    Crumbles not sliced
    Michael G.

Lions choice is my favorite fast food, the only I regularly get (double king beef fits my macros perfectly). This is the worst LC location in my experience. Staff is much nicer than they used to be and no longer get orders wrong a lot, but quality can be mixed. Not sure if this an oven or user error. Still get it at least 1x/month, but the beef is often overcooked and sometimes is just crumbles.

From CA and stopped in this place is sooo legit!! The staff and cook were so friendly. Definitely a return for us

Lion's Choice is a St. Louis-based chain restaurant. They are a lot like Arby's but with better roast beef sandwiches. This location is clean and the staff are friendly. Our meals arrived very quickly. The roast beef sandwich included in the kid's meal is tiny. We thought it was a joke. So, I gave my oldest child a large roast beef sandwich which he finished. I think he may have grown out of kid's meals. The hot dog and chicken strips included in the other kid's meals came in large portions. The quality of the food is much better than other chain restaurants. They had so much food that they had trouble finishing it. (More for me.) The ice cream treat included in the kid's meals is that little reminder that Lion's Choice is a great restaurant chain. The attention to details like that and the sauces will keep me coming back for a long time.

I always feel bad leaving a less then stellar review but on multiple occasions this place has been not the best experience. I have been multiple times now and the food is always good enough, but it always takes a minute or two for someone to even come up to the register to take an order (it might be easier to just order online if I ever go again). When we came in it took a few minutes for someone to come to the register and there was an employee with their head down in the dining area- understanding they may have been on break I didn't think of anything till they took a drive through order on a headset from the dining area- Once we got our order taken we got the food pretty quickly. Overall I know that this location used to have a lot better service and experience which is to bad because I grew up on lions choice as a kid and loved it! I would recommend maybe just having screens people can order on if their staff is not going to be available to take orders- this may save money on staffing and make the experience better.

Traditional sandwich meal. Just under $10.

Lion's Choice used to be my go to fast food, but ever since Covid it has gone downhill. We decided to give it another try. I ordered the traditional roast beef sandwich, fries, and a drink. Almost $10. Yikes! I wouldn't mind so much if it was a big sandwich, but the sandwich seemed much smaller than it used to be. It even seemed like it's a different, smaller bun now. The sandwich and fries were tasty. I like their seasoning salt that they add on their sandwiches and fries. They do serve it differently. Now they put it on a tray with a checkered paper. I like that idea because it reduces waste in the landfill. They no longer have their Ajou sauce out in front where you can get it yourself. We had to ask for it. The server was very nice and actually brought it to our table. The only problem with it was it was cold. Not really worth dipping your warm sandwich in cold Ajou. They did have good music playing. It was very upbeat and gave it good ambience for a fast food. We still always get an ice cream there. Not too many years ago. It was only a dollar now it is three dollars plus for one small cone. Not quite worth adding seven dollars to our dinner. Especially when Ted Drews is right up the street. I'm not sure why lions choice has raised the cost of ice cream so much. it used to be the best ice cream but the last time I got it, it was really gritty. This would have been a five star rating. If the portion size were a little bit larger, the Ajou was not cold, and they would put their ice cream cones under two dollars. I usually also get a baked potato instead of fries, but they were out of them. We got there around 6:15 PM so I guess we should've gotten there earlier.

This roast beef was way too minced

I love lions choice. Do not come to this location!!!!! The fries are over done and DRENCHED in rotting grease. My sisters sandwich was almost raw. Her bun was wet???? Both of our buns are practically white from not being cooked. They gave us what seemed like an xs fry for a LARGE meal. Extremely unsatisfied with the food from here. What a waste of money! :(((((

Just stopped in for a beef sandwich and it's all fat and gristle, inedible. The dog just spit it out.

Go in on the Byrd and Barrel side of Tamm Ave Bar and place your order at the counter, get a table number and find a seat in one of the rooms. You can order drinks from the bar, but I just had water. I usually go for the Nugz but this time wanted to stay away from fried options so I got the STL salad, minus cheese and the summer sandwich also without cheese, cause I am a weirdo about cheese. We sat in the next room over at a high-top table. Our food was delivered in a timely manner by a friendly server. The STL salad was great, lots of peppadews, tomatoes, and onion. The dressing was just right, not too much and had a bright, vinegary flavor. The sandwich came on a brioche bun and it was so soft! I was happy with the sandwich, the chicken was cooked perfectly, and the avocado ranch was good. Great for a late Sunday lunch, quick and easy with good service and great food!

I was pretty hungry so I got a small Caesar and some chicken nuggets. The Caesar was good but unfortunately had too much dressing! Also, it tasted more ranch like than Caesar, but the croutons were good! As for the nuggets, wow! They blew me away by how fresh they were. Everything about them tasted so good! If I had known they would be that large, I would have prepared myself. They're pretty filling, so I was only able to eat a few. Overall, I enjoyed the nuggets more than the salad and next time, I want to try the Brussel sprouts.

It's an old-looking sandwich joint on the Hill. Very little wall space visible due to the Berra and family tributes. Seems like the kind of place that should smell faintly of cigarettes decades after anyone smoked in the building, but it's actually clean and cool. The communication could have been better. Upcharge for my choice of bread. No prices are provided on the menu. Sandwiches, sides, and a drink for 2 people for $35 was much more than we anticipated. I wouldn't mind returning, but my wallet would have something to say about it. This is at least somewhat the fault of inflation... but with prices not posted in the restaurant, I wonder whether the prices vary. Maybe we paid a higher price as we attended the day of the house tour. Maybe not.

The staff were friendly and very accommodating to adding or removing ingredients from sandwiches. I had Joes Italian Kicker with the homemade artichoke salad. The artichoke salad was so good. The dressing was sweet but not overly so. I am not a fan of sweet Italian so for me to actually like this item kind of amazed me but it truly was good. I did not get the tomato sauce on my sandwich, and it was far from what I had convinced myself it was supposed to be lol. I am not a fan of brats and sausages and such but I do like salami. I convinced myself that it was going to be sliced garlic and red wine salami and well that wasn't what I got but I do like to try different things so I wasn't disappointed. The sausage was amazing. So flavorful and enjoyable... again a surprise because as I said, I am not a fan of this type of sausage. Now the giardeneria, it is delicious but it says hot for a reason. It was a little too hot for me but once I removed a bit I could grab little bites with my sandwich and it was less of a mouth burning experience. The cheese and cheese garlic bread the sandwich comes with is absolutely a flavor bonus. overall this was a great meal and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Now my dining partner got meatballs and pasta salad. While she wasn't a fan of the meatballs to the point where she raves, she did say they were good just not great! However she did very much like the pasta salad. She only wished there had been less black olives. Lastly, we did ask for to go boxes for our salad Because the portion was extremely generous and we couldn't eat all of either... we started to get up to go get the containers and a staff member saw us rising and took care of getting the containers for us which was very sweet. I would like to say that a lidded bowl would be better for salads because all the dressing leaked out of the styrofoam box but that was really the only disappointment.

The storefront: the direct out front, small parking lot was packed and people were going into the gated lot to find parking.
