The novocaine injections painless at the skilled hands of Dr. Synder! The tooth extraction, in my case, was removed before I even knew it...within a minute or so, for me, this was nothing short of, MIRACULOUS! Forget the adage, 'no pain no gain'! At F.P.A. for me, it's been "NO PAIN, JUST GREAT PERIODONTAL GAIN!" Thank you so very much for the positive and blessed experience at your office Dr. Synder, assistant, and staff! I am still on my journey at F.P.A. however after today I have a deeper understanding from this mornings experience at how brilliantly skilled, and yet how compassionate and understanding Dr. Synder is. Previously: At Frederick Periodontal Associates, I have had the BEST experienced ever for dental and periodontal consultation and care! The office staff is friendly, helpful and exceptionally competent and 'compassionate'! I was treated as if I was a member of thier family, or a close friend. I felt that I actually matter, and was not a number or a dollar sign! I called myself in as an emergency and though I had never been to this practice prior, the practice stayed open to make sure I was seen by the doctor. I also wasn't billed as an emergency patient, that is the definition in action of, The Good Samaritan! Dental, endodontic and periodontal procedures can be quite intimating and downright fearful for many people, myself being one of these people. Upon meeting Dr. Snyder I could feel myself start to relax, which I didn't think I could as I was told by a dentist that I had very real and serious concerns that involves, dental and endodontics. All the procedures I was told I needed performed, NOW, leaving me feeling overwhelmed, the shock hadn't even wore off yet. Having an abscess my check had swelled, I had had a low grade fever and had chills previously as a result of the infection and was concerned for my health. Upon meeting Dr. Snyder, his manner and approach had a positive effect melting away my fears, I was able to start relaxing and could breathe again and felt hopeful! I found out too that I did not need everything performed as I had been previously told I did, and there was NO pressure. Dr. Snyder wrote out a prescription for me too, to address the infection. I am now feeling like me again, healthy and not going to die of sepsis. Upon my next appointment, I had a Maintenance cleaning. The dental hygienist Star was kind, capable and reassuring to me regarding my fear of dental work. I also had the best dental cleaning at F.P.A. I was amazed at how beautiful my teeth looked and felt. This has been the first day that I can honestly say I feel no longer overwhelmed. There are not enough stars that honestly reflect the care they provide. Dr. Snyder, his wife Kathy (who is the practice manager and the brilliant designer of F.P.A's state of the arts practice,) and thier team are the most positive, caring, knowledgeable, kind and gentle health care providers I have ever encountered! I have a severe dental phobia and haven't been to the dentist in about a year and a half, so I…read morehorribly dreaded this appointment. But since the reviews were so good, I decided to give this doctor a go. Dr. Zarrinfar was very kind - I saw him in Ranson and the location was clean and tidy. His colleagues are also very nice. However, Dr. Zarrinfar determined I needed hard plaque removed from my teeth, so I allowed him to do so. This process was some of the worst pain I have ever felt at the dentist, and I can confidently say that he was not gentle with my teeth. It was certainly not a procedure he should have done without novocaine. He also let the pick/tool (ejecting with water) he was using in my mouth get so hot that it burned the skin on my lip, leaving a mark. It took about 4 minutes for it to cool down enough to be useable after how hot it had gotten. Afterward, he told me I would need to come back in 4 weeks to have more plaque removed, as well as get several cavities filled. I told him that what I had just experienced was painful, and that because of my anxiety (specifically around needles), I'd prefer if he would provide nitrous oxide for my next appointment. He told me he would not do that, and simply 'does not accommodate' patients with anxiety. He said he could refer me to a pediatric dentist if I wanted (I am a full adult). Every doctor retains their right to deny care, but I was very upset when I learned I would have to find a new dentist because of where I live being rather desolate. Overall, I could've definitely had a better experience. I am not sure of the reason why Dr. Zarrinfar refuses to provide mild sedation to patients with anxiety, but that will be the reason I don't return. However, if sedation is not something you worry about, I could recommend trying this dentist. The previous good reviews give me hope that the tool/pick error was a mechanical mistake. But not sure.

The old office has no sign that they moved and the staff doesn't know how to give directions. When you fill out the forms in the office, bring your lawyer. You are not required, by law, to give them everything on the form, but they can, and will, refuse treatment if you don't surrender your information to them. There are lots of periodontist in this area, you should choose another.

He took a series of pictures both before and after. He was very gentle and meticulous during the procedure and really calmed my nerves throughout. Their office environment was also very modern, sanitary and orderly. As a professional and periodontist his ratings here should be much higher than what I am seeing. I rated him a 4 out of 5 minus the staff, who weren't the most personable, however at the end of the day I was there to see the doctor not the staff.
