Unprofessional business practices, she also came off extremely distant and unsympathetic during my office visits, and did not spend much time discussing things with me. She did remove 6 moles (one was stage 1 melanoma) so I am thankful for that, but honestly her staff help (Megan) was the only redeeming quality. Based on her responses to negative reviews, I'm sure she'll try to discredit me, but again - I am leaving this out of a last resort and absolute frustration.

She and her staff are really down to earth and instead of being put off by my sometimes weird sense of humor (having my skin checked for melanomas, ya know, that can make a person kind of nervous, and I respond by joking) laughed and felt comfortable sharing their own hilarious stories with me. Definitely the most positive setting for having moles taken off my skin. I had to have a couple "problem" spots removed and NBD; done and done. I opted to get a mole taken off my face purely for vanity reasons, and a couple months later it's healing beautifullly (I mean, obviously it's healed -- I just mean it's fading out now). I also like that Dr. Gee will do things like remove skin tags for you -- I have a friend who went to a dermatologist who made her feel like an idiot for asking. Skin tags aren't a big deal, but if they bug you, why shouldn't you have them removed? Anyway, this is a place I am happy we found.

This was my first, and last, visit to Westside Dermatology. I had taken my daughter to be seen here…read moreabout 10 years ago and had a good experience. My experience was not. Dr Ramsey Markus was dismissive, brusque, condescending and rushed. I had provided a list of my concerns at the time I booked my appointment, and was prepared to ask all my skin questions and concerns during the visit. Dr Markus dismissed several things I asked him about during exam, including something another doc had told me about a dermatofibroma. His general tone was condescending as if I, without a MD after my name, wouldn't know anything about skin conditions. During my skin check, Dr Markus identified a potential skin cancer and reluctantly performed a biopsy at the time of my visit, per my request - stating his schedule was busy. I understood this, as I booked my appointment in January for first available at the end of April. "Pertinent negatives" section of my visit notes inaccurately stated I had no previous history of skin cancer. I had disclosed when booking my appointment that I had a history of squamous cell skin cancer in 2014. Dr Markus did not specifically offer treatment options for skin tags or milia, as stated in his visit notes. When I asked him about the milia around my eyes, he told me, "some people make milia." Across the board, the visit notes in my file did not reflect what he actually counseled me on, indicating he used canned notes but did not actually verbalize them to me. When I asked about options to treat readiness on the face, Dr Markus gave me a flyer with cosmetic laser treatment options, upon which he circled the options he recommended. He told me there was a shampoo I could use to treat Tinea at home, but didn't provide the name of the product - I had to ask the front desk to get it from the medical assistant as I was checking out. I picked up a brochure on Tinea and Mohs from the treatment room; Dr Markus did not offer them. Appears this dermatologist is quick to offer treatment options that bring in money (cosmetic), but not as quick to share home treatment options or minor procedures (skin tag removal, milia extraction). Biopsy results I viewed in the patient portal were dated 4/29 (4/24 visit). Dr called me on 5/5 (4 business days later) with a positive result of basal cell cancer. He referred me to a Mohs surgery center for treatment. Dr Markus coached me on screening calls when I picked up on his second call. I will not be returning for any elective cosmetic procedures or further skin checks.

After meeting Dr Schvindler, I knew this was the place. For me, I didn't want some sterile Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, I wanted a compassionate, warm place and a doctor who helps Vets, teaches, and specializes on face. So after a few months the day finally arrived! I had a 6am appointment and nervous, no idea how much pain I'll be in afterward, and thought about backing out. But I press forward, comforted by the amazing anesthesiologist whom made me laugh and stayed with me the whole time. After getting on the table, I fell asleep without even noticing I was about to and woke up basically on my way home. My wife putting me to bed I didn't feel tired and in fact felt energetic. The most profound thing is that I didn't even take the strong pain killers at any time afterwards. I felt no pain at any stage ever. Sure the first day is like a really bad cold, and you are super stuffy but each day gets better and in a week you are back to normal. After the first day the gel in your nose disintegrates. Nothing else goes in there. So a month later writing this, yes it will take a while for swelling subside but an amazing experience. I am so thankful for Dr S. If you are on the fence even, book an appointment and come here. I can't believe I suffered so many years with a crooked nose. Night and day

