I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Our food took well over an hour to come out, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Most of our group ordered appetizers as our main meal, including wings and chicken bites. To make things more confusing, two people ordered the exact same wings, yet one received 12 wings while the other only got 8. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. The calamari was especially disappointing--very chewy and practically inedible. The service didn't help the experience either. Our waitress was polite enough, but seemed completely disengaged and offered very little personality or attentiveness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself could also use some updating. The atmosphere felt very dated, almost like it was stuck in the 90s/2000s, and there seems to be a lot of opportunity for improvements and renovations to make the space feel more inviting and current.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, between the long wait, inconsistent portions, cold food, lackluster service, and outdated atmosphere, this wasn't a place I'd be eager to return to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great views though - its right on Lake Douglas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Checking out Douglas Lake area, Angelos is 1 of the 2 on the lake. Menu very mainstream American, took a risk and ordered dozen oysters. Shared the chicken parm with hubs. Oysters were good tho not plumb; chix parm was huge - glad we spilt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Basically paying for views[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], service was friendly but slow and food meh.

Angelo's is a restaurant in a prefect spot on a peninsula on Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN. The food is good, and the service is friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has windows all around that have good views of the lake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating allows you to have amazing lake views.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has lots of seating in a big open area and can handle larger groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a full bar in the back right. On the back, there is an 2-3 tiered porch with table on each level. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also frequently have live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]3 stars for the awesome view and location on the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat outside on the lower patio. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Warning - There are no smoking signs posted but not enforced - there were several people lighting up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I should have requested to move inside but you come here to sit outside. Our server was friendly and fairly attentive. Food: My guy ordered chicken tacos even after I warned him this is not the place to order tacos. The presentation was nice but the tacos were meh. No real flavor I ordered wings as I wasn't that hungry - per menu they were smoked and would be served with a crispy exterior. The wings were served a little undercooked and definitely not crispy so I asked if they could be cooked a little more which they did. I couldn't taste any hint of smoke flavor but they were alright. I asked for a side of their thai chili sauce [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we were waiting live music started up which was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My family and I dined in here today on 6/13/25 for dinner with some friends. The lake is absolutely beautiful. We walked down to the dock while we were waiting to be seated and we seen turtles in the lake. That was so awesome. I love turtles. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our waitress was really sweet and nice just not efficient. She was forgetful, she forgot to bring a high chair we requested, and she also forgot about the wine my friend ordered and when my friend asked for it a second time she brought the wrong wine but she didn't charge us for it. That is why I'm giving 5 stars because besides that the food was amazing and that is the best part. We tried a few appetizers. I was expecting our fried oysters to be in the shell but they were not. They were however yummy, just presented differently than I expected. Food was great. The restaurant was nice and the views are amazing. We got the best of both, we got to see sunshine on the lake and a storm rolled in. I would love to come back and dine in here again.

No customers, but a 30 minute wait

Friendliness, wait times with an empty restaurant Apparently they don't have any workers

Meatloaf, roasted brussel sprouts and red skinned potatoes!

I ordered the crab cakes, and they were absolutely delicious--full of crab, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. My wife had the grilled shrimp, and she loved it as well. Everything was fresh and cooked just right. Great food, excellent service, and a smooth experience despite the crowd. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Gatlinburg!

As for the food, it was honestly pretty underwhelming considering how hyped this place is. The crab dip was okay, nothing memorable. The steak and lobster was disappointing- the lobster had that soft texture that overcooked or not-so-fresh crawfish can have. The baked shrimp wasn't bad, but definitely not something I'd order again. Strawberry shortcake was decent enough. Ironically, the bread basket ended up being my favorite part of the meal-absolutely delicious. The service, however, was genuinely warm and hospitable. It was a bit slow, but the staff was kind, friendly, and personable enough that it made up for it. That was honestly the highlight of the experience. Was I excited to try this place because of all the hype? Absolutely. Would I personally recommend it? Probably not.

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and I believe there's also a bar area. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from appetizers and gumbo to customizable seafood boils with different seasoning and spice options. Before our meal, they brought out their cheesy crab bread, and unfortunately I didn't snap a picture because we all devoured it within minutes. It was that good! I ordered a half pound of crawfish, a half pound of snow crab legs, and a lobster tail with the Cajun seasoning, "Make It Hot." Everything was delicious! The snow crab legs were packed with flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the lobster tail--it was incredibly meaty, buttery, and cooked perfectly. The boil also came with sausage, corn, and potatoes, making it a hearty meal. I also have to give a shoutout to our server, Amanda. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often, cleared the table as we finished, and gave great recommendations when we had questions about the menu. If I ever find myself back in Tennessee, I'd definitely come back to Storming Crab!
