I booked a last-minute lash extension appointment with Princess Lash and specifically requested a 1 to 1 lash application because I wanted a very natural look. Toward the end of the appointment, my right eye started burning intensely. The technician responded by placing a small fan in front of my eye, assuming that cool air would help. Instead, it made the burning worse so I asked her to stop. I told her that something, possibly the product they used, must have gotten into my eye. She insisted that nothing had and continued suggesting the fan, which I refused since it was clearly not helping. She kept saying my eye looked normal and that she hadn't done anything wrong, but that wasn't the point, my eye was burning, and it was very real. She then offered to remove the lashes, which I declined, not because I wanted to keep them, but because removing them would involve using more products, and I didn't want to risk further irritation. Because we were not able to communicate effectively, she called her boss. I explained the situation, but the response was defensive, he emphasized their years of experience and said this had never happened before. Again, that missed the point: my eye was burning, and something clearly caused it. At that point, I decided to pay for the service and go see an eye doctor. The next day, I saw my doctor. The burning had decreased but was still present. The exam came back normal, but she confirmed that this probably caused by something that came into contact with my eye. She also explained that using a fan in this situation is actually a poor decision, as it dries the eye and can make irritation worse. It's a terrible decision. Additionally, she said that not removing the lashes was the right call, as it could have further aggravated the eye. Overall, I believe technicians should be better trained on how to handle situations like this. It's critical. As the lashes began to fall out (as expected), I also noticed that not all of them were 1:1 as requested--some were double lashes. I will say that the final result did look natural and beautiful. However, considering the entire experience, I cannot recommend this place. This was too much stressful.

For payment, they accept payment in cash with 5% off; Venmo, or Zelle (QR codes at the front). The total amount they provide at the end of service is before tip, and there's signage that indicates 15% tip or higher is greatly appreciated. I normally get my lashes done while I'm down in SJ. It's cheaper and there are more options closer to home there. This time, I needed to get them done before a trip and I wasn't going to be down in SJ for quite some time. Found Change and decided to check them out since I'm in Outer Rich and this isn't too far. Making an appt is easy and no CC needed to secure. The lash tech Rachel is a sweetheart. I asked her what type of fans she uses and she actually makes her own. I thought that was kinda cool. Bespoke lashes! I don't have a lot of lashes and they are thin, so my appt took the standard 1.5 hours. Less actually. I sometimes have reactions to the glue used at other spots. That didn't happen here. My eyes were sting free. I'm used to leaving an appt looking like I have lash blindness as a lot of them fall out in the first few days or so. Once past that point, they normally look good. I didn't need to deal with that here. Hardly any fallout. And they still look pretty good today, like a month later. With all the discounts mentioned above, I think the price of my appt was $159 something, so just under $160. That's actually comparable to the prices I pay in SJ. I just gave her $200 to include tip and called it a day. I thought lash fallout was just a part of getting extensions. Glad I discovered Change. Showed me how quality lashes can be.