I did a lot of research on doctors and Melissa at the front actually recommended Dr Joe because my ears were pretty hard to fix, and she said he is the absolute best... What I really appreciate about Dr Joe is his realistic expectations and walking me though different options. The tip of my nose and the little hump were my main concern, but I really wanted to fix my ears since I would be under anyway. Let me tell you- these results surpassed my expectations and i cannot thank Dr Joe AND Melissa enough for helping me feel beautiful and secure with myself. 10/10 recommend. The recovery was actually not as bad as i had hyped it to be either, having the nurses be available by text was so nice and greatly appreciated. Side note- the office is great, from the front desk, the financing, doctors and nurses. This was also the first time that i didn't wake up sick from anesthesia.

He was more than generous with his time, patient, and detailed in his recommendations/explanations. Jenny, his receptionist, is also very nice and helpful as are the rest of his staff. At a year post-op my results are exactly what I had envisioned when we spoke about my expected outcome. I could not be happier, and can't recommend him highly enough.

My biggest concern is this: I was considering going back for another shot and went to the website to see what the procedure would be like in a Covid reality, only to discover my picture on the website's before and after gallery. This is 100% dishonest, unethical, and-- frankly-- weird. I am now almost 60,000 dollars in, missed weeks of work and on my 5th boob job. He completely botched me the first time, The incisions looked like a 5 year old did them. My breasts were far apart, He gave me a half moon crest lift on my right breast that was made into a different size than my other areola. I spent years of hating myself, losing my confidence, feeling botched and hearing others call me botched for years. I unfortunately let him work on me again after he botched the first set. Then I had even more uneven huge boobs, that ended up with capsular contracture. I came back to him in tears and he came in and told me that it wasn't his fault, it was mother nature. No remorse what so ever. I finally saved up enough and did enough research to go to someone else, who did a great job, was kind, thorough, and made every step of the way a good experience. I ended up with capsular contracture again because of all the previous damage from mangubat and then we tried using a different type of implant which again I had capsular contracture. So here I am left with huge scars from his "crest lift" scars underneath my armpits, under my boobs, t scars and no confidence because of someone who could care less and would rather get a paycheck. I am now getting my implants removed and will be left learning to love myself again. Dr.Mangubat you should have never done my surgery if you weren't confident in it. You have made such a terrible impact on my life and my confidence. I will never refer you to anyone.

I was fairly happy…read morewith the results of the surgery except that after a week at home with my drains, I began having severe pain and redness. I called and she said to come in. A day later I ended up in so much pain I couldn't walk without tears streaming down my face and nearly blacking out. My mom drove me in to her office and her PA said my drain was loose and that's what was causing the pain so she pulled my drain out and immediately I had a lot of pain relief so I could at least walk okay. I told her I thought it was infected as well but she said no it was just painful because it was loose. When I got home, I called Dr. Peter's that evening because I had inflammation (red and hot area), oain, chills and extreme fatigue. I told her I thought I had an infection. She proceeded to completely dismiss my symptoms and told me I just needed to rest. A day later I ended up in the Emergency Room with my belly swollen and super red and hot. Yes, I had cellulitis and an abscess. The bill for that was $3k (with insurance!) and all I needed was antibiotics. This happened yet AGAIN...a month later. I went in...Yet again she dismissed and said it was fine and that I should go work out! I ended up with yet another one...swollen, hot, painful and feeling crappy. Months later I popped a stitch or something happened (I felt like something tore or popped in my belly when I got sick and was vomiting profusely). Over the next few weeks my belly began to get swollen and then painful then hot again. I went to my regular physician because at that point I had no trust in Dr. Peter's. Not only had she missed two infections but she was dismissive and seemed like she thought I was just being dramatic or wanted attention. Do you know what a pain in the butt it is to take a ferry across the water and spend nearly a whole day plus $65-70 just for one measly appointment when you have 3 kids and pets to care for at home? It has now been 18 months and I keep having recurring infections every few months...My belly button has become deformed and randomly begins bleeding and discharging a creamy fluid every few weeks...it ruins my clothes and is embarrassing. Every single time I have gone in she has told me at the longest. I have begun working with a general surgeon in my area who at least ordered ultrasound and MRI scans and aspirated one of the abscess or lumps I keep getting in my abdominal wall. It turned out to be staph. He thinks my belly button is the cause of it and wants to just remove it. Dr. Peter's says don't do that. It'll eventually get better. I'm torn but At least he has taken steps to get an idea of what has been going on. Dr. Peter's never even mentioned a scan or biopsy or gathered any data to solve my issue. When ever I go in to see her, hoping she'll finally care or come up with something to try to figure this out, She just says I'm fine or prescribes an antibiotic and sends me home. To say that I'm frustrated is beyond an under-statement. The fact that I had so many recurring infections was a factor in losing my job in Sept and it has been a huge stress on my family and me (who are already going through an insane amount of stress)...but there has been no actual effort to figure out what's going on and rectify it.

