Tonight we brought friends who had never been, and while the atmosphere remained the same, we were disappointed with the food. Liquid Libs is quickly becoming one of my favorite wine bars in the area. The House Wine selection for HH have great selections where most places you get one wine option and one red for Happy Hour. On the happy hour food menu I had a cheese plate and then a meat plate. Lucky I was with a friend and we ordered one of each. I would appreciate if they considered some combo to make a full anti-pasti option. I will be going back soon. read more

I was here for a retirement dinner for a co-worker and while the place was nice the food was disappointing. The calamari appetizer was really good but salty. The main course of the shrimp scampi was inedible with over done shrimp. The chocolate cake was freezer burnt also inedible. The resturant was cold and this experience won't make me to excited to return. read more

Biggest martini I've ever seen!! Great small plate options and they taste even better. I love the wine dispenser option, it's great just to be able to get different glasses of wine at your leisure. On top of choosing different pour amounts. If you have a problem with the service, or food ask for a manager, which will be Nick. He will make you happy, instead of being a key board warrior after the fact! I only had one bad experience out of dozens of visits with a server and I could see she was quickly weeded out. We stumbled onto this place during their restaurant week while on a work trip. I'd give it 3.8 if i could get that technical, it's not a 3 so I'm giving it 4. The special was 4 dishes for 21 bucks. I wasn't really into their plates except for their egg plant with marinara which was pretty yummy. The other stuff the bf liked, he got the brussel sprouts and cheese plate and hummus. I just wanted something warm ya know? It's too pricy for the food though. Drinks are expensive too (11 dollat vodja mix drink) but they're good/well made and not skimped out on. They use agave. Anyways I won't lie i picked this place cause it had good reviews -- but mainly because I thought the pictures of the glowing bar looked fun too. It kinda sold me haha. I enjoyed the music they played, it was all modern hits and wasn't too loud so we could talk to each other. Nice bar tender too. Goofy story: There were some weird people next to us in the bar though I'm actually kind of giggling thinking of it. These fancy pretty ladies were talking about their plastic surgery and boob enhancement procedures with an older dude for a good long while. They were wiggling them all up and around for the old dude. Idk if they were escorts or what lol (I'm not judging here just thinking out loud). They were specially talking about different surgeons. We live less than a mile from Liberatores and Libs Grill in Perry Hall. We frequent them weekly (sometimes multiple times a week). We had an errand to run Saturday night near Liquid Libs and decided to stop in. We went to the wrong bar first (in Liberatores) and the bartender kindly walked us to Liquid Libs. We were impressed. It's a beautiful cool setting with a great atmosphere. Great music playing, games on the TVs, great food, great drinks, great bartenders. Classy vibes, reasonable happy hour prices, and decent service, no wonder this joint was busy on a Monday evening! I stopped in with my boyfriend for some truffle fries and a margherita pizza. We split an order of each and went home satisfied. Neither are anything to brag about, but for a cheap date night they did the trick. Wednesday night was my first time visiting Liquid Lib's and loved it! John you sure now how to do it right. Great atmosphere... love the decor and the food was yummy. It's like this little NY or LA hotspot right in the middle of Timonium. If you are into wines you should check this place out, John, the owner, is usually there to make sure his customers are well taken care of. The place draws a really nice crowd not too young and not too old..i am guessing btw 30-50's. Open 7 days a week and has an incredible selection of wines to drink at the bar or to purchase for home---the wine selection is showcased around the perimeter of the restaurant so that you can purchase your favorite bottles right there. We have been going to liquid libs for many years now for happy hour We always sit at the main bar and up until recently... always had amazing female bartenders. Last night we had , Adam, he was not attentive, I had to go out into the vestibule to get bottles of water because he did not see the five empty water glasses I had asked for separate checks before anyone else got there... but he put three of us on one...so we asked once again .., to separate them We never had this problem with the female bartenders and we always tipped very generously... i used to bartend, waitress and cocktail... and I believe tipping is based on quality of service. I am sure Adam might have been disappointed with my tip... he should feel lucky I gave him anything... his service and attitude were that bad...very disappointed read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a must-see if you are a lover of wines. The location seems strange but it's very nice once you get inside. Delicious martinis- try the apple or raspberry. Reasonably priced tapas which was all delicious. Crab dip was rich and full of lump meat- some of the best I've had, calamari was lightly breaded and tender, tasty lamb chops, yummy veggie pizza, and the hummus and olive spread with pita was also very good. Had a great experience and everything I tried was great. Braised short ribs with potato and carrot stole the show for sure! Enjoyable environment, clean and neat dining area, good food, terrible staffing. I want to preface this by saying my issue is with management. Not the servers. I was coming in to meet some people for a short period of time just before 9PM. The place was on the lower end of "busy". I ordered one drink (Jameson & ginger ale), which took 15 minutes to get. There was only one bartender behind a fully seated bar. Also, I also saw more suits observing the staff than I did servers. The server that was handling our group seemed extremely green and not adequately trained. On top of that, he was dealing with four or five other tables along with our party. My drink was comped, but it took about 10 minutes to find that out. Not because I was being ignored, but because the server I was dealing with was simply overwhelmed. I didn't bother talking to management, because any time I came close to a suit, they turned and walked away before I got the chance to say anything. If you're going to come to this restaurant, call and find out their least busy night first. At least until they get their staffing problem squared away. read more

