My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Shorrock for decades. Even as our insurance changed, we made sure that she was part of the plan. The doctor is very thorough, caring and friendly. I have always felt that we were in good hands and were sent to ophthalmologists a couple of times for serious issues. Whenever we bought our glasses from them, they were made properly and timely. Many years ago I called Dr. Shorrock, because I had an eye emergency and my current optometrist was not open. I decided ti continue using her, because I feel that she is very thorough, compassionate and knowledgeable. I recently scratched and bruised my cornea and after seeing me, she sent me straight to Rand Eye Institute as an emergency patient. I believe many doctors would not have made this decision as quickly as she did and I am so very grateful for her insight! The doctors at Rand Eye Institute told me that going to them immediately could have helped prevent me from very serious consequences! Her staff was also very accommodating when I showed up with this recent emergency without an appointment. I highly recommend East Side Vision Center! read more

Dr. Shorrock is great. Really a good Optometrist. The current staff, however, leaves a lot to be desired. 5+ years ago the staff in that office was top notch. Now............I just called to reschedule an appt. and ended up cancelling completely after being rudely cut off. I have had lenses too big for the frames which caused the glasses to constantly fall off......which a professional person should have realized when I ordered them. I have had the office tell me certain frames were taking so long because they were on back order.......nope, I called the company. No back order. They just forgot to order them. See some of the other reviews. Ridiculous. Very typical of this area in general these days. Glad we are soon moving out of here. read more

I was examined on November 20 & bought replacement lens. My bill was $800 & was told I would have the lens in two weeks. Called yesterday to ask when I would receive them & was told there was a delivery issue. The person I spoke to "I'm glad u called or we wouldn't know what happened. Last time I go there. I did receive a post card reminder for an appointment from the East Side Vision office. June of 2019, an office staff member called me to remind me it is time to come in and that I have not been in for 2 years. Not true, I was in 1 year ago (2018). We made an appointment for July 7th at 9:30 am. Then, I was called to inform me the Dr. would not be back from vacation and changed my appointment to July 23 at 9:30 am. Once again, I was called, this time: to inform me that my appointment was for 4:30 pm. I said, "no!", so my appointment was rescheduled for Aug. 15th at 9:30 am. Today, (Aug. 14th), I received another call saying they 'do not except my insurance'. Dr. Shorrock is currently listed in my insurance directory, for 2019. When I called my insurance company they informed me Dr. Shorrock stopped being a member of my insurance company in July of 2019. Since 2016, Dr. Shorrock had been my eye doctor. Dr. Shorrock and I have had a good relationship and from my patient point of view, she is wonderful. I don't care for the office staff at this point; not professional. scheduled an appointment for contact lenses , went thru the whole procedure and at the end she said she couldn't write me a prescription without getting my old prescription???? asked for my consent to contact my last doctor and was going to contact me after that. waited two weeks and didn't hear anything. by then my wife's glasses where ready at the same office and i asked her to find out what happened.she got me a new appointment today 9/11 at 10 am and i went there and the lady said i had no appointment, there was no doctor . i explained my wife got the appointment when she picked up her glasses and the lady suddenly remembered that she called me several times and left a message. that's funny since i had no messages from them. The eye doctor was not Dr. Shorrock that did my eye exam, but was very thorough and explained every step. The service for the glasses on the other hand was horrible. There was at least five (5) times I was told that the lens were made incorrect or had a major flaw. It was one delay after another and still no glasses.
