Great service and the food was awesome!! Definitely going back!!!! The restaurant reminds me of when I was growing up.

A friend and I ate at Lisa's Country Kitchen in Jefferson City, TN this past Thursday evening (January 29) around 4:00. After being seated I ordered the Turkey and Dressing Special because I thought it would be a very good "Special" and I thought I would get it fast! It took 25 or so minutes for the meal to arrive and when I got it there was only one 4"x4 x1/16" +/- thick slice of processed Turkey placed on top of the Dressing. Yes, only one bite size of very thin processed Turkey. It is difficult for me to understand how a Turkey Dinner could only have one very small slice of Turkey! The Baked Potato I ordered was small but hot which was a plus. I received a slice of a Loaf of Bread that was advertised as French Toast, and was not warm. I managed to eat the Luke warm barely edible Dressing along with the decent tasting Baked Potato. I kept wishing that I had ordered something else that hopefully would have tasted better but it was now to late for that. The waitress was respectful but robotic like, not too polite at all. The Restaurant had lots of supposed antiques both nailed to the wall and placed in shelving areas, a supposed Cracker Barrel sort of copy. It is my guess that none of the items has been dusted since being nailed to the walls or placed in the shelves. I have to rate this meal experience as the third worst meal that I have ever eaten at a Restaurant! There was asolutely nothing I experienced while at the Restaurant, that was positive! One thing that was strangely surprising was that there were lots of automobiles parked out front and the Restaurant was about 3/4 full! I guess I should have asked the Waitress before ordering my meal: "What do you recommend that I get to eat"? But, since I didn't ask that question and since my meal was terrible I will not be eating at Lisa's Çountry Kitchen again and I sincerely cannot recommend eating there to anyone else! read more

We drove specifically to go there because of recommendation from friends. We got there at 5:30 and closing was at 7:00. One waitress was ready to seat us. Someone else came out and said it would be 40 minutes for food. I suggest getting there before 5:30. Post food stops early so you don't waste a trip with high gas prices. read more

This place is our absolute favorite local restaurant! And I'm picky, so it says alot! We eat here often, the food is always great and we always feel good after eating! So we know it's clean! I love the vintage decor and the cozy atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and the owner Lisa is such a sweet person! My family and I love this place! read more

We were looking for country cooking so Lisa's sounded like it would definitely fit the bill. The parking lot was full on this Friday afternoon at lunchtime. We were greeted fairly quickly and seated at a table. Right away we felt welcomed. Looking around at the country decor was fun and took us down memory lane, as some things reminded us of our younger days while visiting our grandparents. We ordered the 2 piece pork chops dinner, grilled. It came with 2 sides and a choice of bread. We chose the country corn, green beans and added another side of turnips. Our bread choice was cornbread. We both ordered unsweetened tea and it was brewed and great. The food came out in a decent amount of time and we dug in before I took a pic (but I did get one fairly quickly). The grilled pork chops were seasoned just right and very juicy and tender. The corn was nothing to write home about but still good. The green beans and turnips were delicious. The corn bread was just ok and a little dry but I dipped it in the turnip juice and it made it better. We enjoyed our lunch and our server, Sonya, was excellent. read more

Felt like I'd been transported back to 2007 upon seeing the decor. Hostess rude from the jump. Waitress was sweet and accommodating. Took an hour for food to come. A TV dinner would've been better. Only redeemable quality were the hush puppies. Would probably be a good place to go feed your dog. Or maybe not, if you love them. read more

