Pretty good brewery. We stopped in after lunch and split a flight: 1. McCallister's Scotch Ale 4. Imperial Stout 6. Mocha Pastry Stout 10. Darkest Day Chocolate Porter. I liked 4 and 10, while my wife liked 1 and 6. She then enjoyed a 10 ounce of 1, and I had a 10 ounce of 4. Both fairly drinkable. Our daughter had a lovely bottle of IBC cream soda. The service was great, even on a very busy trivia night. Both my husband and I thought the beer (Imperial Stout, IPA, New Zengland IPA) were ok. We have visited a lot of breweries over the years and these beers were pretty middle ground. Someone at our table said their sours are good, so maybe that is where they excel. The trivia night was fun and crowded. Trivia was advertised as Serial Killer Trivia but had a lot of movie questions, which was odd- movies are not serial killer trivia- they are movie trivia, but there was no fee to join in so no loss. Everyone was friendly and having a good time. It was too bad there was no food truck or visible ways of ordering food nearby. We aren't very likely to return. read more

I went in yesterday with my wife for the IPA fest. She paid 15$ for the designated driver entry. The web site event description said she, the driver would have a choice of non alcoholic drinks. When she asked what she could get to drink, she was sent to the bar tender in front. She was then offered a glass of water. She asked what the 15$ was for, if she couldn't get a drink. The bartender told her she paid 10$ not 15, 5$ was a processing fee. WTF! read more

During a recent visit, I was struggling with a crying toddler the entire time we were there. I am not sure why little kids are hanging out in a bar, but they hang out at this one and consequently this is definitely not the place for me. There were also some babies but they were too young to make a big fuss. Call me old fashioned- I don't care. I feel like the bar should be adult time - duh. I constantly hear people saying there should be child-free flights offered, which I do not agree with. Kids belong on planes, but not in drinking establishments. It's a solid brewery with a tap list sufficiently varied to surely please anyone. No regrets on anything I tried, but nothing I'd rave about either. Fast and friendly pours. It's a small, simple space -- not a ton of room to find your own corner or lounge around for a while -- but filling it with long communal tables is a good use. My spouse and I went to Loveland Aleworks last weekend for an event. I'm not a fan of beer but my spouse is and he got us both drinks; he got me a peach pale ale and he got himself the darkest ale they had. I'm sure the ale was good if you like ale and it was good enough I had a few sips but my spouse drank them. Yasssss!!! First time here and so happy we stopped in!! Tons of fun sours!! The PB&J sour tasted exactly like a pb&j sandwich! Their Apple pie and Blackberry Basil spits were also delicious! My wife and I have been here a few times. Our favorite is the Horchata IPA, but they haven't had any for a long while. We were so happy to see they had it on tap again. We purchased several cans of the Horchata and a growler of the Hazy IPA. I also tried the Strawberry Prickly Peat Soar, I don't particularly like sours but I think this one is a winner so I'll give it a try next time we go there. read more

It was def "A-OK" in my little beer-loving heart. ++ The location is great with lots of parking nearby. ++ Love the dog-friendly patio out front; though there wasn't much seating as you'd expect. ++ They offer a fun variety of events. +/- Beers were alright. Nothing remarkable, but definitely solid. -- The taproom space was a little unwelcoming. While I adore exposed brick; everything else just felt very bare. I'm sure I'll make my way back at some point for a post hike brew or two and check out more of Loveland Aleworks offerings. read more

Thoughtful selections, original creations, and decent sample prices; things that make a truly fantastic brewery. We started with a 4 beer taster including a couple of sours for her and the stout and a Scottish ale for me. She found the perfect sour to followup, I ordered a full pint of the ale, and picked up a couple of cans of the stout to go. Having a select rotating sample along with recent creations, plus cans of everything else is a great idea. We also tried one of the frozen sour beers... great for a hot day, but I found the flavors a bit lost in a frozen treat. read more

If you like sour beers, you'll love Aleworks. My sister and I have done a few flights and tasters, especially in the summer, which is really the sour's time to shine! We LOVE Loveland Aleworks!!! It's our happy place whenever we visit the family in Loveland. It's an adorable little brewery, and honestly it's still (in my opinion) the best brewery I have been to so far. The beertenders (Britt, Brenden and Tre) are sweet and funny, and will always chat with you if sit at the bar. It's nice to be around people that love their job! They have a great variety of beers here- but what really stands out are the sour beers. Their original American Sour with Rasberries is one of the best sours I've ever had. It's 8.4% ABV (what?! a sour?!), and is so flavorful and easy to drink. The guava also deserves an honorable mention. So freaking yum. They recently just released a kettle soured golden ale (basically the raspberry without the fruit added). And it's also 8%! The BAMF gose is a barrel aged salted sour, also delicious but more complex (little red wine flavor, can def taste the salt). They do cute promotions too, like wed night a dollar from each pint goes to a local charity. And they have a great rewards program for locals, with great discounts. The slogan (I'm drinking ale today) is on their coasters, and is a quote from Edgar Alan Poe. I mean...what's not to like?!? read more

