My wife and I have a long-term relationship with ListenUp through their Boulder audio specialist, Andy Nizzotti. It's been a rewarding partnership that started pre-pandemic (2007) but really blossomed in 2020. They've outfitted three of my homes, introduced me to Sonos, McIntosh, Simaudio/Moon, B&W, and much more. Recently I contacted Andy to tell him of poor acoustics in a main listening room. After some analysis, ListenUp solved my hard-to-hear TV problem in our Great Room. Through the use of new directional speakers, a MantleMount for my TV, and some different spatial arrangements of current equipment, we now have what feels like a "new" setup. We even had a small hiccup caused by a faulty cable that ListenUp came out immediately to fix and replace. I told the salesman that I wanted to spend no more than $500 on a turntable. In fact, I ended up spending less than $300, because the salesman essentially shrugged when I asked what more you got for the $400+ unit. Not very helpful. Then when I got the thing, it came with an AC power supply for EU sockets only. OK sure no big deal, it cost me $2 at Walmart to get an adapter. But if you're going to be so upscale, at least you can sell the customer a unit that works out of the box. Definitely a disappointing experience. I won't be going back. read more

I purchased a system from ListenUp in Boulder last summer. I am very pleased with the performance of the system and even more pleased with their service. I had some ongoing issues with the Control4 remote control, some of which were operator error, and they came out to my house and fixed it as well as going over the features again with me until I fully understood it all. Their prices are competitive and the folks knowledgeable. I highly recommend them whether you want a high end system or s'more moderate. read more

I am surprised by the 4+ review score. It is now over two and one-half years and our system still does not work as promised. It takes months before we get responses and even longer to get tech support out to work on our issues. Very few issues have been permanently fixed. I know this is a difficult and complex industry but don't promise something you can't delivery. read more

We hired listenUp to remove a whole bunch of weird wires and devices throughout our new home. They did a great job and helped us understand the system installed by the previous owners. The technicians that helped us were very professional and cleaned up after their work (also were very COVID aware and wore masks, kept distance, etc). I would highly recommend ListenUp. read more

We had ListenUp mount/install two TVs, a receiver, and a blu-ray player after we moved. We already owned all the equipment. They billed us for 2 people @ 5 hours each, for a total of $1,256. The job probably did require 2 people because one of the TVs was large, but 10 person-hours of time is exorbitant for that size job. I tried repeatedly to speak with my salesperson to discuss the bill, but never once did he return my call. They charge high prices, but customer service simply doesn't match up. read more

The service techs won't order what they need direct from there own sales department (sorry, we can't do that, company policy!) and the sales team doesn't listen to what you tell them that the service techs asks for (apparently the sales guy knows better than the guys out in the field) - AND - guess who gets to pay to do the job twice. My last few interactions with the Boulder store left me feeling like I was inconveniencing the sales staff, and anymore, you can't even go in to audition the speakers well because they're pushing obscure-yet-anemic gear on their best speakers. If you're interested in HiFi, go to Soundings, 30+ miles south in the Tech Center. They're much nicer, much more friendly, and you get the impression that they actually care. I called ListenUp to see if they had the turntable I wanted in stock before I drove from the Fort to Boulder. I spoke to a younger guy who was very helpful and they happened to have exactly what I wanted so I headed over. Being in the industry I appreciated their selection and brands, store was merchandised well too. I met up with the same guy who I spoke with earlier and purchased my turntable (which I love by the way) The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I basically asked for an audio demo on the Sonus Fabers but I didn't receive one. Overall great experience if you are looking for Hi-Fi gear. read more

Although i did not find what i was looking for (within my price range), my experience at this store was grand. There were two guys on the floor at the time named stephen and andy. Upon walking in i was pleased by the layout of the display room, along with how welcoming stephen was. Both employees were very informative based on what i had in mind and what actually existed. Although they couldnt really help me out with any purchases, they had me far more knowledgeable of my situation where i was once clueless. Jon made me feel at ease, and jumped right in to see what he could do to make things better for my A/V situation.
