Horrible. This was by far the worst fast food that we've ever had. We ordered a King Roast Beef Sandwich and a Regular Roast Beef Sandwich. The King size was no bigger than the regular size and we were still charged the King size price. The beef was a tasteless mess of shredded up meat which was cold and tasted horrendous. The fries were tasteless and cold stubs of potatoes. Arby's food is 50 times better. Also, this place is way overpriced for the amount of food that you get. We had to go eat more food at another restaurant because the portion was so measly. Service at this location was efficient, but the staff was not very friendly. I do not recommend this place unless you want to take a dog there to eat. read more

I'm cheating and carrying over a review from a previous location (Downtown LC, RIP), but as this is the next closest location, it deserves and receives equal love. Order a "roast beef with swiss and extra seasoning", say thank you if it's still pink, top it with horseradish sauce, dunk it in some au jus, and feast upon your perfect roast beef sandwich. If want to be different, you can skip the cheese, and order it "well done" if the pink scares you, and add other sauces from the condiment bar (but don't you dare put ketchup on it, you heathen). To please everyone, they even serve turkey, ham, salads, and other lunchy things... which are all fine too, but the roast beef is what makes this place noteworthy. read more

I work with a lot of people who are STL transplants. Whenever I ask one of them, 'Have you ever been to Lion's Choice?' they seem to always display a perplexed look and say something to the extent of, 'I don't even know what that is.' While this place is a bit of a hike from work downtown, I get so much joy taking colleagues here for their first Lion's Choice experience. Lion's Choice is an institution for St Louisians. Listen, this isn't overhyped like Provel cheese - it's really high quality, tasty, roast beef sandwiches. The amazing part too - it's actually one of the more healthy fast food places you'll find! There's no need to re-invent the wheel here. Get a large roast beef on a hoagie - good with swiss but honestly I prefer mine without cheese and go for the honey mustard instead. The beef is fresh, well seasoned and cooked perfectly medium most every time. This roast beef is sliced in front of your eyes - it isn't brown mystery meat like you'll find at Arby's - it is delicious pure roast beef. What compliments my sandwich so well? Their fries are great but they have some awesome sauces for dipping or for the beef also. They keep chipotle ranch cold behind the counter so definitely ask for some. The horseradish is good also. But my favorite sauce? The honey mustard. This stuff is so great, I find myself dipping most of my fries in it and spreading some of my sandwich. Seriously good!!! I always feel like the service is top notch at any lion's choice I've ever been too and this is no exception. The employees probably get a deep discount on delicious roast beef which keeps a grin across their faces at all time. That or they're so full they can only smile and bask in utter happiness. If you're from STL, you probably already love this place. If you aren't or you've never been, don't be embarrassed - just go! You'll make a frowny face at the sight of Arby's after you try this beef - so good!!! read more

Lion's Choice is for sure the best roast beef in Saint Louis. For those who don't know you can order your sandwhich with extra seasoning - the best and only way to go! I personally love this location because the staff is so happy! They also always give my dogs little pieces of roast beef in a cup. Not sure if they are susposed to do that, and I hope I don't get anyone in trouble. But I always drive a bit further to this one! read more

Lion choice has closed on the il side. So,it has been a long time. I forgot how great they are. This one is very clean as well! I really like the medium, to if you are lucky medium rare beef. It is much better than Arbys. I also like the au jus better here as well. It is not as salty. They also have a baked potato option. I put the au jus on the potatoes. read more

At this point, Lion's Choice is as much an institution in the STL area as is their sports teams. This location is always serving ace roast beef sandwiches and fries are always perfectly cooked - golden and crispy without any browning. If you're feeling good about yourself, get a french dip sandwich and just go nuts. The only thing i don't recommend is adding provel cheese - the swiss is good, but the provel is just... well, I grew up in St. Louis and I still don't think this flavor meshes well with the delicious, juicy meat. Service is friendly, the dining area is appropriately sized and clean, and the food is always hot and fresh. What more do you need for a $7 lunch? read more

