out feeling like I am truly in good hands. -- It's only taken about 6 years of trial and error-- Dr. Greenberg is welcoming, professional, gracious, and surprisingly very understanding. I was taken back by my visit today. He listens to my concerns and not only provides me with answers but he gives me options. To feel like your being taken care of is one thing but realizing that your care provider is going above and beyond is another. So much so that I felt the need to write this review almost right away.
