Came to Liquid Alchemy with a large group for a birthday and we were welcomed with good service, smiles, and so many good recommendations. The patio in the lot allowed us to sit outside even with a light drizzle, as there was a slightly covered area. Awesome pickled veggies and local ice cream was for sale too. Meads, ciders, and wines for the curious spirit. There's a shop inside of the bar with fun knick knacks, books and home goods. Would definitely come back!

Highly recommend this awesome little spot if you're up for trying something new! We wandered in on a Saturday and found the place to be fairly busy. There's plenty of outdoor seating along the side of the building, and inside they've got a bar as well as multiple barrel-tables set up with barstools. The decor was very unique and adds to the charm --- make sure you take a moment to look around and take in the decorations; BF's favorite was the giant stuffed white tiger with a wiffleball bat. (Similarly, the quirky names for their meads and ciders further suggest a great sense of humor!) We chose to sit at the bar where we were enthusiastically welcomed and offered a menu. We were helped by Jeff, one of the owners/founders, who was very friendly and extremely helpful in guiding our first adventure into mead. We were eager to try both the cider and the mead, and he encouraged us to try flights of each separately to really appreciate the flavors (which turned out to be a great recommendation). He guided us through our selection of meads for our flight, offering detailed descriptions of the meads and helping us to taste in an order that made sense. We wound up trying their Sweet Nothing (the basic, honey-forward mead), Red Cowabunga (cherry vanilla), O4 (billed as "orange juice for adults"), Black-302 (blackberry), Overly Hoptimistic (which is carbonated and reminiscent of beer thanks to the hops), and the Red-White-and-Blue (cranberry, coconut, and blueberry). They were sweet and delicious; I'd say the O4 and Black-302 were the highlights for me. After that, we switched gears to try their ciders. We did a flight of four, opting to try their Light Cide(r) (apples with honey, for a very tasty standard hard cider), Pineapple Experiment 13 (cider with a hint of pineapple), Magenta Dragon (a delicious, gorgeous light pink cider with dragonfruit, mango, and mint), and their anniversary barrel-aged Deeply Rooted (a flavorful cider with hints of root beer/birch beer that almost tasted like apple bourbon). I really enjoyed their ciders and wound up going home with a growler. I appreciated their option of a mini-growler, which feels like a more manageable amount to finish within the week. I really enjoyed our drinks and appreciated how the bartenders all made us feel like one of the regulars --- greeting us with smiles and making sure we were well- cared for. We also learned that Liquid Alchemy is making its way into more and more liquor stores, including Total Wine recently, so keep an eye out and consider supporting this local gem.

Liquid Alchemy is a hidden gem in Wilmington! Amazing products with a ton of great small-batch/seasonal cider & mead options, so there's always something new to try! Everyone from the owners to the staff to the regulars are super friendly, and the atmosphere is top-notch!

Great little spot. Ciders were delicious and found out everything is made on site. Even had a birch beer cider. The meads were interesting We ended up buying a bottle of 302 mead. No food menu buy different food vendors on site. The night we went was a mac and cheese vendor. Definitely would return to try sample the rest of the menu. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They even encourage people to bring their own food which I thought is great. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely will return.

Come one, come all. LAB serves libation lovers of all kinds. Visited this place a few years ago when it first opened and have been back a several times since. Drinks are creative and always changing based on seasonal trends. The brew masters here are pure genius. There's an enormous outside seating area that caters well to Covid precautions, but there's inside seating too. The environment is fun and eclectic. LAB gets bonus points for the large collection of games you can play while drinking. Whether it's your first time and twentieth, the staff treat you like family.

Great COVID precautions. Felt very comfortable and outdoor dining options were optimal. Incredibly responsive staff. Covered outdoor dining with heat lamps.

LAB was amazing! Such a cool little spot, with even cooler owners. Jeff and Terry were so kind, and very knowledgeable about the history of mead. Jeff gave us a tour of their brewing rooms and I learned quite a bit! We got flights of all of the mead and all of the cider. I must say, all were delightful. However, a few of my favorites that really stuck out were Red Cowabunga mead, Pucker Up Baby mead, and Deeply Rooted cider! While there, they have free small snacks at the bar (bowls of pretzels, samples of Double Spiral chocolate -- which, by the way, were delicious), and they have food trucks that park outside where you can buy food if you fancy yourself something heartier. LAB also sells Woodside ice-cream! I really love how invested they are in other local businesses. Overall, a 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back! Bravo (:

This place is awesome! I am really bummed that I couldn't spend longer here. I had the Red, White, and blue mead and it was amazing!! Tons of outside seating. The owner is super cool. Very cool vibe here!!

