I have been here a handful of times and feel this is a fair assessment based on all of my visits. The establishment is cozy with limited seating. The mural artwork on the wall is definitely a vibe. Food can be ordered at the counter and all of the service staff I have interacted with have all been pleasant. I have tried their korean corn dogs, which are pretty good, I like that they offer an assortment of ingredients to make your own. I have ordered their prepackaged chicken and sticky rice a couple of times, which is usually pretty good. Although during my recent visit the chicken was good and moist. I was lucky to find this place while scrolling for a good lunch place in Madera, and this is one gem you won't want to miss! The sign outside advertises the place as having Korean & Japanese comfort foods. My friends and I visited in on a Tuesday afternoon, and there was only two other people in the dining room. Upon walking in, we were met with kind service in a timely manner, and the worker offered to answer any questions that may arise. They also have Hot-N-Ready meals such a chicken with sticky rice next to the register if you're looking for a quick meal to-go. The main dish that drew me to this restaurant was their chicken katsu sando. I haven't heard of any other places in the area with something like that, and it did not disappoint The toast of the chicken katsu sando is wonderfully crunchy and pairs nicely with the cucumber salad. It also comes with a side of spicy kewpie mayo, but it's definitely drenched in enough of the katsu & teriyaki sauces on its own. If you're just in the mood for a light lunch, I would definitely recommend splitting the sandwich with someone else, as it comes in a pretty big portion. We also tried the Biscoff croffle, a delicate combination of two of the best pastries. They make the croffles fresh in store, so you can expect a warm, cozy treat that exudes Biscoff goodness. Yelp to the rescue once again! Had thought about checking Kanojo out in a previous trip but didn't make it, a colleague did and liked it. So decided to go for lunch. One word- delicious! Great hidden gem in Madera! I have come here several times now and I have not been disappointed with the quality. I've ordered during their lunch rush and always received my food promptly. I love the prints on the wall and how welcoming the workers are when you arrive. I've had the chicken katsu bowl, curry bowl, and egg sando which were excellent. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but my coworkers enjoy the croffle as they describe it as fluffy and warm. If your coming off the 99 or need a quick bite I recommend this place. read more

Off the hook, Madera! It is outstanding. I've never eaten food like this. They call them K-dogs. You pick a batter and a filling. They look like corn dogs. If you like district fair food...omg... The Elote Style corndog with hot link was very tasty. It is a lot larger than I thought it would be. The sunomono salad was flavorful and the perfect appetizer. Love Kanojo's. Small place, sort of hard to get a table but they do takeout and have excellent food and drink variety. Would recommend the egg sando or the hot link, hot cheeto corndogs they do. That said, have tried most of the menu and everything is worth it. Rice runs a bit dry if you seal it up and take it with you, and katsu just isn't made for takeout (gets soggy), but nothing a bit of soy/katsu sauce doesn't fix. read more

A Tofu Katsu Curry Bowl which had no breading on the tofu, was lacking in salt, and the curry had a texture of sandy gravy (and we love curry normally). We thought the Croffle would be the saving grace... it wasn't :(. It was so tough that we had a hard time cutting through it to share it. My buddy had the pork Katsu; I had the chicken. Seemed like a long wait (15 minutes +)... but my sandwich was excellent, ingredients very evenly distributed & balanced for moisture & crunch. Discovered this spot through Good Eats Drew. We ordered three meals, cream sodas, and a sweet treat. The kdogs are unique and filling - not to be fooled as a side dish. The croffle was the a perfect dessert and is definitely my new guilty pleasure. Both people working were friendly (and assuming the chef is the owner). He asked how our food was as we were eating. Two of us had the chicken katsu sando and it was really good! I visited last Friday evening the 11th and I asked for extra teriyaki sauce and I couldn't tell if the chicken was dry?
