So yummy! We were leaving Fresno going back to SF. Worth the stop! We got the Breakfast Burrito with chorizo, it had beans, potatoes, bell peppers, eggs, and so much more. It was made perfectly not greasy and so filling I ate half of it. Also I got the Zucchini Pupusa, Delicious! Everything was hot and fresh and clean. Okay, I'm Salvi and Fresno/Kerman area is majority Mexican so it's hard to find a really good purseria. Came here on a whim, super hungry and my oh my, this place absolutely did not disappoint. We got pupusas revueltas, queso and frijoles con queso. I ate 3 and wanted to get 2 more but since we all know that over eating too much of a good thing ruins our figured, lol jk, I did choose not to be a hog. Service was great! Food came out fairly quickly. I'm used to waiting 30 minutes or longer in the Bay Area. Ours were out in less than 15 minutes. I believe this place is fairly new so inside was just simple and quiet. The absolute best breakfast burritos! As soon as my husband and I walked in we were greeted with smiles and a warm "Goodmorning" we ordered and the food was made immediately after using their fresh meat which they offer for sale as well. I ordered a chorizo burrito which had beans, potatoes, cheese, chorizo, and some fresh peppers. We ordered salsa verde with our food and it was some of the best salsa I've had from a breakfast restaurant! The food was delicious and what made it even better was the service! I came to Emma's Taqueria with my Madera Native co worker as it's our thing to try out places around Madera for fun and just chill out. The co worker informed me that this is like her favorite Taco place and usually calls it in and goes. This place is definitely a hole in the wall which makes this place grand as they focus on the quality of the food. The menu is posted on the wall and since I am such a taco lover I opted for their chicken tacos and uno pastor. I was able to order my food without using my broken Spanish which was nice. The place smelled delicious and they also sell meats as pictured. There is NO A/C so the co worker reported that it gets very hot in the establishment when the Tripple digits occur. The staff was very friendly and nice. Our food came out at a decent rate and I was so ready to dig in when my food came. The co worker got a torta and I got the tacos. The taco shells were homemade and bomb! I couldn't eat so many!!!! They were delicious. The chicken tacos with the orangish reddish sauce was delicious. The meat was well seasoned and even crispy. The Al Pastor was delicious and very yummy. I will definitely come back. This place is hidden between houses and definitely bends in with the surroundings. If you haven't tried Emma's you have to! It is very delicious and I enjoyed my time there. They also have TVs inside. My taco Tuesday cravings were satisfied. read more

Their tacos and pupusas are so good! I especially loved the lengua and camarones, asada was delicious as well. My favorite pupusas we're bean and queso. When you order takeout they plate things together so it's super easy to serve. They have a meat counter and we picked up a pound of chorizo, great price and quality! read more

Delicious food and wonderful service. We arrived around 2pm after lunch. We had 4 pupusas, an al pastor burrito, an al pastor empanada and 2 aquas frescas. Everything was fresh and made to order. The empanada came with cheese inside and was topped with sour cream, cotija, lettuce, and tomato. The empanada was freshly made and absolutely delucious!! The pupasas were also made to order, so they were super hot and fresh. The cortido was fresh, crispy, and spicy! All of the meats were delicious. We had a Tamarindo and an horchata aqua Fresca, both were super tasty and refreshing. We can hardly wait to return!! Small family owned and run place. Great service from the owners to their kids. Food was exquisite. I had Pupusas and so did others in my group. Only drawback was the curtido was a bit too spicy. Others had other foods and no-one complained. The Agua de Jamaica was tasty and included actual pieces of the Jamaica that gave it a great taste. I'll for sure be back when in the area. read more

I'm not sure how long this business has been open as a co-worker brought me here for lunch. It looks like a hole in the wall joint from the outside but when you walk in the place is actually very clean and tidy. There are a small handful of tables to sit down at so during a rush take-out would probably be the best option. Most of the menu options are Mexican food, but they do offer empanadas (I believe they are meat empanadas but I am not sure), tamales de elote, and pupusas. I ordered the two pupusas revueltas which are about $3 each. They are the best ones that I have had in a while, they are huge and almost cover the whole plate so with two I was pretty full. The curtido was good, it was actually spicy so I didn't even eat any of the salsa that came with the dish. I will definitely be coming back for more. BTW, if you like fresh corn tortillas, they make them here for all the dishes and tacos and will make you a quesadilla with fresh corn tortilla on request. I didn't order one but my coworker's quesadilla with carne asada looked amazing. read more

We were spending the night in Madera on our way to Yreka. It was dinnertime and we ended up at Emma's as it was the only place open. It was our fourth attempt at finding an open restaurant that wasn't fast food. I ordered the Pastor burrito and my husband got the Carne Asada burrito. We also ordered chips and salsa. They make their own corn tortillas and the chips were fresh out of the fryer. After the first bite I was so happy that we ended up here. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The food was delicious. The interior is small and nothing fancy but it's comfortable. We will now need to plan our future trips on 99 to include either lunch or dinner in Madera. read more