    Nice tasty selections!

They have a great selection of Mead and cider's. I really enjoyed their siders! I love the inside of the location but the outside is a little sketchy. I really enjoyed their calendar of activities.

I wish I could say I was excited after dining there for the first time but I have to say I was left somewhat disappointed. I can overlook most things, but when dining out i go for the food. And the food was just OK. We started out with cocktails. Two of us ordered from the unique signature cocktail menu and one of us just decided to have their usual Kir Royale. Of these three drinks, the Kir Royale was the best. Neither of the others thought that their drink was so great that they would order it again. A young man showed up at our table with three small dishes, asking, "Are you familiar with amuse bouche"? Yes I am. I don't need an 18 or year old to try to make me feel like he knows more than I do. It was condescending at best and just pretentious. He explained it was compressed cantaloupe with a mint oil and a touch of salt. If I had closed my eyes, I never in a million years would have tasted anything except a little bit of salt and a little bit of water. It was flavorless. For appetizers, we shared the snails, the rabbit poutine, and the foie gras. Both the snails and the poutine came with a sauce, and the servers almost insisted on pouring the sauce over the appetizer. One of us opted to stop the server because why would you bring it on the side and then not let me elect how I want it on there. That just did not make sense. There's no theater here you're just pouring. The snails were served in a vol-au-vent and were kind of lost in the too tall puff pastry. Both the snails and the poutine were lacking some serious flavor. The best bite of the appetizers was the piece of foie gras which was served on a comparatively mammoth-sized sleepy zucchini bread and with pickled local strawberries. I didn't care for the combination and for the price, the two bite piece of foie gras was not worth it. (understand you can drive 3 miles to a restaurant that puts more of it on a burger for that equivalent price.-plus you get an 8 oz burger). The pickled strawberry did not work either. We also order the "bread service." I don't like paying for bread but was intrigued by the bone marrow butter upsell. For $20 you get 5 slices of bread, some salted butter, and at most a tablespoon of bone marrow butter. Skip it. Not worth it. For entrées, we ordered the salmon and the duck for two. The salmon was supposed to be seared, but the presentation side looked more like it had been steamed or poached. Perhaps they seared the skin side, but this particular diner did not like salmon skin, so that was lost on it. The diner did not like couscous, which was the side that came with this dish so they asked for the pomme puree as a substitute. The potato purée was also lacking seasoning and of course we got charged $8 for the substitution even though this potato purée is a side for other entrées. The server who took our order recommended the duck. I'm a big fan of duck so our other dining partner indulged me and shared this entrée with me. The duck came with two breasts, two confit legs, baby carrots, cooked in duck fat and a frisée salad. This was probably enough for three people because we took home 1/4 of a duck breast, a whole leg and plenty of carrots. The duck breast was well rendered of the fat, and the skin was crispy. I like a medium rare duck breast but the underside was very rare as if it was never flipped in the pan. The leg was delicious (probably tossed in the deep fryer before serving to crisp the skin) but the carrots were heavy with fat. Very little frisée was served (almost as a garnish ) and it really needed more of it that acid from the dressing to lighten things up. Again the server tried to pour the sauce that came with it over the breast without asking if I wanted it first. I stopped them because I know how much I want and I know where I want it. I don't need you to do that for me. One cocktail, one appetizer and one entree per person was $100 per person on average. No tax in DE Service here is amateurish with training. I have already cited a few things. The waitress who took our order poured water for each of us spilling a significant amount when pouring one glass, said I'm sorry I misjudged. Bad depth perception, she said and continued on with her opening spiel which we got to hear in almost the exact same fashion as she greeted other tables. No offering to change the tablecloth of its two foot diameter circle of wetness. She just kept it moving. We came dressed business casual. We were the best dressed there. Lots of shorts and casual wear. This is not a fancy place. People appear to come as they are. I just did not get that I want to come back here feeling. Service was not great. Food was just ok and not ok for the price. Atmosphere is more American bar than French bistro. I am not super charged to go back.

I've had Spanish brews before, but they actually had in stock six to 10 different Spanish Brews and some Brazilian beer. (Makes sense since a Brazilian Steakhouse is connected to the building) The prices were fair and they even had some exclusive Iron Abbey collab beers with local breweries.
