I want to share our experience getting contact lenses from West Broward Eyecare Ass. (Pros and Cons). I would recommend you ask before a WRITTEN FULL ESTIMATE before you accept. I feel they robbed me... First at all, I chose them for the great reviews that they have. But in spite of this our experience wasn't so pleasant. Pros: -At least before my claim I could say they were very nice and attentive. The dr. answer to all out questions very clearly and patiently. Cons... -They don't respect the estimate. I finished over paying ( just for the contacts) ALMOST 200 BUCKS or 400! with the acuve rebate! Our experience: Like I said before the dr. SARA RASEKHI patiently answer all our questions about the treatment to stop myopia in kid and gave the estimate for each one. OrthoKeratology (she told me annual price is 2000 for the first year). My sigth (1200 annual). And we asked also about the drops that delay also the myopia, she told me 340 usd for the annual treatment. Then I ask for the price of the regular contact lenses she told me 600 for the annual supply. I called my husband and I explain him all. He didn't was convinced because anyway she will need the Lasik surgery in case she want it in the future correction. After the dr. SARA RASEKHI was out and brought me a hand written estimate (she kept the sheet). And explain and show me in the notes that the treatment with drops and regular glasses could cost me 960 usd, 600 for the regular lenses (less 120 that my insurance will cover me) and 360 for the drops and the Insight lenses cost 1200 and remarked me that the cost would be almost the same. Thinking in the disappointment of my husband because also he was uncertain if my girl will be really able to adapt to put something in her eyes (she is very difficult to put even medical drops in her eyes). Then I decided just to get the regular glasses and maybe if she adapted to the contact glasses maybe next year we could try the drops. After they take my daughter to teach her how to put and take it out the contacts ( cost. 125 usd ). The lady in the cashier a Latina girl with curly hair. Explain to me (in spanish) that my insurance will cover the 160 usd for the eye exam. That I had to pay 125 usd for the instruction about how to use of contact glasees. Also she told me that my insurance it would cover 120 for the contact lenses and then the next time I'll have to pay 500 usd for the contact lenses (always having in mind that the estimate was annual). Next week my daughter was very excited to received the lenses, the doctor check how was she doing with the ones that se received to try. The dr. ask if we will take some other treatments we said that just the regular....I Now the bad surprise :'( ...When I went to front desk to pay...The lady told me that I have pay 380 for a 3 month supply!!! but if I get the annual will be 1000 (my insurance will cover me 120) then be 880, and that...In my head i was just thinking 360 x 4 will be 1440... 880 is much less than 1440. I was so worried and overwhelmed for the total cost that I don't recall suddenly all that they told me before. I call after to clarify but the lady try all the time to justify the high price, she said that they give the price for just some moths, that's not true...I am pretty sure my English is not perfect but I understand very clearly. Numbers and adding is the same in English and Spanish and I know how to add and subtract (I have a university career in journalism) I know I made the mistake not keeping the sheet with the estimate and without that for they is very easy to say wherever they want. I'm a very honest person, with moral virtues and don't like to lie I'm to old and mature to do that. Acuve give me a reward card because I get the annual supply of 200 but still there are difference of 180 usd between 500 and 680. In spite of the Acuve reward, we and our insurance finished paying 1085 !!!!! -685 I paid for the contact lenses, -125 I I paid for the "instruction" of how to use the contact lenses PLUS -280 bucks that my insurance cover me (160 eye exam, 120 for the contact lenses. If they had respected the price of 500 that they gave me with the Acuve rebate the lenses would have cost 300 instead the 680 (just the contact lenses). That is almost 400 usd more!... Nowadays, we all are having hard times is not fair that other abuse your family budget and take advantage of who you are. Is immoral and dishonest... read more

The office's approach is revenue-oriented... I was not told that an issue-specific eye exam did not include an eye prescription... In a recent eye exam I was not told that I could choose between an eye drop for dilation instead of a machine-diagnosis option until checkout time and was still charged for it... Not a good experience this time. The Doctor is very good! I don't know about the people up front assisting her. Went in for an eye exam for contacts last week in December 2020. Examination was done with my insurance. Ordered glasses and they came in. i was told my contacts would be ordered January 2. I followed up January 3rd just to confirm and be sure that my contact were ordered and coming in. I was told they were ordered and would be available in 3 weeks. I called today, January 20th and was told the person I needed to speak with was at lunch and they would call me back when they returned. No one returned my call. So I called back and spoke to Tamara, I believe. She ask me did I use my insurance and she didn't have any record for an order for my contacts. She said she would have to speak to the Doctor. She didn't say when. But she said I am not showing any record of contacts ordered. I am confused now. She does not seem to understand my frustation. So I called back being very frustrated because I called January 3rd to confirmed that my contact were ordered and now I told there is no record. I am waiting for a call back next Tuesday. read more

