The atmosphere here is so special. My wife and I loved being on the porch outside over the lake. I would love to come back for a beer at night. The food was not great. Typical bar food. Who knows, maybe we ordered the wrong stuff. The wings and nachos were really cold and boring. Our waitress was Whitley and she did a great job servicing the entire outside sitting area. read more

Really great food with a great view but not really family friendly during ball game nights. The last several times we've visited, it's been so loud we can't hear each other talk, and they don't limit people drinking and disrupting the dining area. We've left early a few times just to get away from the bar crowds. read more

We sat outside and had great service; the staff were super friendly, fun, and welcoming. We started with onion rings and mozzarella sticks for appetizers--both were solid choices. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were a standout. The flavor was spot on, and I really enjoyed the flour and corn shell combo--a nice touch that made them even better. Highly recommend the tacos! What a hidden gem in Jefferson City! They were busy on a Saturday night, but took our order quickly and the food came out fast too. The Ahi Tuna appetizer was delicious, and the Mahi Mahi tacos were just as good. The Key Lime Pie was just okay, but everything is priced really well. Second time was even worse than the first. We had two chicken sandwiches and two burgers at our table. Burgers were supposed to be medium rare. BOTH came out well done. Sent back. No difference. Just as overdone. The buffalo chicken sandwiches were marketed as "hand battered" but tasted like they were fresh out of a Tyson freezer bag. Fries were requested extra crispy and were far from it. Drinks repeatedly went without refills and food was super slow. After two below average times we won't be back. This place could be awesome. But there's no quality control at all. read more

Jefferson City is a little gem and this wonderful restaurant sits on the water. The way it sits on the water it may look closed but it's open. And boy am I glad. We had the burgers, fish and chips and Caesar salad and finished it with dessert. All of the food was delicious, our server was excellent and the view was fabulous. What a find! We had a group of seven, she quickly delivered our drinks and took our orders. I ordered the calamari as an appetizer and the mahi mahi tacos. Fried, fried, and more fried! That's the menu. And, the increase in prices is not so small. The grouper bites are fabulous, and the tartar sauce is spot on. But the boneless wings are way overpriced and have a lot of breading. My daughter ordered the calamari, and we left it there. It looks good, but it is tasteless, and the marinara is straight out of a can. The drinks were weak, watered down with melted ice, and the mixes had no flavor. BUT, the worst is the smell and taste of the tap water and ice! It really smells like sewage. Two of us drank the water and then half hour later we were really sick. The Health Dept. needs to test that water! The service was great, Iif you can't be on a boat, then enjoy the ambiance there. Just don't try to get decent food or drinks. read more

We've been to OFF THE HOOK on the Jefferson City side of Cherokee lake half a dozen times now & have NEVER been disappointed - good service-great food- excellent portions as well - the knoxville paper just gave the place a terrible review basically yapping about portion sizes - while we've never had desserts there 3 tacos with any of the fish-steak or chicken is an excellent portion size - our dining friends loved the ahi tuna salad as well as the grilled chicken salad -we will be back read more

Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming ...a special thanks for our server Lilly, made great menu suggestions and treated us like family. Had the redneck fried app/ pickles, mushrooms and onion rings. Sauces were tasty. Cold beer.. Wife ordered a burger and fries ...ordered burger well done (a chefs nighmare) came medium and was returned. The 1/2 lb burger came back as whole new burger in short time, perfect and still juicy at the well done request. I had fried sampler- grouper (crispy, flaky, white as snow ...huge piece) and chicken fingers (very good)and hand breaded shrimp. The shrimp were very special looked like cocktail grade 4-6 count shrimp hand breaded no tails in a word /spectacular. I'll do the shrimp dinner portion next time ! Mixed grilled veggies (squash and zucchini) light and delicious. Tried 2 deserts -key lime pie with a raspberry drizzle cool, tart and sweet, and a Carmel cake very sweet, uniquely decadent. Cool casual place I'd recommend for anyone that likes beautiful views, young cheerful staff and killer elevated bar food. read more

I really want to love this place because of the location: Right on the lake, fun to get to by boat. But they really need to depend less on the view and focus more on the food and service. Most of the waitstaff is young, and they seem to be trying. The last two times I went, my order came out wrong (as in completely different from what I ordered.) Prices are high for the quality. Mozzarella bites were four in an order for $12 and mercilessly over-fried to the point where two had no cheese left. But the most disappointing factor this last visit was the overwhelming smell of sewage coming from the pump located right next to where we were seated. Nothing tastes good inhaling that! Great place to visit if you are close to Morristown or Jefferson City TN. Nice view of the Cherokee lake while dining. Food is pretty good and seems to get better every time I return to the restaurant. We pulled up our boat and tied off, walked up and had a few appetizers and brews. Santa Fe rolls were great.. if they were previously frozen, we could not tell. Nice view of Cherokee Lake. We both had burgers and they were thick, juicy and delicious. The side of coleslaw was excellent as well. Our server was not that great so our Fried Pickles ended up being our dessert instead of our appetizer. That said, they were lightly battered, crispy and very tasty. My wife and I are new to the area and we enjoy outside dining and live music which Off The Hook has on Saturday nights. We arrived about 6:30 and there was a 35 minute wait. Very busy! I had a cheeseburger and my wife had fish . Both were excellent. Service was good but because we ordered at the bar and moved to an outside table, we didn't have an assigned wait person. All the staff hustled to accommodate the large crowd. The manager (Michael I believe) was actively involved, assuring that everyone was taken care of. The band started at 7:30 instead of 7 as advertised but that seems normal around here. The setting is beautiful. We will be back. read more

We were passing through and looked for something off the beaten path for dinner. We found this spot on Yelp and just WOW! We were blown entirely away. The staff is amazing. So accommodating and over the top friendly. Seriously! They are awesome! The atmosphere is perfect. 1000% with the view and outside seating to enjoy it is flawless. Now, let's talk about the food. While our food is almost always next to perfect this time was not a good experience at all and we frequent this place.. Between two of the servers, not sure which one but one of them stole my sunglasses off the table. They were approached about it and were quick say they hadn't seen any. I know for a fact they were taken from my table as I had laid them down to eat. We had only stepped down the ramp, not even off the premises before me noticing I didn't have them. Not saying we won't be back but I am most definitely saying don't trust their employees not to take your belongings!! They will steal! read more