Saw Dr. Peters for a consultation. She told me I could take a nicotine test between pre-op…read moreappointment and surgery date then wrote something different in the visit notes. When I called to schedule the pre-op, I was informed the office policy is no pre-op or surgery scheduling without a clean nicotine test. True, but she told me during my consultation that I could take the test between surgery scheduling and the pre-op because I told her I know I'll need the hard line motivation of a surgery date to ensure I don't relapse. She and her admin were both condescending and just generally treating me like garbage insinuating that I was just trying to have surgery without quitting nicotine (definitely not the case as I'm not stupid enough to roll the dice on tissue necrosis). She also misquoted me, blatantly lied, and made a racist comment in my visit notes. Apparently, I'm articulate for a black woman! Yay me! Someone should let her know patients can see her notes these days. I decided not to proceed with her for obvious reasons and found there was another surgeon in the same office who is highly skilled at the procedure. I called to schedule a consultation and was spoke to two different people who each contradicted themselves repeatedly. Apparently I can't see any other doctors in the office because they don't "steal patients", but at the same time I need to pass a nicotine test before they let me have a consultation with a different doctor, but at the same time they won't write the lab orders for the test so I need to ask another doctor to order them. All of this to say I've seen quite a few doctors in my lifetime and this experience was far and away the worst healthcare experience I've ever had. Meeting with a doctor to ask for help with such a sensitive issue (breast reduction) puts you in a very vulnerable place. To the find out that doctor was making at least one racist judgement about you during that moment of vulnerability is a truly painful experience.

I would not recommend seeing Dominique for HRT or for any medical care…read more Dominique is not a specialist and is not qualified to treat women who need hormone replacement therapy. What she did to me was damaging, and I am now under the care of two qualified specialists because I needed multiple opinions to understand what was happening to my body as a result of her treatment. When I shared my lab results and treatment history with these doctors, both were appalled. Dominique never established a proper baseline of bloodwork, misdiagnosed my condition, and inserted an excessive amount of testosterone via pellets. My hormone levels ended up significantly worse than when I started, and pellets take a long time to leave the body so the effects are not easily reversible. It has become clear to me that this practice is driven by profit rather than patient care. Being an older woman or being in menopause does not make someone a hormone specialist. I also became increasingly uncomfortable with the constant pressure to purchase additional services that I did not ask for or need such as GLB treatments and lip filler. I am thin and have naturally full lips, yet these were repeatedly pushed on me in a way that felt manipulative and undermining. HRT is serious medical treatment, especially for women in perimenopause who are often vulnerable, emotional, and looking for real help. I trusted her and believed she knew what she was doing. That was a mistake, and I am now dealing with the consequences. I rarely leave reviews like this, but I feel a responsibility to warn other women: this provider is not qualified to manage hormone therapy. Or any other cosmetic procedures for that matter.

A good friend of mine found BoxBar while researching her own venous condition and is already seeing major improvements in her quality of life. I went in with my mom and the staff was great at getting us scheduled back to back since I'm the driver. Our successive appointments are scheduled the same way, and they really care about being accessible. I also have my own slew of rare autoimmune diagnoses, and a couple are comorbid with their own vascular risks / stroke risks so I wanted to get a thorough assessment with some hard data. We're getting all the data. Dr. Derrick was familiar with a lot of nuanced factors and details tied to my diagnoses I've never seen any other doctor outside of rheumatology have any in depth knowledge over.
