I LOVE MTJTT! When I go, I get tri tip and/or the brisket by the 1/2 pound. Both have perfect…read moretexture, great flavor. The smoke ring on the tri tip and the bark on the brisket are impressive. And it's never dry, like some smoked meat can be. For those mentioning price, they're cheaper than their competitors, for a better product. If you go buy a tri tip to cook at home, it'll be around $30 for one roast. Brisket is even higher. Then consider the process to smoke it can take half a day or more. MTJTT isn't cheap, but it's not a rip off. It's a fair price for what you're getting. The location is good, close to everything in the city, but off on a side street, so it's more peaceful without having to drive forever to get there. I've been there a couple times now on triple-digit days, and there's always a nice comfortable breeze in the covered area. I hope they catch on, and expand. I'm a huge fan!

So it was a big disappointment today when driving over half an hour to get bad bbq. Starting with the good, the hamburger patties were the best meat in the meal. Followed by the tritip which was on the Mac and cheese. The brisket on the burger was really dry. It needed bbq sauce to get down. The ribs looked like they were cremated. I know some people dig "bark." But there was more bark than meat and the ribs were tough. The potato salad was pretty bland. And the Mac and cheese was as well. Even tge bbq sauce seemed plain. It was just a bad experience for as much as we spent. Maybe if they were closer id try again. But at between the distance and price, we won't be back.

The Molcajete was the standout dish of the night. It arrived sizzling hot and loaded with perfectly cooked meats, seafood, fresh vegetables, and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. It was hearty, flavorful, and easily one of the best Molcajetes I've had. The mussels were another favorite. Honestly, everything tasted like it came straight out of someone's mother's kitchen--in the best way possible. The food had that homemade, comforting quality that's hard to find these days. The portions were generous, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that cozy, family-owned feel that makes you want to come back again.

As soon as we looked over the menu, my mouth was already watering. We ordered the aguachiles verdes, the molcajete supreme, and I added a side of fries. When I say the food came out fast, I mean FAST, especially for food this fresh. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and checked in just enough without being overbearing. The aguachile was honestly one of the best I've had. The green sauce was incredibly flavorful, perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and vibrant. The molcajete supreme did not disappoint. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the portion of carne and shrimp was generous and very satisfying. You can tell care goes into the food here. And somehow, even the fries were amazing .... crispy, hot, and the perfect side. If you're passing through on your way to Yosemite, this place is absolutely worth the stop. We'll definitely be back.

Road-trip rule #1: Never head to Disney without proper fuel…read more Road-trip rule #2: That fuel should be THESE breakfast bagel sandwiches. We stopped here before a weekend Disney run and wow... these bagel sandwiches had no business being this good. Fresh, hot, stacked like they were built by an architect, and somehow handed to us faster than I can say "we're gonna be late." The employees? Ridiculously nice. Like "are you sure this is real life?" nice. Courteous, friendly, and moving with the speed and precision of a NASCAR pit crew--yet every sandwich comes out looking like it's ready for its Instagram close-up. From the outside, it's a humble little hole-in-the-wall. Inside? Spotless. Cleaner than my kitchen on the one day a year I try to impress guests. You can tell this family doesn't just care about the food--they care about everything. Pride is baked into the walls... and the bagels. Bonus points for overhearing the owner casually chatting with locals about his shift ending and then coming back later that night to make more donuts and bagels like some kind of carb-loving superhero. Absolute legend. Every bite slapped. Every vibe checked. Top-notch spot. If you live nearby, go. If you're driving by, detour. If you don't stop here... honestly, that's on you.