However, the quality of our eye appointment yesterday was significantly enhanced by the efforts of Laura, who assisted both my wife and I in selecting frames and lenses for our new glasses. We have both been a patient with Dr. Garmizo for well over 20 years and this was the best experience to date! She was extremely thorough, providing us with a great deal of information and assistance. Went there again for my yearly check up - all went good. Only thing is they ask you it is extra to do dilation of eyes, even though you say no they do it anyway - and try to charge for it. Other than this, the office is nice and clean and the specialists are good. Would I go back? Yes, but be vary of possible costs (ask for estimate before getting things done) read more

My mom and I were looking for a new optometrist and Yelp directed us here. Her need for care was a little more urgent: she needed a new contacts prescription ASAP and West Broward Eye Care delivered. First of all, we were both incredibly impressed with the office. From making the appointment to our first visit, everything was easily and efficiently handled. Unlike most places in South Florida, the office is very technology-friendly. We filled out forms regarding our medical and optical history online prior to our visit, saving us from mountains of forms on appointment day. When the appointment arrived, we were sent an email reminder and a phone reminder ahead of time. They also have free wi-fi in the office, which is a nice perk while you wait! The office staff here is very friendly and helpful, as is the technician who took the preliminary tests. Dr. Rhue herself is very sweet and really listens to her patients. She has a great bedside manner (so rare these days!) and she takes the time to thoroughly explain what's going on and to answer questions. Unlike most doctors who try to get you in and out as quickly as possible, we never felt rushed and all our concerns were addressed. After the initial contact lens prescription and fitting, we had to return again because it turned out that the main issue behind my mom's declining vision was a growing cataract. Dr. Rhue explained the procedure for us, and gave us a referral to SightTrust (another wonderful office!) for the surgery, and has done the followup afterwards. Both my mom and I have been very pleased with her knowledge and care and would recommend her to anyone. Honestly, it's a pleasure dealing with the staff here. I went to to see Dr. Rhue through a friends a referral. the office staff was very friendly, She is a great Doctor she helped me get fitted for contact lenses and when i had challenges with the first pair she got me a different brand that works great for me. she very courteous professional and friendly . Another year with Dr Rhue! Love her and the staff there. This year the doctor did this new thing with contacts...she called it crt? I think! My daughter has very bad eyes. So now she has to wear special contacts just when she sleeps and will be able to see when she wakes up and takes them out! Hope it works. Going back to check how it works next week. My father is a retired optometrist who taught at a college and had tremendous resources and equipment at his disposal. Brianna was the first person I trusted to examine my eyes since my father's retirement. I was so impressed, not only with Brianna's knowledge, but her office has even better equipment than what my father had access to at the college! My profession gives me insight into the types of equipment Ophthalmologists have in their offices; and it is amazing to me that Brianna has equipment that even some ophthalmologists don't have, such as perimeters and OCR's. On top of that, Brianna employs a full-time optician, has an extensive inventory of frames and an excellent staff. Northwest Broward is fortunate to have Brianna. read more

Horrible service. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. first of all they were recommended through a mutual friend. Went got both my husband and my eyes tested. Two of the girls were easy to talk to. However when I went back to pick up my glasses, the lenses were all put in incorrectly. ok I was like it's cool no worries everyone makes mistakes- had them did them over. Spent almost $1500 between me and my husband and yet when my husband brought back his lenses to get fixed after the screwed those up too. I asked to go in after he was through as I had the kids in the car to use the rest room. At first I thought I was seeing doubles as two of the young ladies appeared to be hiding behind the counters. Pretending no one was there. So I stood there and knocked as I really needed to go. One of them finally came to the door to open it. I asked her to allow me to use the rest room quickly As I really needed to go. You know what her response was. OMG mind blown to dust-They had meeting and were closing now and she was sorry but she couldn't allow me to use the rest room. I swear I was goi g to pee myself. She actually was smiling to my face and telling me screw me go piss yourself cause we are closing. Now ...I don't know if I'm all screwed in the head but I would never recommend these people as a matter of fact the service we got was absolutely the worse. today is February 17 2020 at 5:25 pm and I had to do this review as I hope the manager or owner see this and look into how their place in run --who they allow to work for them as that place sucks to the core. If the owners don't give a rats ass / people need to know how they treat their customer. By the way thank god there was an italian restaurant on university drive-they allowed me the curtesy to use their rest room and they didn't force us to buy Any pizza. I paid $ 0 with them. While the doctor was competent and pleasant, the office works like a used car dealership. Upon entrance you are immediately asked for an upsell to a "regular" exam. Every fee seems to be based upon how much they can extract. They claim to accept vision insurance but seem to only use this as a bait and switch tactic to add more fees. Their prices for their products are way more than usual and customary so beware. read more

From my experience every time I've ever gone into this particular office they've been extremely rude and do not care about the customers I purchased glasses from Sister office in Boca I when I brought them into this office they basically didn't care didn't want to help and told me to go where I bought them even though the doctors here own both offices I spent $1,400 on just one of my pairs of glasses 760 out of pocket after insurance and they just really in this office said we have absolutely nothing to do with the everything eyes office in Boca we are completely separate go there then she gave me a smug wave like cya.