I wish it was possible to give Loveland Aleworks more than 5 stars. They deserve 1 million stars. Their beer is the best beer I have ever had. I'm big into sour beers and we tried their Strawberry Lemon Bar Sour and it was HANDS DOWN the best beer I have ever had. We are from out of town and I sure wish we would have bought 10 more packs of this to bring home with us. This just gives us an excuse to come back more often. Our best friends live in Loveland and showed us Loveland Aleworks. We came here on a Thursday night for a double date night. This is now my favorite spot in Loveland to come chill & drink some beer. We were one of the last people there and Stephen offered to give us a tour of the brewery. What a cool place and a super nice guy! We ended up purchasing a couple packs of our favorite beers and I wish we would have bought more. I'm saving my last one for a really special moment. The owner, Nick, puts out a consistently clean ale--in a variety of American, English, & Belgian styles. Plus an outstanding selection of sours, their sours have medaled in both the GABF & World Beer Cup! Selections vary, there are 5 'Flagship' ales and 5 'rotating' taps. So most favorites are always available, but there are new brews to try as well. Located in a historic downtown building with a pleasant patio in front. My wife and I first learned about this wonderful brewery through my brother and sister in law, who had brought a can of their Strawberry Lemon Bar to Easter dinner. We always like to experience new beers and breweries when visiting Colorado, and since Loveland was so close to where we were going anyway, it was a no-brainer to swing by and check out what else they had to offer. We were blown away! This place is doing it right - terrific variety of or favorite style, sours, but also plenty of other beers for every taste! Their meat and cheese board was absolutely terrific with the beers we had. I'm sure the tap room gets more raucous than what we witnessed on a Wednesday afternoon, but we were able to enjoy our pours with only the company of the really cool beertender for a while, and enjoyed our conversation with him a lot. Kudos to Zack! This will definitely be a regular stop for us when we are in the area. read more

I've been going to Loveland Aleworks since they opened their doors and really can't say enough great things about them, best brewery in Loveland without a doubt. Beyond the fact that they consistently brew amazing beers that have the great characteristics any beer drinker is seeking, the ownership and staff are tops. Friendly, accommodating, and on-point with customer service and their knowledge of beer. They are also not shy of brewing some BIG BEERS that provide a lot of value for the money. I'm a hophead and their slew of IPAs, Pales, NEIPA, etc. gives me a nice variety to choose from and I haven't met one I didn't really enjoy yet. Overall, I highly recommended this brewery. They'll fill you up with high quality brews and treat you like a friend. Go!! read more

I love a place that gives deals with a Yelp check-in (as near as I can tell, they have been doing this here for over two years). But, even if they did not do that, the beer here is more than solid. This was the third brewery we visited on our Loveland brewery adventure. The Cranberry Sour Ale was much to my liking and I enjoyed the Raspberry Sour Ale even more. The Darkest Day chocolate Coconut Porter was not unlike drinking a candy bar (in a good way). Sitting on the small patio, watching people walk by with their dogs, was a nice way to wind down the afternoon. There was nice energy in the place and the friendly folks seemed to be in a good mood on our visit. read more

As far as Loveland goes, this place is my favorite brewery. Verboten comes in a close second. Grimm comes in third and both Big Beaver and Crow Hop tie for last place. I have reserved my 5th star for this place up until now mainly because I needed to see how this place would develop since I first came here nearly a year ago. Since, I've been here more times than I can remember (weird). I love their Imperial Stout as one of my personal favorites, but recently they've put a few others that really impressed me. You have to try their Belgian Grand Cru, Coconut Porter and their coffee infused Wookie Brown Ale. LOVE each one! For this reason, I felt compelled to write this review update and give them their 5th star. Loveland Aleworks seemed fraught with delays in opening. We are talking about a year in delay actually. This was not their fault. They had to jump through many hoops and some snags on the government level to open. Even on their website it was disclosed that they were already open but in reality were not. I was excited when I heard they finally opened so I jumped at the opportunity to go down and try their beer. Overall I was not all that impressed but I am a beer snob with very high expectations which continues to get more stringent all of the time. Their IPA was fair and the Saison didn't really seem to taste like one to me. The one beer that I left with a positive impression was their English Mild. That is one to try! read more

A solid addition to the front range beer scene. Although not exclusive, I'd say they specialize in sour infused beers, the raspberry sour is an excellent example, they also had some seasonals left over from Valentine's Day. I sampled the chocolate porter, which had a deep and rich chocolate flavor that you only get with using real coco nibs, with a nice hop finish. The dbl and single IPA were also good, but you really have to do something amazing to stand out in the crowded IPA landscape in Co. The brew house is located in downtown Loveland in a nice storefront with a clean and modern layout. The bartender was knowledgeable , personable and took the time to give you insight or background when possible. If you're in the area and have some time I would suggest giving them a shot, there's a lot worse places you could find yourself than on a barstool here. read more
