The burger was okay but definitely overcooked and not very juicy. It was missing some flavor. The garlic fries were probably the best thing we ordered. The hibiscus lemonade was decent, and the mocktail we got was actually really good. As for the service, some of the staff were really nice and welcoming, but I did feel a little uncomfortable toward the end. When I asked if I could pay with cash instead of card, I got the impression that the person seating us assumed I was going to leave a tip and seemed disappointed when I clarified that I was just paying cash. I also felt like some of the servers were giving us an attitude afterward because we didn't tip. Overall, tipping is a personal choice, and I don't think customers should feel judged or pressured because of it. Some of the staff were genuinely kind, but unfortunately the food and the experience weren't enough for me to want to come back.

It was 3pm, 1 hour before zoo closing we went into the Safari Cafe, it was clean, a bit dim, it gave rainforest vibes with natural light entering from the ceiling. There were different areas and many options. I ordered the cheese burger which came with fries, my husband wanted lasagna and for dessert we ordered a chocolate cheesecake. Everything was served and given to us at the time or ordering. Seems like the things we ordered were premade/store bought/frozen nothing was fresh/made to order. Which was quite disappointing to see at first glance. The burger meat was pretty good but the bun was too thick, cold and dry I ended up eating the burger without the bun would have been nice it they toasted. The fries were warm but had too much salt. The lasagna was literally a slice for $16 and it tasted frozen the chocolate pie was a small slice for little over $7. The canned drinks were about $5 each. The workers that served us was very kind. They comped our lasagna which was generous of them because if I have know the size for the price we probably wouldn't have ordered it in the first place. We are members so we also got 10% off our order. Plenty of seating overseeing the Safari which was quite relaxing. Overall, I thought service was great but food wise it was over priced for mediocre food. Glad to have tried it after coming to the zoo so often I've been so curious to try but probably not going to buy again.

While there was a substantial amount of food, one bite is all it took to upset my stomach and kill my appetite. To sell drinks, but not offer lids or straws is unreasonable for outdoor eating. Definitely recommend d eating before you come or packing something to go! The view was nice when you sit there as well.

I ordered the **BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger**, and while the presentation wasn't the most impressive, it does come with an onion ring, which is a nice touch. It's not my favorite burger on the menu, but it's still very good. I'd give it an **8/10**. The **Monster Burger** is where it's at, though! This is easily a **9/10** and one of those burgers you really can't go wrong with. The portion size, quality, and price are all excellent, and I especially love that it comes with two different types of cheese. Definitely one of the best options here. We also ordered the **Southwestern Salad**, which was really good. I would recommend asking for extra dressing because it could definitely use a little more. Overall, I'd give the salad an **8/10**. The **fries are always a 10/10**. The side portion is huge and easily enough to share, which makes it an even better value. The drinks are good as well. The **service is always top-notch**. They treat you like family, and the food comes out quickly. I also like that the restaurant has both a traditional service side, where tipping is optional, and a self-service side where you find your own table and pick up your food, so tipping isn't necessary. The **ambiance is one of the best things about this place**. If you're a sports fan, you'll love it. There's tons of sports memorabilia throughout the restaurant and plenty of TVs showing different games. It's a great place to hang out, grab some food, and watch sports. Being right across the street from Fresno State is also a huge plus. The only real downside is the **parking**. They definitely need to find a way to increase the amount of parking because it can be difficult to find a spot. Overall, this is a great place with **good food, generous portions, reasonable prices, excellent service, and an unbeatable sports atmosphere**. Definitely worth checking out!

The one time we have clearly overcooked meat that tastes like horse the manager completely dismissed my 72-yo mother in a very rude way. I guess selling "1000s of sandwiches today with zero complaints" is good enough to completely dismiss us. What likely happened was they saved the overcooked meat till the end of the day (we went 20 minutes before closing) and we were the schmucks that got it. What really pissed me off though is that the manager had veins popping out of his neck. The way he was talking to my elderly mother was inappropriate. Thankfully he cooled down when I walked up to the conversation. All she wanted was to replace our 4 tritip sandwiches with another. Whoever the manager was needs some serious customer service training and needs to learn how to speak to people.

I've been a few times, and I remember going for the first time about 9 years ago. I remember peering off of Herndon and what a cute red building that looks awfully busy and had a gravel parking lot. Back then it felt very hard to eat here, you had to get here early before the lot filled which obviously means the food is good. Today we were met with kind service and were immediately sat in the out door seating. Which we didn't mind because it was fresh. All the staff members were incredibly kind to me, and I really appreciated the nice compliments and overall vibe this establishment offers Breakfast menu is both American and Mexican inspired which is a plus for this bilingual gal, We stared off with a Mermaid Mimosa for the birthday boy and a Bloody Mary for me. Red Apple gets straight to business as I'd say their drinks are worth the price as they are poured well. I'm a Benedict girl, I went ahead and ordered the smoked salmon Benedict which came with some flavor potatoes. The bene was 10/10 I felt I could really taste a high quality salmon and the egg was perfectly poached. Birthday boy ate the Country fried steak at my recommendation. Pared with potatoes and pancakes. It's safe to say the plates were left cleared. Overall I've never been disappointed here and I'm happy to say my guest enjoyed it for their first time as well. There's a reason that parking lot stays busy

Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and stayed fresh even after picking it up and bringing it back to our room, as we were in town for the weekend. I'll definitely be back to experience the atmosphere inside and have another go-round at the menu.

The food is consistently good, and the staff has always been friendly and professional. If you're going, the pizza is GREAT! It has been our favorite thing on the menu and is definitely worth ordering. The tacos, on the other hand, have been just okay. If you're specifically craving tacos, I'd recommend heading next door instead. The biggest downside has been the wait time. During our last visit, we weren't told there would be a significant delay until after we had already sat down and placed our order. It took about 18 minutes just to receive water and place our order, then another 45 minutes before our pizza arrived. We asked if an appetizer would come out much sooner, so we ordered onion rings, but they only arrived about five minutes before the pizza. It would have been appreciated if we had been given an estimated wait time when we were first seated so we could have decided whether to stay. That said, the staff remained kind and professional throughout the experience. The dining room itself wasn't particularly busy, so I assume the kitchen was handling a high volume of takeout and delivery orders. Since it was a weekend, that's understandable, but it's something to keep in mind. Overall, we still enjoy eating here and will definitely be back, just plan for a potentially long wait some visits!

It's a Chinese buffet. I found A-Star buffet on my Yelp and got here using my GPS. It's not just off the freeway, so we had to go in town a little ways. It's located on East Kings Canyon Road by a big Asian supermarket. This place looks like one of the bigger buffets with a bigger selection of foods including sushi and all the Chinese food and a Mongolian grill thingy. They even have American food id you really don't want Chinese, like onion rings, chicken wing and French fries. I think there was pizza too. We get seated and we all know the drill, just go up and get food. Plates are available and the server takes our drink orders. I saw some more "authentic" foods out, even chicken feet, as well as the normal American Chinese stuff, like chow mein, veggies and all the different deep fried meat candy stuff. Seafood was out like snow crab, oysters and mussels. I skipped the sushi, but it actually looked better than most buffet sushi. Everybody was happy and full and it didn't take 1 1/2 hours like some sit down and order place. I may need some coffee to stay awake the rest of the evening.