This place was good. I had the ham and cheese and I thought the ham lacked flavor. I tried some of my fiance's roast beef, though, and it was good. The fries were also good. I really liked some of the sauces. The horseradish sauce was particularly good. The honey mustard was also good. read more

It's a bit like Arby's which is actually a positive (I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been recently dragged to Arby's). Watch out for their veggie sticks. Everything about Lions Choice is awesome! They have great whole wheat buns, just ask for them! They have a really great flavor. Their roast beef makes Arby's taste like rubber and will be served to you medium rare or well done. Just ask! Oh, and their fries are amazing. Oh! I recently went through the drive-through and when I got home and tried to eat my dinner it was just nasty. The beef smelled nasty and tasted even nastier! Now I did call and complain and they are going to completely redo my order the next time I come in for free, but putting out product like that it's pretty disgusting. I just came from the one Lion's Choice on Chippewa near Ted Drews. We went and order through the Drive Thru, order the King Sandwiches and afterwards we got our order we took off to eat our meal in the T. Drewes parking lot thinking afterwards we can order sundaes. Once I bit into my sandwich I noticed the bun was cold and so was the meat, bit into it again and turned on the dome light( this was night time) for a inspection and noticed the beef was raw..I mean cold and raw. So I drove back and the lady said we need to ask while ordering, next time, for medium rare or medium. I held my tongue and wanted to tell her is 'raw' on the menu too? So, I said 'I see, well can I get a refund, then?' and she brought the manager and we did get our refund. This place sucked and please go to Arby's next time..but its really sad that us American's can't just keep our lazy asses at home and cook..but no we like take out and restaurants. Do we ever consider what goes on behind the scene in the kitchen. Its making me sick just thinking about it. On one good note: My Dr. Pepper was delicious. read more

Whenver my travels bring me to St. Louis I always stop by Lion's Choice at least once (if not two or three times) for their roast beef. Simply put, it's delicious and Arby's doesn't even come close. I'm not a big fan of cheese sauce, so I just stick to the classic roast beef with lots of horseradish. It's roast beef heaven! read more

I went to Lion's Choice on Dunn Rd near W. Florissant. To me their roastbeef is ok. Their prices or a little on the high side,4 roastbeef sandwiches & a cup of chili was $14.57. The sandwiches taste ok nothing special,I haven't tried the extra seasons,but I will next time. What really bugs me about this store is that they close the inside dining around 4pm and only the drive thru is open until 10:30pm.I keep asking why and no one will give me a definitive answer. The Drive thru attendant was incredibly short with me. I took my sick girlfriend to get something on her stomach because everything else was closed by 9 Pm. So we pull in an hour before close, I recite her portion of the order, and before I've even finished I get "IS THAT ALL?", I say no, then I begin to order my food and again "IS THAT ALL?" I was cut off three times before I had finished my order, there were no long pauses, just rudeness. I wasn't able to order my meat cooked well because of this. I went to pay and they said "We don't take American Express" I say "Oh," and ask my girlfriend for her card, no sooner than my girlfriend says yes and the girl is gone. I waited another 5 minutes to pay. We love Lions Choice, but my girlfriend is telling me she's dealt with bad customer service from this location multiple times. read more

From out of state so wanted to try the local haunts, and after reading the reviews, decided why not. Seriously the roast beef is sliced right in front of you and is super rare and more importantly, delicious!!! Like best I've had in ages. And the au jus was perfect. Very good roast beef, but they loose a star because of the small size of their sandwiches. Especially for the price. Really good French fries as well. Comparison to Arbys (which happens to be right next door): smaller sandwich, but better quality meat; more sauce choices and tastier French fries. Unless you are extra hungry Lions Choice is the better place to go. read more

This place is good if you consistently like well done roast beef with no flavor. My roast beef sandwich literally tasted like it was warmed up in the microwave. If you want lions choice- do yourself a favor and drive the distance to Brentwood or Sunset Hills. read more

Literally the best fast food chain I have ever been to. The roast best and French fries are outstanding. 10 times better than Arby's.

King Beef or French Dip sandwich are my favorite. I always asking for meat to be rear as possible and I am getting that.