The food is good, the service is okay, ambiance is casual, however there are flies, and it needs a thorough cleaning. Almost no healthy options; most things are battered and fried. I noticed the servers have a negative vibe/attitude. Not sure if this is due to poor management, being overworked, or what, but they really are not friendly. We tried Lisa's for lunch and left full. Our server, Sonya, was fantastic and the food was delicious. My husband had the Chef Salad. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with green beans and added an extra side of fried green tomatoes. We shared a lemon cream cake. Their coffee mug says they've been there since 2005. I've now been to LCK 4 times since coming to Jefferson City. I've had the BBQ, the chicken breast and the chopped steak. I would highly suggest the smothered chicken breast. Don't get the chop steak... you've been warned! My favorite thing about this place is the chill vibe. It feels like eating at a friend's house. The food is good, but not exceptional. Price is very good for the portions. It definitely merits a 5 star rating. It's where I'll take all Jefferson City visitors. For the apps, I HIGHLY suggest the fried pickles. They are thick cut and delicious. A little over breaded, but the pickle flavor was good. Dip it in some mustard and you're in for a treat. The vegetables are ok. They aren't exceptional, but they get the job done. My order of preference is the chicken, the sampler platter, then the chop steak. I wouldn't order the cop steak again, but I'd get the other 2. I was pleasantly surprised when we chose Lisa's Country Kitchen for dinner. It's a small place that looks like a team of grandmothers decorated the interior, which was part of its charm. I ordered grilled shrimp, coleslaw, and okra with cornbread. My friend got the cod, sweet potato casserole, and mac n 'cheese with hush puppies. We also split an appetizer of fried mushrooms. The portions were very generous and the staff there was friendly. The food tasted great and wasn't swimming in grease which is a huge plus. They were attentive to the volume of beverages in our classes and we never had to ask for a refill. I would definitely recommend them for lunch/dinner! read more

I live about 30 minutes away from Lisa's and don't normally get near Lisa's while running my normal shopping however, every time I have driven by, the parking lot is full of vehicles which tells me that it is a good place to eat. I finally got to eat at Lisa's this past week for lunch and I was not disappointed. My wife and I waited awhile to be seated and the place was very busy. Once seated, we reviewed the reasonably priced and diverse menu and had a hard time deciding on what to order. We both ordered the chicken tenders meal and it was fantastic. Very tasty, hot and moist. In addition to sides we ordered a side salad and it was fantastic. My only knock on our visit was the service. I am not sure if our serviceperson was super busy or just not that good but I asked for sweet n' low and had to ask again for it, I asked for ketchup for my fries and had to ask again for it, our rolls came without butter so I had to ask for that. I didn't get the honey I asked for as a condiment for my chicken tenders and had to ask for it again. My iced tea went dry and I had to ask for a refill. I think you get the picture. I will return and see how the service plays out. I just think our waitress was distracted but she was super pleasant. read more

Suggestions: Bibba's Hog Leg - BBQ that falls off the bone, grilled pork chops will melt in your mouth, all things breakfast- I LOVE the pancakes & you can't beat the breakfast steak. Nice parking area. Inside is relatively nice, but a bit too dark. Waitresses are on the spot to take your order, but never come back once the food is served. The food was fair to decent - based on the three items I had. The other person in my party got a basic hamburger and said it was quite overcooked and dry. Note, new prices have been "written in". By no coincidence, items that still have the original prices are reasonable, new prices aren't. Overall this place is fair. It probably stays in business mainly because independent restaurants are rare in this area. Just like nearby Owens and Davy Crockett, they are just a notch above "school lunch". Really good country cooking. Good portions. Only issue is the time to get your food at times when it is around noon. But that also speaks to the fact the place is packed for a good reason. We've eaten here a few times in the course of the last 8 yrs. First meal was breakfast, and it was quite delicious, service was very fast and friendly. Second meal was lunch, and not so delicious, service was below par. Maybe we should have ordered the lunch special. We stayed away for a while after that meal. Another Jefferson City favorite with a lot to offer. The food is delicious and there is a nice variety. They have added a quick food bar I believe but I haven't tried it yet. There really is a Lisa and she's ON-SITE! The decor is yard sale/flea market. Lots of little signs everywhere. Plenty to read and look at while food is prepared. I ordered the grilled catfish with potato salad, corn bread and side salad. The side salad with wilted lettuce and funky tasting cheese went back to the kitchen. It was replaced with fried okra which was hot, fresh and crispy. Catfish was grilled but I question the freshness of the fish. As the wife of a fisherman...I know old or frozen fish. The potato salad was homemade which is a plus. Our server was really friendly and the restaurant has that home feeling of great food and greater conversations. Heads up. Restrooms are NOT accessible to wheel chairs or obese people. They are super tiny and are one seaters. However they are clean which is always a bonus. read more