Came here on a Saturday night at the bar. We love the ambiance of this place for a date night. Everyone seems to always be having a good time and it's a good mix of people. The wine selection is fantastic. We did a wine flight and we're able to try any three wines by the glass for $18. Sounds a little pricey but most of the good wines were around that price anyway so it worked for us. We had some food there and felt it was just okay. The meatballs we're good because the sauce had good flavor. Alone they were dry. The short rib was tender and somewhat tasty. The crab cakes were decent too with a good amount of lump crab meat. We also did dessert which was a small piece of cake that was okay. Overall we weren't impressed with the food but it got the job done. We really were there for the wine and atmosphere anyway. This is a nice place for Happy Hour. They specialize in small plates and tapas. The beet salad is particularly good as are the flatbreads. I've never ordered something I didn't enjoy although I do have my favorites. They have a nice selections of wines and an attractive bar staffed by good bartenders. Bad experience. Went for a group happy hour, which brought about 15 people and about $400 in business to this place but they made the process of closing tabs unnecessarily difficult. They forced everyone onto the same tab and would not let us break up the check. So there were people in the group that had to leave but they couldn't until we closed out the entire tab. We asked the server multiple time for separate checks and even the manager. It's absurd to me that we would bring them business and they would give us such a bad experience. read more

Went back this week. The service was phenomenal! The food has gone down a bit; the Brussels sprouts were so good last time but were made completely different this time and not as good. The short ribs are still awesome but the jus was very runny rather than the thicker sauce it usually is. Do not get the truffle fries! Zero flavor. I've always had an enjoyable time and enjoyed the food quite a lot. When I first started going, I loved sitting at the bar by the open kitchen - the chef was AMAZING and easy to talk to. He was great. Fun to watch cook and he definitely put on a good show for the other people sitting around the kitchen bar. The last time I visited, I was disappointed to see that he wasn't there, but the food was still good. Was a little thrown off by seeing the manager actively drinking wine while working. Fifth time to Liquid Libs and I must say this place is still without a doubt awesome! Atmosphere is relaxing, friendly and inviting. This is a great place to decompress especially after a hard day of the daily grind in the office. Crowd is an attractive and welcoming mix of professionals all with a common interest...wine, good food, good conversation and exceptional attentive-to-your needs service. We sat at the bar this time which is a beautiful thick glass with color changing LED's. Service was as good as a table would be; on-point! The several bartenders Amber, Rob and Brian were at my beck-and-call if we needed anything and provided us with ample information on everything from specials, food choices and wine selection without a missed step. It shows when someone truly enjoys what they do. Food is tasty, fulfilling, and larger than what you would expect, think meatballs and Gringo pizza. Decor is great; friendly, inviting and not over-the-top busy as is the case with some wine bars. We ordered the shaved brussel sprout salad (bacon was super hard, barely any goat cheese), fried oysters (very good!), and empanadas served with pesto sauce (very confusing combination and I didn't want any more after the first bite). Food isn't very creative, and wasn't as described on the menu ("lobster mac and cheese" was penne pasta with alfredo sauce, also ordered a grapefruit "martini" but it was made using tequila and a sugar rim (that's a margarita)). My husband and I wanted to check out Liquid Libs because, frankly, I'm a sucker for wines by the glass and small plates. We had a hard time finding it, because their name is only on the glass doors, but once inside, we could see why people like this place. Granted it was a Friday night, so it was hopping. I started with a Malbec flight, which satisfied my wine tastes. I ordered the arancini, sorry--they call it "rice ball" first and it was delicious. My husband ordered the fried oysters and he said they were some of the best he ever had. We were intent on ordering more tapas, but I couldn't resist trying their Gringo pizza--sausage, pepperoni and FRESH jalapeños. This was probably the best pizza I ever had in Maryland. Their thin crust was top notch -- enough said. We also ordered their shaved brussel sprouts tapas and it was the perfect salad to accompany our meal. I came really close to giving Liquid Libs 5 stars but felt I have to sample more before I give that rating. We will definitely be back. read more
